Reviews
for The Bungalows at Bowling Green
Love this place! The staff is great. The residents really like the people working there. They have a fun activity department. I went into all of the assisted living facilities without notice and this was the most welcoming place I went to. The residents were happy! My mom is gonna love it there!
I am updating this review due to some things that have changed. I do activities on Mondays through my organization and I asked for gas money from the Bungalows. I have not been paid since May because the staff is constantly changing. I went in yesterday, Monday, and found out that one of the employees that I enjoy had been fired for unknown reasons. This employee has been keeping things running since most of the management has left. The residents are paying good money to be served and that is NOT HAPPENING because corporate will not do their part. I am adding a comment. I finally got paid for one month but have yet to be paid for the others. As far as calling the number you listed, no one ever answers the call and there is no way to leave a message because the mailbox is full. I just want to be paid for the work I did.
The staff has gone above and beyond. The food is good, the atmosphere is even better. It's a great place for the elderly to live. I would recommend to everyone in need of such a place.
The Bungalows is a beautiful facility with a very caring staff. The minute you walk in you can just feel the cozy atmosphere. Combine that with the delicious smells coming from the kitchen and it just feels like you’ve come home.
The Bungalows of Bowing Green is a top tier assisted living community! The cheerful staff and the up to date, and beautifully decorated, building provide a homey atmosphere. Residents have access to activities, entertainment, and there is even a NP who provides primary care services for those who don't wish to travel. The Bungalows provide independent living with the added security of knowing that your loved one will always have a hot meal, warm bath, and plenty of friends in both the staff and other residents!
What can I say? The building is beautiful, the staff genuinely care for their residents, and overall, it feels like a fantastic environment for the people who call it home.
The Bungalows are a great place for anyone looking for a active senior community. The apartments are very nice and the building is beautiful. There's pretty flowers in the courtyard and a big magnolia tree. There is also plenty places to sit and enjoy the scenery. The inside is really nice too. Also it is one floor. So there's no steps to worry about in case of emergency. The living room is comfortable and there is plenty of activities done in there. You are also allowed to have pets. It's a nice place with great staff.
I use to volunteer at the Bungalows about once a month. It is a great little community with lots to offer. The activities department does a lot with the residents. They always have something going on. The food is great and the dining room is really pretty. The rooms are set up nicely and there is lots of room for storage and things like that. It has an absolutely beautiful court yard and it's very well kept. There's pretty flowers that the residents tend to and there is plenty of places to sit. There's pretty flowers is a big magnolia tree in the middle of it. When it blooms it is very nice. The people seem very happy. I loved it when they would gather around the piano and one would play and some would sing! I would recommend the Bungalows to anyone looking for a retirement community that is active and dedicated to the people who live there!
The Bungalows at Bowling Green have lots to offer the assisted living community. With beautiful scenery surrounding the building and a big welcoming front porch to sit with family and friends. There's lots of different activities to do. Not to mention some of the best people in Bowling Green call the Bungalows home! It's very clean and well kept. The dining room is spacious and comfortable. The atmosphere is pleasant. The apartments are clean with plenty of room. The community is one level so you don't have to worry about steps if there was an emergency. The staff know the residents and have relationships with their families. It's an all around good safe place.
My father moved in to the Bungalows in Bowling Green about six months ago. He was grumpy and made it very clear. He did not want to be there. It took him a little while to come out of his room and explore his new environment. Now he participates in activities, and even watches movies with his new friends in the livingroom. Before now he only watched the news and a few day time court shows! His depression is under control and loneliness is gone. He genuinely likes being there and likes his neighbors. The activities keep his mind busy. The food is good and the building is really pretty! The staff are really great too. They really seem to care about the people and that means a lot! They have party's and recently held a Fall Festival for the residents. They had ponys, food trucks, and bouncy houses for kids. The residents were outside interacting and it really was wonderful!
My father is a resident of the bungalows of bowling green. He loves it there. He has made friends and has become very active since being there. The food is good and his apartment is spacious. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a home away from home for their aging parent.
Love this place! The residents always look happy and content. The rooms are spacious. The building is beautiful and always smells nice. Mom is always doing activities and has made so many new friends. The staff are the best! They are so helpful and supportive.
I toured this facility with my mother, and this will be where she goes when it’s time. The rooms are spacious and very, very nice. The building is beautiful and well kept. There was a lot of Activities going on. The staff was really nice and helpful. The dining area is set up well. The food menu had a lot of options. Everyone there looked happy and content. It was nice to pull up and see people sitting on the front porch with smiles on their faces.
We had my mother at the bungalows of Bowling Green. Before she moved there, she was a shut in and rarely left her house. She didn’t interact with friends and was depressed. After moving there, she got involved with the community and made friends. She was the happiest we had seen her in years. It’s a small community everybody gets along very well. The staff is amazing. The building is beautiful and it is very clean. The food is delicious. There are tons of activities to do if you want to participate. There is something for everybody. I would highly recommend the bungalows of Bowling Green.
We had my mother at the Bungalows at Bowling Green until her level of care changed. Before she went into the bungalows, she lived alone and rarely left her house. You might would even call her a shut in. After about three weeks of living at the bungalows, she was a different person. She made friends, and her depression was practically gone. She became very active. She was always doing something from baking cookies with the activities director to sitting on the front porch with her new friends waiting for bingo to start. The staff are amazing! They spend quality time with the people that live there and treat them like family. I highly recommend The Bungalows at Bowling Green Assisted Living! I saw the difference it made in my mother‘s life.
The Bungalows at Bowling Green does a great job keeping their seniors active and involved in the community. They participate in making crafts multiple times a week, have card games and play bingo with WKU students a couple times a month. The people their interact with one another very well and are welcoming to newcomers. The rooms are clean and spacious. The dining area is beautiful, and the menu has many options to choose from. I had a wonderful time when I stayed there. I only left because I wanted to be closer to my daughter in Georgia.
There was nothing I liked least about The Bungalows at Bowling Green. I just think that the other place would be a better fit for my friend. The staff was friendly, and the residents were enjoying each other and talking to the staff. It's a very beautiful place. I like that they have a model place where a person thinking about staying there can come and stay for a night or two to see how they would like it. It was wonderful. The interim director traveled from another town where he has the same facility. He knew all the residents there. He called the names of everybody who passed by. He was very friendly. The rooms and the layout were very nice. Their dining area was very nice and accommodating. Menus were available and they had other options.
The Bungalows is very clean, well-maintained and comfortable. The staff really seemed to care about all of the residents. The smaller facility size and simple layout makes it easy for people with disabilities to navigate. Mom did not want to move to assisted living, but she absolutely loved it from the first day she moved there. It helped that it is a pet-friendly place. It is as affordable as any of the similar facilities in town.
An absolutely stunning community with an amazing staff.
Beautiful community with a great team who love their residents and enjoy what they do. Small environment to truly know one another and give person centered care
That it is a good place for your loved one. They seem to know what they are doing.
The Bungalows at Bowling Green is my new home. While I would rather be at home, this is the next best place. The staff and residents treat me like family. It is a quaint and cozy environment which makes it easy to find my way around without getting too tired. There is always something to do and my family visits me daily. They do my laundry and help take care of my dog too. The Bungalows is the right choice for me for sure.
The Bungalows is a beautiful facility that feels like home when you walk in. It’s has a real community feel, with many opportunities for residents to interact and share meaningful experiences. The staff is very caring and seeks to meet the needs of the residents. My parents have been treated like family there , which has given me great peace of mind.
My mom loved living at The Bungalows of Bowling Green! The only reason why she moved was because her health care needs changed. The cheerful, homelike atmosphere makes the facility stand out compared to the other assisted living facilities we had toured. The facility is very well maintained and always looks clean and smells fresh. Mom loved the food and the activities there. The staff at The Bungalows are wonderful! They really cared about my mom and worked hard to get to know her and meet her needs. I like it that it is a smaller facility, and ALL the staff knew mom and the family members too. They do each resident’s laundry separately, so they did not even lose her clothes the way other facilities do. A hairdresser comes weekly to do hair in their in-house hair salon. The size and simple layout made it easier for mom to navigate. The Bungalows is the only assisted living facility I could find in Bowling Green that not only allows well-behaved pets but would also do the pet care my mom could not physically do. The fee for pet care was worth it, since my mom was so attached to her dog. Her apartment was very nice, with just the right amount of space. Mom enjoyed the view outside her window where she could watch the white squirrel and the birds in the trees. When looking for a facility for your loved one, keep in mind that it is an Assisted Living facility, so in-house nursing and medical care is not in the facility’s scope of practice. As long as there is not an urgent or daily medical need, home health can be used to help with nursing needs and therapies. I HIGHLY recommend the Bungalows for individuals that need assistance with some of their Activities of Daily Living.
Selecting a home for my mother was not an easy thing until I visited The Bungalows at Bowling Green. The Director and the entire staff are so kind, caring and loving. Small quaint environment with many activities planned daily. Feels like family to my mom and to me. I visit everyday and have nothing bad to say about anything, and I am super picky about everything especially when it comes to my mom’s care. The staff is super responsive. When making this tough decision, I highly recommend giving the Bungalows at Bowling Green a visit.
The staff at The Bungalows are wonderful! They really care about my mom and work hard to get to really know her and meet her needs. The housekeeping is satisfactory. The facility always looks clean and smells fresh. Communication with the family is excellent. I can talk with the resident assistants or administration anytime I am there. I like it that it is a smaller facility, and ALL the staff know mom, and the family members too. The move in process went well. We brought mom to the facility about an hour before the movers were to come and load her things to be moved from her house. The staff welcomed mom with a delicious lunch, and they got her involved with an activity she enjoyed while we were moving in her things. Mom loves the food there. However, she has no appetite, and it is difficult to find foods she will actually eat. My only suggestion for improvement, taking into consideration that this is an Assisted Living level of care, would be to have a van with a ramp to make it easier for residents that use walkers to board the van for transportation to medical appointments and/or community activities. I highly recommend the Bungalows for individuals that have minimal health issues. The only drawback to the facility is that it is Assisted Living, and there is no medical care that is easy to access 24/7 within the facility. As long as there is not an urgent medical need, home health can be used to help with nursing needs and therapies.
The Bungalows at Bowling Green was very nice. I liked the little inner garden that they had there. I liked the way it was laid out where you really can't get lost because it's just one big circle. There's no security and I talked to them about that. My question was, "At what point would you want to remove someone with dementia?" The staff said as long as they're not roamers. Her concern was that they get out on the road. As far as having dementia, it didn't seem to be a problem as long as they didn't roam around. I liked the garden area. They are growing seeds and some stuff out there that the people like to see grow. It was a very nice place to go out and sit if you're into nature at all. The rooms were very nice. I could very well see my uncle being there. It's one of the considerations. The dining room was nice. Everything I've seen looked very good and clean. I just met the one girl and she was very nice. She has called me since the visit. She gave me a couple of meal tickets and told me to just give her a call, and we could set that up, so I thought that was very nice.
The Bungalows at Bowling Green was too small of a community. The way they had the dining hall and everything set up was nice. The staff that we met was very nice, very pleasant, and easy to get along with. They had a courtyard outside surrounded by the building, and it looked very nice. Some of the common spaces had access to that. We saw the food menu, and they had nice options to choose from.
We went to the Bungalows at Bowling Green. The tour there was really nice. It was nice and bright. They were doing some renovations on the carpet, but the people were really nice and everything. The only drawback there is that you have to be a little more independent. So, you have to be able to get yourself everywhere, and to go down to the dining room to eat, you have to be able to push your wheelchair all the time, versus in the other place where they'll help you get to the dining area and stuff like that. So, it was a little different for that, but it was very nice.
Best kept secret in Bowling Green! The staff is amazing! We love this place.
This facility is understaffed, residents are treated poorly, and the communication between staff is not great. As someone who worked here a very short period of time as much as I loved the residents I couldn’t stand to watch them not be properly cared for due to the lack of staff and miscommunications about the residents medical needs. I wish all the residents the best. Just too update I did email the executive director to let her know about the concerns in more detail
Our family had an in person tour with The Bungalows and the food looked really good here. And the tour was very good. We could not move here because she needed some additional assistance than that community provided.
The Bungalows at Bowling Green was excellent. The people were very good and friendly. They explained everything well. They had a lot of what we were looking for in my parents. They had a variety of rooms, like two-bedrooms and one-bedrooms. They were doing a few activities in small groups when I was there.
Since this facility was purchased by Phoenix Senior Living and became “The Bungalows” it is under staffed, poorly managed, residents neglected. All they really seem to care about is collecting money. When our family member was removed on Thanksgiving night 2022 she was admitted into the hospital so weak from malnutrition she could not hold herself up. The facility showed no concern but continues to bill for the following month while she was hospitalized due to their lack of care!
My mother moved in at The Bungalows at Bowling Green in December. The day that I started trying to call and check in, everything started happening so fast that I couldn't keep up. After I went out there and saw the place and talked to the people, I liked everything that I saw. They had a room available beside this lady that we knew from the neighborhood. And I thought that would be a positive thing for my mother, to know somebody right beside her room. Everybody was very nice and very helpful. They have different programs. I was present when one of them was taking place. There was a group from the church and they played the piano and sang, and it was just really good. I think those kinds of programs are good for their residents. The staff has been super nice, and I've got no complaints. I know it's a tough job, and it takes special people to do that kind of work. I ate breakfast with my mother and it was fine.
The most undeserving facility in business for the elderly. But especially for the the staff that care for the residents. This facility is suppose to be ASSISTED but because the love of money superceeds the welfare for all involved has become a nonlicenced nursing home. Certain staff is treated less than equal to those who are favored by management.aremanagement t
This was a nice community tour and the staff were good to answer our questions.
The Bungalows at Bowling Green was a little bit better than the other place we saw, as far as more comprehensive memory care and assistance in transfers and all that. We were able to look at that one a little bit closer because they have some of the things that we need. I didn't have any objections to what they were providing. They had brochures, and they gave me a complete tour of the facility. They were able to show me a room, and I'm very, very satisfied with the staff there. I saw the fitness area, activity room, and hallways and rooms. I was very satisfied with the upkeep. I didn't see any problems there at all.
We had a great tour with The Bungalows. The reason we did not choose them was because we could not get a good breakdown from the staff about the levels of care that they provided. Their price was also about to increase. I felt she would have gotten good care here, but we needed a detailed list.
Due to COVID the activities are now limited, but beforehand they would play cards games and bingo, they would even take the residents out on little field trips around the community. They also had family night once a month where families could come and eat meals. the food they served was very good.
Great staff especially Sue!
Awesome place, Mom enjoys being there. Staff are so caring, helpful and devoted. Thank you for all you do for Mom!
Morningside of Bowling Green has the friendliest staff. They are all so warm and welcoming! I highly recommend them!
I love Morningside! This assisted living facility is so active! The wonderful staff provides many events for the residents as well as the community at no individual cost! Stop by for a list of upcoming events!
It wasn't a locked down facility, so my dad was escaping a lot because he suffers from dementia. I have had no issues with it, but he gets out of the building and they thought he was a danger to himself and the others, so they asked us to put him in a different facility. His room was adequate sized, but we furnished it ourselves. The staff was fine. They have a patio and a library.
I like the culture here, and good diversity, not just in the staff. There is a sense of encouraging people to be active but not forcing them.
That staff is great! So helpful!
The staff is AMAZING!!
Very lovely, my mom works here. Love the residents there, they're all so sweet.
Wonderful place! Love visiting!
