Reviews
for The Lakes of Paducah
I cannot recommend The Lakes of Paducah enough! As a senior living community, it has been an absolute blessing for my aunt, whom I moved here from Florida. From the very first inquiry to the day we moved her in, the entire process was seamless, professional, and filled with genuine care. A huge shoutout to Laura Torino for her incredible support during this transition. She went above and beyond to make sure my aunt felt comfortable and welcomed. She answered all our questions, helped us navigate the move from Florida, and provided resources to make the process as smooth as possible. Her kindness and dedication truly made all the difference! The community itself is beautiful, peaceful, and well-maintained, with amenities that cater perfectly to seniors. What truly stood out to me was how quickly my aunt felt at home. The residents and staff are so warm and friendly, and the activities and social opportunities have helped her build new connections. It’s such a relief to know she’s in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment. For anyone considering a senior living community, I highly recommend The Lakes of Paducah. The level of care, attention to detail, and overall atmosphere make it an exceptional choice. Thank you, Laura, Cassidy, Peggy, Stacy, Gloria, and the entire team, for making this transition so positive for my aunt and our family!
Choosing an assisted living home for our loved one was not an easy decision. We toured multiple communities but once we toured The Lakes we dropped out of any other option. The Lakes community is a beautiful place with gorgeous views and very friendly staff. From the moment we got on the waiting list we felt like family. Mrs.Laura continued to reach out giving us updates on our status and she supported us emotionally as these transitions are never easy for any family members. Once the miracle finally happened and a room became available our work started. Moving a loved one from 900miles away is not for the weak. 😅 Shuffling for 4+ days from hotel to hotel until finally making it to The Lakes. We were exhausted. As our loved one walked in for the first time the employees rallied together to greet us and express how happy they were to see us. (You never realize how much something like that means until you’re in it.) We even had a welcome basket filled with goodies, greet us when we entered our room. It’s the little things that make a big difference. All the staff; Mrs Peggy at the front door, from Mrs Stacy in the dining room to the housekeeper Mrs. Gloria.. they all made our family feel very welcomed from day one. I cannot thank The Lakes enough for giving us this amazing love while we navigate these difficult times.
Moving in soon. Laura & all the staff have been incredibly welcoming & helpful! Looking forward to living there!
My Mom likes it there . Very nice and clean surroundings. Food looks and is delicious ! Staff treats her well and she likes many of them . God Bless them all .
The Lakes of Paducah is a wonderful place. Our Mom is in the memory care unit and they love her as much as she loves them. They are very passionate and kind and patient with her. Everybody that works there is GREAT!!! We choose the best place in Paducah for our Mom and we can rest everyday knowing she is being took care of in the best possible way. They keep them active everyday which is good for her memory and body and with the unit being small, we know she gets the attention she needs. She is not just a number. The Lakes of Paducah is the BEST:)))
The Lakes of Paducah is an outstanding place to live and my parents love living there. The staff is friendly, understanding, and accommodating and show genuine care to the residents. Additionally, the food is excellent and even pleases my picky father, which is saying something. Finally, my parents really enjoy and look forward to the community activities, as they are well thought out and well-run. I was generally apprehensive about my parents moving out of their house and that concern has been eased by the outstanding staff, from top to bottom.
The staff is so friendly and down to earth. You can tell they truly love working there. They always have activities and outings planned. There is something to do for everyone. They especially seem to go out of their way on holidays to make the residents feel engaged and loved. The facility is warm and inviting and always cleaned to perfection. The food is absolutely outstanding. Sometimes they post pictures on facebook of what they are having. If you want your loved one to be treated like family this is the place!

My 90 yr old mom moved into a beautiful apartment at The Lakes of Paducah 4 weeks ago. I have been so impressed with absolutely every aspect of this facility. Every staff member has been very helpful and encouraging as my mother made this emotional move from her home of 40 + years to a senior community. The grounds and building are stunning. Her apartment is sunny with views of the woods behind the building. Mealtime feels like you are dining in an upscale restaurant with delicious food and wonderful service. An unexpected benefit has been how friendly and welcoming the other residents in the facility have been to my mom--reaching out to help her feel included in the many activies offered there. My sisters and I live out of town. It has been such a relief to us to know that Mom is in a safe place where help is immediately available should she need assistance and that she has daily socialization with others. Mom still misses her home, but this week said "I don't think I could have found a better place to live than here." I agree with her.
Mom had been living alone for about six years, so we were thrilled that Mom chose The Lakes of Paducah to be her home. The Lakes of Paducah checked off all the boxes that she was looking for, and moving could not have been easier. We took a tour of the facility and found it beautiful, well maintained and friendly. Laura took the time to show us the different sizes of living units and all the amenities. We were impressed with the “home feeling” of each area. The first thing we noticed was the grand piano. Laura told us it was there for everyone to enjoy and that residents would play, as well as people from the community who entertained several times a week. The common areas and halls were decorated with comfortable sofas and chairs. The walls had pictures that finished the elegant look. Every area of The Lakes was clean. I cannot express how important that was for Mom. Laura showed us the dining hall that served three meals a day. There were ten to fifteen tables set up for four people. Each table had a menu and silverware wrapped in cloth napkins. There were servers who waited on the tables. Laura showed us the River Room that is used for larger groups. The day we took the tour, there were ladies playing cards. These residents stopped playing and talked with us. They were very nice and were excited about Mom possibly moving in. We were impressed with a beauty shop and an exercise room. On the 2nd floor we found The Barkley Room, an activity room with tables and chairs, where the residents had just finished painting. Upstairs also had a pool table and poker table. The balcony has several rocking chairs to sit and enjoy the lake. On this day, there were geese on the lake and a man was fishing. We were greeted by residents who were mingling in the halls and going to activities. Laura gave us an information folder to take home and review. Before Mom and I returned to the car, we knew this was going to be her home. That same afternoon we contacted Laura for an application and a date to register. The paperwork was easy to understand and fill out. If we had a question, we called or texted Laura. It was only minutes before we got an answer. The application packet covered everything from hobbies to allergies. Laura informed us that in 2 weeks a unit, would be available. Everything was falling in place! Now Mom has a very nice apartment in a very prestigious facility. She has met some very nice friends with whom she can socialize and have fun. It’s hard to say what she enjoys the most…she loves it all! There are some people who work at The Lakes of Paducah that made the transition easy. Laura is always available to help in every way she can. Her smiling face and friendly greeting is always genuine. Sam, the director, has an open door policy. She and Mom talk frequently, not only as resident-to-director, but as friends. Leslie is the activities director. She has the most fun things planned. I never heard of Wine and Popcorn, but Mom doesn’t miss it on Wednesday. In fact, Mom doesn’t miss any activity. Matilda is super. She cleans Mom's apartment every Friday. She washes and changes the bedsheets. She vacuums and dusts Mom loves the fact that she does not have to clean anymore. Brian has been a big help. He hooked up all the electronics. He’s even replaced light bulbs. Mom requested his services and he told her when he would be at her apartment... And he was there at that time. I know Mom was added to his list, but he makes it more personal. He made her issue a top priority. Chef Alex is amazing. He prepares a wide variety of healthy meals. The meals are delicious. It's like eating in a restaurant every meal! There is a group of employees that work hard every day. I see them doing jobs in the dining area, helping residents take packages to their apartments and staying awake all night in case someone needs something. Tyler, Erika, Jacob, and Carlee - A big thank you for taking care of my momma. In my own way, I am a little jealous of Mom. She has found a perfect home at The Lakes of Paducah.
Some things truly are meant to be...And finding my beautiful Mom's new home and community at The Lakes of Paducah this past April was one of those things. From the moment my Daughter and I toured with Laura we knew we had found the perfect spot for our MeMe and we looked no further. The facility itself is breathtaking. From the outdoor space to the inviting bistro area, it was perfect. But it was the people we encountered and their smiles that confirmed our choice. For my Mom it was knowing she never had to cook again! The daily gathering for meals allowed new friendships to develop and activity schedules to be coordinated. Allowing my Mom to share her Faith thru music and Bible Study was particularly important to her. She loved singing along with the talented pianists who brought the Baby Grand piano to life most every day. Laura, Samantha, Peggy, Ron, the Entire Lakes of Paducah Staff and All the sweet Residents, you are now forever family to us and the wonderful experience you created for my Mom is a treasured part of her legacy. Thank You from the depths of my heart. I highly recommend The Lakes of Paducah to anyone considering a new, loving home for their family Member. It truly is a special place. I write this review in Loving Memory of Gean Frances Bryant.
Review from current lakes of Paducah Resident Don Carrell---- "I have lived here one year and am very satisfied. I highly recommend The Lakes. The staff are friendly and caring and take care of all our needs. After my wife died I did not know how to cook and did not want to learn how to cook. People say that moving is hard, but living alone is hard too. " Don Carrell 4/3/2023
Earlier this year I visited several assisted living facilities searching for the best place for my sister who needed a little extra care but remain as independent as possible. The Lakes of Paducah is absolutely beautiful. The front porch and views are very inviting. Inside the staff and residents make you feel right at home. My sister moved there about three weeks ago and is really enjoying meeting new friends, joining daily activities and the food is excellent. Special “Thanks you” to Laura Todino and Cassidy Parks for helping to make our decision and transition much easier. Jackie Conn
My mother moved into The Lakes on August 29, 2023. We toured several and my mom as well as all of her children agreed on the Lakes it was just so warm and welcoming. We as her children now can feel very good that our mother is getting the assistance she needs while continuing to be independent as possible. Big shout out to Laura Torino and Cassidy Parks they have made this transition so easy and comforting. Selina Beck
It was a bit of a whirlwind romance, but my mother-in-law fell in love with The Lakes very quickly on our first visit. Within 10 days, she was moved in to her apartment and starting a host of brand new friendships. The helpfulness of the staff continued after the move and I couldn't be happier with the ongoing communication and responsiveness. A very big thank you to Ms Laura and Ms Samantha.
The Lakes of Paducha is a beautiful facility. The staff and residents are so welcoming. My parents and I toured the facility back in January and decided, when ready, we’ll definitely be moving my parents into this location. It’s super clean and offers so many wonderful amenities. It’s a park like setting, so if you’re looking for a place to put your loved ones… you will know they are safe and secure here! Thank you for giving us a lovely tour!!
I have visited The Lakes of Paducah countless times! I love to visit this place! It’s such a nice place!!! I normally go out and provide fun activities for the residents to enjoy on my free time, each and every time I visit The Lakes of Paducah I am always amazed of how friendly the staff is and the cleanliness of the facility! If you are searching for a place for your love one to call their home away from home then The Lakes of Paducah is the place for them to be!!!!!!
Caring staff, patient and knowledgeable.
I highly recommend the Lakes of Paducah. It is a gorgeous facility with literally every amenity that you can imagine. Even more importantly, the staff are simply the best; they are always friendly, courteous and willing to help in any way they can. Sadly, my mother no longer lives there; she's in a nursing home now. Several members of the staff from the Lakes of Paducah have visited her (multiple times) in the nursing home and that has meant a lot to her (and me too). If you are looking for a senior home for your loved one, you simply will not find a better place - or better people!
My Aunt has been here 4 years. They do a great job of helping her in a caring and loving environment.
I toured Lakes of Paducah Senior Living. The facility was more like a hotel kind of thing. It was very nice and modern. I saw the apartments that they had for independent living. The kitchens are small. They have a refrigerator and a microwave. The square footage is only 500. The staff that took me around was very helpful, friendly, and open, and answered all the questions. She told me some things I didn't even know I needed to know. She was very personable and very knowledgeable. Lakes of Paducah Senior Living is on a lake; it's a man-made lake. There's a walking path. It's a nature kind of setting, even though it's in the city close to everything. Some apartments had sunrooms, and some apartments had a screened-in porch, but there were no outside entrances. There is only inside coming and going. They are pet friendly, so you can have pets. The only drawback I saw was that there's no outside entrance from your apartment. It's only two floors, which is great. They've added some new units on the ground floor. They have patios, they have a nice gym, and they have a nice family area where you can have parties with your family if they come. The dining area was really pretty. It didn't look like an institution.
This is the most beautiful facility and accommodations one could hope for. The staff is attentive and caring, meeting residents needs on an individual basis that allows them to live at their highest levels of independence and quality of life with support and assistance when needed. The community is like a family, and as a regular service provider within, I would not hesitate to trust them in caring for a loved one.
From the fist time me and my mother stepped into The Lakes we felt like welcomed guests. The facility it top notch, but the thing that sets The Lakes apart is the people that work there. They genuinely care about the residents and go above and beyond to provide the greatest of care. I could not be more pleased with where my mother is living and she absolutely loves being there.
The Lakes of Paducah is a beautiful place! Everything is always very clean and well taken care of but nothing compares to the wonderful, loving staff!! Everyone is very helpful and seems to enjoy their jobs. Kindness and helping people live life to the fullest is what they are all about!! They have great activities planned everyday, I would highly recommend The Lakes of Paducah!!
My father has recently moved to The Lakes of Paducah and from the first day we walked in to The Lakes, we have been VERY impressed. The staff and employees are friendly, helpful and always available. Staff and residents have been gracious to make sure dad has felt welcome and included. There are planned activities, social events and impromptu gatherings. The shuttle is available 2 days a week for appointments, residents can go to the grocery store once a week or The Lakes personal shopper will pick up anything that is needed. All of this PLUS the apartments, building and grounds are beautiful, well kept and inviting. Our family and dad have been very happy with The Lakes and encourage you to take a tour. 😊
The Lakes of Paducah and their ENTIRE STAFF are absolutely terrific. We moved my Mom to The Lakes a couple of weeks ago and from the first time we stepped into this beautiful facility, we were greeted with friendly smiles! Everyone went out of their way to help us in any way we needed. Laura and the entire staff continue to help and make Mom's transition easy! If you are looking for a GREAT PLACE for yourself or a loved one, this is the place to start. I only wish we would have moved my Mom sooner!
Outstanding facility. Management staff genuinely cares and acts and follows up accordingly.
I knew from the minute I walked in the Lakes last November my father needed to be there. It took some convincing, but it was the best move for both of us. He loves it there. The staff is SO caring and they truly care for each and every resident. He enjoys the food and has even gained about 10 pounds! The new activities director is full of exciting ideas. Dad loves the bingo, church and bible study. I think his favorite is the Wednesday "social hour" ;) Mostly, myself and other family members are glad he has a caring and safe place to live. Thank you Lakes Family! You have been a blessing.
We recently moved my mother into the Open Arms Memory Cary Unit at The Lakes of Paducah. She is so happy there. The staff has been absolutely wonderful to work with. They keep her busy with activities and the food is really good also. They have been a blessing to our family.
The Lakes is a beautiful facility. The staff has been beyond kind and professional. The food is very good and the staff very accommodating. My parents love the location of their apartment and feel safe and taken care of. We are very thankful for such a wonderful home for our parents. And so are they.
There are no words to convey how happy my mother is living at The Lakes of Paducah. The accommodations and the surroundings are beautiful and the staff go above and beyond to meet all of her needs. There is nothing they haven't thought of and they are constantly asking what more they can do. (She is even allowed to have her two Pomeranians.) This is truly a hidden gem and the only regret I have is that we didn't know about The Lakes of Paducah sooner. Thank you Bob, Laura and all the staff for taking such good care of the residents and making my mom's life so much easier.
Lakes of Paducah Senior Living is a beautiful area. It's got lots of green space. There's a couple of lakes on the property and they have a nice little screened-in porch area for my in-laws as part of their unit. They have a sit-down dining every day for three meals, where someone comes over and takes your order, which is nice. It's a very intimate setting and not real large, and Paducah is a small town, so it's just a very friendly atmosphere. The person that we met with who was in charge of placing people was great. There's a lot of different things that they do for the residents. They have a one-bedroom deluxe that has a little small kitchen space, a nice living room with a screened-in porch that goes right off the living room, and they can watch birds and all kinds of stuff because there's so much green space around. They have a nice walk-in closet, a bathroom with a walk-in shower that has a little bit of a step up, and lots of grab bars which are good for elderly people. It's a very safe environment. They have a few different meal options. If you don't want what's on the lunch menu, they have four or five other options you can get. They can take your order. If you're not feeling the chicken salad that day, they have a bistro burger or a chicken sandwich and just some easy things that are included. You can get a chef salad instead of having the lunch entrees they offer. They have a little winery section, lemonade drinks, an onsite salon where they can get their haircut done, different activities every week, and in some cases, they even have outings where they take them somewhere. They also have an area where they have a pool table, a bunch of card tables, a puzzle room, and a mini library where there are books available that you can read. It might be one of the best places I've ever seen. It's a really beautiful place. Communication has been great too. They're very informative and they know exactly what they're dealing with. It's not cheap, but for the money, it's a good choice for us, and there are no hidden fees.
This is the most beautiful facility I have seen in the area. The staff is friendly and accommodating and always in a good mood. I highly recommend if you need this type of service this is the place to be.
You could not ask for a more beautiful facility to have your loved ones live in. The staff is wonderful & so kind.
Very beautiful facility and lovely people!
I recommend The Lakes to anyone looking for an assisted living facility. Their staff loves their residents and always makes sure they are taken care of and have lots of activities for them. Great place to be a part of whether it is an employee or a resident
