Heartland Villa Center

I can't thank the amazing staff at Heartland Villa enough for getting my dad strong and healthy after a severe flu landed him in the hospital. The therapy staff of Michelle, Trent and Carrie did an incredible job getting his physical and mental strength back up and the entire team was so kind and welcoming. They even helped us arrange for continued therapy now that he's back at home. I've spent a lot of time in care facilities as a volunteer and a visitor and this is one of the very best. If your loved one needs care, I would have zero hesitation about trusting the team at Heartland to look after their wellbeing.

Heartland Villa has been a wonderful place for my mom to get stronger through rehabilitation and medical care after she experienced a fractured hip and spine. The nursing staff, PT, OT, and the administration are kind, knowledgeable and dedicated. Thank you to everyone at Heartland Villa!

My recent stay at Heartland Villa was absolutely more than I had expected. First, when you enter the building there are no unpleasant odors. You may smell the great food cooking. You will be greeted with lots of smiles and friendly faces such as David welcoming you to their facility. You will find rooms are very clean and safe If staff sees a small piece of paper on the floor someone picks it up. So thanks to Angie for having some great workers. You don't have to worry about having your family do your laundry because the staff are great. If your clothes go to laundry you may get it back that day unless it's after staff has gone for the day but you will get it the next day. The dietary staff makes it a point to get to know the residents and call them by name. How they can remember I don't know. If there is something that you don't like they will find something else for you. I enjoyed the meals and yes I have my favorites. The CNAs are very caring and friendly. They treat you with care and concern for their residents. They work hard and have good days as well as bad. If someone passes away they show compassion to the family as they are also saddened by losing a friend they have taken care of. Now let's get to my favorite thing to praise. The activity director. Travis was sent by God. Why do I say that, it's because he is uplifting the spirits of the residents. He plays music, sings, and throws a little dance moves from time to time. The residents enjoy his character. Now for my final review. I went there for some physical rehab so I may be able to stand and walk again, something I haven't done in three years at least. Trent, Michelle, Jessica, and the others worked me hard. Carrie has an IPad with follows the way the lights blink. I told her that I didn't like her Simon Says, lol. We had fun. In therapy and another resident, a spry young woman, was hitting a balloon back and forth with me when she hit it, and it hit the ceiling and burst. She laughed and we all did as well and then she said that she would pay for it. Such a sweet woman and I will never forget her. Let's get back to Trent. He was telling me the exercise bike went to Level 15. So he put it on that level and it was very hard. So he put it on my level. As a.joke, while he was going to his. office and coming to see how I was doing I turned the level to three. He was standing by me, looking at the screen and looking away. When he looked to see what level I was on, he asked me how long I was on that level. I told him for minutes and that he had looked at the screen. We laughed and it was just for fun. P TRENT is great. He encourages you to try and try and praises you because you made an effort. Same way with Michelle. At times it seemed she was being demanding, but with that being said, I have made improvements to start on my goals to stand and walk again. I hope I haven't left anyone out, but I will say this: this was the best place to. I have been telling people about it and if they need to place a family in a nursing home. HEARTLAND VILLA is the place to go to. THANK YOU TO EACH AND EVERY ONE FOR WHAT THEY DID TO HELP ME GET TO WHERE I AM TODAY. NOT ALL GOALS WERE MET BUT I SURE DID GET A JUMP START.

Amazing staff and amazing place to trust with your loved ones! Definitely at the top of the list for nursing home facilities in the area.

If you are looking for a facility for a loved one…Heartland Villa is the place we recommend. Starting at the front door …no smells of urine/pine-sol. The staff here is top notch …starting with the director and continuing with nursing, laundry, dietary, ancillary, therapy…there are not enough adjectives to describe the level of care we experienced with our mothers stay. Our mother was taken care of as if she was the staffs mother or grandmother. If there was ever an issue they would work on it , resolve it and then follow up with it. We felt safe and confident leaving her in their care. The rehab/therapy was in my opinion the best experience she’s ever had anywhere. Not only did they have individualized therapy but they also gave us detailed instructions and resources and then followed up with any questions or concerns we had. As far as we are concerned she/we couldn’t have found a better therapy or facility.

Very unhappy with experience. I have a few complaints but the main one is they did not seem to do anything to help my mom in managing her recent ostomy. She was transferred there after surgery and colostomy care and education was one of the reasons. I believe there was one nurse (Kevin) who could attach the bag and it would adhere more than a day. The others did not know how to care for this and the facility did nothing to educate them. Consequently, my mother left there after her insurance said they would no longer cover and she was no better than when she went in. The facility did nothing to help facilitate in getting supplies. It was up to the family to keep her in supplies. These are medical supplies that she has an Rx for and they did not assist in getting the supplies she needed. In addition, without any notice, they took away all her over the counter meds such as Tums and Pepto Bismol. I understand their concern and why but they did not tell us before or after they took them. These items were in a drawer in her room so they had to have gone through her personal belongings without her knowledge or consent. They also allowed one of their patients to wander the halls at all hours of the day and night and she would enter other patients rooms and refuse to leave. I understand the woman had dementia but she should not have been allowed to do this. Overall, not a good experience for anyone.

My husband is at Heartland Villa Center. Our experience has been fine. The food was the least thing I liked about it. It's just bland and not tasty. The people are great and the care is great. The rooms are very clean. They are cleaning the rooms every single day. It's pretty bright, not cheery, but better than some I've seen. The staff was great. They're very friendly and very knowledgeable. They have a large TV room for gathering, different activities for them to do like bingo and checkers and stuff like that, and physical therapy and occupational therapy. They have a nice park, too. You can take your loved ones out and sit in the shade or they take them outside and play music and everything.

My grandmother went here for rehab after a broken bone. Loved it so much she wanted to live there.

My grandmother came here for rehab and decided to move here from assisted living. She said it’s all about the care here. Everyone’s so nice and it’s like there’s an “ invisible arm around you here.” She said it’s comfortable like a home. It’s a quick drive from Owensboro for family to visit and it smells nice unlike other nursing homes.

I know of someone who recently transferred a family member here from a different facility and it has been great reviews. Staff do a great job of caring for the residents and being uplifting.

I'm a resident here myself they work hard to get this please cleAn and keep there. Been ayear and 9 months. People are all nice. Staff members are all good at what they do.

Our Mom moved in there last month. We haven't seen her so animated in a very long time! Unlike the last home she was in, she isn't left in her room all of the time. She eats often in the dining room, participates in lots of activities (including Bingo, her favorite), happy to see us but not upset when we leave.There are no smells of pee or unwashed bodies there. She gets lots of attention from the staff and seems to be thriving well. So glad we found this place!

This facility is AMAZING! The staff are the best around providing EXCEPTIONAL care to all of the residents. It is such a joy to walk in the front door and see so many smiling faces! I highly recommend Heartland Villa!

My mother in law was there and they took really good care of her. She was released and home now. But if something happens that is the place we will send her. Loving caring staff... Always will to go the extra miles to help.

I can't begin to tell you how amazing, caring, and loving the staff at Heartland Villa has been to my brother. They go out of their way to take wonderful care of their residents. The staff has been incredibly helpful and facilitating especially with our family member being moved there during the pandemic. They have helped to facilitate calls and window visits and even more importantly, taken great care of them. If you are in need of rehabilitative or long term care for yourself or a loved one, I would highly recommend Heartland Villa!

During this trying times I know my mother is VERY well taken care of. I am so happy we have “extended family“ to help take care of her.

My mother has been under the care of the good people at Heartland Villa for four years. I never doubt that she is receiving compassionate and expert care round the clock. The nurses and CNAs as well as the administrators care about the work they do, and it shows!

Heartland Villa is a very nice place, the staff is very helpful and they seem to want to make the patients happy and to take care of there needs. My mother has been there for over 2 years, and it was the best place for her!

Food and Staff were great

My mother is currently at Heartland Villa, the staff takes care of my mothers needs, they are helpful, caring and understanding. She also has been receiving therapy services they are working to improve her mobility and balance, they are caring and motivating. The office staff has been very helpful and informative. Heartland Villa is owned by Genesis and while its very nice and clean with a great staff, and I would recommend Heartland for love ones. Corporation Genesis - 3 Stars, Genesis does need to do some updating within the rooms, common areas. Genesis also over see the meals with some variety but needs more variety for the residents. It would be nice to see more fresh vegetables (especially while in season) and fruits. Genesis needs to equip the facility in a timely matter when updates are needed.
