FDA Revokes Emergency Use Authorization for CQ & HCQ

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) revoked the emergency use authorization that allowed for chloroquine phosphate and hydroxychloroquine sulfate; analysis of emerging data led the FDA to determine that chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine “are unlikely to be effective in treating COVID-19” and that the potential for serious side effects now outweigh potential benefits.
