The Active Shooter workshop will be led by Joseph Murray,a seasoned and experienced professional with an expansive military, law enforcement, and business management background. He holds an MBA in Management from American InterContinental University and a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. Mr. Murray had a distinguished career in law enforcement in New York and Florida. He has also consulted with and developed Active Shooter response policies for numerous Healthcare Organizations, Houses of Worship, and Private Schools. He is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and holds certifications from The Department of Homeland Security on Active Shooter and Incident Command. He is a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Workshop participants will learn how to identify an active shooter, determine the severity of the situation, learn appropriate responses to active shooter situations, and how to identify escape routes and notify other personnel of the situation. In addition, participants will learn of leadership’s responsibility to the media, as well as how to ensure business continuity in the aftermath of an active shooter incident.
