Unspecified · February 2024 My loved one was at Windsor Gardens Bardstown. They were fine. The assisted living side was very nice. They have their own apartment. It's older so it was not as nice and the food wasn't that tasty. They had different music groups come in. They had bingo, painting, and exercises.
Windsor Gardens of Bardstown was very clean and they seemed to be staffed pretty well. I didn't see very many of the memory care patients. I did see the activity room. It looked like they had a lot of activities that they can do. They seemed to be well staffed. The rooms were not that big and they did have some rooms that had two patients to a room, but it seemed to be overall clean. I saw the cafeteria where they could eat if they wanted to, and then they could eat in their room if they wanted to. I wasn't there at the time the food was being served, but it seemed neat and clean. They had a salon and someone comes in to do their hair and their nails.
My father moved into Windsor Gardens of Bardstown before he passed. It wasn't very good. They didn't make sure that he took his medicines. They didn't keep his room clean. It wasn't a good experience at all. They would come in and tell him that it was time to take his medicine, but they didn't make sure that he did it. They'd be found on the floor or wherever. They weren't supposed to give the medicines, but they were supposed to watch him take them, and they didn't. The facilities were nice, but his unit was not kept clean. He was not a good fit for that facility.
Unspecified · September 2021 Everything in Windsor Gardens of Bardstown was easy to get through. The layout of the building was very nice. It was made for easy access. I also liked the fact that they encourage healthy habits. They offer meals in your room, but it's for an extra $5 every time they have to deliver a meal. That's because they want the residents to get out, come down, and be social. They have a restaurant-style dining hall where you come in, sit down, and order. So, it's not like a buffet where you have to walk through, get your food, and take it back to your table or anything. I like the staff too. They seemed to care about what was going on and it wasn't just a job.
They had studios, one-bedrooms, two-bedrooms, and most of them have outside entrances. In other words, they've got like patio doors where you'll have your own little sitting area outside the room. You can use that as an exterior exit so that when your friends and family come to visit, they don't have to come through the front door and then back to your room.
Unspecified · September 2021 The people are all nice here at Windsor Gardens. It's nice and clean. I really like it. We have a lot of activities here. They have bingo, crafts, and classes. You name it, they got it. The staff is great and very accommodating. The food is delicious. I don't find anything wrong with the place. My room is excellent. I have a living room, a kitchenette, a bedroom, and a bathroom. It's worth the price. It's excellent.

Well worth the money
I was very impressed by the medical staffing here and I had a very good tour everything looked nice and clean. They answered all of my questions and I am definitely going to use them for my husband's next respite stay as I feel that they would be able to monitor his meds the way I would.
Acquaintance · February 2017 Care and attention is paid to specific needs of my father.
The staff is very helpful at Windsor Gardens. The dining area is very lovely, and the food is OK. My parents have a very roomy two-bedroom apartment. They have bingo, crafts, and people that come and play music. They also have a beauty shop.
Windsor Gardens was close to everything like church and schools. We stayed at the facility and ate the food. We were pretty satisfied with it. The people were very nice. They had activities like bingo and other different games.
We were in the assisted living, but they were great as far as keeping the place clean, the meals, and all that. My loved one was only there a short time. There is enough parking. They were just really good to work with.
Unspecified · September 2012 This facility is environmentally clean, the staff is caring, each and every person who lives at this facility appears secure and content. There are lots of activities and family members appear to visit often.
I had to do a project interviewing someone over 65 for school and randomly called the facility to see if they could help me. The employees of the facility were very nice and introduced me to a resident to interview. Every time I visited the facility it was always clean and tidy. The food was pretty good, but it was kind of bland because they didn't use a whole lot of seasonings. The resident told me it was because not everyone could have them. The apartments people lived in were pretty nice. Some of them faced the courtyard in the middle of the building so they had kind of a back porch. The facility also had a memory care unit and a long term care unit so if something happened to a resident in the assisted living part they could just move to one of the other units. It made it easier for the families. They also offered a lot of different activities throughout the day; if someone needed physical or occupational therapy that was also offered.
While visiting this particular facility,I was unsure what to think. To start things off the facility is very clean, and well kept. The staff are friendly, well trained as well as knowledgeable about what to do if there is ever an issue with one of the patients. There is a lot that this place offers to its residents. They have classes on how to prevent falling, exercise programs and daily meals. The residents also have assistance with their medication (if they were to need it). They offer places for people with physical impairments as well as having assistance with their day to day activities. After visiting the facility I am quite impressed with all that is offered, and I am confident that they will take good care of all the residents that stay there.
