Reviews
for Village At Wesley Manor
My mother has been at Wesley Manor in Aldersgate, their memory care unit, for six months. This is the 4th place she's been in 6 years, and it's the BEST. Aldersgate has the best nurses and aids I've ever encountered. They take great care of her dementia needs in a caring and thoughtful way. I'm glad I finally found such a great place for her.
We. have been very happy with the care [name removed] is receiving. They have fantastic activities and a wonderful arts/crafts room. My husband was in a nursing home for a few months recently and they didn't have near the amenities that [name removed] has. Yes, l definitely would recommend this community to other families.
Wesley Manor is one of those rare places where you can genuinely feel the warmth the moment you walk in. The staff are kind, professional, and truly seem to care about the people they serve. The campus is peaceful and well-kept, and there’s a real sense of purpose and heart behind everything they do. Louisville is lucky to have a place like this.
I went to Wesley Manor. It's very nice. The nursing home part was small. I like the feeling of it. It didn't smell. That's a problem I have when you go in and you can smell urine and all that. The little girl that took me through knew everybody's name in there. They have very low turnover, too. A lot of nursing homes have a high turnover, so that's why I like Wesley Manor. They showed me where the rooms are in the nursing home care. It's like out in the country. It's very pretty. They have all these trails you can walk. The facility looked nice; I liked it. The staff who gave the tour was very good. She was very helpful. The place was very clean, too.
The first few days were great, but when they are called out for things that should be corrected they will pay you to go away instead of fixing the problem. The kitchen manager Nancy is rude and very judgemental and likes to keep throwing previous incidents in your face.
Finding the right retirement community for a loved one can be overwhelming and difficult, but Wesley Manor Retirement Community consistently stands out as one of the best options for senior care that I have seen. With its caring and compassionate staff, comfortable living options, and enriching activities, Wesley Manor provides a warm, family like atmosphere where seniors truly feel loved and at home. By the way Trina is awesome
I absolutely HATE the woman in charge. She's hateful and vindictive. She forced my mom (who has ZERO memory issues!) into a memory care unit because she was having incontinence issues. Mom was recovering from surgery and couldn't get up. They refused to move her into rehab. She was also suffering from a UTI which they postponed diagnosing for 10 days after I requested they check her. The staff on the memory care unit were absolutely horrible!!!! Mean, unhelpful, they point blank lied about 2 things I know of, my mom literally said she was ready to die if she had to stay there. She LOVES life and NEVER said anything like that until she was there. I wouldn't allow anyone I know to go to that unit! The assisted living side used to have amazing staff but many have left or felt forced out. Honestly, there are only a couple of good people left. The facility is VERY dated. The power and AC fail fairly regularly. Residents have to walk up to a buffet to eat then literally walk back out of the dining room and back in another door before every meal. It takes forever. They cannot keep an activities director. Residents ran the "chair exercise " program the last 1-2 years she was there. Multiple lovely people quit and cited issues with management.
We moved my mother-in-law to Wesley Manor in March 2024 and have been incredibly impressed with the care she is receiving. The staff is attentive, caring and patient. We see the same friendly faces at every visit and we know this contributes to her comfort. Although the facility is somewhat dated, it is always clean and welcoming.
Wesley Manor is a bright, clean, welcoming facility with very friendly and kind staff. There are many long term employees who have been there for 10 - 20+ years, creating a stable and high performing environment. It's easy to see why they have been awarded one of the World's Best Cultures -- the staff are well trained, engaged and focused on providing great service to residents!
Great Dementia unit. Staff are very caring and seem to enjoy working with people with memory issues. My mother seems to be happy and has adapted well to her environment. I am very pleased with the facility. Great communication with staff. The director performs care plan reviews every so often to make sure that they are addressing all needs and concerns. They always answer the phone or return your call within an hour or so.
Mom was at Aldersgate for about 6 months before she passed away. The staff were amazing, loving, and helpful! They went above and beyond , especially the last week of her life. Often the staff would stop in to “check on her” even when they weren’t working. I also loved how the staff eat meals with the residents and talk to the residents like they are still human beings, not just a “job”. They became family! To Wesley Manor Aldersgate staff and admin, our family could never thank you enough! -daughter of Elizabeth Campbell
We love Wesley Manor! It has been a great fit for my mother-in-law. They take the best care of her as she transitions through dementia. The staff are wonderful, considerate and extremely caring for their residents.
Don't let the old negative reviews influence you at all. This place is fantastic. They do a great job. It's hard to be perfect, but they are close, and deserve five stars for what they do well. My Grandmother and step-Grandfather, are and were, well cared for there. I truly believe it's a nice place to be at the stage of life when NICE is needed most.
My mother is loving this community …. The care here is great and the schedule is consistent and caring …. All the employees are helpful and sincere in all the work they do for my mother …. Love visiting her there and going to meals and activities with her. Thanks for all you do!!!!
My mother has never been happier. She was welcomed and made to feel right at home. She loves the outings and other activities they have for the residents. Our whole family is very pleased with the friendly and caring staff. We found a real gem, when we chose to place our mother at Wesley Manor assisted living. It was surprisingly affordable. As a Non-Profit they are truly committed to the residents and not concerned about turning a profit for some distant stock holders. This place is an asset to our entire community. If you are looking for a place fore your elderly family member check them out. I think you will be glad you did.
My friend fell at a nursing home in Louisville- we needed to move him to a place where he would be cared for like family. Trina went above and beyond to find a spot for him. She had the medical team ready for him when he arrived. He was paralyzed on one side and communication was difficult. She was very professional providing guidance and care after he fell and broke his hip at the other nursing home. Thank you and your staff for caring so much for someone important to me.
Wesley Manor is a great place! Their employees truly care about their residents. I would recommend it to any of my family or friends.
Wesley Manor has some amazing, caring staff. Trina is very helpful and knowledgeable, and is a great resource for both families and staff when navigating the long term care environment. She does what's best for the residents and it's evident.
Wesley Manor is such an amazing place! The staff are excellent. They genuinely care about their residents! I trust them with any of my loved ones and highly recommend them!
TArius Dickerson is a kind professional person with a sincere personality. This facility is clean and a very good place. My friend is Phyllis Dunham. She seems happy! Thank you for all you do@
Five stars! This place was a great fit for my father-in-law. He loved it very much, which made it so much easier on us. Always smelled nice and the staff was very friendly.
Wesley Manor has taken good care of both of my parents. My parents started out in the patio homes and were pretty independent. The home was set up well with, plenty of room! My mother was taken care of until passing with dementia. The nurses and aids really went the extra mile and continue to do so for my dad, who is now in assisted living. The community is very kind and friendly! I can't tell you just how hard it is to be 100s miles away, but feel ok knowing your loved one is getting good care and is happy! These people really care! That is the bottom line!
My mother was in there about 2 years ago she was in a room it was dark and dingy and very depressing. I seen where they would put the walkers when they ate out of reach. Wish I understood. But when they get done eating I've have seen a few residents have too get up and get there walks them self. I have worked in a nursing home and I have seen what other do not observe. Personally I would a zero.
My mom moved into Wesley Manor last week. It has been good, so far. The people there are really friendly. The place is nice. It's not a humongous facility. They only have around 25 rooms, but it has a clean and homey feeling. The facility seems quite clean. It smells fine. They come in several times a day to take the trash out and make sure everything is clean. She has her own room and her own furniture. They assist her with all her needs and all of her medicine. They take care of the refills for her medicine, and they take care of the rest of her personal needs. They do have updated care. They have outside nurses that come in and check on her once a week to make sure she's OK. Some of the staff have been there for 20+ years. They have activities for them to do. They do morning warm ups. She had her hair fixed and nails done. They have arts and crafts. The food is really good, and my mother seems to like it. The few times I've been there while she was eating her food, the food selection seemed to be really good. They had a main course, salads, and drinks. They had told me that if they served any meal that she absolutely will not eat, then they can go back in there and whip up something that she will eat. So far, she's been doing really well.
Very rude and unprofessional. My mother called to collect information after her father passed here under their watch. Upon calling this establishment and speaking to Trina who obviously hates her job and has an attitude with anyone calling them, we were given a response of “Dunno, he died.” We called back and spoke with Bobbi the charge nurse and got a similar response of “just says he died.” They couldn’t give us a time as we got “it was during 3rd shift so before I got here sometime before 11:30pm,” and “well, looks like it was after midnight, probably close to 12:30a.” Not once did any employment we spoke to ever say sorry for your loss or offer any condolences. Please, do your loved ones a favor and DO NOT subject them to these individuals. My grandfather was placed here by his girlfriend and POA against his families wishes as we were in the process of fighting to get him moved to Texas with us.
We visited Wesley Manor and my mother likes it. We went to see their assisted living and it was very, very good. The place was very neat, clean, and tidy. The people living there were very sweet and seemed happy. They had facilities where they can come in and kind of go out on their own using their wheelchairs. All the people that we met were very, very friendly. The staff person that we met with was very helpful in din describing what they would do for my mother and everything. There was a person that greeted us at the desk at the front door, she was kind and explained to us different things before our guide came forward. Everyone was really helpful and any question I had, they answered. They took us to the cafeteria, where my mother would eat, and it smelled delicious. They have a really good cafeteria-type situation. We went by a room where they had some activities going on, and there was a gentleman at the door waiting to go in. He introduced himself and my husband did too, and he said, "Well, come on over. We enjoy having you." It looked like they were doing puzzles. The room we saw was nice. It was the deluxe private, it's set up like a guest room right now but they said, if we are interested in that, we can have that one. It has a large bathroom and a large shower that people could get in and out of easily. And then they had a bed and a couple of chairs and a TV, a huge closet and a chest of drawers. So it was very ample. The overall staff was wonderful, even the cafeteria workers greeted us. It's an older facility but it's very, very clean and the grounds were beautiful with a lot of walkways.
I would recommend Wesley Manor to anyone for their loved ones. The care in which they provide to me loved one stands out to me. They are going through a bit of staff turnover, however, they have been great to work with in answering any questions the family has. Bathing and dressing assistance, and medication management are some of the care the community is able to provide. The room, all the meals, care, utilities, changing of linens, laundry service, and housekeeping are included in the monthly rate. Movies, cards, checkers, and more are some of the activities for the residents to choose from to participate in.
I would like to complain about the employee that works in admission named Trina. She is your first contact of the facility in admissions. Every time I had a conversation with her on the phone she spoke to me like I was stupid. She had an attitude with me everytime for no reason too. I'm glad my grandmother isn't going to be going there. I wouldn't want to have to deal with someone that rude everytime I needed help when she was there.
Wonderful organization serving Seniors who want to live in community and be supported by staff who help.make it feel like home.
Our tour was great. They were very passionate and compassionate, and I appreciated their follow-up.
This was a very nice facility given the age of the building. It was we kept up and very neat. The residents were moving about the community with no problem and looked as if they were very comfortable there. The few staff members we met were friendly and knowledgeable. This community does offer a rehabilitation center which is a necessity for or needs.
President/CEO is a "hands on" administrator who sets the example for a caring, loving staff who talk to residents and patients by name. I am grateful to be a resident.
Great place to live. People are friendly. I am so glad I am living here. The president is a wonderful man. The staff is well liked.
Perfect for aging persons. Plenty of activities. Grounds and buildings well maintained. All residnet that I know are well staffed with aspects of living here.
I have lived in a patio home at Wesley Manor for 2.5 years. This is a wonderful, safe, caring environment. My deceased husband was a retired united methodist minister. We discussed moving here before he dies. But he becomes ill and all plans put on hold. Wesley Manor is run well by caring well-trained personnel. I will be here until I die. Good/safe place.
I have lived here for 15 years and would recommend here to anyone for a great place to call home.
I am quite satisfied with this arrangement. The monthly maintenance fee covers things like all in quarters repair and lawn care, etc.
I thank the Lord daily for directing my husband and me to Wesley Manor in 2005. I live in a beautiful patio home (with all appliances furnished). When the time comes, I'll either pass to my Heavenly Home or move to a "more care facility". I'm guaranteed care as long as I live. Wesley Manor has a beautiful campus and loving and caring staff! I have an emergency pendant that brings help to me at the touch of a button. Come take a tour!
My Mother has lived at a total of four assisted living homes. She had never been happy at the other three. At Wesley Manor, she feels that their is a warm, inviting Christian attitude. The staff treats her with kindness and respect, and before the coronavirus raised its ugly head there was always fun things to do. She says the food is good[most of the time] and she has made friends with several of the residence. She is very fond of several of the staff members [I would list them, but I am afraid I would leave someone out]. My Mother gives Wesley Manor Five Stars and highly recommends it.
Wesley Manor has provided a good experience for both my parents - I am very comfortable with the quality of care provided. Not a single case of COVID-19 has been reported for any resident - which is great comfort for all of the family members having loved ones at Wesley.
My father is a resident, and Wesley manor treats him very well, with great individual attention, and always keeps me up to date on any changes regarding his situation. I highly recommend!
With prior experience with other relatives in different facilities I can undoubtedly say this is the best place for people to be who need more care in their lives. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The facility is very clean and well maintained. The assisted living area where my Father resides has more of a feel of an apartment community . My Father gets great care here. I have the utmost confidence that his needs are being met and he can get assistance when it is needed. From the nursing staff to the management level all are very accessible and eager to help. The food service has more of a restaurant feel about it and my Father constantly tells me how well he is being fed. It has a well maintained and beautiful campus with paths for walking for outside exercise. With the great appearance and cleanliness of the inside and outside, top notch s and compassionate staff this facility can not be beat.
Wesley Manor is the best senior living in Louisville. Staff is nice and helpful to all the residence. The place is clean and well taken care of. I have eaten there many times and the food is not only healthy but excellent in taste. It's also beautifully decorated which makes you feel like you can relax and enjoy things in comfort.
This the second facility I moved my broth in law to. Wesley Manor is a 180 degree difference from the last facility!! The nursing care is unrivaled!
The distance of Wesley Manor from our home was not convenient, otherwise, we would have chosen it for my sister. It was clean and well-maintained. Everyone I met was very helpful. We saw a room, it's very comfortable, clean, and neat. They had an open area in the center of the building with a courtyard.
I love helping old people
We purchased our patio home at Wesley Manor after a lengthy search. There was a waiting list but the wait was worth it for us. Their terms of purchase are affordable for those who may be downsizing, and ample time is allotted to sell one’s existing home. Improvements can be made prior to moving in. They were very easy to work with throughout the purchase process. The community is friendly. The feeling is that of a pleasant neighborhood of homes whose residents all share some commonalities. The staff is available and interested in residents’ comfort and satisfaction. They are dog-friendly and do not firmly restrict for size as long as your dog(s) or other pets are well behaved and safe, always leashed when outside, and vaccinated. Dog waste disposal stations are provided with bags. The grounds are lovely and my husband and I enjoy long walks here. It is a very secure and quiet environment. Regular activities are scheduled. Transportation is available.
My mother is a resident of Wesley Manor. They have an amazing staff. They are so loving, kind and compassionate in addition to being knowledgeable in their care giving. the food is really food — lots of variety and all were prepared. The facilities are older, but well maintained and very nice pretty but homey.
Love this place! My wife raves about the staff and how they care about the elderly living at this establishment! I have visited a few times and agree! They even had Elvis visit during the Christmas Holidays!
It was very nice
