Great staff and residents a lot great changes since new ownership.
Employees are wonderful to patients !
Outstanding group of people that genuinely care about those entrusted to their care. Perfect, no. But they are committed to doing the right thing. Quick to resolve and concerns from the residents or family members.
The staff goes above and beyond for their residents. With the new ownership improvements are happening everyday.
I’m so happy to have found this place. The new administration and staff are a breath of fresh air. The residents and patients seem happy every day and are a joy to be around
Everyone was very helpful and knowledgeable of any and all questions that was asked, all the staff are great and friendly, big thanks to Erin and Amanda for all the help.
Unspecified · February 2026 Staff is excellent. Since coming under new ownership the building has made significant improvements on both maintenance and care.
Unspecified · October 2025 Oct 03 2025. A filthy and unsanitary place. The patient bathroom of the resident was vile on level with a filthy public toilet. Build up of improperly and incomplete floor cleaning of dirt and debris lines the baseboards and corners of the rooms. Trash and filth covered the office carpet. Daily meds in open cups sitting out on the counter at the nurses station within arms reach of any resident's and passers-by. It was during the noon meal so it's expected the noise level to be up but employees yelling the length of the hall is unacceptable. When did the name change? Was notice of name change sent out or announced? The signage at the road shows Grand Haven yet google shows it's "permanently closed". By searching address only it appears to be now called named Harrison Nursing & Rehabilitation. Last but not least there appeared to be a viral infection with many residents yet no notice of any kind in entry doors to the building.
My sister is happy here. Admin is friendly not like the other place where the administrator was mean as a bullfrog. Nurses are good. Building needs remodeled but people
are good.
Just moved my mom here from the nicer facility nearby. I was worried at first but after being here for a few weeks I am so glad we made this decision. The building is old but the care is great. These people from the Administrator all the way to the janitor love the residents. My mom is much happier here.
I’m extremely disappointed to learn that the Social Services Director at Harrison Nursing and Rehabilitation is in a relationship with Adam Wellman, who has publicly made racist and dismissive remarks — including a comment mocking Juneteenth by saying, “I thought that was in Texas?” These kinds of statements are not only offensive, but they show a lack of basic understanding and respect for Black history and the meaning of freedom in America.
When someone in a leadership position at a healthcare facility is closely connected to this kind of rhetoric, it raises serious concerns about the values being upheld within the organization. Families expect compassion, inclusion, and cultural sensitivity—especially from those entrusted with care and advocacy for vulnerable patients.
I sincerely hope Harrison Nursing and Rehabilitation addresses this issue and reconsiders the standards it holds for those in positions of leadership.
Unspecified · August 2024 My brother stayed there just 1 day and it was sad room was hot. That didn't give him anything to drink that didn't even care if he was. So he signed his own self out
Unspecified · November 2023 It’s older but man do these people love their people! We had a couple minor issues but the administrator and social worker took care of them immediately.
Sign me up.
I may not mind getting old and living in a facility that has as much fun as they do at Grand Haven.
I love seeing all their activities!!
Ignore positive reviews. This place, like others, hide behind policy and laws and treat old people like animals. No humanity at all. A bunch of cowards earning paychecks.
My mom is a patient here, she is pleased and I am. I absolutely love the staff they are helpful and nice to Mom . Shelia Jacobs is great she has been very helpful. My Mom is happy so I am happy.
Unspecified · January 2023 My mother received excellent care while she was there. Kind and compassionate. Thank you so much.
Unspecified · December 2022 Everyone is friendly and treats everyone like family. Building is out dated but the care is great.
Unspecified · October 2021 Absolutely disgraceful - you treat patients as if they were animals.
No empathy at all, you should be ashamed of yourselves.
Unspecified · January 2021 My friend’s mom was recently there for just under 1 month. We brought her home on 1/15/21. Her last wish. She was sicker on discharge than when she was admitted. She died on 1/22/21 of double pneumonia and influenza A.
Unspecified · November 2019 My father has been at GH for over two years. They are very good to him. You need to visit your love ones often no matter where they are then you can correct any problems that arise.
The entire place smells like urine. Only three or four of the aids in the place are qualified to be there. The actual nurses aren’t much better. Thedo have excellent therapists, but the size of the therapy area is pathetic.
They darn near have killed my family member there !! Sueing the pants off them!!! I will own them when I'm done .... 128 pounds when she went there 89 pounds now !!!! Bed sores all over her dirt caked on her !!!! You people are being shut down ... ! And poor old lady Mary laying in the floor naked with poop all over her !!!!! And she aspirated and you all done nothing !!!!
Just wait til your old and in a home everything you have done will be put back on you 10 folds !!!!
God help the resident's of Grand Haven... I have seen so much abuse there ... Makes me sick ...
Unspecified · September 2017 Very friendly staff
