Reviews
for Village Crossing Retirement Community
The place is poorly managed. People are treated a cattle. Don’t use the Lighter hearts care company.
After touring 4 other well-reviewed facilities in our area, we found Village Crossing. We found it to be a new, modern facility with amenities we were looking for with an open, bright layout. Common areas centrally located with plenty of well-planned activities to choose from—fitness center, theater, salon, as well as an on-site service for extra assistance for those needing help with medicine, meals or mobility. Transportation for those no longer driving is available, as well as medical professionals coming to the facility on a regular basis. Weekly housekeeping; excellent dining options 3 times a day, both in a bright, airy dining area or delivered to apartment; outdoor landscaping is well maintained and welcoming; and staff friendly and engaged with residents who shared positive stories with us. Location is central to many medical, financial and commercial businesses that meet our needs. It meets most if not all of our needs, including allowing our pet to come with us.
Great choice was made to move in. Nice residents, good food, very clean, lots of engagement if you want it. Everyone is super friendly and always polite. They just got new managers 1 bedroom apartments are great size. The studios feel small.
I have been working at Village Crossing for 5 years and love it here. One of the best jobs I have ever had. The managers are very involved with our residents and staff. The community is spotless and well maintained. The residents are amazing. I highly recommend this community to any senior citizen.
I went to tour Village Crossing. It was a wonderful visit. We truly enjoyed the young lady who gave our tour. We loved everything about it, but it's out of my income bracket. The facilities were outstanding. I was really quite impressed because I did not expect this. In the apartment they have full kitchen like a full-sized refrigerator and a full stove. I was just totally impressed because I was not expecting full service. As far as the facility itself, that was the most impressive thing for what I would be able to utilize, and that I would not have to be restricted to the menu and the meals that they have. But what they had today was great. We enjoyed the lunch that we had there. They also have a full-sized washer and dryer. The staff member who gave the tour was very accommodating. The person who I met with initially was just standing in for the person that I had the appointment with, but they both were very friendly. The staff member took me through the whole facility to show me everything that they had to offer. And my son said it was like being on a cruise ship. Everything was really nice. We thoroughly both enjoyed it. And they have so many things to do there. I was just really blown away.
This was a great place. It just wasn't a great place for us
The staff at Village Crossing Retirement Resort are friendly. The housekeeping is marginal / barely adequate. Communication with the family is good. The mover was reasonable, they recommended. The meals are better than average. Overall, Village Crossing Retirement Resort is a decent place to live at.
I love Village Crossing! The team here helped make my mom’s move smooth, easy, and seamless. What seemed like a major transition for her was very easy thanks to the staff and all the community members. Everyone was very warm, welcoming, and helpful during the first few months and continue to be ten months later. The food is delicious, the activities are fun, the outings are great...my mom participates in everything and loves it. I visit her at all hours of the day and night and absolutely love being here and love having her in such a wonderful independent environment. From a financial standpoint it is truly all-inclusive. You don’t need to worry about extra charges, extra fees, or anything other than the flat rate for your apartment. Room service, housekeeping, utilities, activities, outings, transportation, happy hour, entertainment, 24-hour snacks…everything is included in the fixed price. My only regret is not moving her in sooner, her happiness and quality of life at Village Crossing has exceeded all of our expectations.
We visited this community one week ago and felt so welcomed by both the staff and residents. Residents are treated with respect and cared for like they are family. It warms my heart! This is the place for mom. Thank you Village Crossing!
There are not enough great things to say about Village Crossing. I moved my mother in there back in March and she has been absolutely thriving - far and away the happiest I've seen her in years! It is without a doubt the most neat, organized, and well-run facility I've seen and the managers, staff, and residents create a friendly and hospitable environment for anyone fortunate enough to stay there.
We the managers of Village Crossing have enjoyed being here in Louisville for over two and half years and have been fortunate to see our community double in the size of its residency. We love interacting with the residents and are fulfilled when they refer to Village Crossing as there home.
Village Crossing Retirement Community is a true haven for seniors seeking a vibrant and caring environment. The staff and managers go above and beyond to make this place exceptional. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine concern for the residents' well-being. The dedication and kindness of the staff are truly outstanding. They create a sense of community, ensuring that every resident is not just a name but a cherished member of an extended family. The managers exhibit strong leadership, making sure that the community runs smoothly and efficiently. From the delightful activities and events to the nutritious and delicious meals, Village Crossing offers a top-tier retirement experience. The staff's attention to detail and commitment to residents' happiness is commendable. It's not just a retirement community; it's a place filled with love, care, and a strong sense of belonging. I can't recommend it highly enough for those in their golden years looking for a wonderful place to call home.
I want to express how amazing this place is! The diligent managers go above and beyond to ensure that the residents are happy and well taken care of. Their active participation in various community events is commendable and adds to the overall experience. Residents love and appreciate the activities management organizes. This place is not just a residence, but a remarkable and nurturing community that exceeds all expectations.
What a beautiful place, warm and inviting, with good neighbors to make Great Memories
I’m very happy with Village Crossing! I feel comforted and pleased that my parents are in good hands at such a great retirement facility. The staff is comforting and professional. I’d like to say a very special thank you especially to Laurie and Glen for showing such wonderful hospitality to my parents as they transition.
Village Crossing is the BEST community in Louisville. With their all-inclusive lifestyle and amenities, it makes our residents' lives so much easier and enjoyable. Gorgeous, spacious apartments, delicious meals that are available 3x/day, all utilities and some of the best Housekeepers around!! Having on-site live in Managers makes a HUGE difference for our residents & their loved ones - they have peace of mind knowing they are safe. They also have a 24/7 on-site Homecare Team that is amazing and takes such great care of their residents, so that they can reside & thrive in their same apartment. There is always something fun happening, whether it is Beach Ball Volleyball, Happy Hour with LIVE music, Community Sing-a-long, and movies in their huge theater. What an awesome place to live!!
Visiting my aunt here is always a pleasant experience. Facility is so clean and the staff is super friendly, but my aunt is really happy living here — which is all that matters.
Village Crossing is a beautiful Community! When you walk through the doors you are greeted by a host of wonderful folks. We absolutely love that they have live in Managers and onsite home care!! This is the best place in Louisville for seniors!!
Great place for my parents. Everything is so accessible and available. They have a home theater, bank, dinning room, activities and even an ice cream machine. Building is beautiful and well cared for. I wish I was old enough to move in!
This is a great community! The managers go above and beyond to make sure the residents are well cared for and happy. They even participate in events. My parents love when they play chair volley ball! Its a great home!
Amazing community, lovely people and managers. This is like a resort with everything you need inside to hair salon, movie theater, 5 star dining. Such a lovely community and a beautiful place.well maintained.
I toured this community and it was my second favorite. It's an impressive facility and I think my loved one would have been happy here, also.
Village Crossing was very impressive. It's a very lively place. There were lots of opportunities. I liked that for people with pets there were first floor rooms with exterior access, so that was very impressive to me. There's a lot of people doing things and very active in the restaurant. I know they have an opportunity to bring a washer-dryer and have those installed. There's just a stovetop, an oven, and a refrigerator in the apartment. The staff was very positive, very engaged, and very knowledgeable. The dining area was a restaurant type.
We went to see my dad's close friend, who is an incredibly lovely woman. Her home is amazing; it has a wonderful atmosphere and a staff that is very professional. Although we would prefer to let him stay at [removed], my dad was also encouraged to relocate here. e have heard great things about this location.
I toured Village Crossing and I liked their restaurant, the cleanliness of the place, the size of the rooms, the convenience of the place from where I live, and the amenities. The staff was very well trained, answered all my questions, and took a personal interest in my needs. The apartments were spacious, modern, and brand new. Their dining area was beautiful with a wide selection of food. The staff asks you what you want off the menu and they go to the hot table and prepare the plate for you. I met some of the residents that were playing dice games and a sit-down volleyball game. It's a nice place. It's not assisted living, but there is an assisted living company that's based on their second floor. So, you can get any help you want, a la carte. Their meals have room service, they have a full kitchen, and it's a 759 square feet apartment. In the bathroom, there's a space for a full washer and dryer. If you don't bring one, they'll supply one free of charge, and if you don't want to do that, there's a washer and dryers down the hall.
I chose Lake Forest Village because of all of the things above that are 5's. I looked at others and none of them even compared. Everything is all inclusive here, there are no extra charges for anything. The food is amazing, I would give it a 6 out of 5. I would recommend them to others looking.
Lake Forest Village Retirement Resort was definitely a cleaner place. They're not doing any construction and they have a lot more amenities. People can do dancing or singing, and their theater was bigger, and had a lot more seating. It's a little more expensive too, but everything was perfect. The lady who gave the tour was very good and knowledgeable. She was even excited to show us around. She had a lot of good things to say and did excellent. They actually offered us that for any event coming up, we would be invited to come join them to experience a little bit of their food. They have a nice little theater where they can show movies, do stage plays, or hold church services, then conversation rooms, and arts and crafts rooms. I saw a two-bedroom with a master bath and it was big. It looked really good.
We thought Lake Forest Village Retirement Community was nice. I liked it. We saw quite a few people there, and everybody was really nice. It was a good experience. We got the information we needed, and we've already contacted them. We saw all the rooms. The outside of it is the only place where there wasn't much going on. There were streets on every side, and if you look out the window, you can see the cars. If I was on my back porch, I would want more privacy, and I told the staff that. I know they have plays, they do shows there, they have a happy hour, and they have open meals anytime. It seemed like they had a lot of stuff.
Lake Forest Village Retirement Community is very clean, friendly, has a lot of amenities, it's very accessible for all levels of needs and affordable too. The staff is very friendly, caring and helpful. My mom has a 1-bedroom with a full kitchen and a washer and dryer in her room. So far, she's been very happy with the food, its selection, and the quality. She's extremely happy there. They have daily movies in their theater, bingo, and cards. They have a happy hour, a kind of a social hour before dinner. They're not doing any outing yet because of COVID but I know they'd offer that again eventually.
My father has moved into Lake Forest Village. The food is very good. It is very affordable. The apartments are very nice. They have been very accommodating. The place is very nice and clean. It has everything that a senior would need. Everyone has been very nice and very helpful. They were more than willing to go out of their way to help us. One of the reasons why we picked this place is that they have a lot of activities for the members to do within the facility. They take them to a lot of places to do stuff (probably when Covid is over) to get outside. One of the definite selling points is that it is easy access. They have a lot of handrails, and they have a lot of elevators, which always help senior people who have a little bit of mobility issue.
I visited my good friend , this amazing lovely woman Clara Glasper , this place is amazing she’s in good hands with very professional staff and a wonderful atmosphere.. GOD BLESS HER ,and the people that work at this facility ..
My wife and I have lived here at the Lake Forest Retirement Village since March and have enjoyed every minute. It somewhat resembles being on a long cruise. Every thing is done for you, no food to buy or cook, no bills to pay or home owners insurance to buy. They even get you car out of the garage and bring it to the front door and put it away when you return. If you want independent living this is the place for you.
