Acquaintance · April 2023 Overall value is low. We were able to find another place that was nicer, bigger and [removed]k cheaper per month! Also, Oak Ridge is very poorly managed. The rooms are small, really better suited for one person. Outdoor space is limited. Nice rockers in front, but residents can't use the courtyard in the center because the management allows staff to use it as a smoking area. Covid protocols were a joke. They said they took it seriously, but in reality, they didn't.
Unspecified · November 2022 My mom was at Oak Ridge Senior Living Community for a while. It was excellent. My mom got so bad, she couldn't stay there. They have great service. Their director is extremely friendly and helpful. Their staff is good. The food and the activities were good. Everything was top-notch there. They had activities like singing. They got them together and did all kinds of things for different holidays. They had music and special food treats. It was a nice place. The facility is very clean.
Unspecified · January 2020 Oak Ridge Senior Living Community is great. They've got crafts, music, and Bridge. My mother's apartment is less expensive than the other ones we looked at, but it's standoffish. She's been there for three weeks, and we know just about every employee. We love it. The food is fabulous. Mom is the pickiest person I've been around, but she has loved every meal but one. They have a game room and a craft room. The TV living room area is big enough to take at least 50% of their residents. We're allowed to do our own laundry and use their facilities if we want to. They dispense her medicines to her. If we leave the door open, the nurses and the staff come and check on her constantly. They come to her room and remind her of every meal or they'll bring it to her. They allow us to put birdfeeders outside her window. We're allowed to come in and take her anytime we want and keep her as long as we want. They decorate for the holidays, and they celebrate birthdays and retirements. Their price was a little high, but we still chose them because of the staff.
As a brand new member of Pennyrile Dulcimer Players, I sat with residents as our members played for seniors and staff on July 16. Singing along and smiling it was apparent folks were having a good time.
Following the performance several residents moved to the front porch rocking chairs where I joined two ladies a little while. Both were quick to tell me things they love about their life at Oak Ridge.
Oak ridge is a wonderful place for residents to live, and for me to work. There is such a loving, and god centered community.
When you walk through the doors of Oak Ridge you don't just walk into a building. You become a part of a warm, extended, loving, caring, faith-based family. It is an outstanding privilege to be able to be a part of the Oak Ridge Family.
The director is awesome. Residents are treated like family.
Oak Ridge is a wonderful place to live and work!
Oakridge is an absolutely amazing place to be. A great Christian and Family community!!
Acquaintance · March 2017 I can not say enough about how great the entire staff is. They have gone out of their way to make you comfortable . We have good communication with the staff. They keep the community very clean. The door to the kitchen is left open and you are able to see how clean they keep it. The food is good, healthy and they have good portions. My friend's apartment has a small patio and she is able to have her cat with her. This community is like a four star hotel and I would highly recommend it.
Unspecified · November 2016 Denise has an incredible facility in a beautiful location! Everyone treats each resident like family.
Oak Ridge Senior Living has been a strong supporter of the Madisonville/Hopkins County community for several years. Denise Casares, Executive Director, is involved in the Madisonville Rotary Club, the Hopkins County Regional Chamber of Commerce, and Hopkins County Business & Professional Women organization. As a member of BPW, I value the service and commitment that Oak Ridge and Denise provides to our community and the BPW members. On a personal level, my mother-in-law lived at Oak Ridge for about a year and she loved it. The facility, the staff, everything - she was happy and comfortable. My husband and I knew she was safe, secure, and content in her surroundings. We are fortunate to have this caring, Christian-based business available to our residents of Hopkins County. Thank you Denise and staff!
We couldn't ask for a better place for our parents to be now that they are no longer able to live independently! Everyone is so kind and helpful; it is obvious in the many ways they meet the needs (and many of the wants) of the residents that everyone on staff is very caring. Denise has worked very hard to make this a safe and happy place for all residents.
We highly recommend Oak Ridge Senior Living Community!
Unspecified · October 2012 This assisted living center was nice. It was clean and the residents were friendly. The staff also appeared friendly and was helpful to the residents. Esch resident has their own apartment to live in with staff ready to assist with anything that they are asked to do.Each apartment has ample room and has a kitchen, bathroom, living room, and bedroom. There is also a common dining area in case resident want to dine at the facility and/or visit with the other residents. The food smelled and looked good that the facality had. There was also several recreational activities that the residents could partake in.
Unspecified · October 2012 My grandmother stayed here while recovering from Bells Palsy. The staff was phenomenal and took very good care of her during this time. The facilities were very nice and her room was very homey and cozy. My grandmother seemed to enjoy her time here. The meals were always good and filling. Every time we visited we always felt welcome and the staff was very inviting. The grounds were very well kept and the entire facility was well maintained and clean all of the time. My grandmother enjoyed the activities that were planned for the residents. She enjoyed spending time with the other residents during the various social events that were planned on a regular schedule. Even though this was a very difficult time in my grandmothers life, the staff at Oak Ridge retirement center made it as easy as they possibly could. This helped to speed up her recovery and ensured that when the time was right she would be ready to go home and be able to take care of herself again.
Oak Ridge is really nice! It's very very clean and I remember being impressed when I first went to visit my Grandpa. It is very homey! Big rooms, lovely color schemes, really nice landscaping, friendly staff, etc! It's everything a retirement center should be. Also, the owner is one of the nicest ladies I have ever met!
