Reviews
for The Neighborhood at Hopkinsville
Oh my goodness what an awesome and amazing facility to have a love one in. I recommend The Neighborhood at Hopkinsville to everyone that's looking for a nurturing, caring, clean and safe facility to have their love ones live. The Neighborhood at Hopkinsville is top notch. I had the experience of a lifetime there as I was invited in to pamper the seniors with a pampering session on their hands. The staff gave me a tour that left my mouth open wide at how beautiful it was. I was invited to lunch and that's the best food and dessert I've tasted at a Senior living facility. The cook and kitchen staff were top notch and got an A+ in my book. The management staff is top notch as well as I witness how they talked to the residents making them feel love and wanted. They got an A+ too in my books. Simply beautiful and amazing. Hats off to them all. Blessings, Amanda Carter
The Neighborhood at Hopkinsville is an older community. I only interacted with one person. He was very nice, very knowledgeable, and very helpful, but another person I was supposed to deal with didn't return my calls. I was put off by the lack of an initial response. I had set up a tour online, but nobody returned my calls. I ended up having to call the facility and get somebody to call to reschedule. Even though they allowed me to schedule online, I never got a response. They had a very small outdoor space. The rooms were not updated and were not cohesive. The way they were set up was very awkward. They had one laundry room for the whole complex, and they had one washer-dryer that seemed to be outdated. They're getting ready to upgrade, but unfortunately, everybody is going to have to live through all those upgrades. Also, they would charge a $3000 nonrefundable fee, so people need to know that before they sign up with them.
The facility was short handed a lot. Didn't really have time to clean rooms as they should. I think Mom liked it ok she never really complained. being short handed hurt them some but they had some good employees. It took a couple of months to get her deposit back. I had to contact home office several times. The administrator was not that cooperative. A lot of residents left when a new charter home came in town but I understand they had same problems. Mom passed before the charter home came in.
The people at this place are extremely helpful! The building is beautiful and the atmosphere is very positive. The residents living there seem to be very happy and content. The food is very tasty and the dining room is set up beautifully. Everyone is so nice. I would recommend this place for your loved one.
The facility is nice for the money. The office needs updating on its paper work. Tried to get some information from them to help with our VA pension and never could get any help.
I moved my mom to this place and one month later I quickly moved her out . This place is very unprofessional from the gatekeeper karcus to karen to jessica and andre the maintenance person on down . It's ran very ghetto like , there's drama among the staff , no sincere care for seniors my mom clothes weren't washed for 3 weeks the only reason they were finally washed was because enough was enough and I finally put my foot down . There's mice trap houses everywhere in the place. First day I was there to see if it was right for my Mom at the very end of the initial briefing is when I was told by karen there's a one time $3000 non refundable grounds keep fee lol . This place is totally a money grab establishment . $4000 a month that's for a senior with absolutely needing No assistance , there's nothing extravagant about this place for the money there asking , they serve basic cafeteria type meals . The staff in that place is very dark spirited ~ would not advise anyone to take there love ones there . If I could rate 0 stars I would . May GOD Bless this wicked world and the people in it...
I called this community searching for my mom. The Director [name removed] was patient due to my ignorance. He explained the in's and outs of his place. My family could not move forward due to financial reasons. I would recommend this place to anyone just because of his willingness to help find affordable places that accept Medicare. I felt the need to make this review to help others.
The facility is located in a great area and close to family. Staff are EXCELLENT! I would highly recommend The Neighborhood at Hopkinsville.
I would say that they are clean, friendly, and quiet. But they seem under staffed and the food isn't good.
My loved one is a resident at The Neighborhood at Hopkinsville and the overall experience has been just okay. The food is not good. Most of the staff is not great. If I could, I would move my loved one. However, for several reasons, I cannot.
The Neighborhood is a warm and friendly place. My Mom is there and she was resistant when she moved in but their patience and caring allowed her to be assimilated. She loves the staff and the care they take with all her needs. She enjoys socialization with people of her age group. The food is good and there are plenty of activities to do [thank you Jessica!]. The resident care Director is excellent, always willing to assist when special needs come up. It is a wonderful place for my Mom. She really likes it there.
We are very satisfied with The Neighborhood Assisted living. The staff is very friendly, they take care of everything he needs. And he and his cat are happy. It is a friendly and helpful environment, which I would recommend. I visited many assistant living homes before choosing, and I feel like we made the right choice.
The biggest situation was they were short on help, as everyone was. The staff seemed to be ok. They did have activities, but mom was older and not interested in many. Mom was there during transfer of ownership and new Director, but she did ok. Overall the facility was clean. We had to complain about mom's room a couple of times, they were short handed. They have major competition coming in and they seem to be trying to improve. After mom passed it took a few months to get her refund, which was too long. I would recommend them to family and friends.
I cannot thank Donna and her entire staff for their compassion, loving, friendliness and caring they showed us! Because of these wonderful people my father decided to move to Kentucky into this living facility. (It was them!!!!!) They made him feel like family!!!! The facility is outstanding. Unfortunately, due to the unexpected passing of my father he was not able to move up here and into the facility. They have been very supportive in getting the financials worked out. If, you are looking for a assisted living facility ….. look no further!! THIS FACILITY IS AMAZING!!!! THEY ARE HOME!!!!!!
The Neighborhood at Hopkinsville was very nice, very homey, and clean. Everyone said hello. The residents and the staff both were very friendly. The administrator, Donna, was extremely nice and very informative. She answered every single question. She made my mom feel really welcome and that it was gonna be OK, because my mom doesn't really want to do this. I liked the fact that she's created an atmosphere of home instead of a nursing home. They get to decorate their doors, and they get to decorate how they want. We got there at lunchtime and we were commenting about the food, that it smelled so good, and she goes, "Yes, I have a director of food and beverage that makes everything from scratch. She doesn't believe in opening cans." We heard from many residents that the food is extremely good. The only thing that I didn't like was it's on kind of a busy street at the corner, but it's not that big of a deal. The administrator asked what exactly my mom would need, and my mom is not really bad. She needs medication reminders and she needs someone in the bathroom when she takes a shower in case she falls, and that's about it. There are other people she said that need a person with them at all times, so it ranges from everything that they need help with all the way up to they're just living there and they just kind of watch them. Mom just needs mild assisted living. The staff all came up and introduced themselves. Mom didn't try the food, but she was offered because she said she was getting shaky because she hadn't eaten. The administrator offered her a plate of food and my mom refused it, but she did get a bag of chips and some water. The administrator went and got that for her. They have a courtyard to sit in, a living room with a real fireplace, games, and books, and a quiet room where you could go and sit and contemplate, and there are books in there and a computer. They have little alcoves where you can sit by yourself. It's very, very homey in a lot of the common places where they can have their family with them. They even have a big dining table so that when families come to visit they can eat at that table instead of in the dining room with everybody else. It was very nice.
Other than the food, The Neighborhood at Hopkinsville is a nice place to live. I would like to see them serve food that is easier to eat for older people with poor teeth, dentures or no teeth. But the staff is very helpful and sweet with the residents. And it's easy for the residents who have some form of dementia to get around.
Very nice place. Touring for a family member. Assisted living. Friendly staff. Clean.
Beautiful facility!
Amazing place! I volunteered here for a while and fell in love with the residents and the staff. Awesome people making life easier and more enjoyable for beautiful people.
Last summer my wife and I moved my mother to Morningside of Hopkinsville. She is 98 years old and was living in a retirement community. She was declining mentally and had more and more problems. At Morningside she gets three meals a day and enjoys the food but the society of eating with peers in a regular pattern has been wonderful for her. She goes to exercise five days a week. Lately she has been walking laps around the hall way. Twelve times around is a mile and she does it every morning. She plays cards and checkers with fellow residents or if no one wants to play staff members will play cards with her. There are a lot of activities that she enjoys. She is happy and we are very happy.
The most kind, loving staff who treat my mom like their mom! Clean, friendly environment with lots of activities!
We had no problem with our visit here. It's a great facility. We saw the rooms and we felt it's small. It had one bedroom with a bed in the middle and television. The dining room was spacious and food was very good. The staff were very helpful to us.
I chose it because for one reason, it's closer to my children. And another reason is that I like the atmosphere of the community. They have bingo there and music. The staff are friendly and they check on you. If you need something, they would do their best to do it as soon as possible. The food taste good.
