Reviews
for StoryPoint Louisville East
Staff is very helpful and friendly. One bedroom apartment is approximately 500 ft.². The best thing about it is it has two single door closets plus 1 three door closet.
Facility, staff etc all very good but price is still very expensive for seniors on a fixed income.
We like them a lot. Good caring staff, nice well-maintained facility, nice residents, reasonable costs, pretty good food, good activities. We have had solid overall care for Mom. We've had a few challenges, naturally, but nothing major. One definite downside is that they have just one elevator. Overall, we've had very good experiences and Mom is happy there.
StoryPoint Louisville East was recommended to us as an active and supportive senior apartment community for my 69-year-old brother, who is somewhat disabled following a stroke. We recently moved him into a ground-floor studio apartment, whose rent includes utilities, internet, cable TV, and three cooked meals per day. He is extremely pleased with not only his apartment, but also the cable TV lineup, the "excellent food", the other residents of the community that he has met, and the friendly, capable staff. Staff worked hard to get his apartment renovations completed as quickly as possible, and have been very responsive to our various requests. We are also pleased with the variety of activities offered and services available to community residents.
Due to frequent staff changes, the food and food service quality varies greatly day by day. They have had ongoing maintenance/elevator issues that have taken a lot longer than they probably should have. They were bought out last spring and they have had multiple manager changes since then. They have had a hard time keeping staff in the food service and cleaning. And when I say elevator issue, they had been having issues, had the elevator rebuilt basically in November with ongoing issues until some final Parts came in last week. And they only have one elevator in the building.
I have a lot of friends here. I met my 2 best friends here. I enjoy the activities they do. The management responds quickly to any concerns.
This place is comfortable, friendly we take walks around the building in the hallways and visit our friends each day. We feel accepted and that really means a lot.
I really love everything about this place. The residents and staff are amazing. The people work here def enjoy their job. The food is awesome!
I’ve only been a story point Louisville East for the past six months. There’s been a lot of upheaval with changing and management and so on. We’ve been promised a lot of things by the new management from story point. The only thing is lotta talk no action. Things are going downhill instead of going uphill. The food is food getting worse instead of better if you like cold food for dinner and supper come here you’re bound to get it. Also Also cleaning now cleaning our rooms only happening once every two weeks if you’re lucky. They’re short staffed which doesn’t help. They’re always taking house cleaning staff to work in the cafeteria because I can keep no one there if I could find a place better I’d probably move.
Clean, nice facility. Staff is friendly. Residents are friendly. Food is only so, so. We were told a new chef had been hired. The food is not chef quality. The menu will say ‘baked spaghetti’ but they will serve a pie of spaghetti with some sauce on top and a sprinkle of orange and yellow cheese. Yesterday, the vegetables at lunch were just all the vegetables from earlier in the week mixed together. They need to do better.
When I needed to get a real id in order to visit relatives in another state, I needed help to obtain the necessary certificates (birth, marriage, ect) a staff member assisted me.
I like living here, everyone is very helpful. I have had a very good experience here. The staff is very helpful and friendly. With new management I can see everything getting better everyday. I like living here.
The food does not meet standards for well balanced meals. The chef is using recipes she's never tried before and they seem to run out of food frequently. Even basics like coffee. They are replacing the elevator and there's no way to get residents from the 2nd and 3rd floor out without carrying them in some fashion or calling the fire department. Meals are being delivered and what they ordered from the provided menu are not being delivered. I called and left a message for the GM or AGM and still have not received a call back yet. I cannot recommend this place yet.
Great people! Staff 5 stars!
Poorly Ran, New management company is not good.
The staff is very caring and supportive. Very nice rooms with utilities, cable, and meals included. Activities and field trips are offered. [name removed] is my family member's favorite staff member. She is always willing to help solve any problem that may arise.
I wrote a check at the end of July to pay for August and it has yet to be cashed. I provided banking info so that future payments could be taken right out of the bank. The September payment has yet to be deducted. The invoice I received at the end of August was not itemized and was for over $[removed]. I called that day and left a message. I saw the assistant GM the following week and asked about it and she said the wrong invoices went out and new ones would be run. It has been almost 3 weeks now and no one has called me back and I have not received a revised invoice. Shortly after my mother moved in, the general manager was terminated. I believe the next one has now left and a new one starts in October. A new chef has been hired so hopefully the food will improve. I am told the sales person has left as well. When I go there twice a week I see the assistant GM and occasionally the activity director but no one else. There is seldom anyone at the desk.
We have been here a year and we really like it. We think the staff is excellent. [name removed] does a great job here.
Holiday Oxmoor is now story point Louisville East the name change hasn’t changed too much yet. I’ve been here now for for about 2 1/2 months, my experience so far has been that the people are very nice. The staff is very nice. The residence are very nice making a few friends story has changed a few things but basically for the best better the menu has changed a little bit, but they’re still serving three nice meals a day, I moved from a house with 3500 ft.² to a room with 500 ft.² gradually adjusting to it but so far everything is going well. I’m doing well.
The staff is super friendly and the residents are mostly nice, too!
My mom moved to StoryPoint Louisville East. They have good amenities. They offer them three meals a day, and they have plenty of activities to do and also offer rides to doctor's appointments two days a week. I had lunch one time, and it was good. The apartment is pretty spacious for senior living. She has a kitchenette and a one-bedroom. The maintenance has been very specific to her needs. They have a chapel, a beauty salon, outdoor patios, and game rooms. The facility was very clean.
It is a wonderful place to put your loved one and you feel good that they are in a place that is like home. The only problem I have is the variety of food. What they have is good but it is repetitive. Need to switch it up more or have more options.
It was a nice facility. We thought it would be a good fit for my brother. They have a very nice dining room. They have a private chef. The rooms were adequate. They have a library and game rooms. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and answered all our questions.
Oxmoor is too high for what they offer. They keep raising prices. Initially it started out great and then declined. I think they try to good but just don't have together yet. Also, it appears they have a high staff turnover which is concerning.
My loved one is a resident at Holiday Oxmoor Lodge and overall the experience has been poor. The janitorial/maintenance staff is good. The rest of the staff has been okay to poor. They have major staff shortages and frequent staff changes, particularly in the dining room and kitchen. The value for cost is poor.
We love the location, 3rd party therapy on-site, and the meals. But we are less pleased with the issue of under staffing, the apt cleaning not as frequent as promised, and often slow to respond to requests.
I've been here over 7 years and I love everything about this place. The staff is great the entertainment is great, Activities are fun. Really good food. I really enjoy all the different stuff we get to do here and all of the people that live here are really nice
I really enjoy living here. Very nice place and I love my 2 bed room apartment. Everyone here is very nice to me. They offer lots of stuff to do here. I made lots of great people her. Love the stream in the back
the staff is nice
Staff, for the most part, is amazing. And I witnessed an issue one weekend, communicated it with the management, and it seems to have been resolved. The only issues that we really have had have been some lack of communication from management. Housekeeping is good and the move-in process was smooth. I would say 90% of the meals are really good, but Mom has found a few that weren't so great. I would and have recommended the facility to others, and trust me, I'm picky when it comes to my mother.
I've bee here for almost 3 years and I absolute love it here. The people who live here and the staff are so wonderful and friendly. I love all the activities we do and all the places we get to visit. The food is good and the staff is outstanding.
I love my room very, Great layout. Close to all the activity's and dinning room. Food is good, different stuff all the time. I love they have snacks out all day. The Staff is amazing they are so caring and very hands on with everyone. They are the highlight here. I also love that we have different activity's housekeeping and transporting when needed. Everyone is great here
I’ve been here 3 months and I love it! Everyone is very friendly and feels like home. They are also pet friendly. The food is good, The staff is great and everyone cares for everyone here. I definitely recommend anyone to come here
I really enjoy it here
I've been here for about 5 months now, and it has been great, I was very nervous moving here because I didn't think it would feel like home, But boy was I wrong. Its like living in a big house with all of your bestfriends. Everyone welcomed me with open arms. I love spending the day with all of my friends and the staff. We do so much here from dancing to bingo or arts or crafts, even bible stuff and that's importin. I'm very blessed to to live in a place like this
They work hard to provide fun entertainment for us. THEY Alwasy help me when I need help, Thank you oxmoor for always going above and beyond for us here
I really like activities here especially bingo the staff is really friendly too
The current residents spoke very highly of the place! I would recommend to others.
I have family there and the staff there has been so amazing!! Definitely thank for this amazing place!
We don't like Holiday Oxmoor Lodge for our mom . They told us one thing to get our mom in about the transportation and then said that they never told us what we re told about transportation. Then the food is not good sometimes cold and the pizza was dry and would not feed it to my dog. They need to have better meals for the amount of money people pay in that place .
Overall very pleased. Areas for improvement: Need a new hairdresser! Someone to answer the phone when calling. Make sure residents know when their food is delivered and not leave it sitting outside in the hallway. Have more consistency with the dining room staff. Maintenance is slow to respond. Had 3 weeks to get the apt ready before she moved in(was paying rent in during that time) and she's been moved in for 4 weeks this Saturday and they still have one more thing to fix.
I had an in-person tour here. The two ladies were excellent. They showed me around. They were very knowledgeable, friendly, and smiling. It's a beautiful place. I would recommend it to anyone. The refrigerator was kind of small. There's no stove. You have to bring your own microwave. For one person, it's good. They have plenty of space on the inside. It's really roomy and very pretty. It's a good setting. I would love to go there.
It was very nice. It's like individual apartments and they had different sizes with little kitchenettes. They had three floors and very nice dining rooms. They had a workout room, a laundry room on every floor, and a nice area outback with a big screened-in porch as well as a patio with nice furniture out there where they could sit. They had a caregiver on site to help with meds or anything like that that they needed, but they're mostly independent living. The staff was very informative, very helpful, very kind, and just did a great job.
Everyone is very nice and friendly. They are quick to fix any problems that arise. When we moved in the hot water in the bathroom didn't work and the frig didn't work and they fixed it in one day. Very nice people. It is expensive, but we really like the place. The size of the apartments are very reasonable with a lot of closet space.
Basically they are weak on care, can't provide service reliably. Meals not too tasty, not a lot of activities. I was in a rush and they had specials running at the time. It was randomly done. The staff was friendly.
Experience has been average. Entertainment below average. Food above average Management excellent. Would recommend.
I Love it here and all the staff is amazing, they go above and beyond.
My experience with this facility has been good so far. I'm still adjusting and getting comfortable here, but the staff has been very helpful. They're good about noticing when things bother me and working with me to make changes as needed. They're very concerned and friendly. Housekeeping is almost always available and will come and clean when I ask them to. The food is pretty good. The activities are nice. We have a good variety and there's something going on everyday. Communication with the family is good also. I would recommend this facility to family and friends.
I toured this community twice, once by myself and once with my loved one. They changed the price and tried to use a hard sell tactic of you need to sign up now before the price goes up even more....that was a big turn off.
Our family had an in person tour and the lady who met with us answered all of our questions and addressed other issues I needed to be concerned about as mom moved into a new phase of like. I really liked Oxmoor as it is an independent living facility and mom liked the idea of continued independence but her rapidly declining health didn't afford us the opportunity of there services .
