Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Guidance for Assisted Living Facilities Regarding Visitation

Yesterday at 4 p.m., KSLA received a letter from DAIL which included guidance recommendations related to visitation at Assisted Living facilities. Click Here to see the letter in its entirety.

The letter referenced a link to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) guidance, which was released on March 4. Click Here to see that guidance. This guidance is in line with Governor Beshear's recommendations as well as the Center for Disease Control and the Department for Public Health.

The letter also includes contact information for those with questions regarding infection control, transmission-based precautions, and use of personal protective equipment. Those contacts, from the Healthcare-Associated Infection/Antibiotic Resistance Prevention Program, are:

  • Andrea Flinchum: 502-564-3261 ext. 4248
  • Michael Curran: 502-564-3261 ext. 4249
  • Chad Eldridge: 502-564-3261 ext. 4251

If you have questions about your Assisted Living Community, contact Buddy Hoskinson, DAIL Division Director for Quality Assurance and Improvement, at 502-564-6930 ext. 3531.
