for Arcadia Louisville
Arcadia has the real sense of family. There's a camaraderie among the residence that makes life hair really nice. I have been very happy since I moved in here. I have a first floor unit and a small patio that I've been able to put flowers on and even two tomato plants.
I think the day trip activities and transportation options are a plus. I wish they did not make the soup with leftovers.
Staff was always accommodating! Area was nice and clean and updated. Yes, we would recommend Arcadia Louisville to other families
They Definitely need to improve the quality of food. Room sizes are adequate.
We moved our mother into Arcadia assisted living and found everyone to be helpful, friendly and most importantly welcoming. Within a matter of days mom had connected with a group of residents and became instant friends. She was comfortable and felt at home quickly. The facilities are clean and inviting. We especially liked that the caregivers checked on our mom for meals 3 times a day and made it a priority to take notice if her eating habits changed. All of the staff were helpful and addressed any concerns we had. The facilities are very nice and well maintained.
I toured Arcadia Louisville. It's a really nice place with a nice staff. The staff was very good. They had redone the facility, so everything was brand new. They had a little bit better situation. They had a studio, which was all he really needed. Where he's at now, he's in a one-bedroom, which is costing us a little more. That's all they had available, but they had really extremely nice rooms there, and they were less expensive also. They had a nice library. The dining room was very nice. It looked like their menu was extensive as far as their food. They had redone everything in that place, and it was done really topnotch.
I presented the idea to my Mom of moving from her condo where she’d lived for over 30 years to Arcadia. She was hesitant at first but liked the idea. We talked about all the social activities, dining room meals, weekly housekeeping and medical appointment transportation. She looked at the community and didn’t want to look at the other two I planned to show her. She loved Arcadia! She’s been there 3 months and already feels like she’s at home!
I researched and toured numerous places for my aunt in Louisville and when I found Arcadia it was perfect for her financially, location wise and their amenities and activities were well planned for the residents. The staff were amazing and caring and genuine. The facility was renovating everything making it fresh and new. The food was great as well as the kitchen staff, who take great pride in their work. I feel at peace knowing my aunt is living and thriving at Arcadia. It's been a blessing!
I would recommend it to someone looking for a place. The food is a little strange sometimes for elderly people but that is a matter of opinion I guess.
I found them easy to work with and appreciated true extra effort and caring. The "4" ratings were due to a couple of staff not being on site and available several times, but believe issues was resolved when they left; the food sometimes not being as appealing as it could have been, although normally pretty tasty and portions were ample; activities could have been a little more challenging, encouraging walks outside for example. Overall, it was a good, safe, friendly environment for my mother even though she was lonesome, not active, and could have used Moe interaction and encouragement to get out of her "headspace" at times.
Mother moved in because dad was in memory care across the street… he soon passed away and she didn’t want to move back home due to upkeep, she has meals, cleaning and transportation, unable to drive so it is working out
Very knowledgeable and helpful! Staff! Talked with three staff members and all were extremely helpful with the tour and explanation of amenities and services . Several meetings were conducted with detail about payment and all costs !
I went to Arcadia Louisville. The people were very friendly, and they had a lot of good activities. The services they offered, the accommodations, the food, and the activities were all very comparable. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The food was very tasty. There were a lot of choices for different activities. They had a gym, a salon, a library, an Internet cafe, and a movie area.
I would recommend the place. I had a good experience with the facility. I picked because my Dad liked it and they were friendly.
My dad was a resident at Arcadia Louisville and everything about this facility was great. We felt very fortunate that we were able to transfer my dad to a new facility so quickly for additional care. The staff is awesome, I would give them a 10 plus! My main factor is the communication and care that I experienced with the staff during my dad's short time there. They would text me to ask about how he's doing and always were very pleasant to be around when I was there grabbing stuff for him. The food, menu and options all looked very appealing. The remodel that they are going through is giving the place a very fresh look, but in my opinion, prior to the remodel it still was very nice and better than other facilities that I toured. The cost/rate is very reasonable compared to competitors and is a nicer facility than most, from my experience. I would definitely recommend Arcadia Louisville to anyone looking.
It's better now that Arcadia took over. I see a few improvements. It's nice but could use some updates. Staff turnover has been high too. We picked this community because of the location and price.
The tour experience with Arcadia Louisville was good, it is a very nice facility but not the right fit for my mom. It did not have that cozy feel we were looking for. They had assisted living and memory care, but I didn't feel the memory care patients were as important as the assisted living patients.
The curb appeal, living conditions and staff are wonderful! While dealing with today’s labor shortage, the entire staff works together to serve their clients, and all with a smile. The staff is also accommodating to the family. Thank you Wickshire Blankenbaker Personal Care for helping our family move Mom into her lovely new home.
Rudest, most uncaring staff I have ever met in any profession. My dad is at another facility, and everything is going great. It was one thing after another with the Wickshire staff. We pulled my dad out of Wickshire in less than a month because of the way they treated my dad. I wouldn't send my worst enemy there!
I toured this facility. It's more affordable than some of the others in the area, but wasn't the best fit for my loved one.
Wickshire Blankenbaker gets 5 stars on all categories. They have a solid organization and staff. I would absolutely recommend the facility to others.
The staff at Wickshire has been very knowledgeable and supportive of our situation moving my mother to assisted living. They made such a dauting task much easier for the family
We toured with Wickshire Blankenbaker and we were not at all impressed. It was a very dull and dark atmosphere that was depressing - we were looking for something vibrant and that was not the case here. The staff member who was showing us around for the tour must have been new because she was very ill prepared. She had no answers to even the simplest of our questions. When we were leaving I had a few questions on pricing and she said she would get back to me via email and I never heard a thing from her.
They loved my dad. They had activities, and he participated in some. They had bowling and were starting a new exercise program. My dad was in the memory care part. It was expensive but worth the money. I had a rocky start but was not familiar with The process. The staff really worked with me and they took care of my father, and that is what's important. They allowed to me see dad during COVID. Even if I was frustrated, the staff was helpful. They liked taking care of dad.
I felt that this community did a good job just navigating my fathers care while he was there. They had activities for the residents like dance parties, popcorn events, singers that came in and more for the residents to do to have a good time in the community and socialize. The staff were very friendly and helped us get to the right doctors that we needed to help my loved one.
I had to move my loved one out it was so bad. They accused my dad and made things up about him that were not true at all. They drafted his account after he moved out and they still will not give us our money back even though they told us that he could not come back to live there. They owe me a lot of money and I cannot even get them to return my calls. Every week they had a new person running the facility, we could not even keep up with it. It was a terrible experience and we would never recommend them.
This community was nice and I really liked it. The tour was fine and the person that lead us around was great and very attentive.
I loved this community. I thought it was over the top. I wanted to live here it was so great. My loved one is more old fashioned so the fanciness and the bells and whistles were too much for him. He would prefer something more laid back. This community was like a hotel.
The everyday staff seem to be very engaged and friendly. However, the sales and administration related to the contract are not really responsive after the contract is signed. I feel like they got us in there, and now we need some follow-up, but it's taken a while to get that follow-up. But the caretakers are awesome, and my loved one seems to be really getting into the activities.
We chose Wickshire Bl;ankenbaker mainly because of the convenient location to me and I am the main caretaker for them. The apartment sizes are pretty good, definitely suitable for what they needed. It is a very pretty facility and they have nice landscaping on the outside. The facility provides independent living as well as assisted living if you need to level up to that. I would recommend to others looking.
My family is in the process of securing a suitable living arrangement for our brother a disabled veteran. Ivy Knoll was a recommendation based on our needs. Their representative ([date removed]) was personable, knowledgable and a true professional. The services and the physical state of the residence was impressive. I would recommend that any family looking for a Personal Care Home for a love one inquire about Wickshire.
The windows here are a little dirty and they also have to much of the same thing when it comes to food, there is not a variety at all. Everything I have learned here I have learned through the other residents.
The value is better than most in the area. Save this one for last. I would recommend this community to others.
ratings above.
It was resort-like in a beautiful location in the city. The rooms were slightly different and more of an apartment but comparable to the others. The person who accommodated us was hurried and answered questions but did not try to elicit responses.
The community is doing good but I hate that I will be relocating them to a higher level care. It is across the street but I felt like when we were dealing with the sales people they were not understanding the limitations for my parent. In their response they told me they were able to do what was needed while in the independent side. I do like the community but they need to filter the difference between independent and assistant residents.
My mother is in a studio apartment. I’d say the rooms were adequate. They had a bathroom and a bedroom. We’ve eaten there with my mom. That their meals are very healthy, and the food is good. They have activities planned throughout the day. When the weather is better, they go out on a bus. They have music and sing-alongs, and they do activities inside the facility. They’re very good about helping the residents to do things that they’re familiar with like folding napkins and help setting the tables. They have little activity stations to keep the residents engaged. The staff there is wonderful. It was a very hard decision to move, and once my mom got into the independent care, we realized quickly that she needed to be in memory care. The staff were very supportive and caring and helped us to make that transition.
Remarkable, caring individuals. So blessed to have my parents in this facility!
We heard some good news about this community, and it’s just a few blocks from my house. They seemed to be pretty good; particularly they were really good for dementia care. The rooms were OK -- shared rooms -- and it appeared clean.
I like the way that the staff interacted wth the residents. I thought it was beautful. I really like the memory care. The staff was very nice and helpful, and they have activities.
The friendliness of the people and the staff is what we liked the most at this facility. The food is good; it's the normal stuff that you fix for the elderly. I am very pleased with this facility. The facility provides outings, they get together to watch TV, they have an excellent library, and they play bingo. Compared to the other facility my friend is at, this facility is definitely outstanding.
It is really clean, and the people there were really nice. It seemed like a pretty good layout, something that she would like. The staff seemed like they were all professional. We spoke with the chef in the dining area, and we spoke to a couple of people who were heads of different areas, too. They have outside activities where they take you to shopping centers. They have prayer rooms, arts and crafts, a library, and a place where they can get their hair done. They pretty much have everything. I think it was a new facility, so the rooms were pretty, nice, and clean. They remodeled and spruced up a couple of different units. To me, it was nice.
Horizon Bay has been extremely helpful and timely in their responses. They have been attentive to our time frame for moving our relative and very welcoming. So far my experience with them has been superior.
The community was very warm and welcoming. The rooms were very nice, and they were apartment-style rooms. The staff answered all my concerns. They had exercise, an exercise room, and puzzles. The dining room appeared to be very pretty and organized. The residents appeared well cared for and happy.
It is an excellent facility. The person we work with, Rick, was absolutely wonderful. The staff is very friendly and professional. The one bedroom was a little bit small but still very nice. We went to lunch with my mother and the food was excellent. They take them to their doctor's appointments. I know they have games throughout the day.
