CDC Update: COVID-19 Vaccinations - When Are You Up-to-Date?
The CDC has updated its guidance for COVID-19 vaccinations to include their definition of "up-to-date."
According to the latest guidance, "You are up to date with your COVID-19 vaccines when you have received all doses in the primary series and all boosters recommended for you, when eligible.
- Use CDC’s COVID-19 booster toolto learn if and when you can get boosters to stay up to date with your COVID-19 vaccines.
- The following COVID-19 vaccine and booster recommendations may be updated as CDC continues to use the latest data related to safety and how well vaccines work, including over time and against new variants."

COVID-19 Resource to Use in Making Decisions for your Community
A few KSLA members have asked recently if we've received any updated guidance regarding COVID-19 protocols. There is a helpful resource, which is a collaboration between Team Kentucky, KDPH & CHFS, that you can use in the decision making process at your community. It's called the Kentucky Coronavirus Monitoring site. While this site is not specific to long-term care, it does contain useful information such as:
- An updated community level map, driven by data provided by the CDC, and updated each Friday.
- Guidance related to vaccination, mask use, isolation & quarantine, physical distancing and high risk individuals. This guidance is broken down county color.
- Steps to take if you've had a COVID-19 exposure or tested positive.
- There are several downloadable PDFs under the "KDPH Guidance" menu.

Pre-Approved Dementia Training List from Kentucky's Office of Dementia Services
The Kentucky Office of Dementia Service shared a larger list of pre-approved dementia training programs than the one we originally received from DAIL. Click Here to see this list.
As a reminder, the first step to being in compliance with the required training laid out in SB-61 is that Assisted Living communities should submit information about their current training programs to Jennifer Craig for approval. From what we've heard from ALCs who have already completed this step, the approval process is quick and no further action on their part has been needed.
Being in compliance with SB-61 by July 14, 2022, even if it is repealed, will put our communities on solid footing as it pertains to Alzheimer's/Dementia care training when SB-11 regulations are promulgated and take effect.
