Reviews
for Sanders Ridge Health Campus
Memory Care From day one, our experience with Sanders Ridge has been disappointing and, at times, distressing—especially when it comes to management, transparency, and the so-called “BFF” (Best Friends Forever) care model. When I asked for memory care pricing, I was handed a torn piece of steno paper with four room numbers and different prices. There was no brochure, breakdown, or formal documentation—just vague references to room views and proximity to the nurse’s station. We paid a hold fee for a memory care room and were told we could move belongings in after it was cleaned. Later, during an unprepared care meeting, we were informed my loved one could not go to that room due to needing more than one-person assist. Her condition had declined, making memory care services irrelevant. No one explained that placing her belongings in the room would convert the hold fee into rent. This was only resolved after multiple follow-ups. She now resides in a rehab hall room, but we are still charged memory care rates—despite her not receiving memory care programming or cognitive therapy. Her condition does not allow her to participate in such services. We have not received any formal pricing or explanation of what the room rate includes. Each month, unexpected and undocumented charges are added to the bill, including fall mats (used because bed rails are not allowed), oxygen machines (not used), wound care (not ordered by a doctor), wander bracelets (for non-ambulatory residents), and dining transport fees. There’s no transparency or prior notice. Charges seem to appear without explanation. As her primary caregiver, along with a paid sitter, I help with feeding, dressing, and other support—but we do not do everything. This raises important questions: what care is the facility actually providing? Is she being encouraged to eat or at least drink the protein shakes we provide (not the facility)? We’ve seen no evidence this is consistently happening. The facility promotes a 'BFF' approach that claims to foster connection and familiarity with patients—even nonverbal ones. In reality, most staff appear unaware of my mother’s history, personality, or preferences. Some nurses and aides go above and beyond, and many of the working-class staff—like maintenance and dietary—show compassion and effort. However, not all do. Leadership has been largely disorganized and unresponsive—with the notable exception of the Director of Nursing (DON), who has shown more competence and care than the rest of management combined. We are a private-pay family, yet receive none of the clarity, consistency, or quality that should come with such a financial investment. Medicaid/Medicare residents receive flat rates, while private-pay families are charged piecemeal for everything—often without delivery of service. To date, there is still no written outline of what services are included in the base rate or what levels of care cost. Everything is verbal, handwritten, or unverified. If this review spares even one family from experiencing what we have, then it serves its purpose. Ask every question. Get everything in writing. Don’t be persuaded by philosophy without proof. Your loved one deserves dignity, and you deserve transparency. ****response from Sanders is to reach out to them, they have been multiple times and still do not present room rate charge sheets defining what is included, much less ancillary list. Ancillary’s are just added, billing does not ask or notify. **** Provide requested information(simple task) then the discussion might happen. The room this week had major mold issues so much so she had to be moved to another room
As a husband to see my wife come from Sanders Ridge very up set from the disrespect and the way upper management has run her around and never has a straight answer on any of her questions regarding room rates or billing everything was hand written or ill have to get back to you still no brochure on these rates we have been to 2 other elder care facilities and both had a list of charges based on leaves of care this stared back in may 20th to June 17th my recommendation to anyone trying to take a family member here pay very close attention to your bill for over charges but note most staff is wonderful and caring
My father was in Sanders Ridge for 17 days. They treated dad as if he were family. He loved everyone there. They all did awesome job. I highly recommend this rehab facility for future rehabs. If he needs another stay in the future we will definitely go back.
We had a great experience with every aspect regarding my father's stay at Sanders Ridge from check in till his passing. Is a wonderful facility. Highly recommend. Thanks for taking such good care of my father.
I spoke with Bri, the Director of Sales at the community, and she was beyond helpful! I would recommend reaching out if you are interested in the community's assisted care options, because she was wonderful to work with!
Sanders has been on the most patient and best care providers I've ever seen.
My mother-in-law is at Sanders Ridge Health Campus. It's a great place. We've had no problems whatsoever. The facility is clean and new. Everybody is just wonderful. They have restaurant-style dining if you want, but they are bringing it to my mother-in-law's room since she's in rehab. They have game night, movies, bingo, and crafts for them to do if they want. Every so often, they have family night, and we are allowed to come and be with them for dinner. It's just been wonderful. The staff members have been very good. They've taken very good care of her. My mother-in-law calls them quite often. She enjoys the food. She said it was good. It's a beautiful campus. They have services on Sunday for those who want to attend church, so it's very nice.
My client was left soiled 90% of stay, I was there to help with meals, they claimed to help but did not. Went to Don, no help and has attitude! Got a bed sore, fell out of 🛌 bed! Made a trip to hospital. Second talk with assistant Don, NO HELP! I told them I would back off and them care for him. He wore same clothes 3 days, seen 3 residents fall and 1 choked on meat! 😡
Such a wonderful place for loved ones! Lots of friendly, compassionate, hard-working employees, and I mean EVERY ONE!! ❤️ Always treated my dad with respect, and I’m sure that was hard to do at times! Truly a blessing for him and his family. Would never consider anywhere else. I love them all. 🥰
Wonderful place with wonderful people. I have a family member that lives here in memory care. It is a great facility. She enjoys her time there. She enjoys going on her outings and doing fun things with her friends that she has made. If you are looking for personal care assisted living or memory care, or even skilled nursing, give Sanders Ridge a call or take a tour.
My grandpa is here and they are so kind to everyone who is here
My mom moved into the Sanders Ridge Health Campus. It was the closest to our home. It's a new-looking facility. They have friendly and knowledgeable staff members. The rooms are nice and modern, with cable, WIFI, windows, and outside views. It's well-maintained. My mom enjoys the food and the variety of the menu. It's nice quality, has good food, and is enjoyable. They have various entertainment that comes in. They do bingo and arts and crafts. They have outdoor activities where they take them to various areas. My mom goes to any of the musical events they have. They have happy hour on Friday evenings. They have music and an ice cream social activity.
Amazing facility. We love our grandmother being there. Keeps her active and full of fun, love and activities!
This is a nice physical facility. Food is OK. They checked me for bruises upon arrival and next morning. A bit degrading. Staff responded to the call button but no intercom system to acknowledge the call. Bed control buttons were on a cord which was too short and not anchored. Kept falling on the floor. Bed in hospital much more comfortable. Waited 3 hours for a blanket and 9 hours for pain medicine which had to be ordered upon my arrival and did not reach my room until after 3:00 AM. No towels or wash clothes in the bathroom. I get it. Generally nice people. Seemed to be caring. But I left within 20 hours of arrival. Felt like I was a managed human commodity for a profit with risk reduction and liability minimization the first priority. This was my first experience with a rehab center. It could be relatively great compared to the other options. I would consider this place again after a full understanding of what I was getting into. If you are admitting a loved one I can't emphasize enough to be fully engaged.
Please do not put your family member or anyone you know in this facility. It is NOT what you see or hear about. I am not a disgruntled employee, I had a family member there and it was an awful experience. I am only writing this to let people who are seeking a facility for a family member/friend to go elsewhere, you'll be glad you did.
Beautiful campus!!
