Reviews
for Carmel Manor
My father was at this location for 11 months. The food was terrible, response time for assistance was 45 minutes or longer. Some aids were good, some were terrible. For the cost I would never send a loved one to this place again. Very disappointed!
Very nice! Clean and bright, staff is very helpful.
Warning to people that have loved ones at Carmel Manor……… there is an extremely large outbreak of Covid at Carmel Manor. There is at least 14 active cases on my moms floor with Covid. This doesn’t include the staff. Tony the director and the social worker are keeping it a secret from staff and family members coming to visit their loved ones. Patients are dying from this and the excellent staff team on my moms floor are being made to work ridiculous hours, the staff is unstaffed and unsupported by the director. The cross contamination on the floors is barbaric. The top people are making all the money and the clients are giving the money…… it’s about time the staff gets protection and the clients. The health department is involved. Please check on your loved ones!!
I toured Carmel Manor. The rooms were very similar to the other community as far as nice size, neutral colors, and good lighting. The intake staff was very friendly and very helpful as far as providing information about Carmel Manor and the process. The facility was well-kept and clean.
Such a nice place to visit. It's got multiple entrances at the same address. What looks like 2 separate buildings is actually one address, with a subterranean tunnel connecting them. Workers there are very friendly. The entrances are easily wheelchair accessible, making pickups and drop-offs quite easy for clientele.
My wife developed dementia and was accepted by Carmel Manor for care on their memory care floor 12/01/2022. The facilities are very nice and the location on the river is spectacular. The Christian influence is a real plus as the sisters are always making sure that everyone is treated with care and respect. Since Tony Ughetti became director everything has greatly improved, including the ratio of in-house staff to contract, facilities appearance, food quality and monthly meetings with relatives. Although a good place for a loved one before, it’s now excellent and still improving. Highly recommend.
My family and I are very grateful for Carmel Manor. It is the best place for our mom. Daily Mass is a real bonus for my mom.
I cannot say enough good things about Carmel Manor ( Carmel) since becoming a resident in May 2023. The staff from the receptionist to the director is terrific. The healthcare providers, which are predominantly composed of Carmel employees as contrasted to"Agency" staff (external care providers) , all lead with kindness, empathy, and a strong desire to support residents well. Carmel also has caring external providers coming on- site to deliver certain medical services which is most convenient for the residents and medication management is thereby enhanced. It's maintenance, housekeeping, laundry, and dining services, too, add to the superior I care receive. The outdoor deck (and other views) overlooking the Ohio River is simply breathtaking. In sum, Carmel is a place that residents can readily call home, can have a healthy, happy life with round -the - clock care ( 24/7 ) given their unique needs by an array of healthcare providers and others. C.M.
Amazing residents. Carmel light sisters take great care of each and every person calling Carmel manor home. Unfortunately, most management has no compassion or empathy for fellow workers. Most management listens to gossip and entertains ideas without cause or proof. Currently have a suit filed for unlawful discharge, retaliation, and discrimination.
You have to stay on them about the care. Falls may not be documented, assistance requests unanswered and pay attention to th m adhering to special dietary requirements such as thickened drinks. We found cups of water left in room daily. Be sure to check invoices for add on charges for servic s not received. Stay vigilant with expectations.
You have to visit often and stay on top of care. My uncle was unable to walk and my aunt would ring for help when he needed restroom help, which almost never came. When he was in his final hour, my aunt called for help. No one came. Now, they want billed paid asap. Be sure to check monthly statements for add-ons not received.
I really liked Carmel Manor, and would highly recommend. I really feel like we got lucky to get my loved one in there. All the other better nursing homes had waiting lists. It just happened that I called when they were reopening that unit. It wasn't perfect, but I understand staff shortage issues. Most important thing is that he was happy there, always clean when we visited and they made sure he had his favorite beverages sitting by his bedside. Really can't say enough good things about the place.
Carmel Manor has absolutely exceeded my expectations in their care for my mom. I am overwhelmed with gratitude to have my mom there. My mom came to Carmel from another facility in Ohio where she had been for four years. These past four years have been so tough because her previous facility didn’t care for any of their residents well. When she moved into Carmel Manor, I was overwhelmed with the staff’s attention to detail in every area. The activities department is wonderful, the nurses and nurses’ aids are wonderful, the food smells great, and my mom is cleaned up everyday. I even noticed they had applied lotion to her legs and arms. She is so much happier than she’s been in four years and I have been able to rest for the first time knowing she is being well cared for. Carmel Manor truly values life. I believe their commitment to caring for the elderly and the unborn through their love for Jesus Christ is absolutely reflected in their care for my mom and the other residents living there.
I am honored to serve the residents of Carmel Manor. The longevity of our staff members is amazing. They care for the residents like they would their own family members.
Still haven’t paid me my two paychecks and it’s been 2 months. I call and leave messages but I don’t get anything. I’m about to get a lawyer involved
Even in the midst of a pandemic, Carmel Manor has pulled together as a team to care for its residence and staff! I am truly grateful for my coworkers and the long, lasting friendships I have formed here at Carmel Manor!
The Carmelite Sisters' home is heads over every other place around, especially since they take Medicare and Medicaid patients as well as those on private insurance or pay. The home is clean, the staff professional, and the Catholic sisters make certain every resident receives wonderful care, or else. I'd want to be here myself if needed.
I'm very disappointed in this place especially as a social worker. In recent months she's been falling almost every month if not week. My grandma is very stubborn so for awhile I blamed her for not asking for help but then recently I was disturbed by what I was hearing. Now she's in a wheel chair and she has Alzheimer's. I found out that at one point they took her to a bathroom and just left her there! And at this point she can't get up on her own! It sickened me to hear this. Her falls have been so severe lately. One severely bruised her eyes and the recent one cracked her skull! Where are these nurses?? Now I'm scared I'm going to come visit her and she'll be dead. I heard a horrible story about another family member that died and no one saw it until too late. At this point I'm looking into reporting elderly neglect because of what I'm hearing and seeing. I wanted my grandmother to die peacefully not painfully. You all make me sick.
Very clean and nice place
A nice place but very very expensive.
Same friendly staff and clean facilities in which Mom can thrive.
Great facility. Staff worked very well with it family (which can be hard to do) and they provide exceptional service, meals, and care to their temporary and long-term residents
Number one in care in NKY
Best
Staff is hit or miss. The facility for the most part is clean however the patient s in memory care seemed to be neglected. It would be nice to see them put forth more of an effort, specially for $10k a month, to provide more activities to keep them active.
Beautiful facility and wonderful care!
The people that work there are very kind very helpful to my Mother and you do feel comfortable when you're there to visit
The way that they treat their residents is excellent. The new building is very nice and homey. The staff genuinely cares about the residents and goes out of their way to be helpful to them and to their families.
Always short of staff, most workers are from agency who are no trained on facility workings and also not given help by facility staff. Would never work here nor have my family here as a patient. Most staff Nurse's are LPN's with a very limited scope of practice
Beautiful outside landscape, great view from the window in most rooms, and great staffing.
Recently renovated nursing/rehab facility
The sisters, nurses and caregivers all were angels. They preserved my mother's dignity and loved her like their own. Until she became bedridden with Alzheimer's she was up and dressed every day. She was always called by name with love and she was given all the attention we could ask for. It is worth paying more to give your mom or dad this kind of home.
Very nice workers and they have lots of activities
Typical Rehabilitation facility.
Clean and everyone is so helpful and kind.
The place is beautiful, full of faith, and the residents are well taken care of.
Great place
😍😍😍😍😍😍good place to work
Top of the chart for in house care for hopice and residential care.
Loving Care
I am very pleased with how this has gone; The staff is what makes this place go from average to excellent. The rooms are a little small, but the facility itself is really nice.
This is a wonderful place. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. They help make the transition a lot easier. They know the resident's by name and they make them feel at home. I would recommend Carmel manor to everyone looking for a safe and friendly place for their loved one.
Extremely well run facility. The staff is well trained and exhibits an exceptional amount of care and compassion to both patient and family. I would highly recommend.
