Reviews
for Chautauqua Health and Rehabilitation
Chautauqua Health & Rehabilitation has been a wonderful place for my mom. The staff are friendly, attentive, and truly seem to care about the residents. She’s receiving excellent care, and it’s comforting to know she’s in good hands. What I appreciate most is the wide variety of activities offered—they do a great job keeping residents engaged, active, and socially connected.
I appreciate all the love that was shown to my mom, Ms Rita. The staff was so loving to my beautiful mother during her time there! Thank you for your love and care of my mother, I will never forget it!
All the aides I met were AWESOME. Most nurses, except for the one who threw a fit about checking a blood sugar because it " wasn't time." The biggest problem was the nurse practitioner. She doesn't take each individual patient as a patient who needs INDIVIDUAL care. When someone who has severe asthma and COPD and CHF ends up with the flu, it needs to be treated IMMEDIATELY. It can and does go into pneumonia and possibly cause death. My sister is the case. She was diagnosed with flu on Monday and no meds ordered, chest X-ray on Tuesday and diagnosed with pneumonia on Wednesday and still NO MEDS ordered. By Friday morning sis started antibiotic. Too little too late. Shed been coughing up green phlegm since Monday. She didn't have strength to cough it up anymore. She died on Sunday. Absolutely no reason for her to be dead. She should have been sent to the hospital no later than Wednesday. Nurse Practitioner worried more about her refusing insulin than she did her infection. There was gnats flying around her bed and food and face continuously. I told a few people that and the reply was " yeah." Kitchen staff excellent. Food always looked great. Need a new nurse practitioner.
My experience was not good I arrived there on December the 20th after a total knee replacement within the first few minutes A 10. To women came into the room and checked my body over and see if I had any issues and I advise them at that point that I had a blood blister on my left side of my butt that was extremely painful I was told a nurse practitioner would come down and view it advise me. I was also told physical therapy people caught covid and would not be available for several days to help me with therapy. I was given three meals a day with eggs and oatmeal that's the third day advised did not want that to eat was not given any direction. The fourth day where they brought in breakfast I asked for a different meal I wish told I could have cereal which I accept it. I was given wood therapy session somewhere day four and I was given a shower which was the best thing that happened there the whole time I was there for a week I was given two showers of the shower chair. I advised again as I had everyday that I was a severe pain with my blister and I could not set up any I like to do is lay flat pretty much because it was hurting so bad can you help me the nurse practitioner did not show up on. A day 5 advise I was only going to give them a week on a Thursday and the physical therapy lady that showed up that day let's see what you can do. She's had me to walk down the call the to the room of the physical therapy does getting it to my house I had was on a curb and then when I went back to my room and told them again I'm leaving on Thursday. Little Thursday she did not was not aware that I was leaving and I said yes I am I'm leaving today the service given the time around 12:30 to have someone there to pick me up which I did. She said since the nurse practitioner is not here we cannot give you prescription of pain meds do your beds at home that you take they cannot schedule me an appointment at my doctor's office. But if I stay till Monday so they can work that out. And I said no I'm leaving today I have my script medicine at home and I already have a doctor's appointment schedule time with my doctor and I will call my surgeon Dr Moore and get paid meds from him for me to go get at the pharmacy which is what I did when I left. These are just a few issues that I had with your place of business you were not have situations there for people to cover people the nurse practitioner was not there the whole week that I was there) I was like taking care of for my pain that I have for my blood blister that I had to suffer a whole week with. And I did not get any reasonable physical therapy while I was there I am very disappointed in your facility in a pretty much starve myself the last 3 days while I was there I was not giving an alternative food to select from and stuff for breakfast that was cereal. So I hope all this information is put in there about your company it needs a lot of improvements and the best thing that happened to me there was getting to showers.
Friendly atmosphere and helpful staff!! And have you seen the meals? Food looks very appealing! Chef prepared!!
Great facility! Staff is so friendly!
Great team of people to work with.
This was a great place! Everyone was extremely nice and everyone took very good care of me during my 3 months or so stay last year. Special shout out to all the staff in E hall! Y'all are the best!! Special thanks to everyone in the therapy department too!
Wonderful facility with top notch staff who truly care about their residents.
Hi! Room A7 here, thanks to the great people here who know about customer relations! Lee, Lisa, Jeff, Shamika, Ryan, & all the other staff who go out of their way to accommodate the patients and visitors, each and everyday! Greatly appreciate you all, thanks again!
We had no other options in Owensboro that had Medicaid beds open. There was no time to waste since our hospital was VERY pushy in discharging her so we were limited if we wanted our family member close to us. We received a recommendation from a friend who currently has someone in this nursing home who has been in there for 2 months. She said she continues to see good care given to her friend. Denise, the Admissions Administrator, has been amazing. So accommodating and responds quickly to messages left for her. We have only been dealing with this facility for a week and our family member has been taking good care of so far. This facility is under new management so I'm very hopeful that I will continue to see this facility taking good care of our family member. I will continue to update with reviews, but so far this has been a choice we feel was a good one. We would have had to put her in a facility 45mins plus out of town. So at least here in our hometown we can keep a close eye on her care. Thank you Denise! so far this experience has been much better then expected and continue to look forward to working with you.
The staff there make you feel welcome and what I've seen actually care about the people that they care for.
Aunt has lived there for a couple of months. Care adequate staff friendly
We moved our family member here from another facility and it has been the most wonderful experience. She is up & dressed and can't wait to see what activities are on for the day. She has gone from totally depressed to a social butterfly. She loves all the sweet and caring staff and can't compliment the chef enough.
Moved my brother to Chautauqua Health and Rehab yesterday, April 20, 2023, thanks to Denise Culbertson for reaching out to me when Beaver Dam Nursing and Rehab gave a bunch of people a 30 day notice to move. She did an outstanding job to set everything up and get my brother moved and met all his needs. When we got there we were met with many friendly staff members a lot we already knew, but a lot we didn't know that came and welcomed Tracey to the facility. Ted and the maintenance promptly set up his tv, the whole staff was amazing and friendly, making sure he had what he needed, thank you so much for helping my brother getting a place that feels like home to him now.
Denise Culbertson (Social Services/Admissions) with Chautauqua Health and Rehabilitation, has been awesome to work with. She has made a difficult situation a pleasant transition for our family. Thank you for all you and your co-workers have done.
The staff was awesome. Top notch.
Sending a big shout out to the staff on the memory unit at Chautauqua Health & Rehabilitation! My sister has been a resident at Chautauqua for several years & I have been very pleased with the kindness & care she has received. All through Covid-19 the staff went above & beyond with setting up window visits & when appropriate patio visits so I could see my sister. When I’m out of town & checking on her via phone I’m always greeted warmly & given details of her day including when she when she got up, what she ate, etc. I feel so blessed that this staff has stepped up in so many ways & has been like family to my sister! Thank Chautauqua!🥰
My mother in law was a resident here. The staff was wonderful. They went above and beyond with her. They kept us updated on her condition and care.
Very nice, clean and friendly atmosphere with happy residents and great staff!
I visited the facility recently and I found it to be clean and welcoming. The staff was friendly and helpful. The residents seemed happy and well cared for.
Didn't like the facility don't appreciate how they keep a person money when they got discharged
Very understaffed and the residents don't get the quality care that they are needing the nurses are rude to the staff that works under them
Angela storm is the Staff director, and she is really making a difference, turning that place around in a positive way. She's a awesome person!!! Great job you have done there so far, you should be proud of yourself
So far it seems to be a decent place. Staff have been nice and they're experienced. Was able to get my Dad up and moving even when he didn't want to...
Great facility to work for!
We suredo have a clean building and people are so nice and caring to our residents and each other.
What a lovely caring place there receptionist is a bright ray of Sunshine and must really love her job. So now let’s talk nursing what a caring staff. Last but not least the Admins and department heads here at the facility are so helpful. And understand along with doing all there daily activities they run a very pleasant place. Oh and the nursing staff although they are constantly running here and there they all still have smiles and pay close attention to residents
Great group of employees who care about their residents.
I'm a proud member of the Chautauqua team. There is exciting changes, new ownership, and fresh faces to love and provide great care to all our Residents.
Chautauqua Health and Rehabilitation has been amazing, from the residents to the staff!
Chautauqua Health and Rehab has a wonderful team of people, who work together to meet the needs of their residents. The staff are always friendly and helpful when I am in the center. Denise, Admissions Director, goes above and beyond to offer exceptional customer service and assist families through the admission process.
The food was absolutely horrible and you cant tell the diffrence between people working there and the people living there there staff is nasty , I was treated very poorly the 3 months I was there.
My mom is in Owensboro Care Center. It is an old facility. The building itself is probably 60 years old. The rooms are small and cramped. The care overall is lacking. I think they're understaffed. If there was more staff there, my mom would be able to have a diaper change every two hours like they're supposed to do.
