Seneca Place

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Seneca Place. They cared for my uncle for the last year and two months of his life, and every single person treated him with kindness, love, and dignity. The staff truly loved on him and made him feel like he was part of their family, which meant the world to all of us. The director was absolutely amazing and always went above and beyond to help in any way she could. During such a difficult time, Seneca Place made everything so much easier with their compassion and support. We will always be grateful for the love and care they showed my uncle. Seneca Place was truly a blessing, and I am so thankful he was able to spend his final years surrounded by such wonderful people. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

This place is a joke. It's loud the workers argue with each other in the hall ways. The food is terrible,cold never what is on the menu. Rice is served every day every meal. Workers slow to respond to patients.

Everyone was so pleasant and friendly and took really good care of me! I even made friends while I was here. I would recommend anyone that needs a place for rehab to come to Seneca Place.

I don't know why this place has a 3.9 star rating. My mother was in that place for almost a month, and it was a horrible experience. Let me first mention a nurse aide by the name of Dakota. He, for sure did his job and did it well. Everytime I would see him I just knew that my mom was going to be ok as long as he was there taking care of her. Can't say that for anybody else. I just felt like she didn't get the care that she deserved. The whole entire time she was there, she never got that many linens for her bed nor any towels or washcloth. I wanted to wash her bottom one day when I realized that you have to let the water in the bathroom run for at least 30 minutes to get hot water. You put her light on for help and it took a long time for anybody to come in and help her. Me and my sister was up there almost every day with her, and they would never hardly give us updates on what's going on with her. It was just a horrible experience. When her Medicare discharged her because her Medicare would no longer pay for her to stay there they just put her in a dark room. Bed beside a wall with no window and broken tv. When we arrived there, her diaper was soak and wet and sheets as well. It almost looked like a jail cell room. Very sad especially when it's your loved one. We just decided to take my mom home and take care of her the best we can. My mother had a stroke and can't move her whole left side and physical therapy didn't hardly work that much with her at all. If you care anything about your love one's make sure they are in a facility that's going to give them good care. I really think that they need too work on having a better staff of people who really care about the patients instead of their pockets. I would not recommend this nursing home to anybody. Total nightmare.

From the nurses to the aides to the support team, everyone works together to create a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment. It brings so much comfort knowing your loved ones are in a place where they are not only well taken care of but also truly valued and loved. I highly recommend Seneca Place to anyone looking for quality care and a caring community.

The people here are so rude. All I did was call to ask some questions before I sent a family member here for rehab and they treated me like I was incompetent for asking a simple question. Meanwhile, there are people screaming in the background and you can’t hear a word they’re saying. I didn’t even make it past the phone call to look at the place.

Mom was in hospice care and it was hot in the room - Nurse Kim shared her personal fan to make it more comfortable. She checked on our family regularly and genuinely cared about what we were going through. Dakota was an incredible aid - gentle & kind - took time and listened to the family's needs. Wonderful caregiver.

Seneca Place is a great facility, led by a strong and dedicated leadership team. After achieving an almost perfect survey and being nominated as one of the most improved buildings, it’s clear that the team has worked hard to elevate the standard of care. However, it seems the facility may be stepping away from some of the traditions that made it truly stand out among other Louisville facilities. One of those traditions was the annual Thanksgiving turkey giveaway, which many staff—especially direct care staff—looked forward to and depended on. It wasn’t just a gesture; it was part of the culture and appreciation that made Seneca Place feel like family. Hopefully, leadership will take this into consideration and bring back this meaningful tradition next year, continuing the great work and positive culture they have built.

Awful. Food was bad. They were very rude with my grandmother at times. Heating issues repeatedly. Best I can say is she survived. How ever it is clean.

Some of the aids are HORRIBLE!!!! They don’t bathe the residents like they are suppose to. They run & hide, to avoid taking care of the residents. They steal people belongings. It’s a NO for me. I would NOT refer anyone to this place.

I've come a long way to recovery but I didn't get there alone. If it wasn't for the care of the trained staff at Seneca Place who brought me from a wheelchair to being able to walk on my own two feet again. God only knows where I'd be.

Whether it's the care provided, the quality of the food, and not forgetting the amounts of activities for the lovely residents and this 2 ladies treating them as family, the or the overall environment, this nursing home excels in every way, making it a truly outstanding place for loved ones to call home.

This place was horrible for my father. I could never get a hold of any one for a care plan. If he needed help to get to the bathroom they would tell him just to go in his diaper. This time we chose a different place and there is no comparison. This place should be shut down.

Not enough staff. Patient care needs are compromised by too little staff.

My father was in there had to remove him from there do to poor employees never check on him he would push button and it would take them at least 30 minutes or longer! They dont have enough staff to attend to there patients or staff is just lazy. Was there to get rehab but they would do rehab maybe once a week. He would ask for tea of juice with his meals and they would only bring him milk

This facility is nasty ! There’s roaches , bugs , spiders all over patient rooms !! . KAREN HR !! doesn’t care about her staff !! I was in need of a schedule they told me they’d reach out the next day NOBODY EVER DID !!!! It’s been days .. this was last week !! I hate this place j I better get paid

I had the opportunity to tour Seneca Place recently as well as participate in the many events that they host to make this place feel like home for their residents. Top notch care - I would definitely consider sending my own parents here.

I came to be a patient and a resident of Seneca Place Nursing Home due to a severe head trauma. The excellent staff made me feel welcomed with open arms. The superb care that they showed me helped my speedy recovery and physical rehabilitation. I highly recommend that all senior citizens looking for a five star residence to live out their golden years to consider Seneca Place Nursing Home.

I was here to visit a person I consider being like an sister to me. We needed a CNA to change her clean the bed I was here over 4 hours or more . First when I walk in she was hanging off the bed not knowing how long so I got three ladies which was here after their break came and fix her in the bed after I asked them to. Now it's very late someone needs to clean her.

This is the perfect place for a senior citizen to live. Nice friendly people and lots of activities to occupy your leisurely time. I highly recommend that You and your love ones choose Seneca Place as your retirement home.🤗

I liked the admissions and therapy team. I love the activities department, Yahtzee and Bingo was my favorite.

If zero stars were possible that is exactly what I would give this facility. There is an extreme language barrier. The kitchen staff is disturbingly rude to the residents. The staff generally ignores the residents until they see fit. I could go on and on about this building but I don’t think any of us have time to sit here. My grandmother is currently a resident there for rehabilitation and I hear a new concern every single time that I come up there. I understand being short staffed but that is no reason to ignore or mistreat people. And furthermore, if you’re understaffed maybe it would be best to stop accepting new patients. Then I don’t see the professionalism in telling a patient they complain too much or ask them what they want now. That’s just blatantly disrespectful.

If I could rate this place at 0 stars I would. Seneca place in Louisville Kentucky is horrific. My grandfather was there for almost 2 weeks and had a terrible time. This place is severely understaffed. This place is suppose to be a rehabilitation center. Far from it. Huge language barrier. One staff member at night and residents told if there were to poop at night they wouldn’t be changed until the morning. My grandfather needs to be fed by the staff and the staff refused to feed him. When he needs any sort of help, the staff ignores him. He hadn’t had a shower since he’d been there and there response was because they are short staffed; if short staffed then why take in new patients. A commotion was heard in the hallway of a husband yelling at staff due to his wife lying in her own poop for hours and they refused to change her. This place needs to be shut down.
