Reviews
for Ivy Knoll Senior Living Community
There is a certain folksy atmosphere there and the residents appear to genuinely like the facility and each other. The staff has always been very nice to deal with even when you factor in the high turnover rates we so often see. Ivy Knoll is not a nursing home but they took very good care of my mother as long as they could before we had to move her to a nursing home. The administration is very flexible in working with your needs. The food is always cooked fresh on site (many facilities no longer do this, I'm told) and is very good. For the money and value, you can't beat Ivy Knoll.
Both my mom and dad were residents at Ivy Knoll. I can personally say that the staff at Ivy Knoll treated both my parents like family. They went over and beyond to help accommodate them. They truly care about the individual and want to provide the best care possible.
Cost is the best .. improvement would be outside activities for residents. Yes, we would recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far.
My mom lives there and everyone seems very friendly and helpful
Great facility. Anyways friendly and treat all the residents very well!
My name is Michael Meeks my cousin Frank Albert Harvey he lives in APT 614. I recently visited him this past week for a couple of days. The staff let me have enjoy wonderful meals in there cafeteria, during my stay , I enjoyed the wonderful staff, and there kind hearts who take care of my cousin Frank Harvey. I recommend Ivy knoll for your loved ones in the future. Thanks for everything. Thanks so much
Ivy Knoll is a truly caring Senior Community. I am a dietary aide, I love my job and love interacting with all of the residents.
First if all, Ivy Knoll is the best place in the world! The activities are fantastic and the staff is magnificent! I met the love of my life here and I couldn't be happier!
I would love to tell you about Ivy Knoll Senior Living Community! It was my mom’s choice to sell her house and join a senior living place. She visited several places in the Northern Kentucky area. She chose Ivy Knoll over all of the places she visited. She saw something special. I have learned that she made the best choice. The main reason I highly recommend Ivy Knoll is because of the staff. They all know and sincerely care about every resident. They have meetings to listen to the residents to improve services. They treat every resident with respect. They take care of situations that arise right away. When my mom was experiencing a stroke, they jumped right into action and got emergency services for her. She got to the hospital quickly enough that she was able to get the shot that dissolves the clot. They followed her recovery during her stay in rehab. Then she was able to return to Ivy Knoll on the Personal Care floor where she received services like bathing, dressing and help with her medications. That is another great reason she chose to live at Ivy Knoll. My mom was able to return to Independent Living. It really is a terrific place! Go visit and see for yourself.
Pay is very, very, low for CNAs, know your worth ladies and gents, ask for what you want and need, they can afford it… trust. Everyone has bills to pay, and things are so expensive these days, you deserve to thrive not just survive. CNAs are the heart of the facility always remember that. It is more than enough reviews that will back my statement, it’s profit over people, I get it. You guys please don’t overlook the one stars they definitely have truth to them. Nobody likes to hear the ugly truth, but take heed.
Was told physical therapy was available and it wasn’t . Physical therapist who Interviewed my brother was rude - strode into the room- failed to offer a contact - and for my brother therapy wasn’t available for at least nine days and then walked out of the room. Staff were generally pleasant but disrespectful of privacy. Knocked on the door and entered the room without waiting for a response on a consistent basis. The food was just terrible. I hate to say that because I know when you’re cooking for a large number of people with different dietary restrictions that it must be very difficult, but the meals were appetizing, lacked flavor and delivered in a Styrofoam container Without even the frills of a fast food drive-through. Its a nosmoking facility with signs erected in the driveway, directing smokers where to sit did not enforce their own rules. You could not walk out the front door without being confronted by a crowd of smokers sitting together in front of the no smoking sign.
We toured Ivy Knoll Senior Living. I like the fact that everybody seemed to be out of their rooms. They just seem to be with other people. They were socializing. Everybody seemed to be pretty content, pretty happy. We went to different places and saw different activities. I was just impressed that it seemed to be lively and social. I thought it was a nice facility. It's convenient. We went with the marketing director and she was very upbeat. I was impressed. It was a nice place. It seemed well taken care of. The rooms were standard sizes. They weren't enormous but they were certainly big enough for a bedroom.
Staff was super helpful and approachable . Residents seemed very happy. Loved 2nd floor for activities. Maintenance team very helpful as well. Also beautiful decoration. Very Lively.
My mom has lived here many years and we have been very happy with the care as staff there. The facility is very clean and very accommodating.
I have now lived at Ivy Knoll for 6 years now. My experience has been nothing short of amazing. It is so nice knowing. I have such caring staff found 24/7. The food is decent and the building is always clean and smells good. I love where I live and all of my Ivy Knoll family.
A loving and caring place. Any time there is an issue they're maintenance team and caregivers are on top of resolving it.
While my mother has not been here since [date removed], she enjoyed the time she was there. The staff was attentive and communicated well with my family. The quality of care to the value (cost) was excellent.
This is my home and I like the people here. I would recommend Ivy Knoll community to other families based on the experience I have had so far.
Everyone I have come in contact with at Ivy Knoll welcomes you with such a friendly Demeanor. They are all willing to help out where ever is needed and treat the residents as family. The building is always clean and smells great. And the decor is so inviting! They makes you comfortable knowing your mom or dad has a second family to look after them. I love all of the extra activities they have for holidays that includes not only our family to attend but staff as well. Halloween & Christmas are such fun events for everyone the kids & residents of Ivy Knoll light up over the events and I love seeing the sparkle in mom's eyes again ! Thank you Ivy Knoll for loving my sweet mom and helping her enjoy her senior years with you as her second family !
My mother has lived at Ivy Knoll for a few years now and it is a great facility. The building is very clean and updated. The staff are all friendly, and they go above and beyond to make sure each resident is well taken care of. I love that they do many activities and go many places!!
Ivy Knoll is a great place filled with even better people. The staff is always smiling and very attentive. The residents are kind and say hello to strangers. My family made the best decision when we decided to place my great aunt here. Highly recommend!
They are so friendly here. They even remember your name. Help is always available. The food is very good. The cleaning of my apt is very good. The whole complex is always clean and is pretty. I would rate it A+!!!!!!!
We toured Ivy Knoll Senior Living. It seemed like it was a little less inviting, but once you walked in the door, then it was a five. It didn't have a real joyful entrance like all the flowers and stuff like that, but we might have been there when they weren't doing that just yet. The director was great, but I didn't meet any of the regular staff while we were there. They were just so friendly. They were very caring. The upkeep was fantastic, just as clean as it could be. We saw a one-bedroom or studio. They were freshly painted and the one-bedroom had new carpeting. They were perfect.
Clean, inviting and like home. The staff is wonderful and ALWAYS willing to help or answer questions concerning your loved one. Many different activities and events are offered for the residents. We are very satisfied and happy that our loved one is a resident at Ivy Knoll.
The friendliness of the staff was more than I would have ever expected. The level of care of concern shows they genuinely care about the residents. I like everything about the place. My father has been there since January, has no complaints at all.
My loved one was previously a resident at Ivy Knoll and the experience was good. I would recommend this facility to others.
Staff is always willing to speak with you and answer questions. Very visible and approachable. They are great when interacting with the Ivy Knoll community members; very caring. They inform me of things when appropriate. The physical move in process was good. The only issue was getting the insurance arranged. Overall, I would recommend the facility due to the staff and the care.
1 on everything ~ only stayed 1 night, ate 3 meals, and left the facility. I never moved in ~ but they kept my first months rent, and were EXTREMELY rude to me I feel betrayed, and angry. I will Never go into another facility like that!
We moved my husbands grandma into this facility 3 months ago. I can not say enough great things about this facility. The employees are great and so helpful and caring. My husband and I have had several dinners there with her, the food has always been a really good variety of home cooked meals. Grandma also enjoys all the food and activities! She is doing things she has not done in years! She is always telling us how nice the staff is. It is such a good feeling when she keeps telling us " I never thought living in a nursing home would be like this!". She is really enjoying living there. Knowing she is being well taken care of and enjoying herself takes a lot of stress and worry off of us. Thank you Ivy Knoll and staff!!
Our experience with Ivy Knoll Senior Living has been OK. We chose to move here because of their price range and they have a lot of activities and stuff. They take you to the store, they have different kinds of games that you can play, and then they take you out on outings, like picnics or to the movies and stuff like that. The staff is pretty helpful and nice. The condition of the place is good. The food is pretty good. Sometimes you don't get enough, but it's pretty good.
I cannot say enough good things about this facility. I looked a long time to find something that provided all the everyday needs for my mother. This place has been TRANFORMATIONAL for both her physical and mental health. They have great food, exceptional staff, and excellent enrichment activities. I held off on my review for several months because I wanted to know this would be a good, long-term fit for my mom. I've stopped by all hours of the day and night and the care is consistent. This facility is managed SO WELL and you can tell the staff takes pride in what they do. Items don't sit around broken/damaged for weeks at a time. Instead, as soon as the problem is known, it is addressed immediately. I'd give this place 10 starts if I could! TOP NOTCH LEADERSHIP AND COMPASSION!
I moved my grandmother in to Ivy Knoll a few months ago. She absolutely loves her new place to call home. The staff are amazing and the place is so clean! Highly recommend!
Ivy Knoll is a top notch senior community. The building is clean and well decorated. Staff goes above and beyond and treats us like family. Move here - you will not regret it!
Best Place I have ever worked, having 18 years experience in health care.
I went to Ivy Knoll Senior Living and had a tour of the place. It was great. Lindsey gave me the tour and she was also great. I was impressed with the layout, the cleanliness of the apartment that I'm moving into, and everything about it. The price is right, too. So, it all worked out. It's an old building, but they keep fixing it up all the time. It has character.
I work in a lot of senior facilities as a private duty nurse, I always enjoy coming to IK because the staff and residents are always so welcoming. They are always busy and going on fieldtrips. The staff goes above and beyond for their residents and employees. I love seeing the residents sitting out front having treats on a nice warm day. Holidays are so fun at IK & they really get the residents involved in activities.
As with anyone our family was very nervous about placing our grandma into a community. The tour with [name removed] was amazing ! She was so upbeat and friendly and very knowledgeable. We had a Lunch tour with her and [name removed] the Executive Director of the building they are so nice & the food was delish! I must say since my Grams has been living at Ivy Knoll she is living her best life! going on outings and doing fun activities that our family never thought she would be interested in. I love checking out their facebook for new pictures everyday. So Thank you A place for mom & Ivy Knoll for helping my Grandma enjoy her golden years, I haven't seen her this happy in years <3
Sometimes the staff is a bit disorganized, but everyone is very nice. The residents are really friendly, and that's probably the best part of Ivy. One thing I would be wary of is the owner's [name removed] current financial woes, which have attracted media attention. He just filed for bankruptcy and has $[removed]million in liability. The banks are claiming fraud, but he is pleading his innocence. I'm watching this very closely as it obviously could impact his ability to maintain the property and keep competent staff.
I can't say enough nice things about Ivy Knoll. My brother was hesitant to move into a senior community thinking he was losing his independence. Boy, this couldn't be further from the truth! This place is amazing! There are so many activities to keep my bother active and independent. I can't thank them all enough!
My grandma loves it here because everyone is so caring and loves all the activities selections everyday. She loves the outings and all the things planned for the residents daily! I highly recommend!!!
They do not take care of their elderly employees at all, when it comes to people working at this facility for more than a decade and don't receive the support from a company they've devoted that much time and love too is disgusting. It's setting our elderly up for financial ruin. And this company claims to want to better the elderly and take care of them, they should start with the elderly they've employed for years. It's sad and disappointing I hope other employees have a better experience.
Spacious rooms are great. They could work on inviting newcomers to be a part of the community.
I have found that Ivy Knoll has a very accommodating staff. Everyone is very nice and responsive. The residents there seem very happy with the facility and each other. Best of all, the cost is a great value compared to other facilities that I've checked out. This is not a place for haughty people that expect ornamental beauty and contrasts and it is not impeccably clean, but it is nice for the price.
I had a very pleasant tour this afternoon with the sales lady. I liked the appearance of the place, everything looked very homey, and everybody that we dealt with was super friendly and very helpful. I like that I can bring my dog with me when I move in.
There is no place like Ivy Knoll. The staff makes everyone feel like family. We moved my grandpa here from another facility after several bad experiences. My grandpa is very loved and well taken care of at Ivy Knoll. The building is very nice and clean and always decorated for the holidays. It's nice that every time I visit the staff always greets me and says hello. Happy hour every Friday and the even have a margarita machine. My grandpa has made several buddies here, many of them being veterans which he loves. I'm happy my family decided to move him here. Highly recommend!
I currently live here and I would recommend this place to anyone. It's a great value for all you receive. I get my laundry washed and my apartment cleaned every week. We have a dining room and they serve three hot meals a day. Catholic mass every Wednesday and Sunday. Plus I was able to bring my cat. The only thing I wish I had was a balcony. I love it here.
Staff and residents all seemed very happy. The building was clean and the fall decorations out front were nice.
We are in the beginning stages of searching for a place for my father and when the time comes Ivy Knoll is at the top of our list. We were taken to lunch on our tour by the admissions director and it was a very pleasant experience. The food was great and the staff/residents were very welcoming. The building is clean and everyone seems happy.
I absolutely adore Ivy knoll! It is my home away from home. I adore staff and residents both! I have never walked into a facility that is both professionally and emotionally driven. From the director all the way down to maintenance, you will see care and compassion for the loved ones housed in this facility.
On the outside it's beautiful but on the inside its a hot Mess U have supervisor that supervise every department but the one she gotten hire to Supervise this the only place I know when u are short staff the supervisor go swimming instead of jumping in to help.clean she goes swinging not once but twice she has gone swimming when.staff was short The head lady and the lady at the front desk.and they so called housekeeper or family She not even suppose to be on 3 but instead of cleaning rooms she sitting on 3 at the desk The kitcken floor was never been mopped the whole time i.was I The carpet needs cleaning I JUSt FEEL.THE BUILD NEEDS A WHOLE new MANAGEMENT TEAM CAUSE THEONES THEY HAVE COULDN'T DIirect they self out a paper bag if it had the instructions wrote in neonlights with a Flashlight stuck to.its side
