Reviews
for The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence, Lexington
My wife Pat and I have been doing a musical performance of Oldies music at Morning pointe for three months. We have worked with Dawn Pittman and she has been phenomenal in communication and organization. She is always very pleasant and efficient. She interacts with the residents in a very loving and caring way. The residents at The Lantern seem very well adjusted and interactive. It is a pleasure being there.
This is a great community for anyone needing Alzheimer’s and memory care. The management team is professional, knowledgeable, caring, and friendly. The excitement they show when talking about the residents and about their community is authentic. The staff that cares for the residents are kind and seem well trained on how to deal with dementia. The community is clean and smells good. I rest a bit easier knowing I made the right decision when placing my loved one in their care. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, but after visiting several other communities I knew in my heart this was the right place. I am thankful to have found such a great community.
Excellent staff and very clean. A really caring place for your loved ones
The staff here is AMAZING! They are all so sweet and very caring for the residents. Even the girls on night shift when I had to bring my dad back in from the hospital after being sick, they were great with him and knew what they were doing.
Outstanding reputation for care and programming!
I am beyond grateful for the staff and leadership at The Lantern. What we had dreaded with our mom was so much easier because of the outstanding care they give my mother. She tells us every time we visit her is “I love this place and the staff, and the food is really good “. Mom is thriving because of the efforts of the staff to make her feel like family. Answered prayers for my mom!!!
The Lantern at Morning Pointe is a fantastic community! The staff goes above and beyond to care for their residents! Always highly impressed with the cleanliness of the facility!
Great staff and a director team that care!
I have had a very good experience with The Lantern at Morning Pointe. The staff here is caring and friendly. They care about those they serve and it shows.
I’ve been with The Lantern at Morning Pointe for 6 months. I cannot speak highly enough of the quality of care, cleanliness and hospitality. I would highly recommend The Lantern!
Great Management and Kitchen staff. Everyone is good!
I have been coming to visit friends and family at this beautiful community for years. Each time I go for a visit, I leave impressed with the way the staff care for the residents. This community continues to get better. I love seeing the managers involved with residents. It’s nice knowing they actually know the residents and have a relationship with them. It is a very clean community and doesn’t have that “nursing home” smell. I love the home-like atmosphere and the fun, engaging activities they have. I find little notes of encouragement and love left on residents doors from the staff. It’s the little things that make the big difference. I was just there last evening for their family night for Thanksgiving and the food was excellent. We had a wonderful time. I recommend this community for anyone needing a home away from home for dementia care.
I am a private caregiver for a resident which receives 24/7 care from 4 independent ladies. We get to see the daily routine from the Lantern employees. I think they do an excellent job in handling residents and have truly the most amazing amount of patience and genuine heartfelt respect for each and every one of the people here at the Lantern. I have no personal gain to make these honest observations and compliments other than to give credit where credit is due.
The staff is dedicated. Knowledgeable And treats the residents. As one large family. Our family is very pleased. To have our loved one there.
Excellent care and friendly staff!!!
The Lantern at Morning Pointe on Ruccio Way is an amazing facility and your loved one will be well cared for. They have the most amazing staff. You and your loved one will be treated with respect. Give them a call you won't be disappointed.
This facility, staff and dedicated management team are the best around! The compassion and true enjoyment they have with the residents is so heartwarming to witness! While visiting a loved one, I was amazed to see the care she receives. It is so wonderful knowing she is in such good hands. I couldn’t ask for anything better than here at The Lantern!
I cannot say enough good things about the staff at The Lantern. They always greet me with a smile and positive attitude. This place always makes me feel welcome and when leaving I am always smiling because the staff make me laugh. One thing for sure I notice about The Lantern is that the staff is friendly and they KNOW their residents. They take the time to ask them about their day and greet them. I always see staff talking and laughing with the residents and they all greet with smiles and familiarity and that is essential for a more home-like environment. It is such a welcoming team and environment! Like I said. CANNOT say enough good things about the people and place of The Lantern
I toured the Lantern of Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence Lexington back in the summer. The staff had no clue I was coming and upon arrival I was so impressed. While touring with the Executive Director, I was able to see the spacious apartments and even more impressive the great interactions and care of the residents. The community was absolutely beautiful with a caring and loving family like environment. I was thoroughly impressed. Melissa
The Lantern at Morning Pointe is a fantastic community for any of your loved ones with dementia! Their management team goes above and beyond to care for their residents!
My mother has mixed dementia, when she reached the point of needing additional care to assure her safety and happiness I was so thankful we found The Lantern. Dementia is hard on both the diagnosed person and their loved ones and this facility does their best to support both by offering care and education on Dementia. The staff at the Lantern treat my mother with love and dignity and you can tell by her reaction to them that she cares for them as well. Communication with the facility is excellent; whether it's regarding a need my mother has, how she's doing (if she's having a really good day and she's made them laugh or something isn't quite right), medical issues, or upcoming dinners, activities, or festivals, I'm always in the know. Of course communication goes two ways and any concerns, problems or suggestions regarding moms care are addressed quickly. When dropping by for a visit, you never know what activities you will walk in on; a "pool" party in the summer with snow cones, staff and residents dressed from the 50's for the sock hop, musical guests serenading them, dancers engaging them, or making treats with the staff. The staff as a whole go above and beyond to care for my mom and assist my family on this journey. I am so thankful she is there.
I cannot thank Kelsey and staff at The Lantern for the assistance with transitioning my husband from assisted living to Memory care. He has settled in very well. The staff comes up to introduce themselves to me and with a Smiling face. For me this is a huge comfort as I am sure they do the same with the residents Thank you All at The Lantern 😊
For those considering a memory care community for a family member or friend, please give The Lantern the opportunity to serve. This memory care is well designed for those with Dementia/Alzheimer’s- with many purposeful programming created to bring meaning and purpose for your loved one. It is a one-story community and spread out. A home-like environment!
The Lantern at Morning Pointe in Lexington is a wonderful community that specializes in providing Dementia and Alzheimer’s care. Each staff member is trained in Meaningful Day. The residents are engaged in activities daily and receive exceptional nursing care. Definitely a great place for anyone with Dementia!
My brother-in-law has moved into The Lantern at Morning Pointe of Lexington. It's clean, the people are very professional, very friendly, upbeat, and very interactive with the patients. It's kind of a semi-shared private room with a living quarter like a living area, a large bathroom, private doors, and individual rooms. The dining area and the atmosphere are very nice. They have linen tablecloths. It looks more formal dining, and there is private dining for families if they were to come there. They have activities, and they take them on outings occasionally. They also assist with helping to get them to doctor's appointments and things. It has a homey atmosphere.
This place is wonderful for individuals that have Alzheimers/Dementia!
The Lantern at Morning Pointe in Lexington is a great facility and specialize in providing Dementia and Alzheimer’s care. The staff are well trained in the Meaningful Day program. Food is great and well prepared. The residents are actively engaged in activities and events daily. This is a great place for a loved one who has Dementia or Alzheimer’s. The Lantern is truly a hidden treasure in Lexington and in a great location.
I really liked The Lantern. The lady who showed me around, her mother actually had memory issues so we were able to relate. I liked what she had to say about the care for the residents. If it was a smaller facility it would have been a good fit for us.
The Morning Pointe and Lantern are both excellent residential communities. They offer licensed personal care. They have nurses on staff 24-7. Great food and helpful director team. 5 stars!
We moved my mother in law in hoping this would give us the peace of mind we needed. We were very wrong. The room they moved her into didn’t have alert buttons on the walls, anywhere. Upon move in the shower was filthy which I brought to the lady’s attention that helped us move her in, it was never cleaned. The room had an odor that we were unable to get rid of. For the amount of money we paid for the room I expected more.
What a breath of fresh air!! After touring several other communities this one by far stood out! It is a smaller community and I was treated like I was already family! The instant connection with the Executive Director and Jana who toured with us had us not wanting to leave! They explained everything in such detail and the community was beautiful and clean! This is the perfect fit for our family!
Not a good place for your family member to live. The front office staff is cold and unapproachable. It's about the dollars here and not your loved one.
My dad moved into The Lantern at Morning Pointe of Lexington. We chose it for location. It's nice, clean, and it looks modern. The staff is friendly and accommodating. He looks healthy, so the food must be very good.
My husband ended up being at The Lantern at Morning Pointe of Lexington. The food was horrible. He was only there for about four months. When he first went, I was fine with it, but as time went on, I had some things happen that I was very dissatisfied with. The food was horrible and he wouldn't eat it. I would sometimes go there and see what they ate. He was there from July to the end of October. The atmosphere was very good. They played games with them, sometimes they'd have a church group or somebody would come in and sing for them, but these people have dementia, so they're not really aware of the entertainment. They didn't watch him and the residents close enough. They'd get in trouble and things would happen. They seemed to hire a lot of young kids who are not as equipped to work with these residents.
I found the staff friendly. I was there on a Saturday and there was a craft show packing up and leaving for the day. Saturdays are likely busier times than weekdays, however, this facility seemed more alive and welcoming to me than the others I visited. I also believe that there may be several activities that fit well with my family member. Some of the activities are also available at other facilities. A one bedroom unit is available which is what I am looking for. It's a bit smaller than some other one bedroom units I have seen. The facility offers the standard wall pull cords and also allows a wearable device similar to the pull cord. My family member falls a few times a year and this is important to me that this wearable device is available. This location also has some favorable benefits to family members. My review is based only on a visit rather than a live-in experience.
The Lantern has an honest and trustworthy staff. I really respect the nurses, administration, and staff. [Removed], the maintenance guy, was very personable and took up with my dad immediately. I do think it's hard to choose the best facility for a loved one without real time there. In retrospect, the residents are lower functioning than my dad and that makes me sad. He has found a friend he thinks is my mom and that gives me peace. It is well kept, clean and very charming. The decor has Norman Rockwell lining the hallways and corner areas designed to meet many different interests. The food is excellent and rooms are generously sized. So far I think it is a wonderful place for elderly folks with dementia. The residents are a really quiet group of people. I'd like for my dad to have a more talkative and outgoing group of people to interact with. We managed to get a one year discount on a room that had been open a while. The price below is with $300 discount for a year.
We are very pleased with my mothers move to this community. They are taking very good care of her, and her needs. She is doing pretty well since her move here. The staff has been very helpful, and courteous. I know she is receiving good care, and is in good hands at this facility. It is a community I would recommend, it is working out well for us.
Mom enjoys living at The Lantern at Morning Pointe. The staff at this community are wonderful. They are helpful and answer our questions. They offer daily activities and the food is good. They keep the community clean and I would recommend it.
My brother is doing well at this community. I'am comfortable with his move here, it is a very nice place. the staff is wonderful, they have been good to work with. The community looks nice, they do a good job keeping the facility, and grounds very well maintained. We are very pleased with all they have done for us. This is a great community.
The open space of the dining area and the couches are nice. The food is very healthy from where my family member used to live. The layout of the the place is great and the pictures, the old fashioned kitchen make a nice touch.
Talk about a life savor! The Lantern has been a godsend. The staff is top notch and so well trained to handle Alzheimer's and dementia. I would recommend it to anyone with a family member with Alzheimer's or dementia.
My mother is doing pretty well here, she seems to have adjusted well to the community. They have a good staff here, they have been attentive and responsive. They keep the community nice and clean, but they could do a better job with cleaning my mother's room. She is trying the activities they offer. The food is good. They are providing her with good care. This is a community I would recommend.
Mother only lived there a short while, but she loved the facility. It is very well run.
Morning Pointe of Lexington is very clean, very friendly, has lots of activities, and is a good community. They had three different room sizes, and we went with the middle size because it was what was appropriate for Mom. She seemed comfortable there, and it was very clean. The staff seemed to be doing very well, were very attentive, very friendly, and very quick to respond if you ask for help.
My dad stayed 4 to 5 days here at the community. The staff are extremely nice and friendly and administration was very easy. The staff went over and beyond to take my dad to physical therapy, they drove and walked him to the building, at no additional charge. The community invited my dad to activities but he chose not to participate. My dad really enjoyed his meals with the residents. I could see the community is very clean, nothing to complain about. I would recommend this community for the relief knowing they are in great hands.
My mom was at The Lantern at Morning Pointe of Lexington for five days, and it was excellent. Her experience was very good. The staff was very pleasant, and everybody was very friendly. Its cleanliness was very good, too.
I think so far they are doing okay. It certainly is providing a level of care that we were not able to provide at home. I haven't heard any complaints about anything. We are disappointed that our loved one isn't able to be at home, and it is expensive.
They have been very thoughtful at The Lantern at Morning Pointe of Lexington. They call me if there are ever any issues. The staff are very helpful when I have questions. I have really been happy with everything at this facility.
Our experience in searching for an appropriate living situation for mom began quite abruptly We had an immediate need to transition from independent living to assisted. With the guidance of A Place For Mom we narrowed it down to several possibilities. After visiting the facilities and meeting staff members we found the perfect fit. Morning Pointe is not only a lovely place on the outside but also on the inside. It is a warm and welcoming environment where everyone is truly committed to providing exceptional care. Morning Pointe is lively with activities, offers multiple spaces for quieter moments and there are smiling faces at every turn. We made the right choice and they made it easy.
I’m using The Lantern at Morning Pointe for my parents. They seem to have a good music program to help with memory-refreshing. They had seemed to be really attentive to keep getting better. They have a lot of family meetings to check with people. The sanitation is very good.
