Staff is wonderful kind very caring. Cleanliness and my after was able to bring his small dog.

Acquaintance · May 2025

The facility is top-notch and cream of the crop. I didn't appreciate it, as it was my first experience, but since my Mom was moved to a Medicade assisted facility, I have to say, Charter was amazing. The staff is incredible. . It's also very welcoming, charming, and cleaner than any place I've ever seen. [name removed] is the main attraction there, and he is like family still. The downside was the expense, but it is clear why now. Comparing facilities now, I'm in horror at what is considered standard in the industry. I was ashamed when I saw the conditions of her new place.

Acquaintance · April 2025

My Aunt was in this facility years ago and loved it. They are very friendly and you can go to them anytime night or day if you have questions.

Acquaintance · March 2025

5 on all of them except for #6 Food. They need to work on the food. Charter takes good care of their people. My mother in law absolutely loves it there! They don't need to worry about their family member. They take really great care of their people. My mother in law fell yesterday and they called us while getting an ambulance to take her to the ER. Even after the doctors decided to keep her overnight, Charter has been calling to check on her care. She's in great hands. I hope Charter is around when I'm older.

Although my mom’s time was brief there, My mom absolutely loved her decision to move into Charter Senior Living and would say she wished she had moved sooner. From the moment she walked in the door she felt at home. The staff and the residents made her instantly feel apart of their family/community. Mom looked forward to the daily activities and loved the food!! Everyone at Charter was so caring and compassionate to our family, during what was a difficult time for us. I would highly recommend Charter Senior Living for any loved one.

We moved my mother to Charter 18 months ago and it has been a wonderful assisted living facility. The process to get her set up there was simple and she made friends immediately. The staff is attentive and friendly, the services to choose from were exactly what we needed to make her retired years comfortable and active. I highly recommend booking a tour and seeing all they have to offer if you are looking in Bowling Green!

Everything about this experience was amazing. The absolute best place for your love one

Acquaintance · November 2024

I would give all a 5 We really hated to move dad but his level of care needs increased. He misses that place and mentions (frequently) that he wants to go back there.

Charter Senior Living of Bowling Green was a very nice facility. I was very favorably impressed. I would probably go with them if they had available space. They were interactive with the residents. I would be looking for something like that for my wife. The rooms were very nice, roomy, up-to-date and clean. They offered me a pie, but I don't do pies. I kind of like the hub layout a little better, but as far as the rooms and everything like that, they're still very good. The staff was very open, very easy to talk to and very caring.

We had a great tour at Charter Senior Living of Bowling Green. It was wonderful. There were some people that my friend knew that lived there, so that's a plus. What I liked the most was that everyone was very friendly, laid-back, and caring. They called and asked questions about my friend regarding his likes and dislikes, so they could show him those things. When we went on the tour, they did show things that he would be interested in and just invited him back and tried it out for a little bit before he decided, especially in the winter months. He said he might do that so that would be good. It was clean and well-kept. The residents were happy and welcomed my friend and hoped that he would come back. It's a nice place. The staff was very friendly. The dining staff came out and said hello and explained a few things. They were doing an activity with the activity person and she kept the activity going and talked to my friend for a little bit. They're all very friendly. It's very clean. I love the structure. I love that they encourage everyone to decorate and have things the way they would like to have it. For sure, in their little courtyard that they have, the residents have their own space of yard, like one lady had a gazebo in her little grassy area. Another person had a little fenced-in area for her little dog. It just encourages people to have their own personality there for sure. The layout looked fantastic. I came home to my husband and I said, "OK, this is where we're going to go." The size of the room was adequate. It's a very relaxed atmosphere, very comfortable and welcoming.

Charter and its wonderful staff took exceptional care of my aunt for three years and I can't say enough good things about the care she received. Even after, when nursing home care was required, the staff kept tabs on her, visited her, and kept in touch with family. The staff is full of good people who are always kind and always helpful. The facilities aren't flashy, but the care is what people need. I recommend without reservation.

Our family member has been living at Charter since the beginning of this year and we couldn't be happier. He is constantly bragging about the facility as well as the resident community. He's made a lot of friends and enjoys spending time with them. The past couple of days have been a little difficult for him, but the staff has been so helpful and caring. Today, when he was unable to go to the dining room, they brought lunch to him and checked in on him. It meant so much to us that a staff member phoned us a few minutes ago to ask about him as his friends were missing him. I explained what was happening and was told that they will make sure that he has everything he needs and will check in on him. The staff and residents at Charter are a truly wonderful part of our family!!!!

My aunt was in assisted living at Charter Senior Living of Bowling Green. They were very efficient. They were very good about offering help. She had dementia and it got bad toward the end. They were very patient with her. They did what they were supposed to do. They took care of her when she needed, like help with her shower. Toward the end, she did need help with more care than she did when she first moved there. The grounds around the facility were well kept. They provided some delicious food. The meals were restaurant quality. I had lunch with her several times. It was kept well and always neat and clean. The lawn was trimmed. I never got to take part in or I was never there when they did, but I know they did offer different programs. She got what she paid for. The atmosphere was very upbeat. Everyone was friendly. The people that worked there were friendly, always ready to give you an answer to your question. I had no problem with them at all. They were great.

Acquaintance · June 2024

Charter has many nice staff. I think most of them care about the residents but the building is old and needs lots of updates and cleaning up. It's a great place if you can stay in Independent Living or even Assisted Living if no dementia. My biggest complaint is not encouraging showers or knowing how to redirect behavior instead of always calling family.

Visiting with friends and helping others at Charter has been a positive experience staff are engaging and supportive of individuals, living and their environment and facility

[name removed] really lives it at Charter. She has lots of Friends and this is her first time living on her own. She is thriving. [name removed] can't stand or walk without a walker. She has fall a few times and they have a necklace to wear with a button that calls the staff. All have been so kind. The Facility has a nice dining room and variety of Menu items. They have helped her change clothes and diapers when needed. They are all sweet and tell [name removed] they are there to help. [name removed] apologizes to them. [name removed] and [name removed] have been helpful and kind too. Anything we need we just call [name removed]. Mostly the folks that live there made us feel welcome and help make our decision on putting our loved one there.

Acquaintance · March 2024

The staff has been very kind and helpful to us and our Dad.They stay in touch with us and visit with us when are there. We couldn’t ask for anyone to do anything better. I realize that Dad had rather be at home but that isn’t possible. I wish that he would participate in some of the many activities that they offer. I think he would be better satisfied if he would but everybody is doing an amazing job

Unspecified · March 2024

Don and Tracy are absolutely outstanding! It’s a pleasure to have them as a community partner on a professional level to help transition individuals to an ALF setting. I recently completed a tour at the facility. Everyone was so happy and welcoming! The atmosphere was one of a kind. You could truly tell the individuals who live in the community are happy to be there. Such a great experience. Also, the food was delicious! And they have a pool! Highly recommend!

Acquaintance · March 2024

Most of the staff were good, some not so good. Housekeeping was not so good. Communication was just okay. Meals weren't good at all. Moving in and moving out was good, laundry service was awful. They lost so much of my mother's clothes and when you told them it was like no concern of theirs. A few of the ladies were just loving and great. Overall, I wouldn't recommend.

Unspecified · March 2024

it's like everyone there is one big family. very clean, food is good and they have lots of fun stuff to do.

Unspecified · March 2024

Inconsistent. The perfect word to describe their internet.

I'm considering Charter Senior Living of Bowling Green for my dad. I felt like he felt comfortable there. It's an assisted, studio apartment. My understanding is, they'll help him shave, or put his hearing aids in, and wash his clothes and his bed linen. The staff is very accommodating, I was very pleased with the people I met there. The building is a little older than some of the other ones, but it's adequate, a small refrigerator, a shower, and all he needs. It had closet space. It would suit him. They had a barbershop, gym, and even a swimming pool. They take a bus and go to Walmart once a week, or Target, to be able to do a little shopping as they want to. And, they will take them to their appointments, as far as medical appointments and stuff. The medication, it's in a locked box in the apartment where you can put medicine in, that way, he can't get to it and they will issue him his medication.

Unspecified · December 2023

We would have chosen Charter Senior Living of Bowling Green for my father. I liked that there was individual outdoor space for each apartment. I liked that it was an established facility and it had an indoor pool for exercise. I felt that the staff was very receptive, welcoming, and inclusive. We also got to meet with some of the residents, and they were very welcoming and only had great things to say about the facility. The staff who gave me the tour came on a weekend even though I believe it was his day off. He showed me around, and introduced me to staff and residents. I appreciated that because I was only there for the weekend touring places. So, it was nice that he was able to accommodate me. I did see a menu. They offered choices in a menu style for dining, which I appreciated.

Acquaintance · December 2023

We absolutely love the Charter Community it has chaged my dad's life! Everyone is so nice, caring and helpful you never see anyone unhappy, sad or angry! My daddy feels so at peace for the first time in his life! I thank God for finding Charter Senior Living, if you only knew how depressed my dad was before he moved you would know how it's changed his life! We would definitely recommend it to anyone!!Oh and [name removed] makes the place he loves his community and takes exceptional care of each and everyone of them.

Unspecified · September 2023

Charter Senior Living of Bowling Green looked fine. The staff that we met was very nice, very cooperative, very open, and very easy to talk to. We met a lot of people and spoke to some of the residents. The issue we would have with that place is that the access to the outside is almost a little bit too much for our mother. The rooms were nice, the people were nice, and the facility was great. We saw the dining area. It was nice and clean, and the way the tables were done was nice.

Unspecified · August 2023

We went to Charter Senior Living of Bowling Green. It was pretty dark in the hallways, but the dining area seemed pretty good. I didn't like the unit that they showed us because the bathroom had a regular tub, so they're expecting senior people to step over into a tub, which my in-laws would not have been able to do. Also in the room, it had a connecting door to another room, but they had a sliding bolt on it, and they said somebody lived in the other room. Overall, we just didn't like the appearance of it, and it did not seem to have a lot of caregivers there that were out and around. They need to improve the bathrooms for sure. The shower-bath needs to be like a walk-in shower area and not a tub. They also need to have more brighter colored paint on the walls because it appeared pretty dark in there.

Unspecified · July 2023

The management here is awful. They can’t keep any good employees because of how unprofessional and unfair they are. As a result of this, the inside is very outdated and the landscaping is horrible. Patches of dead grass and weeds are everywhere. Even if you just drive by you can see this.

Acquaintance · June 2023

The staff and the folks living at Charter Senior Living Bowling Green are very friendly and helpful. My Sister in law loves the games and things they do as a group. The rooms are cute and you can decorate the way you like. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking.

Acquaintance · June 2023

My mother in laws biggest complaint is around the food. Often bland. Everything else is good. They have many different people so not sure [name removed] they could make it better. We would recommend the community to other families based on the experience we have had so far, as I think it is an affordable option for that area. If I remember the other facilities were [fee removed] to [fee removed] a month. For overall cost etc. This is a good community.

Unspecified · June 2023

I have never had anything but WONDERFUL experiences. I have always been treated with the most respect from all the staff and management. Don & Tracy are great at making a moving process so simple. Don is so kind and pleasant. Tracy makes sure with the process that all involved stays in the loop. Tracy is kind, sweet, and shows respect for someone transitioning to the next step of their life. I would highly recommend this community to anyone that is looking. The community may not have all the upgrades but it's what inside the walls of the community with the care that makes the difference!

Always a pleasure to visit Charter!

Acquaintance · May 2023

This is one of the friendliest places, and cleanest places, I have ever visited. I have my mother here, and she means the world to me. If I had one complaint... I would say the food could be better.

Wonderful residents with friendly staff

Unspecified · April 2023

I've toured Charter Senior Living of Bowling Green. I like that it's very friendly and active. But for my mom, there were a lot of long hallways, so mobility issues, that could be a problem. Although, they said that they tried to keep people with that kind of issue closer to the center where the activities are so they don't have quite as far to go. So they accommodate that, but if you get lots of people with those problems, somebody's going to get stuck further away. The staff members were very professional and very caring with the people that I saw them interact with. The place is a little bit older, and they're having to adjust things, like some of the showers were not walk-in, so they're fixing things as people come and go. There's a large dining room, a pool where they do water therapy, and they have a good-sized therapy room. Everybody has their own outdoor space right there at their place, more like an apartment living on the ground floor.

Unspecified · April 2023

We toured Charter Senior Living of Bowling Green. The people were very nice. The staff seemed very nice and knowledgeable. We met some of the residents that live there. They all seemed to be really happy, and they liked it. It's not a new facility like the other place. The guy that took us around was very nice and very accommodating. I would give it a good rating because it just seemed to be a really good place. They had 2-bedrooms and studios. They seemed to have enough room. We went to the dining room and watched people eat. Their food looked good. They had a refrigerator and a little microwave in the room. They had a good parking lot and spaces to walk around.

Unspecified · March 2023

I have been there visiting my love ones and friends and always been treated soo kind and the staff and leadership is awesome.. very efficient in all things.. very clean and kept up and very good food!! A highly respected place to go💕👏👏

Unspecified · February 2023

We chose Charter Senior Living of Bowling Green for my parents. They had a variety of rooms, and they were good. They were what we were looking for. They have excellent staff members. We saw a few people doing crafts, and some were playing games. We had a meal there, and it was very good. It is very much a community. Everybody was just very upbeat and seemed to be enjoying themselves. The people working there and the overall setup was very well geared for customer service and taking care of the people there. The facility was an older building, but it was in good shape, and nothing looked out of service or anything. It looked like they were on top of everything.

Unspecified · February 2023

I moved into Charter Senior Living of Bowling Green. I was able to bring my dogs. They have laundry facilities that either they do it or you do it yourself, depending on your abilities. You have to bring everything on your own for your room. They have a refrigerator and a stovetop, but they don't have an oven. The staff here is great. The problem is nobody wants to work right now, so they are short staffed. They are very, very supportive and upbeat, which helps the residents remain upbeat. They serve three meals a day, though the food could be better. They keep the building just as clean as they possibly can. They are always cleaning, and they clean your apartment once a week. They don't just put your clothes away or anything like that. They sweep once a week, and they do a good job. They make your bed when it needs it. Because it's independent living, they also expect you to take care of yourself and pick up after yourself. They have activities up until about 4:00. Everybody goes home at 4:00 or 5:00. They have an activities director, and there are other activities that you can do on your own, like puzzles. There's a TV in your room. You can go somewhere else, if you don't want to use the one in your room. The activities they do are pretty good, but sometimes they're a little bit juvenile. They don't have activities planned for people who are not handicapped mentally. They don't do anything on the weekends. We have a group for ladies that meets on the weekends. We sew, knit, or crochet. That's done by the residents; the staff doesn't do that. Some of the activities they do during the week are just geared to people with more mental handicaps. I wish they could do less of that or do more for those of us who haven't completely gone over mentally. In terms of value for money, it's pretty expensive. I did not do a lot of shopping, so I don't know how their fees here compare with other facilities. I have two rooms with one room set up for my crafts. That is why my rent is so high. I also have a living area, two showers, and a kitchen. They have a guy here who does the marketing, selling, and gets people in here. I like him so well that I just didn't even look around. I like all the staff here because they are great and awesome. This is an old building. It's showing its wear, but they do their best to keep it up and all that.

Beautiful. Clean and new. Great room. My father has a tv, recliner and is sleeping on his dad's twin bed. Great bathroom facilities. Small kitchenette. He can keep drinks and snacks.

Our 95 yr old grandmother took a fall May 2019 at home. She was previously very insistent that she would remain in her home. After her fall we were able to convince her to move into Charter Senior Living after she toured the facility. We were impressed with the amount of activity in the residents and how happy they all were. We even asked several of them during the walk through with Don Franks how they liked living at Charter. Every person we spoke with was upbeat, happy and had nothing but great things to say about Charter and the team. They were even asking Don to show us their apartments! It was adorable and a strong testament to how well they are cared for and that the Charter staff continually excel at their jobs. In speaking with Granny recently, she is very happy that she made this move. She was nervous at first because it was something new but the other residents and staff took her under their wing and really made her feel welcome. Now she enjoys hanging out with her friends watching TV and participating in activities like painting her finger nails and some arts and crafts. It is so nice to see the quality of life she has now and the gleam in her eye. Thank you Charter team for taking such wonderful care of her.

I moved to bowling green from cocoa florida , I have never given Kentucky a thought. My son lives in Morgantown and didn’t like me living alone after my husband his father died. A place for mom tried to talk me into buying into a coummunity but that was not something I wanted. I eventually reached Don and other staff here they made the move easier than I thought possible. He did a walk though with my son and a vertical one with me. I have a very comfortable one bedroom with kitchen . I’m very comfortable I have an outside door so l can toilet my dog with ease, the staff is great and very helpful and all things concidered I find this affordable. Having a Positive attitude when making this change in life will help a lot also .

Acquaintance · November 2022

Overall my loved one likes it there. The staff are helpful with things he can't do. And they're good at communicating with me to keep me informed.

Acquaintance · October 2022

They were willing to work with us on the cost based on income. My dad was adamant about not going but after the meeting with [name removed] he was agreeable. [name removed] engaged him in enjoyable conversation and he developed a comfort level. While my dad was not able to participate in activities, they offer so many for the residents. They offer housekeeping and laundry services, hair salon and transportation to doctor appointments. I highly recommend Charter. My dad was only there 5 months before he passed but I am thankful he was there.

Unspecified · September 2022

I went to Charter Senior Living of Bowling Green. Mom's condition is more than what they are capable of doing right now. They don't have a memory care, kind of a skilled nursing side yet, but they're going to work on it. They weren't able to help me directly. Mom needs more assistance than assisted living provides. The staff was very good, very friendly, and very helpful. There were no issues. They took the time to show me everything they needed to do. I was very satisfied with what I saw. I didn't see any problems at all. For the services they provide, that's perfect for the people that are there.

Resident · September 2022

I definitely think that their could have been better communication with the residents about what is going on and what is available. We had a bad experience on check out as well. My loved one was hospitalized and when we were ready to move back, we were no longer candidates. I understand why, but it would have been nice if it was communicated to us beforehand. Other than those issues it was a good experience.
