(NPR, June 3, 2020) Dr. Sharon Sandell is pediatric intensivist in the pediatric ICU at Medical City Children’s Hospital in Dallas. This is the story of her parents, Larry and Anne Sandell, who both tested positive for COVID-19 in their Assisted Living community in Nevada after being quarantined for two weeks, with twice-daily temperature checks, and with no other positive cases in their ALC. Dr. Sandell believes that the precautions put in place by their facility, and the careful attention paid by the nurse there, may have saved her parents' lives. Click Here to read the article.
