Maplewood has been a blessing to our family. Even though we had a hard time having to place my aunt in a facility, placing her at Maplewood gave us great ease. We knew by placing her here at Maplewood she would get the greatest care. The activities department is always doing fun activities with the residence and getting them involved, which my aunt loves. They most recently had animal day and a prom for the residents. I was able to attend both and was able to bring some of my baby goats for a visit. The smiles on the residence faces warmed my heart. I love how they encourage family involvement with your loved ones. I would recommend this facility to all my family and friends! You guys are amazing!
Maple wood is a wonderful place to place your loved ones. My uncle is there he loves it there. He loves the outings with activities. He loves the activities that they do. He shows us the cute things that they made. He smiles a lot. He seems to enjoy being there. Thank you Ladies for making the residents life enjoyable. You do a wonderful job.
My wife recently spent her last five days of life in the care of the Maplewood Nurses and staff. She was treated with great care and attention. I highly recommend this facility , and I want to thank everyone there for exceptional care and kindness that was shown to her , and her family as well. It was much appreciated.
Unspecified 路 February 2025 Please do not send your loved ones here. This place is absolutely horrible. Everything about it is awful from the food to the nursing staff to neglect. It鈥檚 not clean. The sink in the hallway doesn鈥檛 work leaving you no where to wash hands after using the bathroom. The staff are rude and not nice. Ever. It was the absolute worst experience for my family when the VA placed my dad here. The fact that the VA continues to contract with them is sickening. Our war heroes deserve so much better. Save yourself a lot of headaches and SKIP this place all together. It was absolutely horrible.
My grandfather was placed here after having been denied nearly every place in Kentucky due to his condition. Landmark was one of two places that accepted him. These Google reviews lead us away from here and my grandfather ended up hurt at the other facility within an hour of being there. I wish we had been here the entire time. As someone who works healthcare - you know when someone is there for a paycheck and someone is there for the patient. I can say that every person I came in contact with was there for the patient. I do want to shine a spotlight on a few staff members in particular. Dallasteen (RN), Norma (RN), Tasha (CNA), Heather (CNA), Samantha (Admissions Director), Sue (Door Shark) and the night shift staff who cared for my grandfather. The facility itself is an old hospital, so yes, it's an old building but it's clean, well staffed, and the fact that it used to be a hospital meant it had all the safety precautions built into hospitals that most facilities do not have. My grandfather was not able to do physical therapy but I saw them working with patients constantly. The care our family received was more than one could hope for. I never thought in a million years we would be faced with placing my grandfather in a home, for those of you reading this review - it was the hardest decision of my life.... I have no regrets about his last days being at Landmark. We were there daily so we got to know the staff and they all care SO much. I know there are some scary reviews on here, but if your loved one is in the position that has lead you here reading this, please call them and go visit beforehand and you'll see, the staff knows everyone (patients included) - heck I even got to know a few! "HEY!" Was one of the happiest hellos I received by one patient every day. I'm not going to say names. Anyway, please don't hesitate to call them.
Thank you to all the staff at landmark for being such amazing humans. 馃挏 Love never forgets.
Unspecified 路 December 2023 Got a call tonight from my 98 yr old aunt crying because no one would answer her call bell for over an hr. I called the facility and no one answered me either for 1 hr and 45 min. I finally called Lancaster City Police to see if something had happened at the facility. They knew of nothing but were gracious enough to call them as well. They didn't get an answer either. They were kind enough to send an officer to check it out. The officer did call back to let me know my aunt was fine and being taken care of. The facility still isn't answering the phone. I called my aunt back and still no one had been in to change her diaper. This place needs new management top to bottom. Next time I'll call the State Police and Channel 18 News.
Unspecified 路 September 2023 They don't deserve any stars. Landmark of Lancaster refused to accept or acknowledge the Durable Power of Attorney that my Father signed to me. On three different occasions this facility called the Lancaster Police Dept to come and harass me when I questioned the lack of care by their facility to treat my Father. Landmark of Lancaster REVOKED my Durable Power of Attorney while I was in the hospital stroke unit while I was recovering from a stroke! My Father has Alzheimer's, dementia, and mood disorders due to their own doctor's in house diagnosis. My Father is incapable of advocating for himself. My friend took me to visit my Father yesterday and we found him laying in filth. He had thrown up on his clothing, bedding, and had a nasty diaper. When we finally got someone to come help us help my Father his diaper was full of feces that were actually stuck to his raw bottom. That's when we discovered the large irritated bedsore on the base of his spine. I've been trying to move my Father out of this neglectful facility for the past five months. Actually the maltreatment of my Father and myself is what caused me to have a stroke. If you want your parent or loved one to experience "living hell" then the is the perfect place. Otherwise take your loved one to a facility that will actually care for your loved one instead of viewing them as a dollar sign.
This facility has some very dedicated and loyal employees that has worked at the facility for many years. These employees consider the facility like home and they take great pride in caring for their residents.
