Signature HealthCARE of Spencer County

I visited to interview 10 residents. Not one had bad things to say about the staff or building. This is also a rehab and the 2 there for that were satisfied and getting better. The Administrator and Business Manager were cordial and professional.

Signature healthcare of Spencer county is the best I have seen. The staff works well with one another and really care about the residents. The residents are happy and well engaged. My family member receives large portions of food that she loves. She has multiple activities a day to engage in. She is treated like family here and is thriving. I would recommend Signature to anyone.

Signature healthcare has been nothing short of great. Every person from maintenance up to the highest management has spoke to us and been beyond helpful and friendly. The facility is always clean and smells fresh. The residents seem happy and are being interacted and engaged with. My family member is very happy here and more importantly she is thriving. I would without hesitation rate this facility top notch and recommend it to anyone looking for a place for their loved one or their self.

My father likes the facility and is improving daily due to the staffs treatment for rehab. They have been very accommodating to his needs.

Signature HealthCare did wonders with my husband. Physical therapy got him back on track. The nurses, CNAs and all the staff were great with him. They treated him and me both with respect. They were so friendly and caring. Love the staff at Signature HealthCare. Thank you guys so much.

Both of my parents were well taken care of. The staff was very kind and caring and helped with a very difficult situation. We did have a couple hiccups but no place is without them. However, when brought to the attention of the supervisor, the matter was handled appropriately. Overall I am very pleased with the treatment my parents received.

Our family member has been there for over three weeks and we can’t say enough great things about the staff and the facility. They are all amazing and they all go out of their way to help in anyway they can. We started this journey not having a clue what we were doing and with their help the process has been great. The facility is clean and he loves it here as well. We would highly recommend this facility to anyone needing this type of care.

covered in BED BUGS!! staff is amazing but ran ragged with no support from who ever the “boss” is. but who ever is running this place SUCKS! threatening to terminate employees for bringing awareness to the situation. my grandmother was here for over a year before she past. numerous times she was left in the same clothes for days! and was also soiled! the nurses are already so understaffed and have absolutely no support from their higher ups

This is an awesome facility. They took great care of my mother. I would recommend to anyone. Great staff Great teamwork!!

The rooms are terrible, beds are old, food is horrible, the bathroom in my Mothers Room was shared with someone else , they pooped on the toilet and after 4 days of asking to have it cleaned, my aunt finally did it. On top of that because of the nasty toilet she contacted ECOLI, I also contacted ECOLI as did my mother we all used that bathroom the same day. This place is horrible and filthy. I have pictures if I could post them I would. I have to Give a rating of at least 1 star to submit. But it deserves 0 stars.

So far so good. I have been here 3 months now and had no problems with my care and all of my needs are being met. This is my last stop before the wings of angels carry to meet my maker.

It's not the building, it's the Staff! I have never met this many Great people in one place! My mother stayed here and every single staff member made it a point to know my mom and me. Warm, caring and hugs. They tended to her with so much care and made sure she was always comfortable. The nurses, nurse aids, physical therapists, kitchen, to the people in the office, front desk and cleaning people... All exceptional! I was called many times in regards to my mother, conversations with the head nursing staff (never an issue), needs were always met and with absolute dignity. When my Mother passed away, all of them were there to say "good bye". They tended to all of her family with such love, it made her passing beautiful. The hardest moment of my life and they made sure, I didn't have to worry. They explained every part. Honestly, I can't say enough about how wonderful my experience was at this nursing home. I felt love and to me.... that far out weighed seeing my reflection in the floor. Thank you to everyone of you at Signature Spencer. I am very grateful

I toured this Community on 7/24 and was thoroughly pleased with the smiling faces of the nurses, and the overall experience. The staff were very friendly. The campus is quite large and tucked away from the highway, very peaceful. I appreciate the Administrator and Director of Nursing (Michele & Kathy) meeting with me in helping understand the process of Skilled Nursing Care. Thanks so muhc.

My mother was here for several months; I cannot say enough good things about the care she received. Between Toni, Joy, Mary, Sarah, Gretchen and the many others that cared for her, the experience was above what I expected! The staff/admin are all genuinely invested in the residents and go out of their way to make them feel safe and included.

My Father in law was in there and was treated with respect and well taken care of. Thanks to all the staff for your love and care while he was there!

I have been here for 3 years and this is a great facility. Very family oriented. The staff all work well together to ensure the residents are well cared for.

I would recommend that if you are planning to place a loved one in a LTC facility that you check out our building. Friendly caring and compassionate staff

So many problems at Signature Healthcare of Spencer County. Food was abysmal, food service is contacted out. Many of the meals were almost non existent or not identifiable. Not something that you want for a rehab patient who needs to regain strength. Regular nursing staff and CNAs were fine for the most part. Too many agency nurses and CNAs who often didn't show up so constantly understaffed. Had issues with abusive CNA and had problems with Nurse who was neglectful - wasn't planning on addressing issues with broken bed leaving my husband in his wheelchair over 8 hours with bed sores. If I hadn't forced the issue they would have made him stay in his wheelchair overnight which was not an acceptable option. Management wasn't following up with these issues, didn't come speak with my husband. Just found out from Dir. Of Nursing that this CNA's contract wasn't renewed. Should have been watching the employees more closely as so many of the patients are memory care and wouldn't be capable of reporting abusive employees. Had issues with water running out of overhead light in the bathroom for days, light burnt out in bathroom for days and delays in getting into facility due to only being allowed in with an employee buzzing you in. Last issue was availability of PT, since they typically work 7 AM to around 2 PM there were many days my husband didn't get his PT. When he did get PT the staff was good working to help build his strength. Overall Not a good place for a Rehab Patient.

Signature Healthcare are second to none. The best thing that could happen for me and my Family. My mother has been there for about 6 years and she is very happy there. The whole staff are very professional and knowledgeable about their jobs and after every visit or phone call I tell them thank you for taking care of my mother. I want to personally tell the person that keeps the building clean to the administrator thanks for all that you do and I Love you so much for what you do.

Shortage of staff. Staff on wing my dad was on were great, but overworked. Parent got bologna for a meal. Cooking smell was non existent. Door buzzer to allow entrance and exit of building broken. No consistency with meal times. Clothing mixups. Building dated, paint colors not comforting to patients. Cost vs care not reasonable. Drug costs outrageous using their pharmacy provider only.

Staff is professional and friendly. The facility could use some renovation.

Signature HealthCARE of Spencer County was great. The building is well-kept and there are no holes in the wall. Everything was really clean and looked like it'd been freshly painted. My mom said the food is good and they actually would come in and feed her. When she pushes the button, they are there within a couple of minutes. It's a little farther away from me to drive to that place, but she likes it and the staff is nice and very helpful. My mom said that one of the guys who came in and fed her at lunchtime, watched cowboy movies with her and so they're nice. Her room is pretty nice and roomy, too. Most of the rooms are for two people, but she's by herself right now.

Cannot say enough great things about this small town, top notch facility!! They take amazing care of their patients and the staff absolutely care about their patients and go above and beyond!

Signature has been with us every step of the way. The team provides awesome communications with us as a family. We couldn't ask for better treatment of our mother. All of her health and general care is taken care but they go above to do the little things like paint her nails, massage her scalp get her strawberry shakes from Dairy Queen. :>) I thank each and every caregiver at Signature! Especially Tina Nation and Nurse Amy

My mom had to go down to Signature Healthcare of Spencer County for therapy about a little over two years ago. The first time we went in, everything was really great, and then we go in the second time. I was checking on my mom during her rehab process, and I asked the nurse who was taking care of her typical questions like has she eaten and the girl could not tell me anything. This was about the middle of the day. When you first go in, you know when you're a potential client, everybody is going to be the best to you and everybody's got time to talk to you. Then afterwards, it sort of slacks off. Like I said, when I asked the nurse about my mom and her condition, things like that, the nurse was unable to tell me anything and sent me to somebody else. It seemed like they had good food. This was around July, and they were having a lot of activities and fireworks. They're really going all out on their activities for the people.

My mother is in Signature HealthCARE of Spencer County. She has excellent service there, they have doctors and nurses. They have a bus that takes them to their doctors' appointments. They frequently call me if they're going to give a free shot or if she has a UTI or anything they have a problem with. They call and get a hold of me. I really like this place more than the other ones. They have a website that we get on, and they're constantly doing something every week. They do cookouts, bingo, they have a lot of things to do. If you don't like your lunch or dinner they'll fix you something special. You can have a burger or grilled cheese. If you want snacks or treats you can get them upon request. So they really have a lot to offer there. The staff is outstanding and the building is dated, but very clean and well taken care of. They don't have a big turnover. They have a lot of residents that have been there for a while.

This place is like family. I placed my sister in law there for rehab. They welcomed her with open arms. Had a few misunderstandings, mostly about Covid policies, but we worked it out. I would reccomend this place to anyone looking for a family environment for their loved ones.

My Mother came to Signature Healthcare in Spencer County to get Rehabilitated due to needing to build strength up from a major surgery . I can’t say enough great things about this facility . Everyone was very nice to my mother and encouraging her every step of the way to get better . I thought everyone I talked with was wonderful and helpful . It seemed that everyone loved their job and the patient care was their main focus . Both my Father and Mother have been to rehab at another facility and we have found it was nothing compared to Signature Health in Spencer County . The room my mother stayed in was very nice and clean . Also the therapy she received was awesome as she has made so much improvement in 2 weeks time . The Nursing Care is excellent as well. I have nothing negative to say at all from her stay and services she received. Thank You Signature Healthcare for the wonderful care you gave to my mother .

Signature healthcare of Spencer county is comprised of a multidisciplinary team that are dedicated to person centered and compassionate care to our elders. Every part of the building from dietary, quality of life, to all nursing staff have the best approach of patient care in mind and treat each resident like their own. My family member is a resident here and has been cared for in an exceptional manner and I am so happy our family member can live at Spencer county of signature healthcare, a true home!

The staff and facility are amazing! Special thanks goes out to Tina Nation & Tina Elmore for their love and compassion! They qoute " it's nice going to work and feel like its not a job because the residents are so sweet and it rewards are amazing! The smiles and laughter was awesome! Again thank you all for treat these amazing people with such love! We had an amazing time with all of you Saturday morning 10:00 Dec. 21st!

my mon was admitted over 30 days ago after a hospital stay, She required both rehab and wound care as well as monitoring for several other conditions. The entire staff, from business office to nurses , aides, kitchen and custodians have been great, professional and very caring, They great you with a smile when you visit, answer questions and they truly care abut patients. Long term care is a very challenging and complicated and I really appreciate their hard work and dedication. Facility is older, but clean and the staff makes the difference. I am there at different times of the day and feel My mom is safe and getting care she needs

Provides amazing quality of life!

My dad is now in Signature Healthcare of Spencer County. It’s very nice, very bright, and cheerful, and everyone’s very cordial and very friendly. My brother or I will take him to activities, but he doesn’t participate. We just take him to get him out of the room and be with other people. They do bingo, adult coloring books, and there’s church services almost every other day. At night, they have a lot of singing groups that come in, and there’s always something going on. The food is not very good, but he’s not eating much anyway.
