Reviews
for The Springs at Oldham Reserve
Very friendly and like your home. Great living areas and care. I plan on going there for rehab after my open heart surgery my friend lives there and she loves it.
The Springs of Oldham County Reserve is fabulous! I was in rehab for 3 weeks & would gladly have stayed longer if needed! If you need rehab, you cannot do better than the Springs! And it’s only been in operation for 2 years so it’s very pretty too. The staff are wonderful, positive, & encouraging: Admissions, PT, OT, Nurses & Aides, the kitchen staff & servers, housekeepers & laundry people were outstanding & very warm & friendly. One of the aides asked how I liked it there & I told her I loved it! She said she’d worked at 2 different nursing homes before coming to the Springs. She said, “I wouldn't have been a patient at either of them. But I'd stay at the Springs!” Someone who works there & sees “behind the scenes” & would gladly be a resident there is a HUGE endorsement! The food was great! If it was a restaurant, I’d be going there often even though I’m 45” away. PT & OT really helped me make progress. Their Tuesday/Thursday chair exercise class is wonderful & fun. They also had me doing exercises while standing to build the lower part of my body. I talked at meal times with some of the independent living & assisted living residents & they all love living there! You cannot do better than the Springs of Oldham Co Reserve!
Over the last year I've unfortunately had two different family members have accidents that required physical therapy. On both instances I reached out to The Springs at Oldham Reserve to see if they had room availability for patients. Each time the Admission Coordinator, Aimee Cline went above and beyond to get placement for my loved ones. She helped contact insurance, helped coordinate everything we needed and gave us options on how to assist with the transition. Once they started their PT, both my in laws LOVED it. From everything to the patient room, entertainment, food, doctors, nurses and staff they said that it was above and beyond anything they had expected. The Springs at Oldham Reserve not only took care of them, but made them feel like their stays were just as good as them living in their own homes. I cannot rave enough about this facility. If you are looking to place a loved one somewhere for PT, for long term care or to live...I HIGHLY recommend The Springs at Oldham Reserve. You will NOT be disappointed!!!
Everyone you meet at the Springs is kind & caring. My father has been there twice for rehab & we were so pleased with his care. The staff remembered him when he went back for his second stay. They plan activities that make the stay enjoyable, especially the brunches! I would highly recommend the Springs!
I have two relatives in this facility, each in a different level of care. The people that work here are fantastic and caring. My relatives love the food and the facility itself is beautiful. It is wonderful to have such a nice facility to provide this type of care in this area. I have had a few challenges and the occasional frustration, but if you spend time around the facility you will see that this is a difficult job. Some of the residents need a lot of attention and can be demanding at times. The staff members I have seen take it in stride and do their job with a smile on their faces. Overall, I have visited other facilities when looking for a place for loved ones and this is by far the nicest facility I have seen. The staff is great and very caring. My relatives have been shown nothing but love and kindness here. I have spent many hours at The Springs visiting relatives over the last 18 months and I am very happy that my loved ones are here.
I would give the overall facility 3.0 stars. This facility needs to hire more aides and nurses. The ones who work here are so overwhelmed and overworked because of the understaff issue. We were promised there would be atleast 2 aides or 1 nurse on the Legacy wing at all times…. We come every night only to see 1 aide by themself and 1 nurse that is in charge of multiple wings at a time… facility needs more consistency in the staff as there is lots of turnover, maybe increase incentives and policies to make staff want to stay. 5.0 stars given solely due to Grace and Susan Shaw over on the 200 Legacy wing. They thoroughly care about each one of the residents and when they are off shift you can tell the difference as they are the ones who keep a consistent schedule on this wing for the residents. They both are so caring, so PATIENT, and so attentive to these residents.
I have a relative currently staying at this facility. Their staff is extremely nice in their unit, however; this associate was extremely rude when it was simply asked of her to help assist 3 elderly ladies find an activity that was advertised on their calendar. She refused to help and never apologized. I think if you work here, you should be pleasant and helpful to the people you are supposed to assist. Make the effort to do your job. Management please train your associates to have empathy for those they help. One day they may need the same care and I pray they will be treated with respect. Thanks!
Visited a church member today. Very clean and doesn’t have that nursing home smell. It was lunch time and the patients seemed to be well taken care of.
Very nice and clean rehab and assisted living facility. Caring staff. Also has senior Apts. Fairly new in a nice quiet area of Lagrange.
My granddaughter, Brooklyn Baskett, works here. And I had the pleasure of visiting the facility and getting to see what it was all about. The entire place was very clean, fresh and welcoming. I spoke to several of the residents and all of them were happy to be there and were well taken care of. A very nice place.
Nice neighbors
My dad is currently staying after surgery from a fall. He can’t move around or get himself out of bed, and that includes going to the bathroom. It takes forever for an aide to come after using the call button, and they seem to neglect patients. When we visit he’s peed through his depends and his sheets are soaked, and hours later he still hasn’t been changed. Today, Wednesday morning, was the first time someone changed his depends since Monday. We’ve explained that he can’t move, has slight dementia, and needs help with basically everything. I wish we would have sent him elsewhere. Nobody should have to sit in urine soaked sheets and clothes for days, and there’s only so much we can physically do when we visit. On top of that, I called to talk to the executive director about all of this and still have not received a call back. I wish we would have sent him elsewhere. If you have a family member who actually needs help doing everyday tasks and needs to be checked on every couple hours, do not send them here. Do not let the nice fancy building fool you.
I have two relatives who have stayed this year at The Springs at Oldham Reserve within 6 months apart. They went there after surgery from a fall. It is a new facility & that helps with the appearance. Most of the “understaffed” care givers appear to be overworked, overwhelmed, grim & tired. Both of the patients could not perform their everyday task, as usual, due to their injuries & required more assistance than they received. Anytime we went to visit, which was on a daily/weekly basis, we found a urine soaked loved one, along with bedding, too. We were astonished & very hurt to see our loved ones in this condition! If we brought this to the staffs attention, it was not well received. We were confused with exactly what level of care was supposed to be given? I will give the 2 stars because we definitely need this facility in our community & want to see it thrive!
This facility is good- John makes 2nd floor!! His caring, compassionate servant heart... make him your gold standard employee and you'll be full of residents! The food is subpar- 3 main courses are available for each meal.... and if you don't like 2, get used to the 1 because that's your only option for the ENTIRE week. Supply chain is an issue, but being out of coffee for almost a week (when walmart essentially shares a parking lot with the facility) was a visible "inconvenience" for residents and guests. I have no concerns of my grandmother's safety and the building is great! Our only other real, wish it were different item is the toilet. While I'm sure everything is ADA compliant, they're still rather small and for my grandma who is used to a high oval shape, the smaller round is proving a slight inconvenience for her. And while my experience was great, my cousin who does activities of daily living with grandma has said multiple requests have been met with "I don't know know" and left unattended. While this age sounds not amazing, it is a great facility, but no 5 can I give. It's a little rough around the edges for now
I cannot say enough great things about our recent visit here to see my dad. The place is so clean, the staff is so friendly, and the food is great. They really take care of their residents. This was a picture taken from their deck outside where we were able to set up his telescope and look at the moon. May not seem like much to some…but to him and us…it was all we needed. Thanks to everyone there. 5-stars
I toured The Springs at Oldham Reserve. They have big, nice grounds. It reminds me of an upgraded hotel, and it's nice. The room was like an upgraded hotel room, but more elegant. It's very nice, too. The staff was very helpful. She took the time that I needed to answer any questions or concerns that I had. She sat down with me for at least an hour. She took me through the whole thing. If I had any questions or concerns, she was very available and personable. She told me to call her at any time. They're very nice, respectful, courteous people. They have a chef that is in charge of the food. The dining area for memory care is small. It is a smaller place. The staff went and got me a January calendar and it was full of activities. It's looking really good for what they would do. They also have a hair salon, an exercise room, a private dining room area, and three courtyards. They also have a brand-new bus to take them out.
