Reviews
for Salyersville Nursing & Rehab
Been in the facility for numerous years, the residents are well taken care of. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure residents needs are met.
I’ve been working at Salyersville Nursing and Rehab for 2 years now, and overall, it’s been a positive experience. The staff genuinely care about the residents, and there’s a strong sense of teamwork and compassion throughout the facility. Like any workplace, there are areas that could be improved—such as communication between departments or staffing levels during particularly busy shifts—but our new management has shown a willingness to listen and make changes when concerns are raised. It’s rewarding to be part of a team that strives to provide quality care, and I would recommend Salyersville Nursing and Rehab to both potential employees and families looking for a supportive, caring place for their loved ones.
I've been at S.N.R.C. for 8 years, and I truly love all of our precious residents—past and present. It's also a great place to work! I’ve seen some negative reviews about our facility, which is why I gave us four stars. No matter how GREAT we are, there is always room for improvement in every department. So please consider leaving us a POSITIVE REVIEW—we strive to excel above your expectations!
I have worked here a long time, worked with good people that care and continue to work with good , caring people.
This place has been good to me.
Wonderful place to work, great employees who sincerely care about the residents.
I've worked here for 4 years. Best team to care for the residents around.
This is the worst place to put anyone in. My mom is in ths place right now and she is neglected everyday and tried to get her transferred to another nursing home and her power of attorney over her will not allow this to happen. She fell one night and had a big knot on her head and blood in her hair for days after this happened I even have photos with dates on the photos. Your administrator isn't doing his job why should I call him and talk to him when he's not even for the people that has to be in there. The food that you serve there I wouldn't feed to a animal and you keep the ones that can't get to leave so medicated up that most of them sleep all the time.
Horrible to staff. Horrible horrible horrible.
I wouldn’t allow my pet to even stay here! The administration is down right horrible. Residents and staff are always being belittled and degraded. Unless you’re in the little circle that’s in good with the administrator. The residents do not get the care they need and deserve. Anytime something gets reported it gets covered up and swept under the rug. These residents deserve so much better. I have seen first hand the poor care they receive. We have to be a voice for them! They need and deserve an administrator that truly cares for them! Let’s be a voice for them!
Worst administrator this building has ever had. He is absolutely mean to the workers and residents! I have saw first hand how horrible he treats people including myself. He should not be aloud around elders. There are more than a few has saw the horrible acts this man has done. At least 20 different people I know has had a horrible experience with him. People should protest u til this company does something to help Magoffin County’s Elders!
Administrator is horrible. Do not put your loved one or family/friend in this place. Trust me, i been in & around the facility since i was a child. Dont get me wrong, it used to be great back when we had Administration worth a hoot. He treats his workers horribly if their not in his friend click. I know of 4-5 women that he did bad till they had to quit. Women thats worked there 10-15 years had to find work else were due to his drama. I feel so sorry for the residents there. Im not sure why State hasnt done something about it. Not clean at all.
Ignore their patients, I can’t understand why they are in this kind of work, if they are just in it for the money. Zoo animals gets better treatment.
Neglectful.
From the heart of a Nurse. I have worked traveling all across the USA and this place seems like home to me. I didn't grow up here or go to school.here but I keep returning. As a registered nurse this is where I choose to go when the time comes. I have made it clear to my children and spouse. The floor staff never stop. They care for each resident as if they are family. I took care of a close family member in another facility. It had a newer building. Fancy carpet. All those things people think it takes to make a home nice, but it never had these dedicated caring people who try to give their all. I can think of 4 workers who have been there long enough to retire, but these people are their family now. I used to say to the residents, " I see you more than my mom and dad". And as sad as that is, it is true. It's a labor of love to dedicate your life to the betterment of others lives. And when things get so busy that I want to cry, I go to one resident, show them family pics, ask questions and try to giggle to joke with them. This person had never said anything to me, they are known as non-verbal, but I talk non-stop to them including them in the care. The worst troubled day I had recently I am doing this same routine and this person said as plain to me as I'm saying this to you "I'm ok", And I got to trust that it's true. Myra Wright, RN.
Wonderful place ❤️
Love this place and our residents! I have worked there 8 years! I would recommend it to anybody who has a loved one that needs therapy as well!
Unprofessional. They neglect their residents.
They neglect patients like I’ve never seen before. My dad got sepsis from this hell of a nursing home and passed away. The employees are giving it 5 star reviews so they won’t get caught.
My dad has a slim chance of survival due to septic shock from this joke of a nursing home. Awful place, rude staff, neglects the patients. He was supposed to have therapy on his leg but they failed to move him once and yelled at him. Worst “medical” facility I’ve ever seen.
This is such a great place! They took great care of my grandmother while she was there. The place was very clean and most of the staff was very friendly.
Wonderful caring facility. Cares a lot for the patients.
Wonderful staff and residents!
Such a great place. My mom stayed there for therapy on her hip. Everyone was so kind to her and I didn't have to worry about her being taken care of the way she should be.
Glad to visit my grandma here, it actually smell clean unlike most nursing homes. They do a great job working and at keeping it clean and in great shape 😀
Love all the managers and workers here, they are all so helpful and this place smelled very clean. It was spotless
Awesome place !! VERY clean and the staff really cares. I had two family members here and they were very well taken care of.
Worse place I’ve ever seen..I cannot believe how they treat their patients..I would NEVER recommend this place
Some of the staff at Salyersville Healthcare Center were not up to the standards I think they should be able to meet. They were extremely rough with the residents when bathing or changing them and they did not approach them with a friendly attitude. Not only were they rude but they also seemed to be bothered whenever a resident would request something. However, not all of the staff were so cold, some of them were very friendly and always came in with a smile. The home did offer daily games and activities for residents to participate in and also offered church services on scheduled nights which I was pleased with. They catered to everyones dietary needs and made sure to prepare the food according to their diet plans. The facility was clean and seemed well stocked. Overall it was an okay experience except a few staff members.
