Reviews
for The Summit of Edgewood
Amazing place everyone is so friendly and helpful
This is what diabetes care looks like at The Summit of Edgewood. This high - low bounce of blood sugar makes the patient feel terrible.
The staff is wonderful! Compassionate, helpful and attentive. They communicate well and are easily accessible which is different from the prior care facility.
My mother was in the Summit of Edgewood for close to three years. We had both good and terrible experiences there. The unique advantage to this care facility was that they had a step up to the full memory care section. This step up area was secure, but the residents were more capable. Because there wasn't availability in the step up section my mother went into the full on memory care until a space was available. This was a bit alarming because residents randomly walked into her room taking her stuff and using her bathroom. She had a man enter her bathroom while she was using the pot and he urinated in her trash. One meal she attended and saw multiple people wearing her clothes. We felt there was not enough supervision to control this behavior. When she was finally moved to the step up area, she did better. Some staff were wonderful, but others were just ok. We had to request that they empty her bathroom trash daily because the room often smelled of urine. This was an ongoing problem. I think the food was fine and I think the facilities were adequate. The staff were good with mom as her confusion deepened. We ultimately decided to leave when they said she needed full memory care. We were in agreement about this placement, but we weren't satisfied with their full memory care unit. We found another wonderful one in the area with a new modern facility and a more specialized memory care team that was actually less expensive. We wished she was there all along. I hate to give the Summit a poor rating because many dear employees went out of their way to help (just not all of them. ) We would chose another place if we were in the same situation now.
The staff has been very attentive and helpful getting her settled in. They communicate with the family, give feedback and take suggestions. They have been helpful negotiating the changes with the remodel. The rooms are spacious and clean.
All of the staff and nurses are so friendly and thorough. My whole family takes comfort in knowing our loved one is well taken care of!
We moved my mom to The Summit of Edgewood several months ago after a hosptal stay and doctors said it wasn't safe for her to live alone. The staff at The Summit helped to ensure a smooth transition not only for mom but for our family. The staff are respectful, friendly, caring and loving. The activities staff does a great job offering fun activities that help keep her socially, spiritually, mentally and physically engaged. Knowing that the nurses and caregivers are checking on her often and assisting her when she needs it, helps us not worry as much . My family and I feel blessed that mom is in a safe, supportive and loving environment.
Best Senior Living in Northern Kentucky!!!
I am an employee at the summit of Edgewood I mainly work in the memory care unit. I would not hesitate to have my own family member present in this facility. The staff is outstanding and how they care for each resident as if they were their own family member. We are going through some very positive changes right now and dealing with some construction but the care will never waver. If you want your family member to be cared for as if they were at home this is the place. We can't wait to meet your loved one and make them feel at home.
Great place for your family member! Such a loving and caring staff!! They really go above and beyond here!!
Summit of Edgewood has a great nursing team! Always responsive and very helpful to there residents needs!
Awesome place that has a warm family personality. Great caring staff and the best residents! Highly recommended!
I'm a nurse here and they are doing a full renovation!! Can't wait to see it finished!! We have a team of great Nurses, KMAs, and Caregivers! The management is super supportive! The food is good! The 1st thing I noticed about working here was the residents are HAPPY. 🤗 I'm loving my time here at The Summit!
It’s like Home away from Home! The staff is wonderful!
You won't regret bringing your loved one here, this place is amazing.
This community is filled with love! Amazing residents, dedicated caring staff, and an overall feeling of home. The community works to let their residents age in place with their assisted living, early onset dementia care, and more advanced dementia care. The ability to bring hospice into the community helps keep residents comfortable in their home surrounded by the nurses and caregivers that know them best. It’s truly an honor to be a part of this one of a kind community!
The summit truly has a home like atmosphere with a real feeling of family! All the staff from the kitchen to the care staff found their calling in assisting our residents and going above and beyond in meeting their needs!
I could not rave about this place enough. The people are great and friendly, as soon as you walk in the doors all you feel is home and love. People that do this kinda work have to be special and the team work and dedication they show is simply amazing. I couldnt recommend this place enough!
A great place. Highly recommended
Having worked in healthcare for over 30 years, I can confidently say that this community is my favorite place to work. As a nurse, it’s important to end each shift knowing that not only have you fulfilled your responsibilities, but that you’ve done so with care, precision, and without feeling rushed. Here, we are able to provide outstanding care to the residents while also having the time to build meaningful relationships with both the residents and their families. It’s a rewarding environment that truly supports both the caregivers and those we care for.
I have worked at this facility for almost 17 years. I have been in healthcare for about 30 years. This Community is “ Home and Family”. That is the best way to describe it. Our staff works as one with The number one priority being our residents. You can feel the love and compassion when you enter the building. I am proud to be a part of this team!!
Summit is a great place. My sisters and I feel very comfortable with our Dad living there. The staff is very caring and loving with the residents. Any concerns we have are addressed immediately. The admin staff was great to work with when filling out all the paperwork for dad to live there. We are thankful that there is a nurse there 24/7 to help with my dad's medication's and any other needs he might have. They take the residence out on outings, My dad enjoys that. They have different activities throughout the day that the residence can engage in.
Amazing place for loved ones to be cared for.
Love all the residents & care team here!
The place feels very welcoming , a since of a home away from home feeling. Workers seemed to be very professional and friendly.
My mom lived at The Summit of Edgewood for two years. We moved her there after she had broken her ankle and knew that she would no longer be able to do steps. It was the hardest day of my life. After meeting the nurses, the aides, and the other staff members, I knew we found my mom's new home. They always engage the residents with plenty of activities, games, exercise, and fun field trips. As my mom's health declined the amount of love and care that everyone showed to her and my family can never be replaced. They treated her like their own family. I promise anyone who chooses The Summit of Edgewood for your loved one, you will be making a wonderful choice and one that you will never regret.
Very loving and caring environment. Patient care, respect and needs are number #1 priority.
Love the facility the caregivers truly love their job an residents they care for them as if they was their own parents or grandparents they are always going on outing with the residents rather it's to the aquarium or just a going for a Sunday drive while stopping to get ice cream I highly recommend the facility for anyone that is looking for a new place to call home for loved ones 10/10
Our family cannot say enough good things about this facility. We moved our parents in a year ago after struggling to care for them at home, with home health services. Our experience from our first phone call and initial impressions to the end of life for both our parents was nothing but excellent. It was a very difficult decision to make but after we got them moved in, we could actually exhale and know they were going to be cared for seven days a week 24 hours a day. Our parents were treated with professional, kind, loving care by everyone No one ever seemed angry in a hurry or too busy to help them or a family member. During even the worst of times, and our parents declining health they were treated with dignity. On every level, the employees were amazing and responsive. Highly recommend!
Nice place with friendly staff.
Overall it is a good fit for my parents. As with any place there are issues. Again my main concern is the communication and lack of care conferences. Yes, I would recommend. It is a nice facility and my parents are doing well there.
I can't say enough about The Summit of Edgewood. My mother has lived there for over a year now. The entire staff is GREAT. The residents go on outings. Out to eat, shopping etc. Summit brings in entertainment weekely. Elvis was in the building one week. There are plenty of activities to do as well. Painting, playing cards, rooting for the Reds & Bengals. It's a very good place for your loved ones to live when they can't live on their own and need a little help.
Friendly & professional people
I came to Charter to visit a friend. I found the facility clean, warm and inviting. The staff was courteous and helpful. I am happy to know my friend has found such a comfortable and neighborly place to live.
Beautiful, clean with a welcoming staff! Residents were very happy. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a loved one…
I am a vendor. The facility is clean; nice in appearance, and the staff is always friendly. Pleasant to come to.
Enjoyed my visit my first visit a very welcoming invirement
I came in to visit my grandfather for the first time and his room smelled like a litter box! I went in and cleaned up the counters and wiped down what I could but his blanket smelt of pee still and he mentioned being left for a long period of time causing rashes. I understand they are understaffed but he honestly pays way to much to be stuck in that room all day everyday with little help. It was really sad having to leave him there knowing he was miserable. We had one nurse on duty and she did what she could to give us info to help get him a new ID as someone has stollen his wallet a while ago right out of his room. She was kind but you can tell she had way too much on her plate as they are obviously understaffed. There should be a ratio on how many nurses are there to the amount of seniors in the center. This shouldn’t be acceptable.
Great place, stuff very nice
Initially my loved one was placed in the Memory Care Unit because there was not a space in the step up area. In Memory Care, there was no control and other residents were in and out of her room taking things and using her bathroom even as she was in there. A man peed in her wastebasket while she sat on the pot. After she was moved to a better area, things were better, but her room frequently smelled because her bathroom wastebasket needed to be emptied more often. People were basically friendly and one in particular who is headed to Occupational Therapy School was excellent. After talking with them about our concerns they improved, but when it came time for her to move back to full Memory Care, we opted for another place, which was less expensive and the care there was wonderful. It was also a new facility.
Wonderful experience visiting my Grandmother. Staff very courteous, friendly and respectful. Lovely place.
Charter Senior living change my mom's life. The facilities are very clean. The staff creates a very caring and inclusive environment. My mom has made new friends and enjoys all the activities. I would rate it a 5 ❤️'s instead a 5 ⭐.
I like the positive attitude of everyone there and how they take care of my friend.
The staff at Charter is exemplary! They are so caring and compassionate and welcoming! They plan great activities for the residents; especially the live music they provide every Thursday. I am glad that my Sister Margie resides there.
Always pleasant visiting there.
We picked this community, because the price was reasonable (relatively speaking), and the location is convenient since it's right off the interstate.I would tell that friend that the staff turnover is high, but I'm sure it's like that everywhere. Just make sure to visit at least once a week--and no matter if you put your loved one's name on everything (and we're talking shoes, socks, towels, sheets, and electric shaver), they will still disappear.
Went there looking for a place for my dad. Jennifer made me and us feel so welcome. They took the time and answered all of our questions. She and the staff has worked with us every step of the way.
My mother has been very happy here and has met some wonderful people. Everyone seems to know everyone there on a first name basis.
You'll are doing a great job thanks 😊
Finally we feel safe leaving our family member in her new home!
