Reviews
for Clifton Heights
Terrible housekeeping. Poor management. The new company has no feelings towards staff or residents. Journey says they are making a lot but I have seen none. Very hostile work environment. Staff is constantly under the influence. Do not risk your certification/license.
Perfect example. Who is Robert Beam? This is Rick Logsdon, a friend of Hettie Kolter’s for over 50 years. This has got to be the worst nursing home in Kentucky. Hettie‘s phone never works. Never! I call to have someone check it. The patients phones are down. Seriously ! Every time I call. The patients phones are down. That’s garbage! I sat on hold for 28 minutes waiting for someone at her nurses station to ask them if they would check her phone. Never an answer. I have called the administrative person overseeing the nursing facility. Blah! Blah! Blah! never admitting the people that work there are incompetent. I have had my mother in a nursing home for several years. The Artria. It is fabulous. Excellent care. Never an incident that we are experiencing with Clifton Oaks. This place needs to be shut down. I’m going to report this place to ADP, and WAVE trouble shooter. .
This place makes me so sad. People can’t get their nails cleaned or cut, their hair doesn’t get brushed and gets matted and gross, they can’t get showers, they can’t get assistance out of bed, half of them can’t even get readjusted so they can feed themselves properly in the bed. There’s mold around the toilets. Many of the aides dont care, and the management doesn’t seem to care. They all hate the food. They don’t even get milk with their cereal or sugar with oatmeal, ketchup with French fries. If they want a salad they can have ranch dressing, that’s all, just ranch. It’s just sad here. No one should leave their loved one here. If they want “quality payor sources”, quality employees, etc sometimes you have to spend money to make money! You certainly have to put in the work and CARE! Why doesn’t the state shut this place down?
Clifton Heights is making strides in the right direction. Staff is friendly and willing to do what it takes to make the residents feel at home!!!!
I recently make a review and it was not a good one but they have now resolved the issue I do love this facility they are wonderful to work with and they do resolve anything they possibly can if it is in their control 😊.
Room was not cleaned. Bloody bogger pasted on wall. Bugs on floor. Bathroom so small my knees door. Didn't look like the photos . Horrible
Clifton Heights has had a makeover! It's so nice to see the resident's enjoying the new and updated dining room area. The fried chicken served for lunch last week was wonderful! You can really tell that the dietary care team members take pride in what they put on the plate!
You know it’s bad when the staff tells you they want someone to take legal action and to get them inspected. My mother has dementia and if they had got her paperwork from her PCP like they were told they would have known so, they also didn’t add my sister’s Power Of Attorney to my mother’s files. They fraudulently had my mother sign over her social security and saying their doctor hadn’t diagnosed my mother with dementia so they don’t believe it, even though her PCP did almost a year ago. Tell me how does a woman forget she has an almost 2yo granddaughter, forget her own daughter’s birthday by 4 years and think her son is her grandson.
Clearly this nursing home is under new management. The staff are smiling, the other residents look happy, and the food is awesome. We've had a great experience with the new Clifton!
I got my sobriety here so I am forever grateful, also like to say the photos on the main page are definitely misleading.I absolutely adore the staff and I still have some friends there I check on from time to time overall I like to thank Kyle for Amazingly great service and great support and respect and for keeping it a positive place to recover or long term, you have to be willing to do your part as well, you can't lose your own voice. This is an overall decent place to live I'm planning on visiting soon. But however to be fair I can only speak from my experience but I standby what I said about those photos on the website.
This place is disgusting. When you walk through the front door the smell of urine almost knocks you out. Gnats flying everywhere. Roaches crawling across the floor. Linen is disgusting, what linen you can find. You’ll pull “clean” linen off the cart just for it to have nasty brown stains all over it.
The place reeked of human excrement when I went to visit my brother
I've had a very positive experience at Clifton Oaks. Very nice people, excellent food !
One of the worst places I have ever been..I say this as a former nursing home an rehab facility worker..smelled of urine as soon as you enter the front door i was under their care for a week room was never sweep mopped cleaned in any way..showers in rooms don't work they want you to go to a shower room at end of hall where everyone takes showers only 2 times a week could only imagine how clean that was from the rest of their cleaning skills..had to ask them about meds an antibiotic is that they weren't giving on times they should have been it's a shame people have to be there that can't speak for their own well being..if u love your people don't send em here its not fit to house hogs in...
They are taking care of my mom and she is improving every day. The kindness has been very helpful to her recovery process. Thank you.
Well cared for. Good activities
Resident seem uncomfortable because help is very slow and there is no compassion involved. Parking for handicap is always taken by non handicap and employees. Visits by nurse staffing seems unavailable.
They treat me the way they would wanted to be treated if they were a patient here
This place is always dirty! Staff is less than efficient, care is questionable and dietary is a joke! I have made multiple complaints and nothing is ever changed!
It’s great to work with a company that puts money into their building. Fresh paint throughout hallways equals a brighter and cheerier environment for both residents and team members!
New management and staff are working hard to vamp up the building patient care is getting better and better, they are taking care of moms needs , mom seems to like her care givers , she smile when they come into her room and has actually told me “they take good care of me”
I honestly can say that my experience here was great they gave me the tools and the courage to take on life again and I'm very very grateful that I was given this opportunity to get myself straight including with my dependency and my physical defects I was able to make a change for the better
Very kind during my stay there and the staff were on top of their game at all times.
Had great caring helpful staff would recommend to anyone
The wound nurse takes her job very serious at Clifton Oaks. She goes above and beyond in her duties as wound nurse. I would tell anyone who has wound to go to Clifton Oaks and get the care it takes for a wound to heal.
I am using a friend's account, so I can rate this horrible facility! W. Risinger: Thís was the most horrible experience I could have ever encountered in my adulthood. After losing half of my leg, as if that wasn't a huge change in my life, I was transferred to this horrible nightmare. The first three days of being there I never received my pain med. I asked for them all day long and I kept getting the run around. I finally received my med on day shift, but night shift ignored me and my request the entire time I was there (a month). That lady never EVER, not even once, brought me my pain med. I JUST HAD MY LEG AMPUTATED for God's sake. Was she taking my medicine instead of bringing it to me? I bet if you look at my MARS, she more than likely signed off on it. Then you have Tonya, another rude selfish nurse, who had the audacity to ask me "if I was mad bc I lost my leg". She wasnt asking this in a questionable manner, this was more of a smart-elic type of statement. Thats not something a nurse who is supposed to remain professional at all times, should be asking anybody let alone a PT. I can complain for hours about all the horrible things that happened at this facility, but this is something I need to speak to Corporate about. I do not recommend anybody to this facility. If you love the family member you are thinking about sending to this place, RUN! You will not get adequate care. Most of these complaints should go back to the Administrator of that facility. He/she needs to get out of their office and straighten this place up, before the STATE shuts it down!! REAL TALK After reading the majority of the reviews, I have discovered this is an ongoing problem at this facility. Seems like someone is not taking these complaints seriously. Some of the 5star ratings are from their own employees. Probably to bump their rating up a little. Reviews are set in place for a person, that was previously a patient, to leave a comment for others to read, whether it is good or bad, that may be interested in this facility. Not for their employees.
I've been in Clifton Oaks Care Center for over two weeks now. I'm not happy with the medical staff. The aides and almost everybody do not listen. The food here is edible, but it's nothing special. They tried to get the meals here on time and bring snacks around. This facility is quite old, and you can see where they've had to make some repairs. My room has a TV. They have physical therapy here and people that do arts and crafts. They have groups and have trips to lunch outside.
So my review is based upon my experience with the Lotus program. Because of the support and program curriculum I have gained more confidence in my sobriety, I've been given the stability I needed to get on my feet. My future is brighter now thanks to all the staff here and the care they provide.
I can never understand why these places are allowed to get away with being terrible. Where to even begin! I spent seven weeks there and I was only able to wash my hair twice despite asking multiple times! I only got a full sponge bath once. It would take days to get me something I would ask for like a new pillowcase. The air conditioning didn’t work well, I was constantly reminding them of my doctors orders. I missed an appointment because they didn’t put it in the system. I was constantly getting horrible attitudes from the CNAs and caught one on her phone three times! She definitely did not want to actually work at her job. She even had her headphones on and ignored my call light one night. They ran out of my pain medication and lied about it to my face and they opened my mail and didn't give it to me. Do not send a family member here unless you live near by and can check on them!
My stay at Clifton Oaks came with a lot of help from staff. They were very professional and courteous to my needs. I was in the Lotus Recovery program for alcoholism and physical therapy for my heart I had an operation and they did physical therapy to help me walk and talk and talk. Thank you from me to Dez & Beth my peer support of Lotus to help with my recovery process. The classes were very helpful and gave me coping skills that I can use outside of the program. My peer support was very knowledgeable about recovery I recommend anyone who is dealing with addiction to join this program for great tools in recovery. Thank you Clifton Oates Care center and the Lotus Recovery program. Truly grateful LeByron " LB" Martin Sr.😀💕
Great place and the staff is very freindly.Like being here.
I am so very grateful for this place and this program are Clifton Oaks,Lotus has been more than I ever expected as far as the support from staff as well as other clients and the resources that have been made available to me that I was so very in need of!! I love everything about the program and plan on staying active in it even when after I leave here. I can't imagine not being a part of this awesome opportunity to help bring recovery to others that are also facing physical disabilities like myself and continue to share my strength and hope like it's being so freely and generously given to me. It's a blessing everyday and I'm grateful to say the least...Thank you
I've been here 11 months ...the new management has started to make a turn around. I came for wound care and the lotus addiction recovery...( dez and Beth) my peer support is awesome this place saved me n gave my life back. As well as down to the house keeper...D'Angelo the guy house keeper had done great at turning the building around. I can honestly say that this place had a rough start but they are defiantly improving! They helped me so much and I am bout to be released tomarow and would have not made it this far without the clifton oaks care team
Love this place❤️❤️❤️ Staff are like family and they want to make things right!!
DO NOT ALLOW your loved ones near this place if at all possible. This place is dirty, needs serious repairs. The pics on the website are deceptive. Night shift steals the patients meds by telling them their cut off. Hoping the patient does not complain and when they do, they claim the pharmacy messed up. 😔😬😡
I am a resident currently and the staff here does that not treat its residents very well. Now there are some nurse's and cna's that are nice but there are more who don't. I wouldn't recommend this place at all if you care about your friend or family member.
My nephew is a patient there. He had a massive stroke. I have called several times and no one answers and still waiting after 2 weeks for a call back. He was put in a bed without rails and fell out and blacked both eyes and put a knot on his head. Which could have been prevented if he had been put in a bed with rails. Also a nurse jerked his feeding tube out and between the fall and the feeding tube he had to be taken to an emergency room. He has informed me that he has not been given a bath since he's been there. And I need to talk to someone to discuss what has happened to him and what is not being done for him. UPDATE I have met with Ms. Jennifer and I am beyond happy on how fast she addressed my complaints and acted upon them. Yesterday after visiting Clifton Oaks I left with a better overall feeling with their care. Communication is a must. I was very pleased with the center and everyone was so friendly and kind. We need more people in the medical field like those at Clifton Oaks!!!
The **NEW**Clifton Oaks TEAM is a team that will make it happen. Everyone has a common goal of making this diamond 💎 shine. Would love to welcome any new employee or resident into our family.
The worse place ever they was not using gloves its a mess and my father would still be alive if he went somewhere else they killing folks with covid
They treated my boyfriend like he was nobody. Didn't do his bandage changeable wound care as directed so his foot didn't heal back properly. The nursing staff were, "Too Busy" to help him walk outside for almost 24 hours straight. He complained about the staff the entire time he was there. They need to shut this place down ASAP!!!
I LIVE NEXT DOOR TO THIS AWFUL FACILITY!!! I HAVE BEEN AWAKENED BY YOUR STAFF AT 3 IN THE MORNING!!!!! I AM DISABLED AND DO NOT APPRECIATE THE NOISE!!! THERE WAS AN OLD CHAIR YOUR EMPLOYEES THREW OVER THE FENCE!!! I LEFT A MESSAGE, IF I DO NOT RECEIVE A CALL BACK I WILL START CALLING ALL THE NEWS CHANNELS!!! AND THE COURIER-JOURNAL!!! I HAVE PICTURES!!! I THOUGHT THE OWNERS AND THEIR STAFF WERE QUALIFIED TO BE IN THIS PROFESSION TO TAKE CARE IF OUR LOVED ONES!!!! I CAN NOT TELL...
My sister was at this horrific place I wouldn't take a dog there I had to call them on the phone and tell them to pick her up out of the floor As the director showed up and then they closed the window so that we couldn't see what was taking place then they shipped her off to the hospital alone and now they still act like she's there and collecting money through government and we can't get the assistance that she needs because of this place They have it as her release date 2022 she's not been there since may of this year I've called numerous times for months and cannot get a answer they put me on hold pass me from one person to the other these people are incompetent We can't even get her personal belongings back I beg anyone please reconsider taking your loved ones to this place And they say they're under new management if that's what they call it a dog at the pound would be better than what this place provides
It's ok 😊
No one answers the phone or returns voicemails
My Mother was given a false diagnosis of a serious medical condition while she was a resident, an assessment was done on her by a speech technician while she was on a medication that caused her to act irrationally, the DON never provided me with a name or the data that was used to come to this ridiculous conclusion by a speech technician with whom CAN NOT make a medical diagnosis. The DON gets very defensive when questioned, not sure where she received her education, but to take the word of someone other than a MD, her money was wasted. Phone calls are very rarely returned except when it is to benefit them. I also asked numerous time for a print out of my Moms medication and I never received it. My Mom was recently transferred to another facility and the nursing staff as well as the leadership team have major concerns with the notes from Clifton that were put into her records . So glad to have her out of this dump!!!
This place is dangerous do not send your family member there! My family member went there this morning. She has sat all day no medications what so ever till after 9 pm. Dinner tray and sugar snacks for a diabetic were not healthy what so ever. Broken toilet told to go in someone else's room. No answers to call light for almost 2 hours. If i could give negative stars i would. This place should not be open at all. No management staff in the building. I could go on but i think I made my point. I will be filing complants with the health dept and the state as well as a lawyer.
Place isn't even worth a star, have a family member there, no medications, no nurse interactions, clogged up toilet in the room, patient was told to use another patients restroom who was under isolation. Already got calls into the state to file a formal complaint Monday. This place needs to be shutdown, and I'm going to do everything in my power to make it happen.Only reason I left one star, was becuase it was the only way I could post the review
This campus is under new ownership and it shows! They have a very motivated Executive Director and Director of Admissions who are working diligently to bring changes into this building. They have an amazing team on board who truly care about making a difference in the lives of those that they serve!
I couldn’t be more happy that I became part of such a compassionate team, the management team consist of some of the strongest, most caring people I have ever met. The team is driven by doing the best and right thing for our residents all the time, providing exceptional care and customer service is the goal because when your here your family.
