I can’t say enough good things about this facility. Every staff member went over and above for Pammy while she was there. They met her needs and helped her make progress not only physically, but also socially and emotionally. They have an amazing administrative team, incredible activities for residents and their families, nursing care is off the charts, physical/occupational therapy is incredible, housekeeping and laundry staff are wonderful. Dietary makes every effort to meet the needs of the residents. Pammy is a challenge when it comes to nutrition, and they rose to the challenge! We love this place! ❤️
This place has been a huge blessing to so many. A home near home is how I view HH&RC! I have had several relatives stay here for short or long-term care and were treated as family. 💓
They have always went out of their way for m mother and been good to her and seen to her needs daily
Unspecified · January 2025 My mother Margret Shepherd as a resident of the facility. She recently became very ill and was put on hospice. The staff of all shifts was awesome. They took care of my mom tenderly and sweetly as if it was their own family.member. Jessie, Andrea, James and all the others were just as sweet as can be. Facility was clean and smelled good. One of the best nursing homes I been to. As a former EMT I have been to several that smelled like urine and feces, not Harlan Health and Rehab.
Highly recommend this facility.
Unspecified · February 2022 The staff there are wonderful. They go above & beyond their duties. I would truly like to thank each of them for what they do for me and my family.
I've had relatives in here as residents in the past, and they did an outstanding job with them! My great grandmother, and my great aunt.
Unspecified · August 2012 The minute I walked in the door the odor about knocked me over. There was a strong smell of urine everywhere. There was urine and feces all over the commode seats. There were residents walking around un attended. There were many of the residents that were in bad need of a bath. There were many call bells going off while most of the staff were setting around talking.
I found this facility to be very unclean. It was very dirty and had a awful odor.I saw urine on the floor in several places.I also saw human feces on the walls, the floor and smeared on the rails on the bed.The toilets were very nasty as well. The had not appeared not to have been cleaned in a very long time.I observed dirty plates, cups and bowls setting around in random places. These dishes were dirty and had rotted and molded food and/or drinks in them.I also observed dirty tissue paper thrown down in the floors.I observed many of the resident had rang there bells for a long length of time with no response from the staff.I observed sever patients had been very neglected. Many had climb over their bed rails and had a bad fall onto the concrete and tile floor.I also found that patients were allowed to lay for hours and hours in a soiled diaper
The staff was sometimes friendly. It deepened upon who was working at the time. Some were really nice, others seemed bored to be there. Sometimes the staff was rude in regards to other patients at the facility. I over heard many of them make jokes about their conditions. The food was awful and sometimes old. Sometimes it was serve late as well. The facility itself always smelled really bad. I often wondered how many times a week it was actually cleaned. However I must say that my relative's room was always clean itself. The staff members that assisted us was always very prompt when it came to care of my loved one. Overall I though the facility could have been ran a lot better but I did appreciate those that were friendly to my loved one and I was for the most part pleased with the care that she received.
Unspecified · February 2012 I have dealt with Harlan Health & Rehabilitation Center for years when visiting my grandmother there. The care that they provide for patients is top notch, and my grandmother loves it.Initially she was scared because of all the rumors regarding nursing homes being something like gulags from the soviet era. But after being there for a while she has come to love it.The staff there is generally really nice. Every time I visit my grandmother I am greeted warmly by Charleen or Helen (Her two usual nurses). The only complaints I've ever heard from her regarding HHRC was that the food was sometimes bland. But she was on a no salt low-fat diet there, so maybe it's not really their chefs fault.Overall, great care, great nurses, great nursing home. I would recommend HHRC to anyone that is considering a nursing home for themselves or one of their loved ones.
I toured this assisted living facility about a month ago. The staff there were all very kind, both when dealing with me and with the residents. Any questions I had, they took the time to answer. Anything that the residents needed, they did their best to help with. The nurse assistants were all patient and caring, always seeming to have a smile on their face, and ready to help with whatever was needed.
The care that these people had for the residents was obvious. It was a pleasure to see that the human resources didn't hire in people unless it was clear that this wasn't just a job to them, that these people really want to help and care for others.
