Brookdale Murray

My only other feedback is to be aware that each additional service is an additional charge/fee. And, that Brookdale is best suited for ambulatory elders who only require regularly scheduled checkups with doctors that come to Brookdale like[ name removed]APRN with Murray-Calloway Co Hospital. She is very good and highly recommended. My sister just had too many health & mental issues to be at Brookdale. Thanks

I visited Brookdale Murray. They had remodeled apartments, and they were nice. It was very clean, very nice, and all carpeted, indoor and outdoor. It was a nice place. The dining area was very nice. It looked like a regular restaurant. It was kept up. The staff was super good, very outgoing, and told you everything that went on. They've got a movie theater and a library. They have places there that the people can lock their apartments, go outside, and smoke. There are places where they can have one dog and one cat. They have to keep the dog on a leash when they go down the hallway to go outside. They do a good job. All the patients that I met there were very happy.

Recently, my brother-in-law moved into Brookdale Murray. Even before the move, the staff, and especially [name removed], has assisted the family and new resident in all sorts of ways. We feel very confident that this is the right place for him and we are so thankful for all the past help and continuing assistance. Thanks to a wonderful and caring staff -- they are the heart of any senior residence.

Everyone is very helpful at all time. Too cold in dining room and generally cold in public areas.

This place has been a wonderful place to be. Everyone is friendly, welcoming and very professional. I’ve always felt safe. I would recommend to others. Get the room with the vie. I’ve enjoyed my time here!

I have family at Brookdale and they absolutely love it there. The staff treats my parents like their own and that is important to us. My parents praise the staff and managers about how it is a big family there and how it is a close knit facility where everyone helps to make the place a home for their residents. I never have to worry because I know they are in good hands. I recommend this place to anyone wanting care for their loved ones.

Brookdale is a very clean and loving environment. The staff is super friendly and has many activities that the residents can partake in, including outings and activities here in the facility. My friend loves living there and enjoys it very much. I would recommend this assisted living to any person who is seeking a place for their loved ones.

It started well but has declined considerably. I think people should know to meet and talk with the people - Who will be doing laundry, cleaning your room or unit, cooking your meals etc. They will know you care (or you don't).

This is a great place for mom. Very clean and nice apartment. Very attentive staff. Excellent care for medications, cleaning laundry, just push the button if you need anything they are there quickly. I would like to live here.

I haven't tried the food, but my sister isn't a fan. It's a little expensive as my sister needs extra care/help with meds and has a dog that must be walked. Most of the staff are friendly and caring. I believe I would be happy there with all of the nice residents and activities. My sister has had a little trouble acclimating and misses her grandchildren. And, the staff is friendly with one exception. We would recommend Brookdale!

Activity Director does not provide varied and stimulating activities for 65 and younger who are cognitively intact. Activities repetitive and low level. Administrative Director stays in office and is not responsive to change. Frequent response "we are working on it"; "what do you want us to do"; or "that is corporate policy". Wellness Coordinator is a bully, protective of poorly trained and poorly paid RAs. Inconsistent in enforcement of policies. Weird policies re medication protocols. High turnover. Poor knowledge and Poor use of HIPPA

5 on everything. I feel at ease knowing that my loved one is in Brookdale Murray. Yes I would recommend this community to other families. I also would recommend a place for mom. I only had one week to find a place for my brother. I appreciate your help with that. What a blessing a place for mom is. My brother feels at home in Brookdale and receives all the care that he needs.

We loved everything about the facility, especially the people. We were welcomed by genuine and friendly staff who were willing to accommodate our needs and concerns. The food was good and we loved the apartment. Unfortunately, both of my parents got very ill and were not able to enjoy Brookdale as we hoped. But, Brookdale will definitely be an option if we need care from here. Thank you Brookdale!

I fell in love with this place the first time I came in to talk with the sales director! Very kind and caring staff! I have had my family here a little over a month and every need has been met! The director is always involved and always smiling! The assistant director is always greeting everyone as they walk thru the door (if she isn't busy!) and always makes the place feel welcoming! I just cannot say enough good things bout Brookdale I would recommend this place over any other place in Murray!

Absolutely adore all of the residents I care for here.

Our parents moved into Brookdale Murray in spring 2023 and had a wonderful experience. The staff members really care about the residents. The apartments are quite large, which made it much easier for our parents to adjust from moving from their house. My parents liked the food and visits from the chef, and we loved being welcome to join our parents for a meal. Stephanie is a caring and attentive executive director who runs the facility very well. Her team, including [names removed]and others were just wonderful with our folks, always welcoming to us and responsive to our requests. We really liked their all-inclusive management model rather than charging for individual support needs. When our father died, the staff went above and beyond to ensure mom was well taken care of and were also very caring to the family. We also really liked the ongoing socialization among the residents, and Brookdale hosts frequent social events. We highly recommend Brookdale Murray.

From my first day as a resident they made to feel at home; the work staff. treat each resident with TLC, showing by their actions they genuinely for us. Best place to live anywhere!

We had to make the decision to move my mom. The best decision we made. Brookdale had been wonderful to her and us. Answered all our questions. Family night was awesome and the food was great. I would highly recommend this place. Also Thank you to a Place for mom for finding us this place.

Even though my grandmother has only been at Brookdale Murray for a short time, I cannot say enough on how wonderful the administration and staff have been. From the first day of walking in the door to the current day. They have gone above and beyond to make sure she has been comfortable and enjoying her stay.

Employees go above and beyond for each resident on an individual basis. The activities are centered around the residents wants and needs. Residents are encouraged to engage in outings or the public is encouraged to come to brookdale for several activities to be with their friends and family. Residents are genuinely happy living here.

There are several different room types to choose from. The food is great and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. There are so many different activities to do each day and the community as a whole is managed very well.

I toured Brookdale Murray yesterday. The town of Murray, Kentucky is the kind of town I'm looking for, small and pretty much a low-crime area. The amenities there are equal to some of the higher-priced locations I've looked at. The staff was good. It's an old building. The dining area was very good, well done. It was spacious enough. I think they only have 40 residents. The rooms are a little small, but the layout is good. The place has a cordial and friendly atmosphere. I feel welcomed in that community.

When I was looking into options for my grandmother, it was obvious to me from the first tour of Brookdale Murray that this was going to be home for us. A welcoming staff in a well maintained building was what greeted us on our arrival, and after an informative tour and a great catfish lunch - I knew I was hooked! Rooms are reasonable for the prices offered, with plenty of space to create a comfortable accommodation. We received a calendar of activates and invite to events - I thought that was very nice too! I would encourage any family thinking of the next step to reach out to Brookdale Murray, they truly have something special going on over there, and it is the perfect spot to call home!

Brookdale Murray has between 4-6 activities happening a day for its residents. You can hear the laughter from the residents as soon as walk through the door. The whole staff treats everyone like family. The food is delicious and they’ve even incorporated a regional favorite, fried catfish, on the menu for every Friday. They are also pet friendly and have therapy dogs that come in as well. The local community is invited in to join weekly events. They also participate in a lot of local events within the community such as Bingo at the Senior Center and local parades and veterans events. It’s a place you’ll truly enjoy!

I highly recommend Brookdale Murray if you are looking for an Assisted Living Community in or around this area. The residents are treated like family and they have so much fun with all types of activities every day. You can’t find a better community for seniors.

Friendly staff that care for the residents like family, lots of activities daily for residents to participate in. Many opportunities for residents to voice their opinions and share new ideas. Overall great environment!

Excellent Assisted Living community with wonderful staff and residents.

All I can say is to ask a lot of questions. Ether as a new staff member or a new resident ask questions. Please ask questions. Or if you happen to take a tour ask people that are their what they think. Because they will tell you anything to get your money.

If you are looking for assisted living, please do your due diligence and compare this place to others in Murray and Benton. My parents experience at Brookdale was not great - food was terrible and their apartments were not cleaned like they needed to be. We moved them to [community name removed] and it’s fabulous. The food is amazing and it is spotless and fresh. And we are paying WAY LESS -at a better place. I do not recommend Brookdale Murray at all.

If you are looking for assisted living, please do your due diligence. Compare this place to Hickory Woods or Stilley House (in Benton) and you will probably pass on Brookdale. We just moved our parents from Brookdale to Stilley House and there is absolutely no comparison. Stilley House is amazing - food is awesome (Brookdale - it ranged from terrible to so so); Stilley House is immaculate, clean and fresh; Brookdale - really needs an overhaul in the building; and to top it off, Stilley House is several THOUSAND dollars LESS for my parents. At Stilley, they get way better accommodations; way better food; a cleaner and fresher environment for less money. Now, I understand that Brookdale is under new management once again as of the end of July 2022.(there were several in the time my parents lived there). Maybe this one will be able to make needed changes. So that’s why I say do your due diligence. Our experience is that other local places are far better currently, but perhaps that will change with time. Now that we’ve experienced a high quality place like Stilley House, I can’t with good conscience recommend Brookdale to anyone.

I chose Brookdale Murray because I liked the room sizes, they are very spacious which I love. The value for the money is great as well. I really like all of the people here, staff and residents. I would recommend them to others looking.

The tour I had with Brookdale Murray was a very nice experience. We enjoyed it. They were very informative, showed us around, and talked us through a lot of things, and explained to my mother about the daily activities and everything. It sounds like a very, very nice and comprehensive assisted living facility. It's a very, very clean building, and everything was well kept up and maintained. No bad odors or anything like that. So, it was just a pleasant experience. It had a nice atmosphere and the residents were all very nice, seemed happy, and friendly. Everybody we met was very nice and informative, and pleasant to be around too.

This community is worth checking out for your loved one. The staff care about the residents and give good quality service. I only have contact with the director and the conversations are always great and I am informed.

In fairness to the facility the kitchen was being renovated so we patiently waited and in the meantime we told the staff members specific things our loved one did not like, and even if they gave her a piece of toast and coffee they would make her the happiest women ever. However it has been about a month after renovations and still they have not brought our loved one the small things she likes. She recently found cardboard in her soup, and the other residents do not like the meals either and sometimes will refuse to eat them. The menu looks great, but its fake it is just for sure. It cleaning staff is very nice and has kept our loved ones bathroom and bedroom spotless.

The absolute BEST assisted living facility in western Kentucky! My mom lives there and loves it! The director is very caring as you can see from the photo. She made sure all of the residents and caregivers who were interested received their vaccines EARLY! They keep us up to date on Facebook, email and in person! I love it!

The staff members would be a five plus, however we do wish they had a little more nursing but the care takers there are absolutely excellent. Our loved one really enjoys the meals, and even during the pandemic they kept activities going. They are now starting to bring back all the main activities.

The rooms at this community were spacious. Our main problem that we had was with the administration staff. They would tell you one thing and do another. Our loved one needed to be moved from independent living to assisted living, we gave our 30 day notice and they still tried to charge us for the 90 days.

The community is great! My father was looking for a community and chose this one. Since his time there the community has made even more updates and renovations! I like that the staff was good to work with me to get his apartment on the first floor, the flow of the dining room and lobby area are neat/clean. Well decorated.

My uncle lived there until he passed. Hands down could not have asked for a better place for uncle [name removed] to have been. All the staff were very nice and it was a warm welcoming place.
