Friendship House has been home for me a little over 3 years now. Everyone here on staff and residents have been great. I am a quiet person who enjoys reading, writing, watching sports on TV and internet. It is a very clean environment and grateful for the entire staff. I would recommend Friendship House to other seniors.
I love the community experience and feel of Friendship House and Chapel House. Sabrina the Transitional Manager was great to work with from the first phone call to the signing of my lease. I am looking forward to this being my long term home.
Acquaintance · April 2022 I have met one of the housing managers and I liked what I saw in her. I think she is quality for this type of community and her standards are good. She really cares about the elderly and that really stands out. My loves ones apartment is wonderful and it is very nice, they have recently renovated them and they are super clean. I do know that they offer activities for the residents but I am not sure what they are. It is really cost effective and we would definitely recommend this apartment community to others.
Acquaintance · March 2022 It was a great place for my Mom.
Wonderful place to live. Very friendly neighbors and staff. Very quiet and safe.
I moved into this community about 1 year ago and I am happy to be here. Fine people live here. The employees that work here are friendly people. Very caring people.
Unspecified · October 2021 We needed help finding a place for my mother in law. Sabrina who is head of housing was such a big help thru the whole process. I would recommend friendship house to anyone looking for senior low income housing.
Unspecified · September 2021 I’m a dedicated volunteer for Friendship House & Chapel House. Each day I visit is joy-filled! The residents are all happy to call Christian Care Communities HOME. They have frequent bus trips out into the surrounding community, shopping trips, a large boutique store located on the property, and a lots of activities for residents to take part in. The Activities Director, Peggy, is always thinking outside of the box to bring exciting and meaningful activities to the residents!
It's truly independent living, so a person needs to be able to take care of themselves. I would say be mindful of parking if you drive, because parking is kind of tight downtown. My loved one tells me the wi-fi could be faster. She likes the size of her apartment. It has two nice big closets, big enough to use one as a pantry. The closet doors don't really stay on the tracks though. They could also put knobs on the cabinets. For people who can't grab easily, that could be a problem. But when I've come to visit, everyone is very friendly, both the residents and the front desk staff. I'm not sure about the specifics of the activities they offer, but I always see a list posted in elevators, and I know they send out a mailer to the residents as well.
As my mom says, "the people here are just wonderful!" When my mom needed to move the process was daunting. The staff at friendship house have helped with every step along the way and still happy to help with little things now that she is settled in. It's nice to know my mom is safe and is developing a network of friends there. Plus, her grandkids love visiting her garden and playground....and grandma too!
The Friendship House it’s a great place to live, every since my mom moved in I’ve noticed how caring the staff really is, starting with the front desk associates, they’re friendly and cordial, they always welcome you with a smile, in addition the social workers and the administration are very communicative and always ready to help. The Friendship House offers great amenities and it’s a safe place to live in. I’m grateful and so happy to know my mom it’s in great hands. I truly recommend it.
So proud of the Friendship House team and their tireless efforts to assure the safety and well-being of those we serve. Thank you for all you do every day!
Unspecified · January 2021 Friendship House is a wonderful place to live. My grandmother lived there and now my mom. The staff is always friendly and eager to help. Excellent Christian Fellowship.
Unspecified · January 2021 Clean. Mae at the front desk is very nice and very professional. The screen in the front lobby is helpful in sharing birthdays and relevant information.
Unspecified · November 2020 I moved into Friendship House in September. The initial interview was very pleasant. The staff members are very cordial, they have an Open Door policy, ready to assist and answer any questions. The residents are very friendly and helpful. It great when you move into a place and your neighbors become Family. I would highly recommend Friendship House for yourself or for your family members.
Unspecified · November 2020 This place is wonderful. I have been here since March and I am so glad I moved here. The people who work here are all wonderful and carrying. I love it here.
Unspecified · January 2020 Sorry I even put my family member here. Staff is not compassionate for these residents at all. When I visit there is no one coming in to turn the resident in the room who can't do for themself. Very sad place to be.
Unspecified · December 2019 My cousin is currently a resident at the rehab residence. I must say this is the absolute worst place in terms of care I've experienced. She has missed appointments and been late to appointments. Although the staff "appear" friendly, they don't seem to be very knowledgeable about information or the status of her conditions. I'm currently working to have her moved to a more efficient facility capable of managing the needs of caring for the elderly.
I do not recommend this facility to anyone, not even for pet care.
Unspecified · December 2018 I was here for my clinicals prior to getting my state CNA Lisence! The staff was nice but the place was unsanitary! And when being trained by a veteran CNA the experience wasn't a good one! She was ghetto and rushing with her cares when I was partnered up with her during my clinicals! She took out a weave pony tail out of its box and put it in her hair while residents was eating lunch right there at the table....who does that? She left a resident on the stand up lift on the toilet when it malfunctioned to get another CNA! They have young black girls who work there constantly have bad attitudes all day long! They are so unorganized as a Long Term care facility! They didn't have the care plan sheets ready for us and was running around the whole floor looking for them when they should've been ready for us to view! I'm so glad I never applied to work here after getting my CNA License! This place is a joke!
Unspecified · November 2017 Christian care communities is a bad place to work and a horrible place to take your loved ones. Under staffed, never have what you need to do your job, the roof fell in and three floors were flooded with water, it's a very old facility and run down with rats, roaches, bugs on food trays and spiders. Has Bed bugs, and scabies. If you care for your loved ones Please don't go to this facility
Unspecified · August 2017 Corporate so out of touch
My grandmother has been placed in the rehab to home facility here. She lives at the apartment facility as an individual which is why we placed her here. It's been a terrible experience for her and me as I have rude run in's and pretty rough arguments with staff often when asking questions in reference to my grandmother. I've been told that it's not a good time to take care of what she needs at the time being and also had to show the nurse how to operate one of THEIR breathing instruments. Thank goodness I work at a hospital as well. My grandmother has had me and other fellow friends/family take care of her treatment when they did not get to her on time. I cannot wait until her rehab (that is actually not rehabbing her) lets her leave so we can send her to a more appropriate place.
