The care and attention given by the staff at Richwood is everything you would hope for if you had to be at a rehab facility

Unspecified · June 2025

The team has made many changes to make our facility feel like it is your home away from home. I enjoy that everyone who works is passionate about what they do. It truly is a great place to work.

I was a CNA for this place for a year and the miss treat there residents do not do treatments right or not at all the facilities also has bugs everywhere they make u work for literally 16.50 a hour for taking care of someone life this is why no one has CNA because these place treat us horrible and do NOT PAY I work 7 days a week loving every single one of my residents on good days and bad and still have the nerve to fire u once I have drive a hour to come out there and wait for me to clock in very unprofessional and I do not recommend sending your family member here they will end up in worse shape then when u brought them there they don’t not supply very that is need either

My father was there for almost a year after a stroke. He wanted to go to a facility in the area where his friends are. His nurse was good. There are no other good things to say about Richwood. I got him out as soon as I saw how residents were treated. They are about taking your very hard earned money and giving back very little. It is a shame. They should not be in business for the purpose of making money by taking advantage of those who don’t know there are other options. Do NOT put a loved one in this facility.

It's a nursing home. Is there such a thing as 5 stars for a place like this? Fully staffed. Everybody is nice. Clean.

Brad,Violet, Ilivea, and Amber are an asset to the facilty. If I had a healthcare business i would be after them. I am glad I chose Richwood for my rehab stay. One thing they need to work on is the food. The staff and everyone here made my visit very pleasant.

I want to compliment Annabell Chaffin in the business office. In the past I had problems getting statements submitted to my insurance company which created a real problem for me. When she took over I never had another problem. I certainly appreciate her timely efficiency.

Unspecified · August 2024

I want to thank Amber for making it painless helping me to get my sister to Kentucky from Florida. The administration bent over backwards to give Karen and my family 11/2 years of spending time as a family instead of alone in Florida. For the nurses and the staff that cared for her were so personable and interested in her well being that I never worried if she was being cared for. Thank you for being the kind of place that treats you with respect to both patients and their families.

Richwood goes beyond expectations on caring for their residents. Staff get to know their residents one on one and treat them like family. Highly recommended for loved ones.

This place deserves 0 stars. My mom was here for only 3 weeks and in that time, lost a lot of weight and her baseline functioning severely declined. She has suffered several strokes and is unable to speak or walk. The staff never called or asked when I was there, how to communicate, what her baseline was, never discussed goals or got to know her. I didn’t even talk to a member of the therapy team until the day of discharge. They never came to the care plan meeting and never called to update me on progress… I guess because she was never progressing. I highly doubt she worked with therapy much at all. Every time I went to go visit, which was any hour of the day, she was just laying in bed. They never got to know her or learned how to communicate. They didn’t even turn on her TV. So she just laid there staring at a wall, listening to her roommate talk loudly. Now we have to start all over again to get her back to how she was. All nursing staff was agency, so it was someone new daily. Never again!!!! Don’t take your loved ones here.

My son went to Richwood under Hospice care. Everyone there was extremly helpful and thoughtful. He had excellent care. They moved him to a private room at the end so the family could stay with him 24, 7. A few of the nurses even followed him to visit after he was moved off thier floor. I would rate them as high as possible.

Please do not sentence any loved one to Richwood. They have many problems, but the corker tonight was that—despite the fact that I am one door down from the nurses station—I waited over an hour for an aide to respond to the light, only to have them bark at me as if I were asking for the sun and the moon when I simply needed a pack of wipes to effectively utilize the commode chair. They said it was impossible for anyone to leave the building and go out to the shed and get a pack of wipes. Well OK. It might’ve been helpful to receive some level of prior notice that such essential things were magically impossible. I asked for toilet paper. They said it was impossible for anyone to leave the building and go get a roll of toilet paper from the shed. I asked how I was supposed to clean myself after using the commode chair. They offered a wet washrag and towel. Sadly no, I am not joking, and I surely could not make this up! Apparently Richwood has reverted to the 17th century. This combined with the daily joy of one patient being allowed to bellow endlessly, taking away from other residents yet another night of sleep, as he has for weeks now since obviously nobody else here has any rights. This is part of the reason I am not improving in my current bout with Covid – which I caught right here. And now they have blessed him with a chair, so he can roll about and run into your door and bellow right outside your door, which is a bit disconcerting to say the very least. Please don’t let anyone you care about end up here, as this is only the tip of the iceberg of evident overall management failures with this corporation.

I took my daughter to see her father there today. He reported that last night he had a bowel movement and it was hours before someone came to help and he is completely bedridden and receiving palliative care. He also reported being fed chicken noodle soup for 3 days. I noticed that the gentleman next to him didn't even have a sheet on his bed. When he was in a private room, his care was better. In the 300 wing care seems to be lacking. Sis I mention he is doing dialysis treatments 3 days a week for end stage kidney disease? He may be at the end of his life, but neglected care is never acceptable.

Management allows for staff to be bullied, and if you are in the “in crowd” your golden. The facility will do whatever it takes to keep its nose clean. Read some of the reviews here and agree, the in crowd staff are unprofessional but due to short staffing they keep the ones they can and have agency fill in holes. They are disorganized and when it comes to nursing and assignments, dangerously low staffing to patient ratios. It doesn’t matter how you treat the residents it’s all about making the facility money. The rooms are small, no privacy.

My dad went here for rehab and I was disgusted as to how they treated him. Staff members with the exception of a few were rude and unprofessional. They did not care about their patients. My dad was treated horrible didn't get bathed for over a week and a half even though we asked multiple times. Barely got any rehab and worse off leaving than when he arrived. Don't send your loved ones here if you don't have too.

My grandfather went here for “rehab.” Though, I was informed by my grandmother that they hardly worked with him. He was in bed most the time. Every time she arrived, his urine bag (urostomy) was full and not being changed. He wasn’t being given water when he requested. He got discharged yesterday, and had more trouble walking now than he did before arriving.

I would like to give them zero stars. I had my mother there for two months during 2020. It was a horrible experience for both of us. No one EVER called me back when I called to check on my mom. They did not care for her very well all. She was wet almost every time I talked with her. They lied to me about the number of people that had died or been sick with COVID-19. They told me they had only one person who had COVID and they recovered and returned to Richwood. Turns out they were a hotspot for COVID in Oldham Co. and 7 people had died. They also lost(I think maybe stole) all of my mother’s dresses when I picked her up to go to a better facility. She had absolutely only the dress on her back to go to the new home. I had to buy all new clothes. They have since gotten a new director so I hope things are better now.

Me and my mother went here to see my grandmother we was able to get in cause some left a umbrella in the door we waited in the front office for 30 mins then the only person who came up was an elderly man with a black eye and a Walker trying to leave saying his ride was here we had to do everything we could to stop him from leaving cause it was cold outside and he had nothing warm on so my mom tried calling the section where my grandmother was in and another elderly person answered the phone ! Finally a nurse showed up and go the elderly man that was trying to leave to head back to his room then see told us she would take us to see my grandma we get half way there then she tells us went can't because she isn't on hospuris but we can talk to her outside through her window we drop off a Facebook portal and some of her favorite candies cause all her stuff had gotten stole they were supposed to hook up the portal for her but didnt she hadn't eaten and was very cold and had nothing on but one little sheet we kept trying to call the office again to tell them to get her some food and a blanket and they didn't answer the phone yet again I felt so helpless not being able to do anything for her my uncle put her in this facility because my me and my mother dont have the money to care for her but this is ridiculous to see that she isn't being cared for properly this place is a joke and the are completely under staff I've tried contacting my uncle but him and my mother aren't on good terms and he wont talk to me either . I would not recommend sending any of your family members there

I Love Richwood Nursing & Rehab for the Residents and the Employees who have the biggest hearts!!

Unspecified · November 2019

Since I have been here it has been a pleasant experience. People are helpful, friendly, and concerned. I have been evaluated by therapy and excited to bring my walker so I can more independent. I know the staff doesn't mind to help me but I want to keep my independence. Meals have been great. I haven't had to turn anything away. I think any one would enjoy it here.

I am truly appreciative of the quality care the facility provided for my grandfather while under Hosparus care. I would recommend this facility.

This is a wonderful place. It's very clean, the environment is super friendly and welcoming. The staff is also very caring and loving.

I have the opportunity to tour Richwood Nursing & Rehab weekly. I find the Administrative staff including nursing leadership very responsive, very friendly, very professional. I love that the main dining room is near the entrance and I see lots of patients out enjoying the group meals and activities. Richwood is very clean and was remodeled recently. There seems to be a real family feel at the building. I know some of the administrative staff volunteer their time to take some of the patients out on special outings including fishing, to rock concerts, and do lots of other things to make life better for these patients. I attended a really fun fire-work show for the patients on July 4th this year. Great building!

Whenever you see ANY facility full of agency staff, it should tell you about the moral and concern of the corporation AND it's direct staff. NO ONE WANTS TO WORK THERE, so what type of REAL professional or loving care would you or your family members receive if the company's can't manage and keep regular staff? Would you continue to trust this irresponsible behavior with LIFE? CNAs are HIGHLY overworked (they do 90% of hands on care with your family) nurses are LAZY, and feel they are TOO GOOD, to do ANYTHING for those residents other than pass a pill. Imagine an 80 years old lady, trying to maintain her dignity and NEED help going to the bathroom, but her CNA, is with another lady giving a shower as so the other CNAs are busy with residents, but at this place, this 80 years old lady will be made to hold it or use it on herself before a nurse will assist her. Nursing care is about complete care and concern for those in need of nursing care. But this facility pride itself with having pill pushers and BURNED out CNAs. It's sad because these residents are paying for mediocre uncaring living environments. It's bad enough they aren't with family, at least these companies should be made to keep their promise by making their living easier. NOT AN INDUSTRIAL WRECK!!! IT'S AN ASSEMBLY LINE THERE. HANDLED LIKE GOODS, rather than humans. An elderly prison. Some families will assume, "oh they are nice and it's wonderful there "... THAT'S because there's greed and need behind those smiles and warm greetings. When your not around MOMMY DEAREST SHOWS HER UGLY FACE. These companies should NOT be allowed to function without proper staffing and willing nurses to do nursing care. Last I check nursing care is WAY MORE THAN PAPER WORK, PUSHING CARTS AND PILLS. Run from this PLACE. Clean and welcoming, but ran like Pharaoh, using slave Israelites to keep up production without the proper necessities. Expect these Pharaohs are putting human lives at steak. Plenty of agency staff DON'T come back because of the ridiculous work load and high demand, being unable to properly provide AND MAINTAIN DIGNITY FOR THOSE THEY'RE CARING FOR AND KEEP ALIGN WITH STATE REGULATIONS. THEY'RE STILL PAPER CHARTING FOR CHRIST SAKE!!! That in itself shows greed greed!!! What nursing facility still paper charting? Who's auditing these people? I'M WILLING TO BET 60% OF THOSE CHARTS ARE FORGED TO KEEP UP WITH STATE GUIDELINES. BETTER RUN.
