Unspecified · January 2026 I am a caregiver for a resident that lives at the Barrington. I am impressed on how well the facility is maintain. I have seen the maintenance man Troy several times. Troy is always on the go. The person I take care of needed some work done in their apartment. Troy was there the next day. Troy had everything taken care of. I can tell that Troy takes pride in his work. Troy is very professional and friendly person.
I will be going to Barrington of Ft. Thomas. It checks all the boxes of the things that I want, transportation, a balcony, and the menus looked good. I did sample a dinner and it was good. They have a cocktail hour. They have card groups and a place to exercise. They seem to have a walking group indoors as well as outdoors. Twice out of the three times I visited, no one seemed to know we were coming and that was kind of a negative. I had made appointments but that didn't reach the front desk, and that was an immediate turnoff, but their development director invited me to take a tour with him and that was much better. One of the tour guides couldn't answer any of my questions. They need some PR training.
Barrington of Fort Thomas is the one I like the most that is within my budget. I like the wide hallways. I like the view and the patio. They had French doors. It was cheerful. They had spacious bathrooms and plenty of storage. They even had storage on the first floor for stuff that wouldn't fit in your apartment. They had enough space to put your medicines if you got medicine or packages that came in the mailroom. They had a microwave, a stove, a refrigerator, a dishwasher, and a washer and dryer. The staff was very pleasant. The meals are prepared in the cafeteria. They have a restaurant, but you can cook yourself too if you want. They serve three meals a day. The lasagna was every bit as good as mine. The facility was very clean.
Unspecified · October 2023 I moved into the Barrington of Fort Thomas. My apartment was clean and ready for me to move in. It's been repainted with new carpet. The place is sunny and bright. All of the people are very friendly. Their food is excellent. They do not have a pool, but they have games all day long. They have books and puzzles. The facility is clean and well maintained. They have an activity every day.
Unspecified · November 2022 I went for respite care at Barrington of Ft. Thomas for one month. The place was nice, and the people were nice. They had a lot of activities available, and the food was good. They had physical therapy that stayed open, and you can just go in there and exercise. They had a beauty salon on site. My room was kept very clean. Everything there was nice.
Unspecified · October 2019 Great reception hall.
Unspecified · August 2019 An old [in more ways than one] friend [the former director of musical production at the Ohio State Fair in Columbus] lived briefly at Barrington of Fort Thomas between having lived in Cincinnati for many decades and having moved to a retirement community in his ancestral home of New Bremen, Ohio.
Last fall [10-21-2018], a friend and I [both of us musicians] traveled from Columbus to Barrington of Fort Thomas to visit our friend.
For several hours, the three of us did music together at a piano in the main lobby and indirectly entertained several others who had also been in that lobby.
The three of us then shared a meal together in a nearby dining room before returning to Columbus.
Unspecified · August 2019 Nice place to live and work
Good facilities and care.
After spending the majority of my adult life designing and developing patient/resident centered care environments, I found myself ill prepared for the changes that I was about to encounter, as I took this step in my journey.
With each step I found myself having to make countless decisions- hard ones! The kind that take your breath away…
My Mother and I have been at the Barrington for eight months. We’re both “Above Ground” and breathing. More than this, we are doing “new”, learning “new”, together, because of the Barrington!
Not just because of the beautiful Facility- which is world class; but because of the people!
Everyone!!!! Everyone that touches my Mom and every other resident , from Operations, Housekeeping , Food/Beverage, Clinical and the Activities staff, care for her/them , like they would care their own!
It is beyond impressive. It’s Best-in-Class!
Beautiful place!!! Spacious rooms!!!

Great assisted living home.
My wifes grandmother lives here. I have heard 0 complaints and she has been here around four years. Also they have a fantastic easter egg hunt for kids every year.
Very nice retirement facility
Unspecified · January 2018 My father is presently a resident at the Barrington. He has been there a year.
My family could not be more impressed with the care and attention he is receiving there. And if any of my siblings or I need help, or have a question about something it is taken care of immediately in a kind, professional manner. We feel very blessed that he is there.
Unspecified · December 2017 Barrington of Ft. Thomas is beautiful and spotless. It has a beautiful atmosphere. The staff members are very helpful and very kind people. Unspecified · October 2017 I'm in the Barrington. The staff is excellent, accommodating, and friendly to the residents. The grounds are very nice, I look out and I see trees and grass, and there's a parking lot in the building. The rooms are lovely and very clean.
