Reviews
for Hermitage Care & Rehabilitation Center
Everyone that I interacted with provided me with exceptional care. I’m not gonna name names because I forget I would leave somebody out and that’s a testament to itself that everyone I interacted with was professionally, friendly, encouraging to me and and met my needs. Any questions I had were answered in a timely manner and every department that I worked with interacted real well with any other department.
I stayed at Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation Center in Owensboro for 6 weeks and it was wonderful. The staff was wonderful, too, and the food was well-seasoned. I was in a private room and it was very nice. One time, I had to be in an air mattress and it got messed up but the maintenance was there to make sure I got another one quickly. It's also clean, with no bad smells, and no trash. I don't have a bad thing to say about that place.
My mother was a resident from dec 20- January 21 on the rehab floor she received excellent care. Everyone was attentive n respectful to her. Robin the cna was a wonderful with her and an excellent caregiver. Thank all for the wonderful care she received. The Stinnett’s
Robin is always so helpful with my dad. They do a great job taking care of him.
My mother in law has been here for rehab after a surgical procedure and I cannot say enough great things. Robin the CNA has been a true blessing. She is caring and attentive and has made her stay wonderful. You don’t find that everywhere and I wish all places had a person like her. Robin the nurse has also been really great and kind. I would recommend this facility.
Everyone took excellent care of my mother in law, Margaret Louise Chaney. She was in room 56, physical therapy and released last Friday, 11/8/24. Special thanks to Robin Hack, Veronica, Rebecca, Debbie & PT James!
My mother is in long term care, semi private room. While there are sacrifices & adjustments to be made when sharing a room, the staff has gone above and beyond to accommodate. The food is good!! Every staff member is so nice and pleasant, and always ready to help. I’m comfortable with my mom being there, and this means everything
My mom has had PT there and I can’t say enough about the therapists, nurses, and CNA’s, and administration who have helped her, loved on her, and done the extras just to calm her. She becomes a permanent resident tomorrow, and my heart is so very thankful. Difficult transitions are comforted with you guys.
This is a great place to live. They always have fun activities going on such as bingo, kickball, going outside when nice and so much more. Even the ones who can't leave their rooms, they make sure to offer other things to them. I have complete faith and trust in their nursing staff, they take such great care of me I know they have my best interest at heart!
My mom stayed there for a while, want to compliment The staff there for taking care of my mom, plus the staff will go out of their way for you, especially Danny. Thank y’all!
I've spent several months at this facility obtaining hours for a student internship and I have absolutely loved it. The staff has been very welcoming and helpful, and the residents seem very happy and well taken care of. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for care.
My experience at Hermitage was amazing! The people were so caring and sweet always wanting to be helpful. The rehab was excellent and I am so thankful for them. I would recommend Hermitage to anyone!
A wonderful place, with a great staff..
I was a resident recently in the Rehab hall for six weeks. I can’t begin to tell you how pleasant my stay was. The home was clean when I moved in and it stayed clean the whole six weeks. Thanks to the cleaning crew!! I can’t say enough for the nurses and CNA’s. The Nurses were professional and kind and ordered meds punctually and were very kind! Thanks to the Nurses (my angels). The CNA’s were always quick to help me when I turned on my light for assistance and checked on me even when I didn’t turn on my light, asking if I needed fresh water, was I comfortable, or did I need anything else. (Also, my angels). The physical and occupational therapist were amazing. They were very professional and were able to get me rehabbed in the 6 weeks that I was there. They had compassion but didn’t baby me so that I could reach my goal. ( more angels)! The meals were served promptly and the food was well balanced and prepare well. They would accommodate me if I wanted something different to eat. (Again, more angels). In fact, the whole staff was polite and friendly. I loved the activities provided to make the time pass. The people that supervised the activities provided fun and were so sweet. ( more angels). I know this is long but the reason is that I didn’t think I wanted to be in a nursing home. I was wrong! This is a great place to be and I made so many friends. I recommend this facility 100 percent!!
Very great environment good aids and a great activities director
My father has been here approximately one month for rehab. This was our first experience in a nursing home setting with one of our parents. The cafeteria staff were so friendly and accommodating with meals. You would always see these guys helping out in all areas of the facility. We did struggle at times with some care, but nothing that wasn’t worked out quickly. PT, OT and Speech Therapy worked with our father regularly and our family was very pleased with these services.
Absolutely love this place. Best place to put your loved ones!
I was in today you see my dad. As I walk by the other rooms, a Little old lady in room 31 was crying for help (multiple) time. All workers seemed annoyed and hating their job reguarding helping her. Someone please help her or send her to a place she can get good care, better treatments( oxygen) more loving care.
Glad a lot of these workers don’t work in the food service industry. Disgusted at how many times I’ve saw one of them trying to provide care for my mother without washing their hands first or coming in the door reeking of smoke.
The grandmother was a resident there for several years the compassion and wonderful care of the staff showed her was beyond amazing! The food is decent, there’s always activities to do and staff is always willing to help!
Wonderful place to care for your loved ones! Very compassionate staff!
Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation Center was a really nice nursing home, but it's not built specifically for the memory impaired. My sister was there for rehabilitation, and she got excellent care. She was there for therapy, so she was only there for 30 days. They did an excellent job with her. It's in an older setting at Owensboro. It's really nice there on West Parrish Avenue. It's beautiful, with lots of really tall trees, and it's been there for a while. It was already there when I was in high school. It's located right next to a high school. It's old, but well-kept. They've done a great job taking care of her and doing therapy with her. There were also really good meals, and the personal care was excellent. It was a great experience for her.
I thought this was going to be a great place for my mom to rehab. I was so wrong. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful but the food is awful. The furnishings in the rooms need updating badly. Sadly my mom contracted Covid from a worker there. She was then sent to a sister facility with a Covid unit where she died 9 days later. We have received no communication from the Hermitage, no condolences, nothing. When we went to pick up her items there was something missing. We asked two different people to make sure she had her personal items when she was transferred, especially her glasses. She was sent without the majority of the items she needed including her glasses which she could not see without. We are very disappointed with the way they handled this whole situation and the conditions in which she died at the sister facility. We are heartbroken.
My father in law was a resident here. The nurses an CNAs were all very sweet to him. The staff seems like a close family and work well together. The room was clean. The food was excellent and there was plenty of activities for him to do. When he was in therapy, the therapy team treated him with respect and patience. I would highly recommend the Hermitage!
Great facility with friendly, caring staff. Had a family member there for a short period of time and we could rest easy knowing they were getting the care they need.
My mother first went in for rehab 11 months ago & is now a resident . The care provided by the staff at Hermitage has been outstanding, especially during the quarantine. If problems arise with medication , issues, or general health, communication has been excellent. Prior to Covid, their weekly activities kept patients busy and interactive with each other. The improvement in my mother's condition since she entered has been unbelievable ( suffers from mini strokes)As an only child, it definitely has made the necessity to make this transition less guilt ridden for me. I can't say enough positive things about the entire staff & their care they give to their patients.
This facility treats you like family and has excellent rehab and nursing outcomes. They have 32 private rooms for short term rehabilitation. The food is prepared fresh daily and is really good. There are several activities to enjoy throughout the day, from traditional things like Bingo to Happy Hour on Thursday.
Residents are given excellent care and rehabilitation services. Would recommend this to everybody.
Staff is amazing! Care, communication and execution of care plan were amazing. Above and beyond.
The staff took such great care of my grandmother during her stay. Everyone was very friendly and always prompt when she needed anything.
This place is great at taking care of their residents. However, their employees another story. There was a new employee working her 90 day probation. The employee got a migraine and was throwing up but still was working. The nurse in charge told the new employee to go home because of her migraine. Well the DON called the employee and charge nurse in the office and fired the new employee and suspended the charge nurse for a week. I guess the DON wanted the employee to work in between throw ups and the charge nurse really isn’t in charge of anything. Thank you
Hermitage represents it's Sacrad six in all aspects
I had the opportunity to witness the 5 Star Quality in action this week and walked away very impressed with the staff and leadership here! It was also great to see the patients and staff engaged in a friendly decorating competition for Christmas.
diaper changes are pleasant
