Reviews
for Friendship Health & Rehab
My Mother has been at Friendship twice for rehab. Prior to her first admission, I worked with the hospital social worker, did research and asked for personal experiences to find the best fit for her. Friendship went the extra mile to be sure a bed was available upon release from the hospital. She could not have been happier with our choice! She loved the facility and every therapist, nurse, administrator and employee treated her like family. She made wonderful progress and was able to go into personal care upon release. After another hospitalization, there was no decision. Friendship had won her heart. Covid had kicked in at that time but I knew she would get great care even if I could not visit. Friendship used FaceTime and window visits to keep us in touch! Again, her progress allowed her to return to assisted living. I can’t speak more highly of the entire staff at Friendship! Wonder experience!!
In Jan 2019, we faced the very difficult decision of placing mom into a skilled care facility. After engaging & visiting numerous places, we chose Friendship Health. From the get-go, Admissions & Finance Depts were warmly sincere, most versed, & clearly demonstrated their vast expertise in these matters. They had the answers for all our questions & addressed every concern. During moms first week, she repeatedly told us how pleased she was to be there. Our mom has a sharp mind, so she can advocate for herself. However, she was in need of physical support. It’s been 6 weeks now & they’ve worked SO VERY WELL with her that she’s entirely self sufficient, & she hadn’t been in 10 years! We.are.amazed! The OT, PT, nursing staff, & all support staff encourage her, work with her & have made her feel secure in her new home. The Dept heads communicate frequently with me by phone (I’m in TX, so I’m only there once/month), but I’m convinced it was the best decision. We talk with mom every day & she sounds great. The success she’s had here has definitely relieved us of some normal family guilt. We hope & believe your family will experience the same excellent service from Friendship Health & Rehab.
I can sleep easy at night knowing my loved one is being attended to at Friendship Health & Rehab. The staff at Friendship is attentive and proactive in their approach at caring for their patients. I will forever be indebted to Friendship for their level of care and service.
Absolutely would not recommend anything about this place
My husband came here for short term rehab after a fall at home. We toured several facilities but really felt at home there and I’m so glad we chose Friendship! Our experience was amazing and I can’t tell you enough about how wonderful this place is. He loved the food, all the nurses and aides that took care of him, and the therapists who were very encouraging. It was top notch. I would recommend Friendship Health and Rehab to anyone looking for short term rehab.
Terrible in this facility, I visited my father last week, when I got there I felt like I was going to cry, they didn't clean him up, his nails were dirt I think for 2 months he spent there ,they have never washed him up, that night they rushed him in emergency room, when I went to see him ,he looked the same, never washed him up, I never recommend this facility to anyone I know , CNA you know your duty, treat them like the way you want to be treated.
Absolutely terrible. My grandpa is in there now and honestly we are going to move him. There is no bed rails on the sides and in general the beds absolutely suck they are tiny he isn’t short enough to actually fit in the bed. There is one nurse and aid to 15 PLUS PEOPLE. If we weren’t there he wouldn’t even be in the bed and they didn’t even have a pad on the bed. I will never wish that someone has to stay here. There is never anybody at the nurses station. Never go there.
From the first phone call, first visit, and to the current time, I have not met one staff member at Friendship Manor, from top to bottom, who has not been more caring and helpful to take meet the needs of my dear sister who has Alzheimer's. It is amazing how the various services work in unity to provide individual attention to the residents and family members. It is comforting to know that my loved one is in their care. I am forever grateful. God bless.
They take EXCELLENT care of my 93 year old bed bound, late stage dementia mother. She is always clean, groomed, washed, fresh clothes and bedding. The facility smells lovely, the nurses and aides are super friendly. I'm happy to have found such a wonderful end care health facility. 💕
Today I said goodbye to my grandmother who passed away. She was admitted to the hospital 10 days ago for a seizure caused by glucose levels of 820+ and severe dehydration. The most disappointing thing to hear was that although she has had diabetes for over 10 years, this nursing home had not checked her blood sugar since July (4 months ago). Unacceptable and a tragic loss.
I visited my mothers friend, staff was not very accessible and not very helpful. Makes you wonder what it's like when you are not there watching.
Such a generous community. Always supportive of the school and local events.
I wouldn’t put my dog in Friendship Manor. It was dirty, and the staff seemed ignorant. They didn’t know much about the place, so we couldn't even ask questions because they don’t know the answers. It was dark, dirty, and miserable. They had asbestos floors that weren’t polished, and the building was probably 50 years old.
My sister has been a resident for 3-4 years. Management has changed hands and there has been some turnover with the staff. The place has been renovated. It has lovely well maintained grounds. The staff always seems friendly and attentive. Everytime I go to visit. . . my sister is always clean . . .gets two showers a week. Her bed always looks freshly made. I have never walked into the facility and smelled any bad odors. She gets three meals a day (although she says she doesn't like the food). Her meds are given as scheduled and she is taken out of the facility and transported for scans, tests and visits with specialists. The facility is always decorated for the season and grounds well kept. I've been invited and attended two Christmas Events that included dinner, etc. Nice to visit in that atmosphere. Although last year was cancelled due to sickness with the flu. Compare to other nursing homes I have visited when my mother and another sister were ill . . .Friendship Manor is first rate!
The state of affairs at Friendship Manor has gone from satisfactory to frightening. Many long-term staff who provided good care to the residents have been let go new hired in at less cost. A vast majority of CNA's who are hands on with the residents are indifferent - especially the newer hires and are not held accountable for negligence or uncareful care. CNA's are working double shifts; it's common to "we're short staffed". Residents who ask to be toileted are ignored. Cell phones take priority in the dining rooms over ensuring residents eat. It is not uncommon for a resident to be soppng wet from inattention. Meals are late - especially evening meals causing elderly residents to eat their evening meal as late as 7:00 p.m.
My Mother was in this home. The worst.Items stolen from her room.Staff would open her mail.Candace is horrible.Bad food.Staff would move her cell phone off her bed so she couldn't reach it.Staff overcharged her power wheelchair so it wouldn't work.Stay away!!!!!!!!!!!
Friendship Manor in PeWee Valley, Kentucky has its flaws just like any other nursing home. Overall, I have been impressed with the staff and all coordinating staff. The do a good job of taking care of the elderly and actually take the time to get to know the residents. My grandmother is known by name and so I am. They laugh and joke with her and know her personal likes and dislikes. In addition, they have a salon in house that can be used for additional fees, but my grandmother loves to have her hair and nails done every Friday. It makes her feel less like she is in a nursing home. They also have activities through out the week and a Sunday church service. Bingo and concerts always seem to be a big hit with the residents. I will even go visit during these times to enjoy them myself.
One month ago we had to admit my father who has dementia into this facility. The employees there are some of the most wonderful people I have ever met, They treat my father and our family with the utmost respect and tolerate his behaviors. I would recommend this facility to anyone who asks.
I have been thoroughly impressed with Friendship Manor. I intially was not fond of the process but the staff there made the transition much easier. They were not only doing thier jobs but went out of thier way to make our whole family feel welcome. Over time they have become a second family to my mother and us. Food was another worry of mine. As small as it seems I hated the thought of my mother not getting good meals, but Friendship Manor actually serves pretty good food. During the holidays they host dinners, decorate the dining rooms and you can eat a delicious meal with your loved one. Over all I could not be happier with our choice and neither could my mother.
