Calumet Trace has been a blessing for our family. From our father's previous stay to 2 years ago, we received an accommodating, warm welcome during our return this year. : )
The Staff at Calumet Trace have been very inviting, pleasant, and always greeting with sincere concern for residents and family. One of the many wonderful staff is Alfred Clifford. He was great in guiding us through the walk-through, necessary medical assessments/paperwork and always cared for our father's well-being through the process. His calm, kind disposition was encouraging and reassuring as we were making the best decision for our father. Thank you, Alfred!
There are many other amazing staff that will be included in this review and the details to follow... : )
We are so thankful for Calumet Trace. Our father's return speaks greatly of the trust we have in the care and community. Our investment in Calumet Trace's assisted living services, is returned to our father through the care, commitment and compassion of the Staff. We are so very thankful to call Calumet Trace our father's home. ❤
My dad hasn't had a bath in over eight days. Lack of dignity.
Understaffed. And borderline incompetence.
It costs too much money to receive this lack of care.
Unspecified · August 2025 Calumet Trace in Owensboro is staffed with loving caring people who regard their residents and their families as family. They go out of their way for the people they care for and assist the residents families through the labyrinth of senior care and assistance. I would recommend Calumet Trace in Owensboro to anyone looking for Memory Care, Assisted Living and Independent Living for a loved one.
Unspecified · August 2025 My name is Linda Hagan and I am a resident of Calumet Trace on the assisted living floor.
When I came to Calumet Trace-Owensboro, it was my own choice. I was no longer able to care for myself or my home. My health had declined and I could not drive, cook or clean. I had several hospital stays and a lot of pain. My 2 daughters were having to stay with me and I was not going to be responsible for breaking up homes and families.
My girls had already checked out Calumet Trace and I decided to check it out. One of the best decisions I have made at this time.
I decided this was the place for me. All the amenities I needed. Nursing care 24/7. Physical therapy 5 days a week and a nurse practitioner in the building 2 days a week but available 24/7. They provide 3 meals a day, laundry weekly and your home cleaned weekly. A hair salon is open 2 days a week on site. Activities take place all day long.
And the best part, the staff. From the front door to the back, they can’t be beat. A friendly face greets you at the door and instantly makes you feel your home. All office staff are helpful, dining services work very hard to keep everyone happy and there is an awesome housekeeping and maintenance crew. My favorite is the caregivers. All are CNA’s, well trained and knowledgeable of their duties and responsibilities. They strive to make sure their residents are cared for and our needs are met. To say I love it here is not an overstatement. But, I love it here and have now made it my forever home. I say kudos, Calumet Trace-Owensboro!

Unspecified · August 2025 My mother has been a resident at Calumet Trace Senior Living for over a year now and can’t say enough good things about the care and compassion there. The staff have been wonderful and caring. A special thanks to Gwen Lutherland, DON for always going the extra mile, as they all do!
Unspecified · August 2025 Just came to visit my aunt that is at this facility. They have a LPN running as the director that does not know what she is doing. My aunt is very upset with how they’ve been treating our cnas around here and even the nurses. No nurse should have to run all 3 floors to herself. I will be contacting corporate. Memory care is suppose to have its own nurse as it’s a locked unit.
If I could, I would rate this place a minus in every area. The right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing! My mother almost died due to untrained, unqualified, and uncaring staff. I could write a book about them. Do not place your loved one at Calumet Owensboro. They have major issues, that will make caring for your loved one a nightmare! They are overrated and overpriced. I promise you will not get the care you pay extra for. The employees don’t even know what my loved one’s care plan was, so they did nothing. They have plenty of money for parties but not enough money to make enough food for their residents and don’t even think of asking for a scoop of ice cream for your pie. Calumet Trace Owensboro deserves a score of minus all the stars in Heaven.
The decision to transition my mother into the Memory Care Unit at Calumet Trace was a very difficult one. I felt I was somehow letting her down. I remember sitting in the leasing office almost 2 years ago crying and being consoled by the Marketing Director and Memory Care Director with the assurance that everything would be ok. Since then, the staff has become like an extension of our family. The love and care they show the residents is remarkable. I couldn't ask for a better place or group of people to share this journey with us.
A beautiful community with the best staff and residents!
Calumet Trace is a wonderful place to stay,
I live in an apartment, I am free to come and go,
but I just happen to know that they have a section more secure for those who need assistance living, and they are immaculately
clean everywhere, definitely a good place to stay!
Acquaintance · February 2025 [name removed]was on the Memory Care Unit from [date removed]. We had to move him home as he was not thriving in that environment. The Memory Care Director is fabulous, but he needed one on one care. It is best for me to keep him at home and use the help of sitters.
Acquaintance · November 2024 All 5 stars!
It's the kind of place you can leave your loved one and know, without a doubt, that they will be well cared for.
Unspecified · September 2024 My grandad lives here and receives exceptional care. We love Calumet Trace and the trust we are able to place in them.
I’ve also been employed here and it’s a great place to work!
Unspecified · September 2024 This facility is not employment friendly. They allow bullying of employees and managers are aware and do nothing. Memory Care director does not treat employees on unit fairly nor family members which they are not aware of. They ask employees to go home out of blue no explanation and no justification. Upper managers do nothing about this either. They have done this to the areas best CNAs you can find with no just cause. New facility horrible people skills.
When I left my dad in the Memory Care unit at Calumet Trace last November for the first time, I knew he was in the best hands possible. The Memory Care staff treats each resident as if they are family, giving them all the love and support they need to live their best life.
It's heartbreaking and often very hard to understand what is happening to someone with Alzheimer's or dementia, but you can rest in peace, knowing Calumet Trace Senior Living knows exactly how to care for them. The entire staff take pride in making sure you and your loved one feel at home. Calumet Trace is the best decision you'll ever make!
Calumet Trace has been the best next step in care for our family members. The activities and engagement keep mother busy. When there are any changes in her condition or questions about her care the staff communicate quickly. I work in the healthcare industry and would highly recommend Calumet Trace.
Our father has lived at Calumet Trace since January of this year. The love and care by the staff has been exceptional. Meal time is one of my favorite times to visit. The fellowship that goes on around the table is wonderful, and the food great. Several residents tag team puzzles in the commons area, they have cookouts, plant flowers, and have live entertainment, For us, this is perfect place for our father!
Absolutely beautiful facility! Luxury amenities and great people! Wonderful location just right off Highway 54 close to restaurants and shopping. Definitely the best senior living community you can find in Owensboro!
