Reviews
for Signature Healthcare at Heritage Hall
My mom has been in for rehab for 3 plus weeks. I know she loves everyone in rehab (who I have not officially met) and always talks highly of the ones I have met and seen her interact with- Nurse- Cindy and the RAs- Rachel and Jill. Thanks to all the staff that make it happen who I have not met or the other names I don’t know.
Such a lovely place with a home like environment! The DON and CEO are very involved in the care and ensure everyone is receiving the best!
My Morher is here and she loves it here , the only problem I have with this place is the food ! They should be putting some love in the food but unfortunately maybe a 1 star in food services, Nursing staff is great to my mom and that's all that matters but they need a new cook
I would leave a 0/5 star review but unfortunately that is not an option. DO NOT PLACE YOUR LOVED ONE HERE! My grandpa was a long term patient here and suffered a stroke on a SUNDAY and was left untreated for 5 DAYS until he was sent to the hospital on FRIDAY. As a nurse who also works in long term care in Illinois, there is ABSOLUTELY no excuse to not notice stroke symptoms on a patient with a previous history of a stroke/TIA. He presented with slurred speech and a facial droop on TUESDAY (possibly sooner) and yet still nothing was done by staff. Pure NEGLIGENCE by the nursing staff which has now resulted in a significant decline in my grandpas quality of life.
I would not have given 1 star but had no choice? It should have been a red flag when My loved one was in Alot Of pain upon arrival from Frankfort Regional Hospital and staff had no records "supposedly" to treat them? After a overnight stay there body was really retaining fluid and face red "hot to touch" again asked if they checked vitals maybe blood pressure was high etc was then told "We don't check vitals on weekends?" Blows My mind to write this?? There health was deteriorating! They were only there for rehabilitation on a broken bone? Long story short we lost this beautiful sole after only a few days!! My Loved Ones are still in complete shock! So I pray for anyone needing services for a loved one to research everything look for the red flags that we overlooked but now seeing! Don't go by others opinions? Protect your loved ones! Love them unconditionally and make sure they know that!
I suffered a burst T-12 spinal fracture and a compression fracture of L5. When I arrived I was unable to walk on my own. Only 5 days later, I went home completely able to get around and take care of myself. Their advice, therapy and all around attitude gave me the skills I needed. I can't say enough about how impressed I am.
I love the team here! This home is clean and smells amazing…. Everyone is smiling and appears happy. This is an amazing home. Highly recommend!!
Toured last week and felt very comfortable with placing my Mom here. The Director of Nursing and Administrator both introduced themselves to me, and were very helpful in my decision. The staff were pleasant and smiling. Clean atmosphere and beautiful campus.
My grandpa was at HH and he received the best care!
Moved my mother to this location, she is 93 and wanted to get out of her wheelchair and walk again. The staff and therapy team worked together to get her out of her wheelchair and walking with a walker in less than 3 weeks. Great staff and therapy team!! Recommend to anyone looking for long term care!
My father in law got excellent care!
Very clean building and very personalized care!
Taking great care of Grandma
Be careful. Read Facebook about nurse who works there. Abusing residents. Drunk at work. Morphine syringes in her backpack. Administrator refused to call police. Allowed it to happen
Checked my mother out of heritage hall yesterday the staff tried to say to me that the doctor and social services would have to be contacted before my mother could leave I said no she's leaving emmediatley began packing her stuff out as the conversation was happening .we didn't make it a minute down the road and I called them about her pain meds and within that minute someone had already stold her pain medication I was told there's no medication here so what does that tell u please don't take your loved one somewhere like this they'll do worse if they'd steal pain meds
the whole experience was excellent. treated like family in every aspect. the rehabilitation department was the best.
My mother was in Heritage Hall Health & Rehabilitation Center. It's a rehab/nursing home type place and they were good. I liked it. It was kind of a nice, peaceful place. I like the facility itself. The only thing is where she was (it's a nursing home also), she was not too far from the floor where the mental cases were and there's a lot of screaming at night and stuff like that. That was tough on her. She had her private room and she liked that. It wasn't too bad. It's just some nights were worse than others. They couldn't help that, but you could always ask for another room. The staff was great. We didn't have any complaints. They were helpful because Covid hit a week after she got there. We had to just visit her through the window. They were great. I don't remember her complaining about the food. They had one dog there and everybody just loves him. They took her to physical therapy.
What is not to say about SHC Heritage Hall. My mom was there for a short time. They helped her so much. They had there hands full, but the love and patience they showed her was awesome. Rhonda Whitaker always has Wonderful food for the patients. If they don't like it she will fix what they like. Misty and Pat in Activities ROCK it out!!! God Bless you all.
Heritage Hall is exceptional at the service they provide. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. They truly care about the work they are doing and take wonderful care of the people that need them the most. The facility is clean and extremely well kept. Thank you so much for all you do, Heritage Hall! I wouldn’t trust my family with anyone else.
The employees take very good care of the residents. The residents are in a safe environment and they enjoy all the activities that are provided. If you have any concerns the director is always available to talk with you.
Heritage Hall has been so beneficial for my family and the care of my loved one. The staff is super friendly and they make you feel like they are actually a part of your family. I feel confident in the care they give and know they have nothing but the best of intentions for my family. They take the time to not only get to know the people living there but they develop meaningful relationships with the family as well. The atmosphere is excellent and the keep those in their care at the forefront of everything they do. I would recommend Heritage Hall to every family out there. You can trust them and know that they are giving the best care each and every day. I appreciate everything they do and I know others do too. This is not just a nursing home or rehab facility. This is home.
Heritage Hall is a beautiful home with staff dedicated to exceeding all expectations. Elders live happily in this family-like environment where they are offered an abundance of fun activities, exceptional therapy, and opportunities to learn and grow each day. Keep up the amazing work, Heritage Hall team!
The went to go take the tour and I had gotten someone that was new. She was not very knowledgeable, but she was very pleasant and helpful. My only real concern was that the community did not have any private rooms. I also know people here.
My mother has been at Heritage Hall going on 2 years now. The facility is great in many ways. It offers activities for the residents that live there. Such as bingo, the red hat club, church services, arts and crafts, seasonal celebrations. It is the cleanest facility of this kind that I have ever been into. I have never smelled urine or feces. I know that's a gross statement. But so true in many facilities that I have gone into. They truly care about the patients and love to tease and kid around with them. They call is your family member falls, gets a cut, gets a med change, or anything that happens. They also have a hair dresser that can do your family members hair weekly. She does an excellent job and truly cares about the patients. They have a care plan conference with family members to discuss the family member and any concerns that the family may have. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone who has a family member that is considering long term care. I'm sure there are many more positive comments that I could write, but just can't think of them right now.
My father has been a resident since 1995 and I have been his primary contact/guardian. Overall the facility is kept clean and it is rare that you smell anything bad. They are usually understaffed however and the time spent with patients is not enough on most days. High turnover for aides. Most of the nurses are good but could use more training. The doctors however are less than good. They seem to be more about prescribing medication that will keep the patients calm so they don't have to tend to them much. I would guess this would be due to understaffing. This is most unfortunate for residents whose family members either don't visit or are uneducated as to what is going on with their family member. The staff and doctors try to lead you to believe the resident's health is just deterioating due to age. The nurses just follow the doctors lead and don't challenge them when they should or at least they should contact the family if they think the doctor is not acting it he patient's best interest. I'm sure it boils down to being afraid of losing their job for some of them and others are not educated enough to know better. At one point they had my father on several phychotropic drugs which were unnecessary for his condition and just about killed him. After much research and several hospital stays we were able to find doctors outside the facility who called the nursing home doctors out on what they had done and my father was taken off all of the drugs. Fortunately, we caught this in time and my father was able to regain his health and has remained healthy since. His primary care is given to him by offsite doctors and the nursing home doctor is only allowed to make changes or assessments with the family's permission. Unfortunately, most of the residents do not have family members who take this kind of action with their family and the resident's quality of life is diminished and often dies prematurely. This nursing home is rated one of the better ones in the state which is an unfortunate statistic for so many of the residents in nursing homes throughout the state. Because we as family members keep a close watch on our father the nursing home knows we will not tolerate these behaviors and the care of our father has improved. They do allow him to call me whenever he wants to and overall his disposition is good. I truly beleive this would not be the case if not for the constant threat that they know we will hold them accountable for any wrong doing. The kitchen staff is very nice and they do their best to accommodate my father's wishes for meals while keeping in with his dietary requirements. So the rating is a 3 because the staff is decent and they keep it clean. It would be lower if based on the administration, doctors and the corporate headquarters. The activities director has been there a long time and is very nice and caring as well. I only reccommend the facility if the family members are willing to take an active roll in the care of their loved ones.
