Reviews
for Treyton Oak Towers
Treyton Oak Towers is where a loved one of ours with dementia was staying for short term rehab. The place is well maintained and kept clean daily. Even maintenance checked on each room daily. There are multiple beautiful gardens outside to enjoy. All the plants were labeled, and I'm thankful for that small detail as I took pictures so I could buy some of the plants for our home. Free coffee available all day. A beautiful chapel. A library. A grand piano. Plenty of sitting areas. And an activity room right on the second floor that was always staffed with friendly people. They have an activities schedule with multiple things to do each day that is posted in every room. They even have someone stopping by to paint the womens finger nails (for free) and have beauty parlor/hair salon visits scheduled. We were encouraged to visit all the places in the building and we took advantage of everything we could. WAGS Pet Therapy of Kentucky also visited with 2 dogs that did tricks for everyone. What a nice touch! The nursing staff was very pleasant and attentive to our needs and concerns. The food was great and so was the atmosphere and decor. The permanent residents seemed very happy to be there and were also very friendly. The physical therapy was designed specifically for our loved one and gradually progressed with each session. A special shout out to LA on the 12th floor for going above and beyond to help us get our loved one to the rooftop rose garden for a short visit while in a wheelchair. Thank you LA! We couldn't have seen this without your help. That being said, there were a couple of items that need attention. First, our loved one wears dentures, and not once did the staff help her with them during the stay, even though the container was on the sink. We did this ourselves when we could. And we almost always had a family member there from 10am-7pm to provide comfort for our loved one who didn't recognize her environment or why they were there. We would usually put the hearing aids on the charger for the evening and informed the staff to speak loudly when they were being charged. Sometimes we had to leave before they changed our loved one into bed clothes for the evening, so we would ask for the staff to charge her hearing aids. About half the time they forgot, so the next day the hearing aids would be dead, causing confusion with our loved one while we tried to charge them enough to be able to be used for a few hours. Finally, Kenya on the second floor should be reprimanded (at the very least) and properly trained to handle patients with dementia before being permitted to work again with patients. At one point our loved one needed help in the restroom. When Kenya tried to help, our loved one got mad and yelled "wait a minute, I'm not done." Kenya looked at me and said point blank, "I don't have to take that abuse and you need to tell them to stop." I told Kenya that our loved one has dementia and had just started the anger faze a couple weeks ago. Kenya said "I don't care. This person can't talk to me that way." Then she abruptly left and we had to get another staff person to help. I almost gave her a piece of my mind right then and even looked up the elderly abuse hotline because I was furious with her behavior toward our elderly family member who doesn't understand what is happening. Her attitude was totally unacceptable! Everyone else on staff knew how to deal with dementia patients and did a good job. We even apologized at times for our loved ones behavior (which they have no control over), and it's heartbreaking to deal with this and watch them deteriorate from who they once were. We were always told don't worry, it's OK, we deal with it all the time and completely understand. Beyond that, I would have gladly given them a 5 star rating. I still highly recommend this place, as we have, unfortunately, had to deal with several rehab facilities over the last couple of years for more than one family member. This one was by far the best, and if we need further assistance, this is where we will go.
A wonderful place to retire and to continue to grow and learn.
My mom spent a couple weeks there in the rehab, before she had to go back in the hospital. The nurses and staff are great. When ever there was a problem with my mom they either called me or talked to me when I went there. The place is nice clean for the residents. They answered any questions that brother and I had about my moms care. They have plenty of activities for the residents to enjoy. The last day she was there she became ill. They called ems and called me immediately. She had a medical condition that was not diagnosed in the hospital before she went there. That is what caused her to get sick that morning.
Staff was good, but the management is driven by insurance companies. My fathers short term rehab was contested by insurance from day 1, and he won 5 appeals before complete denial. After discharge, they refused to give me his medications or list of meds taking. A place that is owned by walnut street Baptist church, and shows hypocritical beliefs in the way of their teachings.
Treyton oak towers is a well ran establishment. Staff is very professional and compassionate. I would recommend Treyton oak towers to anyone. A+++ service.
The staff is great. Attending to all needs of the residents. They actually “spoil” the residents. Great place
We visited our good friend for overnight and a full day We were very well cared for by an excellent, caring staff. This is a lovely place to stay.
Why 5 stars u ask. Who gets 5 stars anymore right. First off the facility is gorgeous. From the minute you walk in the door in the lobby you see the beautiful first floor which we recently renovated. The employees really do a phenomenal job taking care of OUR residents. Yes I said OUR residents. I work here and it truly is a one of a kind feel here. Truly has the family feel here between the residents and the employees. Don’t believe me come see for yourself. Tell them you’d love to take a tour and be sure to go see some of our beautiful show rooms 509,713,1009,1106 or even 1206 to better give u a idea of what your future home can look like should you decide you want this to be your forever home. TOT is the best and better then the rest. Look no further this will be your last stop if you decide to come take a tour. EW
Excellent place to live and experience staff.
I was absolutely amazed at all the areas here! They have a staff that is like family and friendly! Residents have lots of things to do without leaving their home! Fantastic food, a great variety to choose from! Clean and emaculant place to call home!
Treyton Oak Towers is a wonderful place for current and future residents the building and resident floors are very clean and well kept by the cleaning staff at all time's. The chef's and kitchen staff take pride in providing excellent service and meals for their residents and security has a strong presence to ensure the safety of their valued residents at all times. Overall this is a place I would highly recommend if you are searching for a Senior Living Independent Community were staff & administration take pride in the service they provide for their residents!!!
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!!!!
My husband moved into Treyton Oak Towers. It was just the right environment for him. The activities that they have are more intellectual. He's a former professor, so the fact that they have lectures and stuff like that is what we thought would go with him better. The facility is very, very nice. He's doing independent living, but they have help for things like showering. The location is better because it's downtown, so it's more centrally located to all of us. We thought the atmosphere was better for him. The staff is pretty experienced, and I've had very good experiences with them. They have a gym. They have a theater. They have obviously a beautiful dining hall, and they have a very good library. It was a much superior library to the other facilities. They have lots of nice lounge areas that they can sit around in. They do have a little grocery store there. They had a luau one night. They have all of these excursions that they can take. They take people to the orchestra, when that starts happening again. They have a lot of variety available for people to choose from should they want to. They have a beautiful garden that is kept up by the tenants, so that's great. For people who like gardening, there's a place for them to do that.
A lovely facility with kind people working there. But beware of the sales people and the Endowment Program. They signed my 94 year old mother up for a $96,400.00 "Endowment" program and played on her fears to keep her from taking advice advice from friends and family. They sold her a place on their long term care floor that they never even showed her. After her death less than two years later we recouped $20,000. But they kept $74,000 her money. If your loved one is at all vulnerable I would look elsewhere.
The rehab floor needs rehab! We had a family member there (April 2021) and the staff were overworked, management was not available, rooms were dirty and needed paint and ceiling repair. We moved our loved one to another site for their well being. So sad, we had another family member there a couple years ago and it was great. I feel for the poor staff that were trying to keep up, but there were not enough of them compared to the work load. I hope things get better there for all those residents and staff. Shame on the Administration.
My mom has been an independent living resident in the Treyton Oak Towers community for 5 1/2 years. It has been great for her as she is so involved with activities, working in the resident store, volunteering on the freight elevator on moving days and so much more. Even more, her children are so relieved and happy to know she is in such caring and attentive hands. I am so grateful and thankful for the amazing staff and look forward to many more lively years for my mom.
Both my mother and mother-in-law live at TOT. They have had a wonderful experience in their 5 years there. My mother- in-law often remarks how it "feels like family". The staff truly care about the residents. Would recommend TOT to anyone looking for a vibrant and safe senior living community.
My mom has been at Treyton Oak for the last ten years or so. My family is so thankful that she is in such a wonderful, caring environment. My mom is 100 years old and still lives in her own apartment. Covid has brought a lot of challenges, but TOT has handled the situation well and kept my mom safe. The employees like Ray, La Rita and many others are very friendly. The physical facility is beautiful and well kept. It’s not at all like a nursing home. The dining room is beautiful and the food is very good. The outdoor space is also lovely. So glad we made the right choice when we chose Treyton Oak Towers.
My mom has resided at TOT for over three years. Seldom does a day go by that she does not remark on how pleased she is to be living there. She is particularly enamored of the friendly staff.
My mother-in-law really enjoys her home here. The staff are wonderful and caring.
My mom resides at Treyton Oaks Towers and we feel blessed to have her there. She lives the staff, social events and care she receives. She currently is in independent living but it is good to know that no matter her level of care TOT can meet the challenge. When we visit the staff is friendly and extremely helpful. We hosted her 80th birthday party a few years ago there and it was fabulous. The care and concern through COVID was exceptional. Thank you for your christian attitude, patience and family centered living environment.
Staff was great!
Wow!! Living at Treyton Oak Towers has been an amazing experience. The staff is super friendly. Every staff member seems to know every resident by name. The food is outstanding with a great variety of offerings beginning with a combination hot and continental breakfast followed by lunch and dinner offerings with at least 3 entrees and multiple sides and desserts at each setting. Housekeeping has been wonderful. Today at least 95% of the staff and residents were vaccinated for Covid 19. To me that demonstrates how much the Staff and management care about those of us who live here.
When I first took my mom to Treyton Oak I was very emotional [name removed] at the desk said to me don’t worry it’ll be fine , And it was.. Everyone from administration to nursing to nursing aides were wonderful to us they treated us like family.. I’m so glad that God lead us to Treyton Oak Towers we couldn’t find a more perfect place for mom.. God bless you all
A beautiful place with caring staff. I highly recommend Treyton Oak Towers if you are looking for a 5 star retirement community.
Treyton Oak Towers is one of my favorite places in the world. The staff is unwavering in their kindness, both to residents and visitors. They hold unique events that bring the residents together, and the community alike. I would not hesitate to feel confident in their care, patience, and kindness (also bingo is a great time)!
I was fortunate enough to have my mother reside at Treyton Oak Towers for several years. She resided in Personal Care as well as Skilled Nursing until she passed away. The love, care and compassion she and our family received cannot be conveyed via this post. You have to experience it to understand. I highly recommend this community and it's loving staff.
The food is wonderful, looks great and taste great. I love it here we are one big family residents and staff. I would not be anywhere else!!! Hero's work and live at Treyton Oak Towers.
Staff puts themselves out to make Treyton Oak Towers feel like home for their residents!
Friendly professional caring place for senior retirees with a large variety of activities and amenities.
Treyton Oak Towers was too large. It might be a little bit more complicated for my mom to get around, but I loved it. If I retire, that's the place I'm going. I liked it because they have excellent entertainment activities, I loved the views from there, the room size looked nice, and the staff was really nice. It's accessible to the downtown area, and if you want to get out and catch the bus, you can. They have bingo, an amphitheater if you want to play instruments, they have kids from local schools come in to do concerts, a woodworking area, art room, a nursery on the 11th floor, and an area on the 12th floor where you can sit outside and have a drink. You can see the downtown area and the University of Louisville stadium. I like how they separated independent living from the people who needed additional care. They're not able to come off their floors because they're restricted. The staff was wonderful and did an excellent job showing us around. The dining area was nicely setup, and if they want to bring people over and have a little private birthday party, they can do that.
Treyton Oak Towers are well managed, clean, well decorated and cozy. The security is good and the staff is helpful.
My mom was there for a couple weeks. Their staff are terrific. They took good care of her. Anytime there was a problem they either called me or talked to me when I was there about it.
The best, Best, BEST experience! My husband recently had a spinal cord injury when a tree fell on his head, breaking his neck. We needed a place close to Frazier where he attends daily therapy and also the support of having cleaning, cooking and everything else (one doesn't need on their list when caring 24/7 for someone) done. Treyton Oak Towers is that place! 100% satisfied. It's not just everything you need but everything you need is delivered with just love from the heart. People here are extraordinarily happy. We're wondering how we got so lucky. Thank you to everyone here for making our recovery from a terrible tragedy into a happy time of life!
Nice caring staff and many smart elderly folks to hang out with.
A beautiful set of homes and facilities with a caring staff and fun residents. Everyone here is committed to making each day feel more like a resort vacation that includes top-notch arts and entertainment concerts and activities!
I stayed at Treyton Oak Towers about August 13th- Sept 3rd, 2nd floor.. Although in pain from my knee replacement. I enjoyed my stay. From Phyllis at the nurses Station, to LPN Sara, to Physical Therapist, to cna Ms G to Patrice in Housekeeping. I was treated very kind & professional.. Food was great also, my room kept clean. Thank you all so very much.. 🙏Ms Camille Gore
Some of the Professional Staff turned put to be not so PROFESSIONAL AT ALL I LATER!...
My 92 year old mother spent the last six months of her life at Treyton Oaks. I cannot say enough good things about this facility. It is clean, beautifully decorated, and the second floor nursing staff was like family. Mike, Kathy, Tiffany, and Miss Phyllis we're wonderful!Mom passed away Christmas Eve 2018 in hospice. Thank you TOT staff for taking such good care of her. 💖
Poor attitude of the aids, rude and lacking any training you push the button and wait for an hour for anyone to come see what you might need. Then they ask what is the problem now. The majority of the nurses are good and compassionate. The food sucks. No way around it, it is not any good, none of it. The building is very nice but some of the employees need to learn how to deal with people. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Not happy with attitudes. If they are working in this field they should be here for the love of it not just a paycheck.
My Mother and I got a really good vibe from this facility. She really loved it here and we know we made the right decision. This is a cat-friendly place and all of the residents are fairly nice. For activities, they have things like exercise classes, once a week they have a pool trip, and they are very involved with artsy things. My mom is on the 10th floor and she has a beautiful view of the cityscape. Unfortunately, she had a stroke recently but the staff members were very quick in getting her to the hospital and more than likely saved her life. I would definitely recommend this facility to other families.
Treyton Oak Towers would have been the second option. The rooms were very spacious and well laid-out. We went there a couple of times, and the staff was very knowledgeable but not so friendly. We were never invited to taste the food.
It was a god experience to go through A Place For Mom, they were very supportive. The community has been a good fit for my father and we are happy with the way that things are going so far with his stay.
work place
They treat their only real good this is where my grandma was
Went to visit a friend. Staff friendly. Dining room nice. Easy access.
Very nice place for retired folks. Unfortunate location, but the building and staff are great!
Actually my mother picked Treyton Oak for herself because it has so many different levels of care. You don't have to move from the building to another facility. From independent living, you can have personal care which is a little bit different to assisted living but similar. You can also have nursing home care. So with it having so many levels of care, it was really a much smoother transition for her. She could have two meals a day in the dining room. They have a lot of activities available to them. They have transportation if they need to go to the grocery store twice a week. They can get transportation to some of the arts in town if they like to go to the orchestral concert or to the theater. She thought it was the best place for her needs. The staffs are very friendly and caring. Once in a while, one particular person tends to offer more than he is capable of delivering, but there are enough other people there to fill in the gaps that it's never been a problem.
My Mother moved in this past July. She loves it. Residents have independence yet also have a wonderful sense of security. The staff is kind and compassionate, from the office to the wait staff! I would recommend Treyton Oakes .Although pricey you do get wonderful ameneties.
We’ve had very complaints. We’ve been very pleased. All the services they offer are excellent, but the reaction time has been a little slow sometimes. They try really hard to make the resident feel like they are a personal part of the facility. The food is excellent.
