for Bluegrass Assisted Living
Go somewhere else don't go to this place staff uneducated.
Great place
Absolutely great community and great staff. They're friendly, helpful and always ready to help with anything you need! Definitely somewhere to give the best care to your loved ones!
Amazing, friendly, and skilled staff! The facility is safe and clean. Definitely would recommend
They have taken such wonderful care of my grandparents! A very nice/clean facility overall, and we love the staff! Best place around that we have found by far.
Great staff and environment
The director and staff are such an incredible group. They truly care about their residents and go out of their way to make holidays and special times of the year memorable for them. On top of everything they do to keep the community running smoothly, it is the little things that make such a difference and mean so much. Keep up the great work!
Bluegrass Assisted Living has been wonderful. The staff are caring and attentive, the facility is clean and welcoming, and communication with families is excellent. We feel confident in their quality of care!
Great improvements have been made at this community and the staff have worked so hard to make it a wonderful place to live. Proud of everyone here. I encourage anyone who is looking for a new home and family to give this community a try.
Wonderful care at a small homelike community. A great location to conveniences in town, and staff that make you feel like family.
Such a warm and inviting place. The staff truly cares for the residents.
Absolutely Amazing Facility! Very clean and extreme friendly staff, they go above and beyond for all their residents. The community is very homey, comforting and welcoming! I love how small and personal it is and how the residents come out and spend time with each other chatting away. Can only say great things about this community!
Do not leave your loved ones here and believe they will receive quality treatment. My mother was left here expecting to be cared for, but the opposite was received. There are on average 2 people on shift to assist the entire location, and even from that point, no one comes to the room when paged until 10 minutes later. Actual roaches were found in my mother’s room. In the time my mother has been here, the location has had issues keeping patients from “escaping” from the memory care side. Horribly understaffed, horribly managed, and horribly priced. For $3,000+ a month, you’d expect better care, but the fact that someone can fall and not receive help for over 10 minutes is inexcusable. I would leave a lower star rating if I could. And when the automated response is posted to this review, understand that they are actually going to take no effort in providing better care for a better environment.
My husband was at Bluegrass at Elizabethtown. The layout is good. It feels pretty homey. There are a lot of places a family can come and sit with the residents. I met staff on both shifts, also on weekdays and weekends, and everyone seemed to care about the residents. There's a nice outdoor area that everyone in the memory care can walk in safely. It's open but it only has one door, so you have to go in and out the same door. I've seen the menu and I saw the food and it looked good. I was very happy about this place because it is six miles from my home, so it's very close to me.
I have a friend who stayed at Bluegrass Assisted Living in Elizabethtown KY. We were very dissatisfied with her care there. After just a short time there, we had to move her to another facility due to the lack of care she recieved.. Missed medicines and no one responding to call button for help were some of the major issues.
I want to thank this assisted living for the care they gave my Mother in law. Everyone was always helpful kind to us. They treated her always with respect. Her room was always clean she was clean. The place never had a bad smell to it. Her Caretenders were great always helpful when we need something or to help us with her. I know some days they were overwhelmed, but that can happen to all of us. When she passed they were very respectful helped us with what was needed. They are like a lot of places short handed but they alway did their best. We were never there at the same time. We were there when there was a fire drill and it was all handle great. We can’t say anything bad about this place. There is no place perfect, but I am grateful she was there and was well taken care of. We were in the memory unit, and it can be very busy back there. Thank you for all you all did for her and also us.
Not safe or place. Do not place your loved ones here. If you have a loved one here, check on them daily! Cannot recommend due to what I witnessed for the memory care portion of the place. They do not give meds on time and some times not at all! Patients fall and call for help and no one responds. A visitor had to get help for a fallen patient who called for help repeatedly and no one came. This place is woefully understaffed. Some caregivers seemed really sweet but overwhelmed and unable to provide quality care, also not adequately trained to take care of basic medical needs. The administration is unacceptable. Activities and routine are not provided for those that need care.
Edited to add response to Bluegrass reply below... I asked numerous times to speak to the owner and was told they were too busy and the administration would call them on my behalf to inform them of my concerns and issues. I asked that the owner call me and they never did. My only option was remove my loved one after 4 days of moving them in. Their return to safety was my utmost priority. Bluegrass Assisted Living was very nice and we enjoyed the people very much. The people there kind of have their own freedom. They could come and go as they please, which was a good thing. They had a refrigerator in the room if they wanted to put some of their own stuff in there. They had good-sized rooms, and they could put their own furniture in there. I didn't see anything where they had a lot of restrictions and I liked that about their place because you don't want to have a lot of things you can't do. The staff who gave me the tour was wonderful. They had a hairdresser or a barber and they came once a week or once a month. There were things I still didn't know about the place, but I didn't find anything to complain about. The staff did a good follow-up, too. The dining area looked adequate. It was spacious, as far as I could see.
All the employees are very friendly to the visitors and the residents. My brother is a resident at the facility. He loves the food. Although he has dementia, he seems happy there. He sits and watches TV the residents. There is always an employee with them.
We toured Bluegrass during our search for an Assisted Living facility for my loved one. This facility was clean and cheerful. The people were professional and helpful. We liked this place. We only chose a different facility because they offered more financial help. Otherwise, we would have chosen this facility!
This is a wonderful place. The memory care staff are wonderful. I am so glad we found them. Lora Morris
We were not impressed with Bluegrass Assisted Living - Elizabethtown. My overall impression, when we toured, was that it was very unkept and very outdated. We realized that was not a good place for my friend. They need a total remodel of the place. However, it's in a good location. It's near restaurants and it's very central to the city.
My mom moved into Bluegrass Assisted Living - Elizabethtown. It seems pretty nice, very neat, and very clean. They do a pretty good job, they just have aides there, and they're very helpful and very friendly. The activities would probably be my complaint. They don't have much for the patients on the memory care side. They do have a few things. They have days when they do their fingernails. But as far as something to keep their minds busy, there's not been a whole lot for that. I'm not impressed with the food either. I frequently eat with my mom there, and it's not very tasty. They have a room where there are puzzles, but most of them can't work on a puzzle. Maybe I'm not quite as happy as I thought I was. I was getting ready to have a talk with the director about trying to come up with some other activities for the place, because a lot of people are trying to get out of there. They're frequently setting off the alarms that they have in place for them. I think if they weren't as bored, if they had more things to keep them busy then, they might not be trying to get out all the time.
Great community and amazing staff!
We visited Bluegrass Assisted Living - Elizabethtown and my dad talked to some of the people there, but he wasn't impressed with it. I thought it was wonderful. I didn't see anything wrong with the facility. The only thing is on the side where he would be, there's not a lot of staff. The grounds looked good. Considering the time of year that we went, the grass, the trees, and everything are dead. But you can tell they have shrubbery all around, and it was clean. It wasn't junky. The people who assisted us were great. They were very helpful and very friendly, and they were not pushy at all. There wasn't any activity going on because they had just finished lunch and they were going back to their rooms. We saw the arts and crafts room, and the garden. They had a couple of common rooms. They had a beautiful fireplace when we first walked in. We sat there and talked to two of the residents.
Highly recommend!
I've encouraged friends and family to check this place out before they go anywhere else. The most positive thing I've experience is the staff interaction; they are friendly and very helpful. I'm not there as much as my brother who lives in town, but we have had no complaints at all. My brother who's a resident has plenty of space in his apartment, it also has a microwave and a small refrigerator. The food looks pretty good, and from what I've seen everyone gets the same meal. The residents are very friendly, they like to see visitors and people coming in. I've been there once while they had entertainment, and everyone there was friendly and happy. I also have another sibling that has moved in, so we are spreading the word!
We moved my mom into Bluegrass Assisted Living - Elizabethtown. They're supposed to check on the residents every 2 hours, and are times I would be there, and nobody would come by. So, I don't feel like they were checking in on people the way that they said they were. Some of the staff were very friendly, but there was other staff that we had issues with. They're getting involved in family things that they shouldn't have gotten involved in. We had to contact the owner to put a stop to it. There were always serving soup. And I never saw them doing anything. I know that they would go to church on Sundays, and they have an area where they would do church services.
My mother-in-law moved into Bluegrass Assisted Living - Elizabethtown. They seem to be good with her and in working with her. She said the food was good. They have a beauty salon, an exercise room, and a game room. The facility is pretty clean and smells good in there. It is like in a neighborhood, and there are apartments around. It's more of a home kind of place.
The community communicates well with me, I have never had any issue with the community. I would definitely recommend this community to others and already have. The community has a very home-like atmosphere.
The rooms and overall layout of this community would be a four out of five. Before COVID we were able to eat some meals there with our loved one, and the food our be about a three out of five. We would recommend this community to others.
They do not provide transportation. They only call TARC which is not free and resident pays. Food is terrible. No special diet needs are met. Director never returns phone calls. Emergency call buttons are not answered promptly, sometimes 15 min. or more. They don't regularly check the batteries in call buttons. No maintenance man hired. No activities director at this time. Staff is not adequate and high turn over rate.
My mom has moved into Bluegrass. She has a private room with a bed, a chair, and her own bathroom, so that's good. They do activities, exercise with their legs while sitting down, and have church on Sunday. The nursing staff members are all friendly and helpful. My mom enjoys the food.
They cannot keep employees and have had 4 managers in 5 years. Owner lives in Calif. and Mexico and is never there. All kinds of promises made when Mom moved in - transportation, trips for fun, ect. never happened. Food is mostly carbs and overcooked. No fresh food hardly ever. Laundry washed all together- no separation of loads. Housekeeping in rooms not good. Floors are concrete with indoor/outdoor carpet , no padding so a fall means a broken bone. They have a locked Alzheimer wing. I shudder to think how it looks or is managed.
I visited my grandmother who lives here, The employees seem happy & are friendly! The place looked clean & just seemed cozy. My other family members like visiting there & said the food is good. Grandma seems happy & especially likes talking to other people at the meals. Her room holds a lot of her furniture & other things. She has her own bathroom with a big shower. There are TV's everywhere so they can watch TV with their friends. There is a fireplace where people were sitting around & talking, It's a very nice place!
I have an aunt that I visit at your facility. I have noticed many improvements the last couple of weeks. It feels like a totally different atmosphere. We were considering moving her, Not now. The new director talked with our family for over 45 minutes. Now we have a tour for my uncle in place. Thank you, [Removed] & staff On an excellent job. Sincerely, . [Removed]
My mother has been at Bluegrass for nearly 3 years. When she went in we were not sure if they could handle some of her difficult ways. But they were patient and worked with her and us and now my mother’s is svery happy there. It sure my our lives better. The family is always welcome. We are very happy.
My mother has been a resident for over a year and she finds the staff very caring and attentive. It is reassuring to her to know that all her needs are met and she no longer has to do laundry, cooking or cleaning or being responsible for taking her meds. She enjoys the activities and would enjoy doing even more of them. It is a place where friendships are developed and the residents care for each other.
Worse place in HC.see the news posts 8-21 Help can never be located inside when a resident needs help.Staff goes outside to smoke and leaves the residents inside alone..Staff changes way too often.Check with Hardin County to the count ambulance runs just this summer just from falls.Owner has little idea of what goes on ,he lives in California..So much more I could say.I regret ever placing mom there,it was a terrible mistake.
Bluegrass were very willing to work with their resident and family to meet their needs. These workers became more like family than employees! Thank you for loving and caring for my mom to the end!
Our loved one is now in a safe and caring place. We immediately liked what we saw at Bluegrass, and [removed name] is simply amazing. I was told they go "above and beyond", and boy has that been true. [removed name] uses the perfect balance of patience and stern direction; all for the benefit of the residents. I would recommend Bluegrass, as long as it is being run by [removed name], to anyone.
Bluegrass Assisted Living seems to understand what my father's needs are. Overall, the staff is very polite and very cordial, they follow up with me, and they seem to be committed. They have a 1-bedroom, and then they have a studio apartment that has all in one -- living area, sleeping, bathroom, and closet. They would probably do better if they could have some more activities. The community is in a good location, and the grounds are nice.
My mother is doing better since her move to this community. I do feel she is safe, and receiving great care. They have a good staff at this community. They have been friendly, and helpful. They have nice meals, and good activities offered for the residents. Everything is working out well, and this is a community I would recommend.
My sister and I were so happy to secure a room at Bluegrass Assisted Living for our mother. The staff were so friendly and took a real interest in our mom. We could relax and not worry about her for the first time in a long time. We were hoping she would be able to remain at Bluegrass for many years, but unfortunately, she declined so rapidly, she had to leave assisted living and go into a nursing home. Based on our experience, we would recommend Bluegrass Assisted Living to anyone looking for a nice, caring facility at an affordable price.
Friendly caring staff. Homelike environment. The seniors there love the meals. The space is clean.
Mom has made friends since moving into this community. The staff are friendly, caring and take good care of her. The food is good and is homemade. The community is clean and they have a nice courtyard in the center of the community. They have daily arts and crafts, play games and offer morning exercise classes that have helped her with her walking.
My mother is suffering from severe dementia and was getting to be more than I could deal with. With your recommendation I decided to get a tour. They have been so helpful and seem to be really concerned about my mother and making her comfortable. Its a beautiful place and the workers are great. She has been there about 6 weeks and I have no complaints. Every time I have been there they appear to be really attentive and friendly. At first I was worried about leaving mom there but now I trust them totally. They have taken a lot of worry off my shoulders.
We have been pleased that my Dad has worked out in this facility. We found out very quickly that we could not care for my Dad living with us. Bluegrass Assisted Living facility was the best bet for the money and the staff. I feel that Blue Grass could use a little common sense in doing things. 1. The TV mounted over the couch is an example of things gone wrong. How can you sit on the couch and stare at a blank wall with the tv behind you? 2. A better sign out sheet, listing whom/time out and of course time in. Saves a lot of turmoil when people are not accounted for. Again it is a good facility and I have had fun times working the management staff.
Generally they do a good job here. It's a nice looking place, and it is well kept and clean. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. However, the problem seems to be that there are not enough of them. I feel like they're more worried about money than proper care, and haven't hired enough caregivers. During nights and weekends they seem very understaffed. We also had an issue with the emergency button necklaces the residents wear not being reliable.
