Reviews
for Dominion Senior Living of Frankfort
It's always clean. Staff seem to really care about the residents. We would absolutely recommend the community to other families based on the experience so far.
I would give them all a 10. Out experience there was great. The staff was wonderful and helpful. Activities were great. It was expensive, but well worth the money.
It is a good place for care! The staff truly cared about the residents. Their job was a ministry to them. They tried to meet the different individual needs of the residents.
I tried to resolve an issue and got hung up on and wouldn't take anymore calls. I will be following up. Been in healthcare over 20 years and this place is the worst I've come across as in trying to talk to someone. Angie is the very person who doesn't like to resolve issues and she runs the place.
Our mother has loved being a resident at Dominion. She is well cared for by helpful and kind staff. The many and varied activities keep her mentally and physically active. We know the Lord has blessed us giving our mother a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable home.
The staff is amazing! They always strive to interact with all the residents and deliver care and concern! Wonderful environment for seniors!
My mother has only been a resident of Dominion Senior Living in Frankfort for a short time, but we have been absolutely delighted with the facility, staff and the care she has received. It has truly been an answer to prayer, and I recommend it to any family looking for a caring, comfortable residential facility for a loved one.
I am so thankful to have found the Dominion Respite Memory Care for my mom. She has dementia and this program has allowed my family and me to take a vacation and visit out-of-state family for the holidays. After calling and visiting several places, I liked that Dominion had a smaller and more intimate Memory Care unit where mom wouldn't get lost in the shuffle. Each time I visit she is eating or dancing or engaged with one of the staff. Despite the dementia she is very active and she's always up and doing something. I also appreciate that the staff is very friendly, easy to work with and always giving me updates on what mom has been doing since my last visit.
Dominion has been a wonderful and beautiful place for my mother in law to live since assisted living was needed. Before we decided on Dominion, we had so many questions. Lauren made us feel so at ease by quickly and professionally answering every question we had. She always makes us feel welcome when we visit and is always willing to help with whatever we need. The director, Angie, is wonderful. Her door is always open to talk to or help with paperwork. We’ve seen her help during dining time or in other areas as needed. She’s very compassionate about the residents and their families. Any of the staff in any area have been open to help and offer to help as needed. Dominion has provided assistance such as housekeeping, laundry, dressing, bathing, and giving meds. We were pleased that PT, OT, and speech therapy were given on site. Activities such as bingo, devotions, puzzles etc are offered daily. The staff come around to remind about the activities when it gets close to the time for them to begin. Other schools and churches and groups and individuals come to entertain too. Staff come around to remind that it ‘s time to eat. My mother in law circles what she wants to eat for each meal from a variety of foods from a menu provided the day before. We are so grateful that my mother in law has settled in and has made enough improvement to be moved down a level of care since she has been at Dominion. It has been a blessing to have her taken care of so wonderfully.
Dominion is wonderful! My mother has been there almost 4 years.
My opinion was it was a very nice looking place. She was there two days they sent her to hospital and then notified me she couldn't come back so I had to move her again. Last year was horrific. They made it even worse. Get an elder care lawyer to teach you the steps. Most people have no idea what they are doing and are desperately looking for guidance.
Seemed to be a nice place, but as time went on, I was not at all happy. The doctor and three nurses told me to get him out of Dominion ASAP and they said not to delay even if I had to take him out of there myself.
The staff go out of their way to do anything they can for our loved one as well as for us, when we are visiting. We transferred our loved one from another facility to Dominion of Frankfort. He has done so much better since the transfer. I’m so glad ‘A Place For Mom’ recommended them to us.
I would not recommend sending anyone to the Dominion. First, we paid extra for my father to have the call button since he was an one person assist to help him in the bathroom in the shower. What would a typical older person do if they press the call button that they wear around their neck, and no one comes? people would push the call button again, correct? Well at their senior living facility if you press it a second time, the call button is turned. They also told my father to quit pushing the call button and took it away from him. That is bullshit! Secondly, as I stated earlier, my father was a one person assist. They refused to help him on and off the toilet. They refused to help him take a shower. I honestly believe that putting my father in the dominion contributed to an earlier death. When he was admitted the last time to the hospital, he was diagnosed with malnutrition in dehydration. and where was he living at that time? The Dominion. My father was supposed to start physical therapy within 10 days of the start of his residency, that did not occur. My father was also supposed to be on insulin and blood thinners at his stay at the Dominion. They were not giving him insulin or his blood thinners because I don't know why they could never tell me the reason why he could not get his medicine. The memory care unit at the dominion is a joke, the ones that were in diapers, wet and smelly diapers all day. They were only nice when they knew somebody was around. The first day we moved my father in, my son press the call button. No one came so he gave them a a bad review on Google. The next day I went to go visit my father I get called into the office and got yelled at because of a review that my son put based on his experience with his grandfather at this living senior facility, I'm sure I can go on for another 10 pages, but in my personal experience, this place needs to be shut down.
My friend stayed only one (1) night at the Dominion. Although we didn’t know it at the time, she was beginning to deteriorate badly, both physically as well as mentally. After falling three times her second day there, I was called and told she was being taken to FRM=C; they were afraid she’d broken her hip. The next day, I was called and told she could not return to the Dominion. I’m still waiting for a partial refund of her first month’s rent, more than two months after she left the facility and three weeks after she died.
My mother is living at Dominion Senior Living for the second time! I highly recommend this facility for your loved one. Angie and Sydney and all of the other employees truly care about the residents who live here. I find peace knowing my mother is being cared for by loving, dedicated people. My mother is very happy living at Dominion and we are blessed to have this facility available. If you have been looking for a wonderful place for your loved one, you can count on Dominion Senior Living!
My mother moved in last week. The staff are very prompt and helpful.
My dad was a resident for the last twenty months of his earthly life. The staff here meant the world to him and truly became his friends. No matter whether he was struggling or having a great day, their love and care were unwavering. Our family is exceedingly grateful for Dominion Senior Living of Frankfort.
I have recommended them several times. Picked because of location and was impressed with original visit.
I liked the fact that Dominion Senior Living of Frankfort was a newer facility. It's maybe less than 5 years old, I believe. The staff was great. They were very friendly. Any question that I had, there was an answer. They showed me around the facility. They were very helpful. Some floors were a little dirty here and there. The back of the living facility itself was backed up by an interstate, so it was very noisy. And the front of the facility was in the back of Wal-Mart, so all you see is the roof of Wal-Mart. It was not very aesthetically pleasing.
Staff interaction/communication is excellent. They are taking very good care of mother in law. They relieved us of a big burden and have been wonderful. I would recommend to others, and I already have.
Dominion Senior Living of Frankfort was a very nice place. The food and dining area were excellent. We visited the memory care and the place looked brand new and spotless. It looked like they just built the place, so it was clean as it can be. The lady that did the tour was very pleasant and very helpful. She was concerned about mom, but once we found out that mom didn't qualify for there, she still was trying to help locate a place for mom.
Our family had an in person tour and we felt it had great facilities, it was just much more expensive for what we could afford. They had really nice folks there.
Dominion of Frankfort is the place to go when needed. We've been very pleased. They take good care of our loved one and watch over her. She likes the food. And they seem to include us a lot and encourage family involvement.
My family and I would like to thank the staff at Dominion for being so kind and understanding while trying to find a place for my Papaw. Unfortunately, he was only able to stay here 2 nights before his condition worsened and he passed away. We know that he felt comfortable enough to finally be able to relax and let go. When we came to retrieve his personal items, the nurses and staff expressed their condolences and we really appreciated that. We wish he had more time because we feel in our hearts he would've truly enjoyed it there. Again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Everyone has been super with my loved one-maybe expand the menu more. The staff communication with the family has been exccellent.
I'm not happy with them and wouldn't recommend the community to anyone. The community was supposed to start Physical Therapy with my loved one and they never received this. The family had to pay for the pendant to call for assistance for our loved one to use. There was a time that the staff told my loved one to stop pressing the pendant because they were pressing it too much. Also, if the resident pushed the button it would clear the original time stamp. The family even saw that it took more than 5 minutes and the staff never show up after the call button being pushed. The family was left alone with all memory care residents during meal times. There is one staff member for 17 residents. I feel the staff aren't trained that the community hires people off the street. My loved one was sent to the hospital from the community dehydrated, malnourished and pneumonia. The staff would walk away from assisting my loved one with showering, even though the family requested assistance with showering.
Dominion Senior Living of Frankfort was nice and new. The staff was very friendly and informative. The rooms were nice and roomy. They have lots of different activities to do. Everybody knew everybody and got along. The surroundings were nice and pleasant. I just loved that it had a sense of community.
Our family has had a good experience at Dominion of Frankfort. It's a beautiful place, inside and out. The nurses are good. The staff are friendly and take good care of their patients. And the facility is clean and smells good.
Our family had an in person tour and it was a really nice community and friendly staff but wasn't going to work for our loved one
Looks like a very well run, clean facility that cares for their residents with activites, nurses and physical therapy on site. On move in day, my grandpa was given a pendant to press in case they needed help. With my grandpa being a fall risk and not being able to do a lot on his own, we pressed it to give it a "try" and see how quickly staff would respond. It didn't appear like that button generated any urgency in the response as we waited for about 10 minutes and nobody responded. I left my grandpa while he still had family there - I hope if he falls they are able to respond faster than it appeared they would. That was a little concerning.
This place is infested with bedbugs. Yet, they are still giving tours to unsuspecting families. This is supposed to be a Christian organization but they aren't telling their clients about this problem nor many other problems they have like misappropriation of property, medication errors and neglect due to poor staffing.
It is all about the money and management is not professional at all. They take no blame for anything and are backstabbing. State needs to come in and see how they run this place because they would know it is not assisted living and in reality, a nursing home. Management is sickening and do not care about the residents. Resident assistants, most are good, and some are unprofessional/need more training since the place wants to be a nursing home. Executive Director and Director of Wellness are snakes and I would not trust them. State has been called regarding the many issues with this place.
Great staff, and exceptionally clean and organized facility. We moved our senior from a home in Lexington to The Dominion. Everything that facility did wrong, The Dominion does right. Very positive attitudes, great communication, flexible rules, truly caring caregivers. While the cost is more than some homes, the return on investment is worth it, for both the resident and the family's peace of mind. Recommend.
Proud to be part of the care they give each and everyone in their community. Nice place to leave a love one.
It takes a lot to have to move a parent or loved one form their home. There are so many emotions the family has to deal with and the ultimate decision to do something needs to be in the best interest of your loved one. Amy D. and Krystal M. came and met with us one and one and discussed The Dominions offerings. We visited and the staff made us comfortable and we made the right choice. I even said, I would not mind living here! The staff is attentive and they truly care about the residents. After a couple of months of living there. I picked my mother up and took her out for a family function, her exact words "I sure hate to leave this place, its so nice here". She has a lot of friends that she has known her entire life there. As many activities the keep my mother socially involved and keeps her mind stimulated. She seems to actually be doing better here than living at home with care. Thank you Amy, Krystal, Dorisene and ALL the staff for taking great care of our family members. Highly recommend. FG
Make sure that you reach out to the staff to get information because nothing is volunteered to the family. There is no sharing of information on how your loved one is doing. Make sure to stay involved and be an advocate. They also have 19 Covid cases in the facility as well. They are still allowing family to go in even with these positive cases.
Lovely facility. staff is attentive Our father was a resident at the facility from May through October. We could not have asked for better care from anyone. The administration staff is attentive, caring and helped our family with concerns as they came up. Amy, Krystal and Tammy were all very involved with dads care. They listened to us and helped make dad as comfortable as possible while he was there. Thank you to all of the staff from the kitchen staff, the personal aids and administrative folks who help make Dominion a home. L. Jacobs
My first view of Dominion of Frankfort was driving up Leonardwood Drive- it was there on the left looking like a big country home amidst big trees and beautiful landscaping. I had a good feeling at that moment that this would be a great place for my mother. When I walked in the door I was met by the administrator Amy Hagler Day. She was warm and welcoming and had a wonderful energy and friendly manner. The inside of Dominion is open and bright- with lots of warm lighting and a homey atmosphere. The colors, ranging from gray to shades of green make it seem calm and comfortable and the furnishings are tops-notch, cozy and serviceable. My mom has been a resident of the community since late May 2019. Her studio apartment is her new home and we were able to make it completely hers with furnishings and decor. She brought along furniture, pictures, and mementoes that make this place a happy place for her. The staff is friendly and so willing to engage the residents as well as family members. They are very busy but always willing to answer questions or stop for a brief chat. There are activities every day that are stimulating, spiritual, or just plain fun and residents can choose what to participate in. The wellness staff is understanding of different and changing needs and keeps me and my siblings informed, as well as caring for my mother with a professional and affectionate attitude. I knew from the very beginning that this place was for my mother. I want her to have the best, and as she has aged even more and requires more aid for daily activities the staff has adapted to those needs. I recommend this place with my whole heart.
We chose Dominion of Frankfort because of the convenient location and compared to others we looked at, it was cleaner, staff were friendlier, and we felt we were getting optimum care for the amount of money. We could not ask for better care. It is a very homey like environment and I would definitely recommend to others looking.
We moved our Dad into the personal care apartment here, about 3 months ago. He was quite resistant at first, and was certain he would not adapt well and wouldn't like it. After a few weeks, he got set up with PT, the staff was so friendly and checked on him regularly, always made him feel at home and started coming out of his shelland his room more! He has grown leaps and bounds, he's moving around much better and gaining strength, at 79 years old we didn't think that was possible. We worked with Amy and Cicily in the beginning, they came to our home to meet us and our Dad, and we felt comfortable and at ease with them right away. I cannot praise Krystal enough, she is the Wellness Director, and she came on board around the same time we moved him in, she has been AMAZING. She goes out of her way to make sure everyting is ok with him, she sets aside time just to check on him and help him feel at home. She's understanding and truly compassionate. I cannot say enough praise about her. My Dad has specific dietary needs and Chris and the kitchen staff are so understanding, they go above and beyond to make sure he's getting food he can eat, the aids are wonderful as well, to be completely honest, I could live here, it has such a comfortable, homey vibe. I highly recommend the Dominion Senior Living in Frankfort, hard to believe there's such a diamond in the ruff here in little old Frankfort!!!
This is too expensive for what you get. Mostly because of the meals. Told us that they were going to start charging us $5 a meal to take it up to my loved one when they were unable to come down to eat. However, the people are very friendly.
They are an excellent facility!! I have no worries that they are taking great care of my mom.
The staff is very professional and helpful. They truly care about the residents and are very accommodating. The community is neat and clean and I would recommend this community to others based on my experience
Dominion Senior Living is an awesome facility! Our mom has been there about two years and the staff are wonderful, caring and compassionate! As you walk in the building there is a statement, "Honoring God through service to Seniors" and we have seen the staff living that out daily. Also, their executive director, Amy Hagler, with overall leadership of the team at Dominion Senior Living Frankfort is excellent and sets the example for all those she leads. During the pandemic I was so thankful to the Lord that mom was with the team at Dominion. I would rate 10 stars if possible!
I chose Dominion because it was the best in the area. My room is very big, I have 2 bedrooms and a big closet, I cannot complain. I do know that they have different sizes as well to choose from. Overall, it has been a good experience and I would recommend them.
Dominion Frankfort is more than a community. It is more than a building filled with residents and workers. It is more than a facility that house seniors. IT’S A FAMILY. One of the initial things that branded my heart when I first came to Dominion was the warm, peaceful, and lively atmosphere. Everyone here is so welcoming and positive. You can sense the presence of God throughout the building and through the attitudes of the staff. You will always see people with smiles on their faces, going above and beyond at their job. In such a time where the entire world has been dealing with such tragedy, Dominion has truly stepped up as a team and as a family to take care of the residents, reach out to the families and support the team members that work every day, nonstop. There are so many fun activities that the team members do with the residents at Dominion that you can tell the residents richly enjoy. From manicure mondays, to karaoke night, to bingo, to movie night. At Dominion, the team work extremely hard to interact with the residents and make their stay here feel like a home rather than a temporary visit. I truly believe that Dominion is a divine home! Families that move their loved ones into Dominion are not moving them into a facility for seniors, but a home where their newfound family is awaiting to take care of them. You will not be disappointed if you make the decision to be apart of the Dominion Frankfort Family!
This is a very friendly community. The staff are very attentive and caring with the residence. I would like to see the communication get better between the family and the directors. I would recommend this community to others.
Mom actually lived in Dominion Senior Living of Frankfort a year ago. I thought I was going to move her out of there because she had gotten dehydrated but I moved her back, and worked out with the administrator ways to keep her hydrated, and she's been really well. They've been more engaging so I've been very pleased with what they provided, and the pricing is very reasonable too. It's very open, very inviting, and very clean. It's a new facility; it's only been opened about two years, it's got tall ceilings, and it's a Christian organization so they always have scripture, and that kind of thing. I felt at home there. Before Covid, they had stuff every month, either doing things in the facility like painting, and when they could get out, they went to wine tastings, and they went to different things in Kentucky that were of interest to the seniors. They also volunteer at some of the places here. When my mother first moved there, they had collected school supplies, they took them to one of the schools there that needed supplies. At Christmas, they collected personal care items for a facility that needed those. Since covid, they had to be creative. They've done a lot of things in the facility like they did a hot cider tasting test; two of the people working there made the cider, and let the residents test it. They have a talent contest where all the staff participate, and everybody votes. They used to have dinner every month for the families, sometimes an Elvis impersonator would be there.
I have almost been a member of the Frankfort Dominion Senior Living family for a month! It has been an incredible experience filled with many laughs, silly moments, and countless smiles! I have been blessed to meet many incredible residents and staff members. During this difficult time it is reassuring to come to work with residents and staff members who are uplifting and joyful. We are all unified in the love and will of God, and continue to care and serve one another despite our current challenges.
