Assisted Living Communities to Utilize COVID-19 Detecting Dogs

(Clay Neely, December 30, 2020) Five senior living communities in Atlanta, Georgia are receiving partner dogs because of their uncanny ability to recognize the scents of COVID-19 and, hopefully, other common health concerns in community residents.

Dogs in training now are able to identify the COVID-19 virus via sterile swabs used to collect sweat samples from test subjects. According to the article, these trials are expected to be complete, and dogs placed in facilities, in early 2021.
