Reviews
for Elizabethtown Nursing & Rehabilitation Center
As I write this review, I am currently a resident. It's about 8p on a Saturday and I've been waiting on a bedpan for almost an hour to relieve myself. I can hear personnel laughing and talking down the hall. My hallway alert light has been on for almost an hour, as well! Several staff have walked pass my open door and done nothing. They pretend not to hear me when I call out. I'm referring to the weekend evening staff. Day and evening shifts during the week are amazing professionals. They are attentive to resident needs. Overall, there is room for lots of improvement. ( ....written in real time and firsthand 21 Jun 25)
I would like to give heads up to Shmecka and Shay as they were the biggest help to me while at Kensington Rehab. They helped me with the exercises and daily activities! Other than the meals, I have no complaints.
I am a newer employee (about six months) here at Etown and want to commend the newly hired/promoted management team we have here. The knowledge that they all bring to the table and changes of improvement and growth I am seeing and experiencing is great to be apart of. What a great year we are having and I see it only getting better and better. Thank you Etown for allowing me to be a part of this wonderful team! GO ENRC :)
Would not recommend this facility at all. I was told to put my mother here from someone who worked there and I did she was there for about 3 months in that time she only had 2 baths bc they wouldn’t give her a proper bath they would not listen to her needs when she would tell them she didn’t feel right with that being said she was hospitalized twice withen 3 weeks and both times the doctors said she was close to death bc the nursing home wasn’t taking good care of her almost losing my mother twice in less then a month over mistakes they did is absolutely insane and not okay. They messed with her insurance and stated the pt did not comply without even speaking to her about a renewal. I personally was visiting one day and hear a man screaming for a good 5 min when I decided to leave I seen the man on the floor by the front door screaming his blood sugar as low and they weren’t listening mind you the gentleman had no legs. When I walked around the corner 5 staff that was sitting at the counter eating not paying attention then decided to go help him and move him so I could get out the door witch is unacceptable that poor man. My mother states they were very rude especially night shift. Putting a family member in a home is already sad and terrifying and getting calls from the hospital social workers about the conditions they put my mother in was even worse. We finally were able to move her to a nicer facility and things seem to be a lot better. From my opinion I wouldn’t put any body you love here. This facility might just make there life span even short unfortunately.
Staff unknowledged on certain processes that seem mandatory for every day care in that facility. Staff unfortunately not very friendly for a facility that is supposed to be trusted by ones family.
This place is awful. My mom ended in the hospital with a bladder infection because the staff (specifically) 3rd shift do not do their job. They will leave catheter bags unattended all night. I’ve had to call up to this place I can’t tell you how many times to complain. Trying to call up there late in the evening to talk to someone is next to impossible, even a RESIDENT answered the phone. SMH. The food they serve there isn’t enough to feed a 2 year old. My moms belongings, money and food have been stolen from her or lost. A CNA was too busy on a personal phone call and almost dropped my mother in the floor. One hand her cellphone and the other hand trying to give my mom a lift assist… ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? My moms roommate witnessed it. My moms wheelchair was damaged and it kept cutting my moms arm up. My mom has told them to fix it for weeks and they haven’t yet. They even told my mom one night ( who has an amputated leg) if she needed a lift assist to go out for a smoke break she couldn’t go. I had to call up there and tell them to get off their ass and take her out. This place is absolutely trash. They treat the residents like garbage. They say they give good care to patients which is a lie. They went several weeks without giving my mom any kind of shower or bath. The only reason she got one was because I called and complained. They’ll leave her sitting in a brief for 2 days… I mean, would you want to wear underwear 2 days in a row?? Same thing applies to disposable briefs! Especially wearing a catheter and a wound vac. This place needs to be investigated and shut down.
I have a loved one at this particular hellhole. They have lost his belongings. They forgot to give him his breakfast and lunch trays. Seldomly check on him for needs like emptying his urinal. The neglect is disheartening. This place needs to be shut down. I cannot see how this place has positive reviews. Stop lying to these people that they will be treated with the best care because from what I seen, this does not happen at this facility.
A friend of mine is there now ..She has not recieved any of her medications . She’s lying in a “dirty” bed not one nurse has come to even check on her .she is begging for help . I’m not able to get to her at this time I don’t live in KY LORD HELP HER . Thank you to her roommates visitors that have assisted her . I’ve been on phone I can hear everything going on in her room . This is shameful 😤
My mother-in-law stays here and she loves it. She has been to the one in Whiteville and Lake Waccamaw and she hated it and she didnt get any better but here she is almost back to her old self. The staff is incredible and so friendly.
This is the absolute WORST place to send anyone you love to. They do NOT check on patients & their care is lacking TREMENDOUSLY. This place is outdated & disgusting & the staff acts like they care & promise that your loved one is in good hands BUT in the few short days my family member was there showed otherwise. She was taken out IMMEDIATELY. HIGHLY do NOT recommend!!!!
So my wife been here for almost 2 years all I can say is how is this place still opened and that's based on what I have seen cause that's enough for me to ask how it's still opened I couldn't even imagine what these patients have seen or even gone through cause they can't leave and have no choice but to see and hear cause I'm not thier 24 /7 but the things I've seen and heard and my question is anyone that works here have a loved. One that's I n nursing home if so I bet if they do they notin this facility and it killed me to have to leave her here
My mother was in there for 3 months, she still having nightmares. All they want to do is over medicated her,,They kick her out, because I refuse there treatment..(zombie)They said she did this and this, they not telling everyone the truth, she was over medicated, when she did these things.,They had her on wrong medications..They want you stay in bed,so they don't want to take care of you.All the patients there acts like zombies..If you alsleep when meals comes around, they do not wake you,you miss your meals..If you can not feed yourself, good luck..she had only two baths,When they kick her out, they kept all her medication, they don't care, even she was on heart medication..Most of her clothes was stolen, her shoes, sweater. They tell you lies after lies..You ask one nurse something, another nurse tell you different thing,,said she was tested positive for covid, never did have it,She stayed with UTI,,When got kick out she had e-coli in her urine, said she don't have it no more, took her to hospital still had it.,Most of the workers stays out side smoking,or on there phones..If you have family members in there, please check on them often,or put them else where..We have to come twice a day,,made sure she was feed, and her bed change, and her clothes. The patients screaming for the nurses to change them,,or hanging off their bed or they are hungry..For hours..There lights flashing for hours. The place smells of urine and feces..Some of the nurses is rude and don't even look up at you..If you ask them for something they act like it coming out of their pocket,if you get it..I can go on and on..I give you all a score of less than a 0..
Tonya was an excellent person to help us through a hard time in our lives. She walked us through the entire process, made us feel like we were making a decision we could live with. The patience she had was like no one has ever taken the time to help us. The facility is beautiful. The staff were nice. We will never forget this experience that Tonya guided us through. We will recommend to everyone. Thanks to Signature for what they done for us. Huge thanks to Tonya!
Let's be honest I hate I had to give them one star! My grandmother is here and this place is disgusting! It smells horrible! The food is trash servicing cold "hot food" they don't take care for the residence. They don't even try! I can't wait to get my granny out of here 😩
This is NOT A SKILLED NURSING FACILITY! Neglect and abuse are common place! “You will lay in this all weekend!” …”We are short handed so our patients don’t all get cared for there is not enough staff.” The only efficiency at this facility exists in administration with billing!
very rude people...
The administrator is unprofessional. On multiple occasions has yelled at staff members correcting them in the open for others to see and hear ,rather then behind closed doors. Constantly under staffed , causing residents to not be able to get the proper care that they need. But overall facility is clean , neat and majority of the staff is friendly and caring..
My mom is new resident and this covid hit as soon as she went here. They are great! They keep me updated on mom and have sent me pics. Finally with the booth the set up I got to visit her. It meant so much. Thank you all.
The staff is great. They really care about all the residents and their families. Highly recommend this facility
Great group of people.
Great facility!
Nice facility. Clean, neat, well staffed. Staff friendly, professional and loving to their residents. Many and varied activities for all types of residents.
These guys are amazing. I can't say enough good things about the staff. Leanne thank you for everything. I believe that people make all the difference and these guys know how to pick them.
The staff here are so kind and helpful. I appreciate the joy and happiness Leanne Ward brings to patients and visitors.
A wonderful place. Always so clean and the people are super friendly
Loretta Sosh is the best!! Always has a smile and is very helpful!!!
When checking out the place for future family admission the first thing I noticed was how friendly and professional the staff is next was for being an older facility it was maintained very well unlike other newer facilities I have visited in my search. I must say it will be at the top of my list.
Qualified and skilled staff, great facility for therapy and nursing care!
Compassionate staff, truely puts the residents first and foremost. EXCELLENT ADMINISTRATION STAFF,
Leanne Ward (nurse) is very pleasant, helpful and I like being around her.
Great facility and caring people. Leanne Ward went above and beyond caring for my dad. I highly recommend them.
The staff at Elizabethtown Nursing and Rehab are excellent. They care about their residents and do lots of activities to keep them from being bored or staring out the windows. The building is old but kept very clean. I would definitely put a loved one in this facility.
