Shelby Farms Senior Living

I moved my mother into Shelby Farms in December of 2024. I have been amazed at the level of care and service that their staff provide to her on a daily basis. I cannot imagine a better experience for an aging parent. The staff are attentive, patient, and caring. They communicated with me multiple times daily when she first arrived in order to update me on her health concerns and her acclimation to the facility. Would absolutely recommend and hope that this facility still exists when I am ready for assisted living!

I can't say enough good things about Shelby Farms. The care and environment is top notch. The nursing staff is phenomenal. My 95 1/2 year old mother has been there for 14 months and she is thriving. Highly recommend for impeccable care

Shelby Farms was the only place Dad looked and knew that’s where he wanted to be! From the first time we visited, Cindy and other sweet staff made us feel right at home. Dad loved the special attention to his daily needs - particularly a milk shake or a sandwich after dialysis and evening check-ins just to make sure he was doing alright. Having extra support 24/7 versus being at home alone is what he needed during this time as his health was changing somewhat rapidly. Wearing his safety pendant helped him and me while maintaining his independence too. He loved the friends he made at “his” table and being just a little bit social if he chose to be. Thank you, Shelby Farms, for all of your love and support when we needed it!

Shelby Farms has been wonderful for my parents. Cindy was great from day one, when we were still making decisions about how much care they would need and where they would move. They are so happy there. They can’t say enough about the activities and the food especially. It’s the best decision we could have made for them.

I toured Shelby Farms Senior Living. It's brand new, and I don't even think it's been open for six months. They still don't have grass out front. I loved it, and if it wasn't for money, that's where my mother would be right now. What scared me wasn't the actual cost because it was only $600 more than the other place. The way the man explained it to me was that let's say my mom is having a really bad week, and she needed extra assistance with showering and feeding. So, anything with extra, they tack on; he said it could be an additional of anywhere from $350 to $650. As your loved one gets worse, you don't know what you're going to be paying. It was considered all-inclusive, the food and all the personal items; but it was just the extra assistance that they were going to charge for that was just too iffy for me. Right now, my mother is physically able to do everything on her own. But as she progresses with her Alzheimer's, it's going to get worse and with that, not knowing each month how much extra they're going to add was a little scary for me. It's high-end everything, with high-end flooring. The kitchen area is just a kitchen out in the middle. They serve country style. They put bowls out and people can just get anything they want, they don't go by menu. They had ham and pork; it was truly like a buffet. They had both assisted living part and then memory care. I think they had 24 beds for memory care.

I would rate Shelby Farms Senior Living at the top of the list. Their memory care was top-notch. It's a new facility so it's very clean. They had a full-time chef on duty and it seemed like they were very caring and pleasant people. They followed up three or four times after we talked to them. They also coordinated some of the places that we went to to help try to find placement for us. So, they went above and beyond. The dining area was wonderful. Their food was delicious. We went into their exercise room where they do physical and occupational therapy and they had general exercises and games going on. It's a nice place.

What a beautiful facility! Caring staff, happy residents, delicious food, and a plethora of activities. 10/10 recommend Shelby Farms!
