Reviews
for Windsor Gardens Senior Living
I love the place & so does [name removed]The workers made to point to make him feel good. They were friendly & he liked that. It took a week or more for him to adjust that I would be back. I still tell him by and I'll be back. You can tell that he likes them all. The food is good and he takes his meds for them.
First of all [name removed] is an absolute angel, no matter the problem she always has time to talk to you. The ladies in memory Care are wonderful, it takes really special people to that kind of job and they all seem to have their heart in it. The has a very homy and welcoming environment. I would recommend this place very highly.
My aunt passed away in [date removed] but she loved Windsor while she was there. They went above and beyond for my aunt. I would absolutely recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far! I want to move there when the time comes
We are looking at only being able to keep Mom there for the rest of this year. The care is amazing!! The staff is Great! Everything else is wonderful! The only problem is the cost keeps going up. It started out at $3,800 and is now $4,937.
I would not recommend Windsor Gardens to anyone. It was a horrible experience.
The price at Windsor Gardens was better than most of them. I liked the staff that I met, the director and the director of memory care. Everyone seemed to be very knowledgeable and very willing to assist in any way that they could. The facility was all good. The rooms were good size. It was big enough for a full-size bed. I liked the fact that they had a separate entrance, which was close to where the memory unit was. The facility itself was clean and well-kept.
It was less expensive, small bedroom but lots of room to walk with a walker. The staff was very attentive. For memory care I definitely recommend it. I don't have any experience with the Windsor. My mother was in their memory care unit.
I am very satisfied with Windsor Garden for my mother. The staff are so pleasant and her one bedroom fits her needs perfectly. The PT and OT have been wonderful at helping her become stronger and independent. Carol M.
My loved one is currently a resident at Windsor Gardens of Georgetown and everything has been absolutely great for her so far at this facility. The staff and care services are great! The cleanliness, friendliness, activities and meals are also great. I definitely think the value for cost is great as well, compared to a lot of other facilities. I would recommend Windsor Gardens of Georgetown to others.
It is an amazing place where everyone cares and is kind...They are very knowledgeable and know what each of their residents are going through.
We toured Windsor Gardens. We love the facilities; they were very nice. We have been familiar with it for several years. It was now very well-lighted when before it was dark. They changed that. Everything is much brighter and lighter in there. The rooms were nice. We were looking for a 1-bedroom and one with its own heating and cooling unit in the room so you can control your own temperature in your room. We like some of the activities; they offer lots of activities. My wife was in that kind of stuff. They also have a bus that takes you to local appointments. We have several of those here in Georgetown and we have a few in Lexington. Overall, we were very pleased with it. We liked the people that were there, and we liked the guy that was running it. I think he is a minister. He was very nice and very helpful. And the people were very friendly. We had people walking up to us, speaking to us saying hello, and so forth, and we weren't expecting that. It's a very friendly community, so we were very, very satisfied with it. It's a little bit more expensive than some of those we looked at but was also cheaper than some. So, it's close to being our ballpark. The room would have been completely redecorated and redone because they were working on it. Somebody had moved out and they redo the rooms completely when they move out. They were putting in new carpeting, new paint, and redoing everything in the apartment. The staff were nice. They went out of their way to accommodate us and show us the place. They had a good meal service and a good game area and so forth. They have activities set up by an activities director. The place wasn't that old. My mother lived there, so it hasn't been more than about ten years or so. And then they've redone a lot and refurbished a lot since then, so it's almost all new again. So, the building itself is more attractive.
I visited the Windsor Gardens and it was above excellent. They had so much staff and many activities for the elder people, and lots of food. It was just a great place, the best place I've been to. The units were clean and so very nice, everything was in excellent condition. The staff was so very friendly and kind, they help with everything. I haven't tried their food but it smelled good. The residents had coloring going on when I was there, they were going on little walks, and had staff and nurses with them.
I am very pleased. They are taking very good care of my mother. I would have to say it's a wonderful little town, good churches, shopping, good schools. Been very happy here for 30 plus years
We looked at other facilities and Windsor Gardens of Georgetown was just the best. We love the staff! They are very attentive and friendly. The facility overall is just fantastic. My dad has loved it here from day 1.
The sales lady who was giving us the tour was nice but she seemed inexperienced. It was not her fault, I just think she needed some more training.
I thought that the staff at Windsor Gardens was very warm and caring. It was darker though. I had the feeling of being in a basement, even though I wasn't. It's an older building. The residents were more in their rooms than engaged in activities, but it could've just been the time of day I was there. The thing that made me hesitant about there was the shower had a six-inch step-in, and my dad is not able to do that. He needs a flush shower. It's not like a bathtub, but there was like a six-inch lip on the showers. You have to be able to pick your feet up to get into the showers in the memory unit. I don't know what the rest of it is. It was a little quiet. All the residents were in their rooms. Nobody was doing any activities. It was a little dark, and there were not a lot of windows to look out of, but they had access to an outside area, and they could go if they want. There's not as many windows, but the rooms were nice, and the staff was lovely. The people that I talked to were very caring. I just like seeing a lot of sunshine, and I thought it was kind of dark. If my dad had to go there, I would be comfortable with his care, but I think he would prefer something more sunny and bright.
My mother lived the last few years of her life at Windsor Gardens and loved every minute of it. I'm so happy that she was able to finish her life there, and so was she.
Windsor Gardens had a homelike setting and their staff was very informative during the tour. The closets were huge and the living area was very adequate. I saw the residents eating their lunch meal and they seemed very engaged and active.
Based on our tour, we liked it here. The location was good. It was just a timing issue. They had no openings at the time when we were ready to move. We have another relative who lives here and has done well here. The building is not quite as new as where we ended up, but still nice.
I went to Windsor Gardens. It's an older place, she took me into a room that was occupied, the resident was really nice, but the carpet was old, and it didn't even look clean. That turned me off completely. The staff was good. I saw the dining room, but they were doing some construction so I didn't get to see everything. After I saw the room and the carpet, I decided it was not for my mom. I caught the staff off guard, she accommodated me, but she couldn't stay with me very long.
What a wonderful facility to care for my loved one, I am so grateful for the care, personnel, and attention that is given. Happy loving staff that truly care. Highly recommend
We chose Windsor Gardens for my mother based on the price and location to our home residence. She will move in a couple of weeks. We really love the staff members. They were really engaging. The main nurse that runs the place was very kind. She toured us around herself. We were able to meet the activities director who seemed very engaged. They showed us a list of activities that my mother was very excited about. I think for a slow-paced person that is looking for a homey, close-knit feel, Windsor Gardens is an optimal place. They have an activity room, but it is more of a slower paced assisted living. There is a studio and a 1-bedroom. We chose a studio, and it was plenty big based on her needs. The people that we got to talk to and the people we interacted with were very sincere and very engaging.
Nice place but poorly run at times. Medicine goes missing there is no accountability, the workers go in these peoples private room 2 or 3 at a time which is unnecessary. They don't initial and date when meds given which should be done bc so many different people do it everyday. The food is cold and sometimes inedible. For the price these people pay they should get 5 star service they get 2 star. Please check around for a suitable place to put your loved one. Would i recommend this place yes if u ok with whatever care.
My family, including my mother are all so grateful for Windsor Gardens. Mom moved in [date removed]. The staff at Windsor helped her shower, washed her laundry, made sure she took her meds on time, checked on her constantly. And openly wept when she passed away [date removed]. I don’t know what I would have done without Windsor. Mom was treated respectfully and she loved all the staff. I can’t say enough great things about Windsor Gardens in Georgetown. Thank you for helping me find the perfect place for Mom.
The staff were unaware of my tour appointment they graciously ahowed me around and spent time explaining the services, amenities, and price structure. Itwas a little less organized. I detected some faint odor inside a room. Otherwise it seemed reasonably clean.
Very caring and helpful.
My daughter chose Windsor Gardens for me, so I could be closer to her. I am very pleased with the staff here; they are very courteous and helpful. The food is OK. The facility is very clean and well maintained. My bedroom is spacious and very clean and has an enclosed porch that is really convenient for me.
Things are going good. Everything is just going splendid. I think the only complaint I have ever gotten was a comment one time on the cornbread. We are pretty happy with them so far, the staff is friendly, it's clean, no complaints here.
We are very pleased with her care. It's spotless, and it doesn't smell, they were the only place we saw that didn't smell. The staff is good, and very friendly. The food is fine, even if she complains. I could tell it was a hands on caring facility, and among other things, it's why we chose them.
Windsor Gardens is a very nice facility. Its immaculate cleanliness stands out. The staff was above and beyond - wonderful, friendly and helpful. As residents move out, they replace the carpet and paint the walls. Everything is brand new. But, there's a non refundable deposit of $1000. They have a big activity board that has lots of calendar and activities for the month.
My dad has already selected Windsor Gardens and he is going to move in on Saturday. I have come across it first online when I was looking for places in Georgetown because that's where he lives. The staff was very welcoming and very friendly. The residents too were very friendly. They had nothing to say but good things about the staff. The apartment we saw was a one-bedroom apartment that has a living area with a kitchenette. It also has a huge closet. My dad tried their food and he said it was good. At the time our visit, there was no activity underway but they do have activities. They have a new person that is doing that.
Best one so far, liked tour & mom likes too.
It was very nice, but the living room area was extremely small. My mom didn't like it and she felt confined. There was no kitchen, no little refrigerator, or little snack area or a place if she wanted to have cereal in her room. However, everything else looked nice, smelled good and did not smell like a nursing home. The people were friendly. They have cafeteria that they had just built on the wing that we had looked at. It was very nice, very attractive, and even has a pool. She loved the closet area, bedroom, and bathroom. Very aesthetic, there were pictures in the hallway and carpet looks new. Everything looks good, except the living area was small.
I could not have asked for a better answer to our situation. Windsor is 2-3 minutes from our home and there have been no problems, none! My husband is being taken care of as though he were a King! Any thing he desires is provided. Every staff member is kind, knowledgable and willing to do whatever it takes to keep their residents safe and happy. Everyone there also attends to all of the family members of their residents.
i visited this facility and it was nasty, the food was gross(cold). This is how i would say that the attitudes of the facility employees, cold and seemed to be uncaring. They were no where to be found half of the time. Try to call there never get an answer, leave a message but nobody calls you back, would not let my family member stay there....
After just staying two months in this facility, we moved my mother out. Food was often cold and the staff did not seem to care at all. She is now in Sayre Christian Village in Lexington where she gets great care. Glad we switched places.
