Reviews
for Village Manor
The staff in short-term skilled nursing, including the therapists, were excellent and helped my mother get back to her skill level to go back to assisted living.
We have been very impressed with our experience at Village Manor. The facility is clean, doesn’t have an odor. The staff have been friendly and the food is decent. We have peace of mind that they do have higher levels of care if needed.
This is the best place we could have chosen for my parents. They genuinely care so much for their residents and have so many on campus activities for residents to participate in. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a facility for a loved one or yourself.
Great facility! It is clean, well maintained & the residents are taken good care of. We loved the fact that there is a nurse 24/7 to help with medications & any needs even in the assisted living area.
I have been fortunate enough to experience Village Manor from both the side of an employee and also as a family member with a loved one receiving care at the facility. From a working standpoint, I couldn't ask for a better work environment. I love coming to work everyday. My coworkers and the residents are great! Management is helpful when you need it and very supportive. They are flexible with me when I have needs to take care of outside of work and very understanding that I have a family to tend to as well. I had a family member who lived in the memory care facility here and we had a great experience. Staff were caring, prompt and compassionate. They were there to adjust his care consistently as his needs changes and disease progressed. I am so thankful that he was able to come to Bridgepointe for his care.
Village Manor has been a great working experience for me! The staff work greatly together ensuring the best quality of care for our residents!
Working at Village Manor has been a huge blessing. Not only have I met lifelong friends, I have grown in my job more than I thought possible. The managers are always ready to jump in and help where needed!
They discriminate against visitors and have treated my grandmother like dirt. 0/10. Would sue if I could.
My Grandma was one of the first people to move to Village Manor. She enjoyed living there and the people. We preferred the old management; the new one is still learning the ropes. Some aspects of the living logistics are frustrating, including the process of getting our money back after she passed away, if that's part of your contract (for us, it has taken 5 months so far). For example, it's also difficult to get calls or requests returned, and it took months for the staff to fix maintenance issues in her Apartment sometimes. Great food though and really sweet kitchen staff. It's also really nice Village Manor had a place for Grandma to exercise, get her hair done, sing or play piano every week for Church, and and in general to make some friends.
I am an independent living resident at Village Manor. My apartment was completely refurbished according to my taste before I moved in to my apartment. This included paint, flooring, light fixtures, new appliances, etc. Once my own furniture and accessories were in place, my apartment felt like home. I have a living room, dining room, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, den, utility room, and fully equipped kitchen including a dishwasher. When I moved here about a year ago I was welcomed by my neighbors, particularly those in my building. I am a people person and enjoy the opportunities to interact with others. If I participated in all of the many activities available here each day I would be exhausted. I make a point of participating in many VM activities, but I also continue to be involved in community groups that I have enjoyed for many years. On some days I choose to stay inside my apartment, and when I do no one interrupts my quiet time. I prepare most of my own meals, but if I decide to give myself a break it is very convenient to go to the cafe. Breakfast is complimentary and other meals are reasonably priced. Friendly conversation abounds around the tables and residents “solve the problems of the world” over a meal. Another plus I should mention is maintenance. Whenever there is a problem, I call in a work request and someone appears quickly to resolve the issue. Staff and residents are friendly and helpful. Village Manor is not perfect all of the time, but for me, moving here was an excellent decision. I am happy here!
The executive director, [name removed], is a sniveling liar, a poor excuse of a human being. If you have to deal with him, good luck, he's going to lie to you while conveying a false politeness about him. I wouldn't send my parent there again just because of him.We picked this community because it was a small and intimate setting, and had a nice gym for my father to use.
I was very pleased with the walkthrough I had at Village Manor. The lady who took me around was very nice and very knowledgeable. The facility looked super clean. As far as my uncle, my only concern is it is so large. I think he would be better in a smaller surroundings. They've got it into sections which is good, and the facility was very nice. I can stay in there. I have talked to someone who had relatives in it, so I would feel comfortable as far as putting him in there. He's got dementia early stage and that's another consideration because in some of the places, there's gonna be a point that I would have to move him and I know in the Village, it's just a matter of going up the stairs, which is good. Everything was very nice, as far as furnishings, the bathrooms, and the closet space. I could be comfortable in any of those rooms. I was very pleased with it. They said that they would even bring the food to the room. The facility was very nice. I really couldn't find anything wrong. The staff was very kind, and the lady who walked me through was very pleasant.
With Village Manor, there were only 12 people in each pod. They were the ones you always ate with, communicated with, and did things with. I'm not sure they intermingled that much, so we didn't care for that. The staff was very nice and very helpful. The dining area they had was one long, huge table, like a farmhouse table with 12 chairs, and that's where you would eat your breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It wasn't like you could go over to a different pod with a different group of people. There weren't enough options as far as dining was concerned. Even the level of being able to communicate with other people and mingle with people more than just the 12 in your little pod was small.
The thing we liked the best about Village Manor was the neighborhoods that they have set up for the people. They call them pods where there are only 10 to 12 in each section, and it is nice and open. The people there seem to be very happy, and they have a lot of activities going on. They have two caregivers assigned to each neighborhood, so they have a lot of assistance where my in-laws will be. We like it. The person that was supposed to give us a tour was out sick, so another person took their place. They answered most of the questions that we had, but they had to call somebody to answer a few. They could improve on having more interaction on their tours when they take you around. My in-laws are on the waitlist because there was no opening in assisted living.
I am a resident of Village Manor Bowling Green independent living. I would rate this place the worse of the three I have lived in and the most expensive. It is almost impossible to get anything done and they may continue to promise but in the end it only gets done if I continue to remind them. Of the thee this is the only one that does not have a hot breakfast. If you like bologna and cheese for the main meal, or bacon and french fries, then this place is for you. Usually the restaurant does not have a green vegetable and often the vegetable of the day is mashed potatoes. Often they don’t have what is on the menu. The apartments are nice and the place is clean. Of the three I have lived in this is the only one that does not have a van to take you to the doctor or any other temporary physical assistance.
My loved one is well taken care of they think they have always lived in the community. There are very good meals and the staff work with my loved one daily. My loved one has their baby with them. My loved one has even made a friend and they seem super tight. The staff communication with the family is very good. They call me when anything changes. There are three chef-prepared meals a day served. There are no choices but can have extra if something they really like. There are also snacks and drinks in-between meals.
I toured Village Manor. It was a very large facility. Everything seemed very outstanding. When I arrived for my appointment, and I arrived on the correct day at the correct time, it was a surprise to them of my coming there to tour. But even though that was the case, they welcomed the opportunity and said that I would get to see things as they would normally be and it wouldn't be like they fixed things up before my arrival. The facility seemed to be very, very clean. The staff seemed very nice and responsive. I got to see interactions between the staff and the residents. The environment was welcoming enough that if I were to go into a facility, this would be the facility that I would want to go in. The rooms had basic furniture like a desk, a bed, a chair, and a dresser. Those items seemed to be of a quality product. Furnishings from your own home were encouraged so that the residents would feel comfortable that they have surroundings that they're familiar with. The person who took me around was not the normal person that would have been my tour guide because that person was out for the holidays. But the person who did take me around was very knowledgeable, and very helpful pointing out things and explaining. It was a very interactive and in-depth tour, right down to showing the activity schedule and the menu and even getting to see some of the ends of the breakfast meal, the quality of care given with assisting the residents with their meals. They didn't seem to be in a hurry in any regard. They addressed any questions that I had as we went around, and I thought they were very, very thorough and certainly asked me repeatedly if I had any questions before we exited a particular area. I was there for probably close to 2 hours.
We toured with Village Manor and the reason we did not choose this facility was because we felt that the rooms were too small and outdated.
I wish I could give no stars. Horrible experience - seriously over-promise and under deliver. If it was about the quality of the food or the decor, that would be one thing -- but it's about the quality of CARE, or more accurately the lack thereof. They made my loved one's last days among the most miserable of her life. They have NO IDEA what they are doing on memory care with anyone who is any more than mildly cognitively impaired. Stay as far away as possible. ADDENDUM: No "off line" outreach will remit your role in the horrors of my parent's last two months on Earth. When you realized you could not "handle" the severity of the dementia behaviors, you unceremoniously dumped my parent in the emergency room and then refused to even speak to the hospital social worker, simply stating that a return to your facility would not be possible. Essentially abandoned. In my opinion and experience, I again say, stay far far away. ONE YEAR LATER: It's been just over a year since our horrible experience with this "care" facility. While I am consoled daily that my loved one is in the presence of Our Lord, I will forever regret my decision to use Village Manor. Don't be fooled by the cloying references to faith and their being driven by serving their fellow man, caring for the sick, etc. I witnessed more than once staff and admin going out of their way to bring sadness and frustration to residents and families. Strongly consider if you are at all able nursing home diversion with the assistance of home health agencies, etc. May God have mercy on the poor souls left to reside at this place.
My loved one has had a turn around since being here. They people are so friendly. She feels part of a community now. It has made all the difference in the world for her attitude and stability and ability to find joy. She doesn't feel alone and feels much safer.
We’ve been so pleased that our parents are enjoying such a warm and welcoming community. Everyone already knew them and they felt right at home on move in day. The staff members are accommodating, kind, and intuitive regarding the needs of seniors. We are relieved to know they are in a safe and well-secured living environment.
wonderful place, highly recommend
My friend is at the Village Manor, and she's very satisfied and very happy there. She loves her room. It's spacious enough and she's got all her personal belongings in, the way she wants it. She says the food is more than adequate and the staff has been very helpful to her. The outdoor spaces are adequate too for visiting.
Village Manor is full of caring staff! The building having gorgeous interior is a plus. Ideal facility for future plans.
Bridgepointe is “home sweet home” for many residents. (Including my father-in-law). The campus is beautiful and the staff always makes everyone feel welcome. My wife and I appreciate the fact he is treated like family by all their staff. We have peace of mind knowing that his needs are important to all. Our sincere thanks.
I made an appointment with Village Manor and talked to a lady there today. She was very nice and very helpful. However, as she found out more about my 104-year-old mother, that she could not transfer from the bed to the wheelchair, from the wheelchair to another chair, from the wheelchair to the toilet seat, that she had to have assistance through all those things, she indicated that Village Manor did not provide that type of service. The young lady was very helpful and the facility is absolutely nice as it can be, but they can't care for my mother. I had a short walkthrough and while we were walking and talking, she realized it wouldn't work. She gave me a pamphlet and I had a mask on when I came in, but she gave me another one with a shield. They showed me a room and it was very nice. It's a nice facility, immaculately clean, and everything is nice. I couldn't see anything wrong except they couldn't care for my mother. It's a nice, modern building.
Take your loved one somewhere else, it’s as simple as that. No focus on the care of their patients or their belongings.
Village Manor appeared to be too big for an individual to fit in by himself. The person who showed me around was nice; however, I didn't think she had much experience showing people around because the tour didn't have much structured to it and we just appeared to be going here and going there. It needed to be more structured towards what the individual is looking for. I didn't get the impression that they knew what I was looking for even though I told them several times.
Very, very disappointed!!!! Please don’t put your parent in their memory care facility! They are not attentive to the resident needs and medications! Tried to get results from the management personnel and never saw results!! I think they need to take the word Christian Care off of their facility!!!!! Very bad experience with having my parent there!!!! Have a major turn over of employees, all the good one never stay very long at all!!
I use to stay there it a wonderful place good staff good people.Thank for generosity and cares.
I could not be happier with the service provided by this company! The staff there always have smiles and every time I visit my family here, the place is sparkling clean. This place does a great job of providing a home to people who need assistance and I highly recommend it.
We recently had my father move in on a trial basis at Bridgepoint. I would have to say we as a family couldn't be more disappointed. The under staffing, the poor food quality and lack of concern is frightening. We have contacted Bridgepoint many times with our concerns but are either promised improvements that never come or simply ignored. My father is woken at all hours of the night needlessly. I love my dad and am crushed this was his experience. Bridgepoint may be a pretty building, but that is the only thing positive I can write in a review. The building is also being sprayed for fleas....I was told no pets but a resident has a pet that now brought fleas into the building. Please spare your loved ones the disappointment. Just ask any resident- they are not happy. It's such a shame, Bowling Green could really use the facility. Great concept/ no execution......Didn't expect to be able to get in touch with administrators....they simply won't address concerns.
We very much liked Village Manor. They had a library on every floor, an exercise room, activities room, and cafeteria. We liked their apartments and the fact that they provided transportation for doctors' appointments and shopping. We spoke to the director and manager, who was very nice and knowledgeable. The community is well-kept and convenient. One of the things they did that was that was very nice was, when you choose an apartment, they would completely refurbish the carpets, countertops, appliances, and paintings.
This community has two sides and one is more active than the other. The staff we met here were nice and the community seemed clean. We did not get to try the food but the options on the menu sounded good. They offer family style eating.
My wife is adjusting to living at Bridgepointe. This community was recommended by other family and friends. I would recommend this community. The staff are encouraging and very caring. The food is well balanced and tasty. The community is clean and well maintained. They offer daily activities.
