Reviews
for Rockcastle Health and Rehabilitation Center
They were great to help me in my room, the O.T and P.T staff was really good these people worked hard with me to get me ready to go home. I will miss them but i am glad to be home now.
I was very impressed with how clean this place is. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Love the home like environment that the building has. Everyone is always so friendly and helpful.
Best of the best! Highly recommend
Completely amazed by the wonderful caregiving at Rockastle Health and Rehab. We always get a warm welcome when we are there and made to feel just like family. Thankful to have a wonderful home for our loved ones.
This home is very clean . Staff is very personal and friendly. Care is good along with Activities as well .
The place is clean, and the staff is friendly. They took good care of my mom and made sure she had what she needed. I'm pretty happy with the care.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would because that is what they deserve. They performed absolutely zero oral care on my father leading to plaque buildup of at least an inch and a half as he is NPO, let him lay in his own mess even when he rang his call bell, never turned him which caused a pressure wound to form, tried to bully my mother into making him stay instead of leaving with hospice which screams Medicare Fraud and allowed an abdominal wound to dehisce when removing staples. If you love your family do not send them here. My dad rapidly declined in the EIGHT days he was admitted and I wish more than anything we would have went anywhere other than this sorry excuse of a facility.
my mom was in their nursing home care for more than a decade, the nurses dropped her, broke her hip, lifted her up and broke both her shoulder blades (she didn’t have any kind of bone deterioration or illness before or after) and it took months for both to heal, they didn’t properly wash her so she got armpit and vaginal yeast infections, the nurses claimed she was difficult when she was a 70 year old woman who couldn’t move on her own anymore, had dementia and was the sweetest woman, she bragged on all her nurses even though we knew what was happening, she didn’t understand what they were doing to her and i couldn’t remove her from the facility because it was all up to my dad and honestly we didn’t have the physical capabilities to take care of her. she died a few days ago, they didn’t warn us of any signs which i guess i can’t prove they knew, and now i don’t get a chance to see my mom and say goodbye again. i will resent this place for the rest of my life, her nurses made her last days horrible as far as i’m concerned. if it was up to me she’d have an autopsy done to ensure they didn’t do anything, rockcastle health needs to evaluate their nurses and keep an eye on them and how often they talk poorly about their “waste of air” patients, i was 12 when i heard them call my mom that, anyone who let this slide while aware of it should be entirely ashamed of themselves and carry the guilt i do.
We had the worst experience at Rockcastle. The rooms were outdated, old and smelly. They looked like rooms out of a movie about mental health institutes. We were not happy with the care given to my dad. He was not given medicine correctly or the way that he was supposed to have them. The nurses and most of the staff llacked basic knowledge of nursing care. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE HERE TO DIE.
I am only giving a star because it made me. The experience we had for just a few hours was inappropriate and abusive for my husband. Jeff passed away 2 days later. This nurse was so rude, did not give him his meds, and threatened another employee to NOT take his BP manually. He actually said to her.. "I refuse you to take his BP." He also was very hard to understand his English.
Do not bring your family member here their turnover rate is over 100% they have very limited staff and they tell you that you have a account but very rarely give you any money to buy anything to drink they yell and scream at the residents it's absolutely the worst place that you could ever bring a family member to
One of the most rewarding places that I’ve ever had the opportunity to work at. It’s “family” like environment between stakeholders and residents is truly special.
I have been in many facilities over the years since the sixties, I have never been treated as well or had nicer staff take care of me.
Everyone makes you feel so welcome! Staff are great and really care about the residents.
This was not a good experience for my husband. He was sent there for rehab and even though the rehab was good, the rest of the care was not. He was in their care for 4 days and developed a fever. I believe the fever and other issues were caused by the lack of care. During his stay he never recieved a bath and I was asked to go home and get his meds the first night, because they didnt have them and wouldnt until the middle of the night. The area of the building his room was located in was very run down. He shared a bathroom with the next room. And was told that person in the adjoining room was under isolation because of a lung illness!!! When I found out he was running a fever, I requested he be taken back to St. Joe Main in Lexington and the Ambulance Co. would not transport to any other facility than the Rockcastle Hospital. I was told by one of the nurses that their patient/Nurse ratio was 20 to 1! Because of the lack of care, from Rockcastle Health and Rehab, my husband spent 8 days in the hosptial. I DO NOT Reccomend this facility.
All the staff was super friendly and provided excellent care. Thanks to them I am going home!
My daughter was at this facility for many months and have to say they did took good care of wounds that she had after a surgery. But the wound care Dr. said she was not supposed to leave until completely healed they discharge her with a wound located on her buttocks. She had a very hard time getting the medicine that was prescribed to her some of the nurses even told her she didn't need the medicine and would make her wait.there was also times when she needed the aides to assist her but had to lay and wait for them I was very disappointed in their staff.
Rockcastle county is a very good rehab. My mom was there for 3 weeks and I must say everyone treated her well. The nurses were fantastic and fell in love with my mother.

Cleanest facility I have been in. Staff takes great care of their residents and always strives to meet their needs. I would recommend this place for anyone that is looking for a skilled nursing facility!
Rockcastle Health & Rehab is my second home. My co-workers and residents are family. Everyone works together as a team to make our residents our first priority. Wouldn't work anywhere else.
This building is the cleanest and best kept facility in the surrounding areas. The staff here is always friendly and willing to help. Best place around to bring you're loved ones and family! Rehab department is amazing. This building is just over all amazing from the Nursing staff to the Housekeeping and Dietary Departments. JUST AMAZING!

There elevator keeps beeping and they have a leak in the ceiling. I think they need a new maintenance Crew
My uncle is there and has done so well! He really enjoys visiting with all the residents. Love the closeness you feel when you walk in the home.
First, I am a Registered nurse and my 92 year old mother is in Rockcastle Care and Rehabilitation. She has been here for 2 weeks. Her room is private, so it is small, but is ample for our needs. The environment is clean and safe. There are church services, singers that visit, group games and professional hair care. There is a dining room and the food is good. Visitors can eat in the dining room with their family or in the room for only $2.00 per meal. There are rooms for families to reserve for private activities. They have several pet cats that wander freely through the halls and rooms to visit. They also have pet therapy groups come in and encourage families to bring the resident’s pets to visit. This rehab center is absolutely wonderful. They respond to requests and concerns within minutes. They always ask if there is anything else we need, before leaving the room. Their nurses, techs and housekeepers are always knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The medical staff are quick to respond to changes in mom’s presentation. The physical therapy department works hard with mom and involve her care providers in the therapies they can continue in her room. The speach therapy department made a referral immediately on admission. We had a life planning meeting the day after she was transferred to their care, to plan her care with all the different departments who are working with her. They listened and have followed through on all requests. I would highly recommend this place.
Seemed like nice and professional staff
I can not exspress how wonderful this place is the staff went above and beyond with my mother i never had to worry about her and they were so good to the family as well .Thank you all so much she loved all of you .
Just was informed that my mother in law was laying in soiled depend at the max of 2 hours. Fecus was on both her hands. She is in rehab for a broken hip. Maybe a new patient should be checked more often then two hours. This happened on the weekend, maybe lack of management or more laxed work ethics. Not a good first impression
Gave elderly father only bologny and chips. When he asked politely for chicken or something else they snarled "We don't do that here go somewhere else". Never helped him. Cared for him. He lost 10 pounds in a week. No patience at all. I was glad to take him "somewhere" else.
They are loving here.
We were so glad to have Rockastle Rehab to turn to when my grandmother became ill. The staff there was well trained and provided excellent care for her. The people working there were kind, courteous, and for the most part always patient and thoughtful. Most of them took care of her like she was their grandmother, too. That made it so much easier for us to leave her, knowing she was in good hands while we couldn't be with her. The physical therapists worked wonders with her, they had her exercising more than we had been able to get her to do at home! She enjoyed the various activities, especially the outings, and she made many friends there. The one thing she did not care for there was the food, but then nothing in the world compares to home cooking. The place was always clean, the staff was awesome, and I know they took great care of my grandmother.
