Reviews
for Glen Ridge Health Campus
I can’t say enough good things about the nurses and therapists at Glen Ridge are not only skilled but genuinely compassionate — always taking time to answer our questions and ensure comfort and dignity. The therapy team is equally amazing. Their encouragement, consistency, and personalized care made a huge difference in the patients recovery and quality of life. It’s clear they truly care about the well-being of each resident. Highly recommend this facility to any family looking for exceptional care!
Glen ridge is an amazing facility with caring staff. Therapy services are too tier which is why so many people return years later when they need support again. The leadership team is cohesive and the floor staff truly care for the residents who live there 🩷
Glenridge is an amazing family oriented campus, that provides excellent care to their residents. I also appreciate their amazing staff.
Such a positive environment!
Due to my profession I am in Glenn Ridge several times a month. They staff is friendly and very accommodating. Caroline and Hannah are always willing to assist in any way. The therapy dept is great and will tailor the needs to get people from rehab back to assisted living.
I find the staff at Glen Ridge to be very kind and helpful. My aunt who resides there speaks highly of the food. Getting her setup to move in was seamless. I would recommend this facility to others without hesitation.
I was there recently for knee replacement surgery. They are way short staffed! Too many of the aids, don't seem to be aware of how people with knee replacement need ice packs. One weekend the nurse had no aid to help out. Therapy was ok, therapist don't spend enough one on one time with patients. Never have the same nurse or aid. The only good experience was the food and Peaches who works in Therapy, she was very nice and helpful. Please hire more people to be on the floor and get new recliners for patients to sit in, the ones there are old and don't work well. The food was excellent, just need more choices if you don't want the daily specials.
Therapy team is awesome! Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Food is fantastic. Lots of different options for each meal and something to eat for everyone. Campus looks and smells clean. Lots of fun activities offered. Bingo, Bunco, Happy Hour, etc.
Therapy is top-notch, and the staff are extremely helpful!
If I could leave less than one star I would. Very understaffed.
Glenridge has been a huge help in caring for my mother who suffered from a stroke last July. The staff are caring & friendly & I believe they do their best to make her comfortable while ensuring she gets social activity with other residents. Overall I have found Glenridge to be accommodating & helpful during what has been a very stressful time.
Mom was recently admitted to the Glenridge center and the whole process was made smooth by the staff especially Caroline Hughes. Her help and guidance was excellent! We look forward to many good days ahead!
My grandmother was recently here at Glen Ridge and she had a wonderful experience. Rehab department was amazing. She loved the chef salads! The nursing staff and caregivers were very kind. Our family is creditably grateful for the care she received at Galen Ridge. I highly recommend Glen Ridge to anyone seeking dedicated rehab care for a loved one.
Glen ridge is a great facility with great staff.
I absolutely love Glen Ridge!! It’s so much of a family environment. The staff, everyone on the staff, is truly caring, extremely knowledgeable & genuinely kind.
My sister has intellectual disabilities and has lived in community assisted living most of her life. When she required more care that facility was unable to provide I was extremely upset that I had to put her in a skilled nursing facility. Glen Ridge has been a prayer answered. My sister is not only receiving quality care but she just about knows everyone and they know her. She is happy and so is her family. It’s obvious that the staff enjoy working there.
If I can rate this place below one star I would. The patients beds do not get changed. The CNAS are very rude and inconsiderate. One of the patients was nearly falling off the bed and looks like he been laying there for days with no treatment. The nurses needs to understand there is more to being a nurse other than passing out meds. What happened to safety ? What happened to self care ? What happened to their mental state? You can not let a patient sit in a messy smelly room with no clean bed and the patient has not showered in a while! This is ABUSE and the place should definitely be investigated.
Overall not a great place for my mom! Facility is old and run down. rooms were clean but showed wear and tear and are in need of a remodel. Staff at the floor level was nice and seemed to focus on care of my mom. Zero security and accountability. I came and went as I pleased with no one asking who I was or why I was there. I took my mom out for lunch and no one asked me what I was doing with her. Anybody could walk around the facility and do whatever as the staff is very busy. PT's and OT's seemed to be professional and effective. On the other hand communication was extremely poor at the director level. Left voicemails with zero call backs as well as my sister. When I arrived physically , I went to talk with the Executive director about the poor communication and he got very defensive and even angry that I was bringing this issue up. Made incorrect statements in an effort to cover the failures of his staff and shift the blame to me and my sister. Zero communication on what the criteria was for my mom to leave the facility. I had to make the decision on when it was the time for her to leave , which in my opinion is ridiculous and I am not a trained health care worker. I would think they were just trying to milk the insurance coverage.
My mother was treated terribly there. They lied about giving her prescribed medication, and were very disrespectful to her. There was one nice man there who was very kind. In the evenings. However most of the staff had no compassion for an elderly woman. She had to go back to the hospital from there and died a few weeks later. I feel so bad that I sent her there, thinking it would benefit her.
I had a bad fall in May 2024. I broke my hip/femur and injured my thigh. I spent 5 days in the hospital and then transferred to a rehab facility. (Not Glenn Ridge) I chose a place convenient for my children to drop things off I may need. Unfortunately I chose the wrong place and did not received the care I needed. I called Glen Ridge to see what I needed to do to transfer to their facility. I spoke with a very nice lady. I told her since I had stayed there in 2013 & 2014 when I had my original hip replacements. Glen Ridge was such a nice place with good care and wanted to find out what I need to do to be transferred to their facility. She was extremely helpful and checked to see if they had a room available. She called back in a few minutes and said yes I could come and gave me instructions on how to transferred. I also needed transportation to their facility. She also scheduled the transportation. The next morning I got a call from Glen Ridge confirming my time to be ready for transport. A very nice gentleman, Marty, arrived promptly and was very patient while they hoisted me up into his wheelchair. He loaded me in the van along with my things. Off we headed! I was so excited and very relieved when we turned in parking lot and I seen the Glen Ridge Health Campus sign. I was taken to my room by one of the ladies that I spoke with while Marty unloaded my things and brought them to my room. During my stay I was treated with respect, care, patience, lots of smile and professional yet friendly staff. So many The food was great and the kitchen accommodated my food allergies. This gentleman from the kitchen (that oversees each patients needs) came in and checked several times during my stay to make sure the food was correct and if I had any issues. I told him I was very pleased and they had such a wide variety menu. I had so many nurses and aides that assisted me in my personal care and always asked “Do you need anything else” before they left my room. The cleaning staff was also very polite and quiet while cleaning my room. Sometimes I slept right through their visit. My physical therapist, Ann, and occupational therapist, Rachel, were very kind, caring, knowledgeable and genuinely cared about me. Each one of them asked if I had any questions or concerns and provided answers promptly. They showed me how to transfer from bed to wheelchair within the first two to three days. The therapy and technics they used worked so well with my very painful hip and leg. When I arrived at Glen Ridge I was in excruciating pain and severe muscle spasms. Within a week they were able to get my pain and spasms under control along with learning how to move and get around that was easy for my level of injury. A BIG Thank You to Glen Ridge, Marty and their many staff members that made my 7 week stay and recovery a success! If you or a loved one ever needs an in-patient rehab facility please give Glen Ridge Health Campus a try! A choice you will not regret. Sherry H.
My family was frantically looking for a place that would be safe and enjoyable for my mother. She had fallen 7 times in less than 3 months. We all divided up looking for a place and I walked into Glen ridge and met Caroline. The place looked so warm and inviting I felt like we would not be able to afford it. Caroline listened to me about what was needed and gave me all the answers. I called my sisters and said you have to come now! They were as happy as I was and we made the plan to get her here. She never wanted to leave her home but she now feels like Glen Ridge is her home. We are all very happy and thankful for the extension of our family! ❤️ Thank you for helping take care of my mom so she can keep her independence without getting hurt! 😄
My mother has been in the facility for over three years and it is been over the top wonderful. I highly recommend this facility for the personal care of the one you love. They have wonderful nurses, great activities, and excellent management
Our mother, Mary B., was discharged yesterday after having spent three months in memory care rehab following a broken hip. The progress she made while in Glen Ridge was remarkable. The staff was attentive, patient, and caring and made sure all her needs were met. They joked with her and made her stay more fun. She loved the food (and the chef!). He even came off his break to tell her goodbye before she left. Our family is grateful for everyone and the care they gave.
My mother has been a resident at Glen Ridge several times for Rehabilitation, following some acute clinical events. She is now at her home and doing very well. All of the staff are so very caring and supportive - and were with each stay. She loved the food and the variety she could select from the menu. My brother and I both enjoyed meals with her and agree! They go the extra mile and made her feel special. Care and encouragement go a long way when mom needed more help than we could give her.
If you want your loved one that is bedridden to sit in their own feces and urine for well over 2 hours. Some of the AIDES that they have there are really nice but they have one that really need additional training. The area that was operated on ended up with an infection , had severe UTI. I just want to let the review readers know this prior to their decision.
My 86 yr old mom arrived late last night. Grateful she slept ok, but when she called the nurse button early this morning, no one came. She has a fractured T6 vertebrae and coming off a bad UTI. She got herself to the wheelchair and scooted with her feet to the bathroom! NOT IMPRESSED! Later found out they were short-staffed! Get your chit together!
Takes 40 minutes or more for staff to respond to nurse call light. Unable to receive evidence that patient's eating / sleeping / toileting was being monitored / documented. Family member became impacted - placed on stool softeners - not assisted to restroom timely (unable to walk) - placed in shower w/o a shower chair & was accidently allowed to slide to floor by staff. No x-ray taken after fall. A loose wall rail was then repaired in that restroom. Receiving info from staff about blood draws and x-rays was frustrating. Left in same position for long periods of time resulting in a bed sore. Depends were not changed timely and clothes often wet with urine or bowel movement.
Glen Ridge Health Campus was real close. It's just a half a mile away from where we live. It's a little bit older. They not only have assisted living, but they also have a rehab facility there. We were going to use that one actually. They had somebody on staff that spoke Spanish, but they weren't there all the time. The problem I had with them was that they weren't responsive. They were supposed to send somebody to interview my mother-in-law to verify the level of care that she needed. They said that they would wait closer to the time that she needed to stay there and nobody ever showed up. I called them, and this was like a week before we had to use it, and they said that they decided that maybe they weren't the best fit for my mother-in-law, that they didn't want to proceed any further, and that left us in a bind, because we had one week to try to find someplace else. I was really disappointed that they kind of backed off at the last minute. The staff seemed friendly. They all seemed nice, except the one lady that we were supposed to talk to went on vacation right when we had to do everything, and she's the one that decided it wasn't the best fit.
Our experience while being discharged from this facility was one I will never forget. The disorganization, lack of information, and overall treatment we received while waiting for a transport from this facility was truly shocking. I do not suggest approaching anyone working a desk with questions, they are extremely rude and not helpful whatsoever. Having a loved one in a facility like this is hard enough on its own, transporting a loved one from a facility to other care is also stressful. Having the added stress of staff being rude and uncaring during any of these transitional periods is just unacceptable. Being a decent human and treating people with respect isn’t too much to ask for, especially in this line of work.
My husband is at Glen Ridge Health Campus. We have been very pleased with them. I have even thought of moving over there myself. He's been there long enough now that he knows a lot of the residents, at least the ones in his area. His nurses, one in particular, have been very good with him because sometimes he needs quite a bit of care. I certainly cannot complain about Glen Ridge. They have met our needs, for sure. He's very happy with the meals. I'm very surprised at how many activities he has joined in. They have little activities in the afternoon, and I know they are having a concert today. I think the building is very clean. I've gone in a couple of times when his bed hasn't been made yet, but I guess things go on some days that make some things run a little bit late. The cleaning girl came in yesterday when I was over there, and she ran the vacuum, dusted the furniture, and cleaned the bathroom. They're very expensive, but they all are. And I guess compared to other places, they are comparable. They do go out shopping occasionally, and I know they have taken some of the residents out just for a ride around in the afternoon, particularly when the trees were all pretty before the leaves all fell off.
My mother was in Glen Ridge Health Campus. It's nice, it doesn't smell or anything, and the staff was very nice. It has a little bit more of a nursing home vibe like the room is just a room, it's not an apartment. It has the same kind of rules as assisted living, being able to get out and get around somewhat, and being able to feed yourself, the same type of rules. The rooms looked more like a hospital room, but a little bit bigger, maybe with a little couch in there, but it wasn't a lot of space. They have community areas where you could go down and get some coffee and that kind of stuff. They're nice, it's just the other place was nicer, and the rehab portions were nice. The staff is kind and the place was clean, everybody there had been very kind, there was no dirt or trash or anything, and trash cans were emptied.
Wonderful facility with great staff!
This is the worst place for care. I have a pelvic break. It takes over an hour to get the prescribed pain medication. All I hear is how they have no help. Do you think patients care about that? It doesn’t matter when you are severely hurting. Food was purposely left out of reach for me. The door was slammed hard when the nurse left. The call light does not and did not get answered. I wait and wait and wait in pain. I will ask for a transfer tomorrow. And I will tell anybody to not even think bout coming here.
My husband is at Glen Ridge Health Campus. We chose that place for him, because it's the only facility that does skilled nursing. The layout is really good. It's easy to follow and they have PT and OT. There's a dining area for each group. They were supposed to have activities, but due to not having enough staff, they haven't been able to do activities in the skilled nursing part. Also, their food has a lot of carbs.
This atrocity of an establishment killed my grandmother. One of the careless staff members exposed her to COVID, and it killed her. That in itself is unacceptable; however, the lack of professionalism & common decency evades the seemingly untrained staff and administration.
Nice rehabilitation center, needs more help . limited rehab some day no rehab at all🤔
Please fill the salt and pepper containers on the dining room tables. Thank you!
I cannot say enough good things about this care facility! From the moment we walked in the door, we were impressed with the cleanliness, friendliness and professionalism exhibited. Our relative was compassionately cared for in the Personal Care wing as well as the Skilled Nursing for the past 5 months. Caring for the sick and elderly is a difficult job, especially during these times. I never observed any staff without proper masking (as stated in a previous post), and I was a visitor quite frequently. My relative was well cared for and I was promptly informed of any change in her health. What a Godsend this place was for our family.
My mother in law who is 91 broke her ankle and had to go into re-hab for 6 weeks. She also has dementia. After only 6 days staying at Glen Ridge she had been exposed to Covid. Employees are not required to have the vaccine. My mother in law has called us at home to complain that no one checks on her and she has to hobble to the toilet. The staff seem to be nice enough and it is clean. But not much else I can say for it.
My mom was a resident last year. At first we really liked it, everyone was very nice. But then care went downhill fast. Meds were not given timely, several aids were clearly there for only a paycheck. Although there were 2 aids there that were awesome but they shared with us that patients didn’t get good care there. They wouldn’t bathe my mom and when we asked repeatedly they said they did. Which they clearly did not. The room had cloths all around and soiled bed linens In The corner. Not all the time but often enough. To be fair, the food was very good. The facility had some nice things such as music and happy hour for residents. If you send someone there just make sure you check on them.
no communication with family members. After 5:00 pm they will not answer phones nor will they return calls. Since we are not allowed in to see our loved ones and we cannot contact a human we can we can only assume they are not getting the care they deserve
Awesome staff despite issue outside of their control
They dont even deserve a 1 star. This place is a joke.
On a scale of 1-10. I would rate them a 1. The staff is a joke . The nurse DO NOT know anything about the patients they are suppose to be taken care of . You ask the nurse a question about your loved one and all you get is that " i don't know". They never get back with you. The nurses aide do a great job . I would like to recognize Rebecca. She was the only one who treated her patients with such care and kindness. As for the nurses who stayed up at the nurses station were a joke. Sad sad sad poor excuse for a nurse. I truly believe they need to get up off their butts and do their jobs like a professional nurse should. The aides need a raise. An for the nurses they are overpaid. Yes this place is clean . But dont let the looks deceive you. They left my mother on a bed pan for more then an hour . Which could of rip here then skin. They also did not read her medication orders right. They ended up putting her back on meds that she was winged off of . After she left it took us 5 mos . to get her straighten out.
My mom has been in and out of this facility several times. Even though they have their problems as does just about every Nursing Care facility I strongly believe this place is much better than the other Nursing homes we have stayed at. The Staff is a bit understaffed HOWEVER, the staff that they do have works hard to do their job. The food is much better than most other Nursing facilities as well. Overall, In Louisville KY, if my mom had to stay in a Nursing home I would hope to be able to choose this one. The other nursing homes such as "Green Meadows in Mt. Washington" is a absolute dump and filthy. I give Glen Ridge 5 stars for their ability to do as much as they do with a understaffed staff.
Poor care. They do not come in at night to check on you all night long. Leave you soaking wet. Short staffed. Serve the same food days in a row. Looks beautiful but don't let that fool you. Won't wipe you after accidents. Do not assist the terminal ill. OMG Heart breaking. You better be able to do pretty good on your own.
Great place to rehab at.. was there for two weeks I have no complaint's everyone was nice friendly very helpful.
Under staffed with very high ratio of patients to nurses. At night they start sending nurses home as soon as the last visitor leaves their family. Don't put your loved ones here, to management they're just an ATM.
Let my mother fall and break her hip never called the family within 24hrs boxed all her stuff up and put it in storage.Don't take any family member their
Glen Ridge is where I wanted to go, but I couldn’t get in because it was full. It was very, very nice, but I didn’t get to go into a room. They were very friendly and went overboard to show me what they had there. I really appreciated them.
