Reviews
for The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence, Louisville
My father received wonderful care at the Lantern at Morning Pointe. The nursing staff was not only very knowledgeable about dementia, but caring, and available twenty four hours a day. There are plenty of activities, very good meals, and great lines of communication! I am eternally grateful for my father being at this top tier dementia facility!! John Little II
The Lantern is absolutely amazing! If you are looking to transition your loved one to a new home this is the place!!!!! It is truly family here, the staff goes above and beyond to make sure all their residents have their needs met. The staff is always doing daily activities to keep the residents socializing and smiling. The facility is clean and smells nice. The staff always have smiles on their faces. If you want your loved one truly cared for this is the place 🩷
The lantern is the most wonderful place for your loved ones with Alzheimer’s. We looked everywhere and this place has it together and knows what the needs are for this disease. I give this facility 5 stars .
Great staff and the Directors are amazing! All residents look happy any time I see them. I would definitely recommend bringing your loved one here.
My grandmother spent the last year of her life here, and loved the activities she got to participate in. She got all her meals, a great place to live, and a caring staff. She's no longer with us, but I still love the staff and all that they do for their residents. I would highly recommend Morning Pointe Lantern for any family member that needed their services.
Courtney Whitaker is the Executive Director and is an absolute pleasure to work with! I would highly recommend this for your forever home!
What a lovely community !! The staff were delightful and always there to take care of mom. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a place for your loved ones.
The Lantern stands out as an exceptional assisted living memory care center that truly prioritizes the well-being and dignity of its residents. From the moment you walk through the doors, you're welcomed into a warm, home-like environment that feels more like a close-knit community. The comforting atmosphere, thoughtfully designed spaces, and attention to detail make residents feel safe, respected, and valued. One of The Lantern’s most impressive strengths is its genuine engagement with residents. The staff goes above and beyond to foster meaningful connections, ensuring each individual is not only cared for but also actively involved in daily life. Whether it’s through personalized activities, interactive programs, or simply taking time to share a conversation, the team consistently promotes cognitive engagement and emotional well-being. What sets The Lantern apart is their holistic approach to memory care—one that honors the individuality of every resident. They understand that quality of life is just as important as quality of care, and they work tirelessly to ensure both. From thoughtful daily routines to nutritious meals and social enrichment, every aspect of life at The Lantern is thoughtfully designed to enhance comfort, dignity, and joy. I would highly recommend The Lantern to any family seeking a compassionate, supportive, and enriching environment for their loved ones. It’s a place where care feels personal, and where residents are truly seen, heard, and appreciated.
I recently toured The Lantern at Morning Pointe in Louisville and was so impressed that I had to write a review! The executive director was warm and welcoming, taking the time to answer all my questions. The staff stood out as positive, attentive and genuinely caring. The atmosphere felt safe and comforting, which is exactly what you’d want for a loved one in memory care. Highly recommend checking it out!
Great experience volunteering! Not at all what I expected from a memory care facility. Felt like I was home with family while I was there. Also quite lively compared to some dreary facilities.
Here at the Lantern of Morning Pointe in Louisville, Ky, we have an AWESOME STAFF! Everyone works well together and no one is to proud to go beyond their job titles. Our Executive Director Courtney, gets busy cleaning patients rooms and housekeeping. Our Business office director does the same as well as some light painting . You know that you have a good team when you look forward to coming to work.
The Lantern Louisville is such a blessing for our family! We interviewed and toured several places for the absolute best care for my aunt and ultimately ended up there. We are over the top pleased with the care and attention she receives and she always seems to be perfectly content when we visit. The leadership and caretakers are second to none and we are met with welcome smiles and hugs and treated like family. Total answer to prayer.
Love visiting my aunt at The Lantern at Morning Pointe in Louisville. The staff are so nice and the place is clean which we appreciate!
This community is the best Memory Care in Louisville- hands down. I have been at this community for 3 months and proud to see people care so much. The team is lead by a dementia expert with tons of local resources. Programming really is person centered and the care team serve with heart. I have enjoyed my time here and would highly suggest to anyone needing memory care in Louisville!!
I personally want to thank everyone.my mother received such good care. my mother has Dementia is a horrible disease. It takes a lot of patience to take care of someone. And here at lantern, the staff is wonderful. They took wonderful care of my mother, and they made me feel like I'm family. I would recommend this place for your loved ones also very clean . Again.Thank you from the bottom of my heart. For taking such good care of my mother
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I can't name everything negative about this facility other than to say this video and the tour are all smoke and mirrors as well as flat out lies. My husband was here for six months before I moved him. He was neglected on a daily basis, left to lay in a urine soaked bed for several hours. This in turn caused acidic burns from his bottom up to his neck. It took three months to clear up his back, but some wounds continued to progress to the bone. He passed four months after he was evicted from this place, due to his deteriorating health. Suffice it to say, I wouldn't let any loved one ever go to this facility!
They don't work any harder than anyone makes them. My brother laid in urine soaked bedding and got burns on his back, which have now spread all the way up his back. Minimal care. I would never recommend this place. Thank heavens we moved him home.
I have volunteered here several times and the place is always clean and smells nice. The caregivers seem to really care about the residents and anticipate their needs. The activities are always interesting and have a huge crowd and the residents seem happy and content.
I moved my mom to the Lantern at Morning Point in Louisville in March of 2023. It is very reassuring to know that my mom is taken care of with love and respect on a daily basis. Dementia is not an easy disease to deal with and the people that work here treat everyone like they are family. Even when my mother is difficult to handle, they are trained to work with the residents in a very positive and caring way! Everyone there does their best to engage the residents, and they show them love and care for them as if they were their own parents! The daily activities encourage residents to participate and work to slow the progression of their dementia with various physical and cognitive activities! Thank you so much for giving me peace of mind knowing my mom is in an excellent home with amazing staff!
The Lantern at Morning Pointe Louisville had activities all the time. They would post stuff on Facebook showing the residents doing activities. When we were there, they'd have people come in and sing for them or play instruments. They had games that they played. My dad, of course, had Alzheimer's, so he would go around and steal anything he could, but it's just part of it. When they noticed that, they made him his own little junk drawer and made pictures of a pencil or scissors, and different items that he might like to take. They would put those around and he'd go pick those up and put them in his junk drawer. I thought that was genius. If he wasn't eating, they would sit down and try to coerce him to eat. If he didn't like his food, they would make something else and bring it to him, something that he would eat. They knew everyone in my family's name. I hadn't even met some of the staff yet, but when I would walk in to visit my dad, they called me by my name and said that my dad's over there, doing this or whatever. They knew where he was. They knew me. His room was bigger. The facility was nicer, cleaner, and the staff seemed to care. Every time I go in, they give me an update on how he was doing or what he was doing. It was great.
My siblings and I have been very pleased with the services our father has received at The Lantern at Morning Pointe! The facility is open and welcoming, and the staff, including all members of the management and office team, take extra effort in getting know each and every resident. The campus is beautiful and offers an outdoor patio area and courtyard. The staff works diligently to engage residents in daily activities. The staff has gone above and beyond over the past year to adjust to the COVID-19 CDC guidelines and continues to keep families informed on all updates on a timely basis. I highly recommend this facility for a loved one with dementia or Alzheimers.
The facility is BEAUTIFUL! The staff is so friendly and welcoming. This is the best place that mom or dad could call home!
This place was incapable and without staff and trained professionals to even lift him out of bed. I had to call the Kentucky ombudsman to report Elder neglect. Otis is a complete liar and represents a pretty place with few staff on holidays. They ordered my dad to bed cause they had no staff ...only one intern type to get him up. Told him he couple poop in his pants cause they could not manage him and the other patients. This place is smoke and mirrors. If you want your parent fed, do it yourself. If you complain, they refuse to let you see your parent who is paying for Otis salary and maybe the room. Forget having a real nurse.
