Reviews
for Amber Oaks Assisted Living
#1 Our overall experience has been great I would definitely give them a 5. #2 Considering the type of facility they do a great job keeping the facility clean and sanitary. My dad is very independent so he doesn't need a lot of assistance. I would give them a 4. #3. The staff are very friendly and attentive to my dad. He speaks highly of his care givers. #4 My dad doesn't require much so I can only say he's satisfied. He went thru Chemo a few months ago and the staff did well with helping him with his meds. I'd probably give them a 4. #5 I haven had a lot if dealing with the Admin Staff. They have always been very professional and interested in Dad well being so I'd give them a 5. #6 The food, according to my dad is good. He is well nourished and has gained the weight he lost back. He is thriving. I would give them a 4. #7 It seems as though many activities are scheduled and offered. My dad is not one for participation so he doesn't attend many of the planned activities. They work it so I'd give them a 4. #8. I think the value of Amber Oaks is very good. Before dad was placed I visited several facilities prior to Amber Oaks. We were trying to stay in a manageable budget and quite frankly many of the other facilities were more expensive and dad would have had to share a room. He has his own space, bathroom and a room with a view he enjoys. For $[removed]. To $[removed] less per month depending on the facility. So in my opinion the value is great. Definitely a 5.
Family member enjoys it there but they still need to be watched. Price was a factor
Everybody has a GYAT level 10 no cap
We love the place, the food is biggest drawback, not much variety, too much salt used, some meals not very appetizing. Quality of care is good, just a lot of turnover which causes confusion sometimes, especially with medicine, bath routines and such.
Get place to work and great place for assisted living
Amber Oaks Assisted Living is a really good place. We have no issues with the staff. It's a location with not a lot of traffic. My family member really enjoys it there. They provide quality service that gives me peace of mind.
My loved one is currently a resident at Amber Oaks Assisted Living. I would give this facility a rating of 20, if I could. I'm so happy to have them! All of the staff have gone above and beyond for my loved one. The food is wonderful. I have never been to a facility that smells clean at all times! They do a fantastic job. I would definitely recommend this facility to family and friends!
As with many other industries, they are short on help, therefore lacking quality in some areas. The owner/director is accommodating and compassionate. Most of the staff are very good and caring, a few don't care about the residents and shouldn't be there but I understand the home needs the help. I would definitely recommend Amber Oaks, despite their issues, it's still a great place at very reasonable cost.
It’s one of the best assisted living homes with the best prices around with a great owner and great staff. Resident seem to have to enjoy living there for years on end and I am currently moving my uncle in there, so yes, I love this .
What I liked about Amber Oaks Assisted Living was it was independently owned and it's a small home. It had a very homey approach to care, the rooms, and things of that nature. The owner had a good philosophy about care for the residents, and I did like that. The facility needed a little bit of updating. I think some of that was just due to restraints of being able to utilize or order things as needed due to COVID. I think they're just trying to bounce back from that. It's not COVID-related illness, but just being able to purchase things that you need to purchase like updated furniture or things of that nature. The food was excellent and the residents seemed happy there. As we toured, we ran into folks who just were pleasant and seemed happy. We met with the owner on the particular day that we toured. I actually toured twice, so I met some of the staff first off. I wanted to go see it first and then take my folks to see it. It seemed like most of the staff had been there for a while, not like a rotating staff, but people who enjoyed working there and staying there. The only thing that was a little lacking was the updating of furniture in some of the common areas. Outside of that, it was a very nice place. They had an atrium that needed to be maintained a little bit better.
We really like that the staff at Amber Oaks seem very really, they are not putting on a show for us. Whenever something happens they are very open and transparent which we appreciate it. Every time we talk with our loved one she always says the meals are amazing. They are lacking in the activities department they could improve on that but based on our experience we would definitely recommend this community to other families.
Amber Oaks Assisted Living is a nice location. It is close to my home so that I could visit easily. Everything seemed to be well presented to us. It looked like the activities were somewhat limited. They had a schedule of activities, but we didn't see anyone participate in anything other than just sitting around and talking. The facility was older, but it looked like it's been well taken care of. They had a salon and a library.
I toured Amber Oaks Assisted Living. I spoke with the administrator. He took out a lot of information about all that we had going on and brought my parents in next weekend, so they could do a viewing and see what it is because they're out of town and they're about 100 miles from where I'm living. My tour was great. It was a very nice facility. I hope my parents are satisfied with it, and I hope it fits everything to their liking. I believe it will. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable of any questions that I asked. They were engaging with us and willing to help. They have apartments. What we were looking for was more like the one-bedroom apartment type, and that's what he showed us, and it was very, very nice. We walked through the cafeteria, and it was immaculate. The atmosphere within the room there was nice. They have a prayer room where they hold church services. If my parents choose to, they can attend that on Sundays. There's a small exercise-like room, and there's another room that's a library. They have a lot of stuff going on there for them. They have a courtyard in the middle of the place. If you walk outside, there are nice flower gardens. They have a raised garden set up for the people if they want to put some vegetables to attend to. It's very nice.
Our tour at Amber Oaks Assisted Living was good and very informative. It's a very nice place. It's well maintained. The people seemed like they care about the people who live there. It looked like they try to treat them as individuals. I thought it was all good. The staff who toured us around was very nice and very informative. She did everything that you would expect. They have like a small refrigerator and a microwave in their little room in case they wanted something to heat up in the room instead of going to the dining area. The dining area looked like a restaurant. They had placemats and stuff at the tables. In the center of the building, you could go outside. There's the outside courtyard that's private. That's for all of them there. It's not an individual private courtyard; it's for the whole facility.
The people at Amber Oaks Assisted Living were nice, but the building is so awful and depressing. You walk in, and it smells. They wanted so badly to walk me around and show off how wonderful everything was, but it wasn't. You walk into the front entrance hallway, and there's just junk all over the floor. It was just dirty, and they could have changed the rug. It was just rundown. The staff that accommodated me was just wonderful. The man that evidently runs the place was just very very nice. There were no activities. Everybody was just sitting in chairs and watching TV; that was was it. The rooms were very tiny and sad. It meets the price. It's pretty cheap, and it matches how cheap it is.
Amber Oaks Assisted Living was a nice place. It was well kept, well maintained, and clean, and it had a very pleasant atmosphere. All the residents we met looked like they were happy. We only met a few of the staff, but the one who gave us the tour did a fantastic job. The administrator who spent some time with us did a fantastic job, as well. We met a couple of the other staff just in passing, and they were very nice and very pleasant. They made some chocolate pie that was fantastic. They explained how they do the processing and preparation of the food, and they make it primarily all from scratch, so it's not processed food. It's an older building, but it's still really nice and well maintained.
The personnel at Amber Oaks have been very kind to my father in law. He receives good care from them.
Nice floks
My mom has lived here for over five years and she loves it. We are blessed to have some place like this where the parent wants to go and we don't have to make them go.
This facility was one of the nicest assisted living facilities I have seen. The atmosphere was dignified and very comfortable. there are many activites and social areas for the residents and visiting friends and family. all the staff is friendly and helpful and willing to assist in any way needed. I could not find fault with anything other than it would be nice if the facility also had the ability to transition the patients from assisted living to nursing home needs. would recommend for any friend or family member.
